NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro discuss the day's top political news including the possibility that republicans may use President Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, in ads attacking the president.
The Super PAC funded by Joe Ricketts has released a statement from the founder of TD Ameritrade that essentially says he won't use Jeremiah Wright as an attack against President Obama.
Joe Ricketts is a registered independent, a fiscal conservative, and an outspoken critic of the Obama Administration, but he is neither the author nor the funder of the so-called “Ricketts Plan” to defeat Mr. Obama that The New York Times wrote about this morning. Not only was this plan merely a proposal - one of several submitted to the Ending Spending Action Fund by third-party vendors - but it reflects an approach to politics that Mr. Ricketts rejects and it was never a plan to be accepted but only a suggestion for a direction to take. Mr. Ricketts intends to work hard to help elect a President this fall who shares his commitment to economic responsibility, but his efforts are and will continue to be focused entirely on questions of fiscal policy, not attacks that seek to divide us socially or culturally.
Although this statement suggests that using Wright "reflects an approach to politics that Mr. Ricketts rejects," it's worth noting that the actual proposal contains this line: "Joe Ricketts said it himself: 'If the nation had seen that [Jeremiah Wright] ad, they'd never have elected Barack Obama.'"

A swing & a miss on the crabwalk backwards;
Sorry Joe, you're about as popular in Chi-Town right now as Steve Bartman!
As Billy the Goat says; GO OBAAAAMAAAA! 2012
The NY Times story was a nothingburger.
Speaking of baseball, off to Philly tomorrow to see my Red Sox in interleague play, and suffer abuse from nasty Philly fans, who make Feisty look like a sweetheart.
The GOP has little to offer and they know that Americans would like to be enjoying more financially stability, so they want everyone to focus only on the economy.
First of all, the GOP and Romney fail to present any sustainable plan that would be benefit the country.
Second, regardless of what the GOP/Romney try to avoid is all of the other factors that the president has to concentrate his efforts on every day.
I simply don't have any respect for a party or it's primary candidate that refuses to focus attention to the vast and complex problems that we face as a nation. There are many, many problems that also effect all of our lives everyday. But the GOP/Romney have no clue that anything other than money matters in this country.
Not to speak of world diplomacy that our president has fostered. The world in large has embraced much more closely since we elected Obama. I seriously doubt the same would continue with Romney at the helm.
It was a "nothingburger" because Joe was caught. The real "nothingburgers" are all those outraged folks who claim President Obama is a Muslim then slam him for worshiping as a Christian with Rev. Wright. Which is it?
Much like you vaginal probe Bob!
All barky... no bitey...
Except you just did.
And now Republicans will claim that Democrats have declared a race war, just like they claim that Democrats have created the war on women.
How dumb do you think we are? Pretty dumb, I guess.
Cubs suck. Go Cardinals!

@Fiesty's comment as follows: Much like you vaginal probe Bob! All barky... no bitey...
She might be talking about your manhood (as in the lack thereof) in which case you are clearly owned big time!
Maybe I should say "little time" ...
Interestingly enough Joe Ricketts e-mail account has been disabled. Wonder why????
Seeking Sanity,
I would be willing to bet it BLEW UP!
*KAPOOEE* style! ;o)
Did anyone else actually attempt to read the entire "proposal" outlined above? I made it as far as Page 26 (about halfway through) before giving up in total disgust and outrage. Here are some samples (bolding is mine):
Page 11: "That gives us enormous free air time and we will prevail, provided our response is locked, loaded and ready"
Page 14: "All aimed at pushing viewers to a website to view the full five-minute film, where we will capture, of course, their data".
Page 17: "The face-replacement technology utilized involving the placement of Barack Obama's computer-generated face on the filmed body of a similarly-sized actor is relatively new, not inexpensive, but we feel it will be one of several elements that will insure your film is not mistaken for a typical, political "video". This is much closer in scale and quality to your theatrical productions. While the potential narrator is listed as Jon Voight, perhaps there is someone in the Ricketts film world who would be appropriate? In particular, we should at least discuss this narrator being an African American".
Page 21: (Insert) "Footage of BO looking slick and cocky".
Page 22: "BO enters from the left, rapidly pushing a gurney down the sidewalk in front of the home. As he passes camera, he looks to us and gives us "that grin". Family's eyes follow him with disgust as he exits screen right."
Page 26: "A husband and wife in their simple kitchen, pouring (sic) over a stack of bills they will never be able to pay. Camera dollies past them to show BO sitting at the table too, then he bows his head in shame".
You want to talk "shame"????? The people responsible for this travesty have no shame.
I'd take that as a compliment. Bartman just shows how Chicagoans like to blame their problems on someone else. Nothing like a good scapegoat to make a Chicagoan feel better about themselves.

I have to agree with listenToMe. They aren't using Rev. Wright because if they did then the people on the right would have to admit that Barack Hussien Obama IS a Christian and not a Muslim.
The republican's shouldn't have backed down on the Rev Wright issue. They should use it and also make an issue out of obama's friendship with other folks that hate America... like Wm Ayers, Bernadette Dohren, and the most famous socialist of all George Soros!
However the republican's know Obama would love to throw out the race card if he thought it would get more votes for him!
And there you go, fulfilling my prophecy that the right would claim it was the left that started the race war.
We may be fuzzy, but the right is so pathetically predictable.

Obama/Biden 2012
This story seems like much ado about nothing. A campaign proposal was made by a vendor and it was rejected by both the candidate and the PAC. To me, the real story seems to be they want to focus more on fiscal issues than personal issues - that seems like a good thing to me.
This doesn't mean I agree with all of Romney's plans - just like Obama's, there are things I agree with and things I disagree with. But, overall, my main concern is getting politicians to discuss real issues and stay away from character assassinations.
No need to use Joe Ricketts. Anyone watching Oblah blah blah speak his lies and deceits can tell he's full of bull! If you can't recognize that, why, you must have your head firmly planted in your okole, or in Feisty's case, in your vag.
Republicans really did'nt need the ad. We've known this all along how Obama was, and still is.
Just to bad some people don't see it, or are just blind that they don't understand what they see. They like to whine about " race card" or "war on women" or "1%" when it is themselves who have brought the issue's up! If you can't take thr truth, just keep your nonsense to yourselves. He had his chance to fix things. And, he did'nt! He has made things worse for all Americans. Except those who live like leaches off the country. He never should have been president. I hope this taught all of you Obama supporters a thing or two about what it means to vote, and vote for the best candidate to help this country. As one comment said on here about something else. (SWING AND A MISS) He's OUT..........
I almost forgot, Fiesty Redhead, your logo fits your thoughts DUMB FUX haha maybe the Dems can use it. Again, haha
Jeff, then why are we about to re-elect him. If most people disagree with you, it is not necessarily the case that they are all wrong.
Wow everyone seems up in arms that this time Obama maybe vetted. Seems appropriate to reserve the Jeremiah Wright vetting to use if and when Obama uses similar tactics. We all know Obama cannot run on his record. We all know Obama has done nothing the past three and half years but blame everyone else for his failures. So you can take to the bank that Obama is going to get downright nasty as this election gets down to the wire and his fears of losing the keys to AF1 and the nations American Express card become a reality.
Sorry, guys, many people who sit in the pews on Sunday morning are not Christians. You need to rethink how much Obama has divided this country along racial lines and is now trying to further divide us along LGBT lines.
No sitting president has done more to divide us than your hero, Barack Hussein Obama.
Bob in KC - maybe you should look in the mirror. Our President has not divided this country but those on the far right have. They have used every lie possible to put this man down because they don't like the fact he's black. Oh they'll scream and say "now you play the race card" but let's get real - that's what it's about. If any one of you had a spine, you'd admit it.
Just think about what horrible shape we'd be in if McCain - "we don't have any problems with out economy" - and Palin - "uh, I read... well, I read, okay" - had been elected. Our President has done a good job with the mess he inherited and will do an even better job during the next 4 years. Get over the prejudice and grow up.
Romney would sell this country out if anyone put money in his pockets. We have the best person for the job!
Obama/Biden 2012
Joe Ricketts should focus on his suck wad team rather than Obama. Silly rabbit bring up Rizzo or some other prospects and get out of politics. A least the Chicago Tribune made no exaggerations that they just wanted to make money on the team rather than win a World Series. A little less stroking Theo and a little more investment into some quality players there Joe. No wonder the team sucks Joe get your head on straight.
No! Here's why they won't use Jeremiah Wright:
When Obama was confronted with Jeremiah Wright during the Democratic campaign, here is what he said:
"...words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit."
Republicans, of course, have no such scruples. Anything is fair game. Expect a lot more of this kind of mud-slinging from Republicans! They have no scruples - the only thing that counts is winning! Look at their record - do they even admit that George W. Bush exists?
Romeny Sr did EVERYTHING for Romney Jr. Mr. Obama, who was raised by a single mom and grandparents, climbed his way to the top. WHo would you choose? A man who has better work ethic or a man to whom everything was given? Obama has a realistic perspective of families, financially struggling college students, medical bills/health insurance, women, AND the working middle class. Romney probably doesn't even know what a $1 bill looks like! Wake up, people. Romney represents the rich and will only act on what Wall St tells him to do. Mr. Obama entered office at one of our most critical times in American history and you people (GOP, conservatives) spit in his face as he repairs the damage caused by financial corps and trample on the average American who took most of the hit. Shame on all of you, you are indeed the epitome of selfishness and greed.
Obama/Biden 2012
I noticed you said he was the son of a single mother. Are you forgetting she was a whore who had affairs with two different African men of wealth to get by as a single mother who raised a hald breed son and then used every welfare program known to man to support his drinking and drugging until he finally pulled the best one and got into Harvard on an affirmative action program. I would love to see his grades.
Glad to read this...I had thought to transfer some of my more frequently traded accounts to TD...Now I know not to.
Jerry, I'd like to see Romney's grades to. Either he's a genius and forgot everything he'd learned in school, or his daddy paid for his degree (more likely).
Jerry did you get past Pre School?
Jerry, where did you get the garbage mouthed lies about Obama's mother? Dunham studied at the East–West Center and at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, where she attained a bachelor's in anthropology and mathematics[4] and master's and Ph.D. in anthropology.[5]
Muslim-Christian fanatic, Muslim- Christian fanatic, Muslim- Christian fanatic, etc etc etc. Jeez GOP make up you GD minds it can't be both!!!! Or does it just piss you all off because he is a Episcopalian just like the majority of you?
Bob: Good thing you're not an advisor for team Romney: The race baiting issue didn't work the first time and Romney already has votes of folks who speak the way you do. Personally, I think its the FIRST time I've seen Mr. Romney show some guts in this campaign, even if it was to stop something that would have only cost him votes. (Bob: to explain, that would be votes from decent folk who actually want to discuss real issues).
More bate thrown out there by the left. The WHOLE story was that someone in planning put the idea on the floor and it was rejected.
According to Rev Wright, in a recent interview, he could not say that Obama was ever fully converted to Christianity. What he was able to do was get Barak "more comfortable" with Christianity.
Here's the problem. You are either all in or all out. Both these religions require both feet in. if you can't make up your mind it will show, and it does.
Where is your source, DB, and who gives a fig what that nutbag said?

If he disagrees with President Obama, is there a third-party candidate we haven't seen? Because Romney isn't presenting any kind of economically responsible plan that Ricketts would agree with...or any plan at all, for that matter.
Obama has been in office 3!/2 years and we still haven't seen a plan. Just empty rhetoric.

Apparently, only they know when, and only they are capable of facilitating God's will.
As no doubt explained privately to them by God Himself.
"Obama has been in office 3!/2 years and we still haven't seen a plan. Just empty rhetoric."
What's Romney's plan other than the same old, same old of cut taxes for the richest of the rich and more deregulation? Been there -- done that and we had the worst economic melt-down since the depression.
The economy is affected more by consumer confidence than a president's economic plan. Judging by the slow recovery we can see where consumer confidence is today...

Obama/Biden 2012
If I recall PBOB has put forth the idea of repealing the tax cuts for the wealthiest of the US taxpayers. If you believe the numbers that would be a great start towards fiscal responsibility (although I'd prefer he repeal all of the tax cuts).
We have revenue problem in this country. Or haven't you heard that the collections are at their lowest levels since the 60's?
Just don't use contraception!!!
There's absolutely no point in trying to convince the id iot pro gressives on this site that there IS a limit to our ability to fund their narcisstic need for entitlements.
Ah, but why is American consumer confidence in the toilet? We have been encouraged by Washington to "borrow and spend" since the end of World War II and look where it got us. I don't care which political party you want to demonize; they both deserve it.
"Borrow and spend" has gotten us into a deep, deep hole that only very strict austerity will be able to retrieve us from. More government spending is not the answer. More borrowing is not the answer. Just like a family that has overspent its budget, we only have two options. One is for the United States to declare bankruptcy. The other is for ALL of us, as a group and totally unified, to bite the weenie and cut back EVERYWHERE we possibly can until we are out from under this cloud.
"The economy is affected more by consumer confidence than a president's economic plan."
Exactly -- and that's why supply side economics is a joke. Jobs are created not by giving tax cuts to the richest of the rich but by putting more money in the hands of the middle class -- the consumers.
Thought. Smoke and Mirrors is a plan too.
TonyD: oh that's hilarious!! Republican conservatives are what, fiscally responsible???? You expect anyone to buy that one anymore after 8 years of GW and his love of ALL deficit spending--or the new Paul Ryan plan which refuses to touch the defense budget, slashes social security and medicare, while reducing taxes even further on the wealthiest Americans? The same ol' same ol'....been there, done that. Not everyone thinks PROGRESS is a dirty word...
The time for fiscal austerity is not when you are trying to climb out of a recession. The poor and unemployed are already pumping every dollar they have back into the economy. Take away what little they already have and what you're going to end up with is more homes going into foreclosure and millions of people with no where to go and no way to survive.
The President has at least tried to do the things necessary to get the economy restarted. He has been partly successful but the effort has been grossly UNDERfunded.
1) Create temporary jobs by rebuilding the infrastructure
2) Create growth by funding entrepreneurs particularly in areas like green energy
More needs to be done.
3) Banks have gone from being under-capitalized to being over-capitalized by not lending any money. Instead of lending money to hard working people who want to create the businesses who will grow the economy, they are back to gambling with the money in the market and on commodities, all the while secure in the notion that Uncle Sam has their backs when these high risk gambles fail. It's time to reinstate Glass-Steagall so commercial banks have to go back to making their money by betting on the hard work and ingenuity of the American entrepreneur and let investment banks risk their OWN money in the market.
4) Along with the banks, businesses and the wealthy are sitting on vast hoards of capital as well. The GHWBush 1990 tax increase showed clearly that instead of slowing the economy as some were predicting it stimulated capital expenditure as businesses looked to grow income.
5) And the last thing that we need is another damned war- and plenty of Republicans are beating the drums for one already.
When the economy is growing, jobs are plentiful and new tax revenues are streaming in- THAT is the time for a little fiscal austerity. That is the way to deal with the budget deficit and bring down the national debt.
The G8 nations have agreed. Austerity is making the problem worse. Now it's the time to do it the right way.
All this means is he got a call from Romney saying don't do it. He's afraid they might start looking into what his own religion says....
please... the dopes on the right can't make up their mind if he is a muslim or christian...not to mention what they think of Obama's religion...
Right on
He's a Muslim when they want him to be linked to terrorists, and he's a Christian when they want to link him to Rev. Wright. Don't try bothering them with things like logic, reason, evidence, and facts; haters gonna hate.
I wonder what you guys on here pushing for this kucklehead are going to do when he's voted out?

I didn't know you could be "voted out" after you've reached the end your term limit.
listenToMe - good one! And, he will make the next term. Romney sent back home in November!
Obama/Biden 2012
listenToMe,
The term limit for Presidents is two. U.S. citizens all across this great country, however, may decide to send Obama back to Chicago after only one term. Under Obama's failed "leadership", the economy is struggling.
More like failed "cooperation" between parties - house and senate.
Jim: under Obama's leadership, we actually HAVE an economy...not all of us were asleep for the 8 years that economy was nearly run off a cliff by he who must not be named. OBAMA-BIDEN '12
From Rev. Wright in a recent interview. When asked, He could not say that Obama was converted to Christianity for certain. When you have your feet in both camps, you will see severe inconsistencies, which is exactly what is going on. You could even make the case that he is neither, and is simply using both religions to further his own vision.
AP there are less people employed today than in 1981. Droves of laid-off people applying and getting SDI or applying for social security as soon as they are eligible is not an improvement.
As consolation to the Cubs, once there was one banner in a Cubs' game that reads:
Anyone can have a bad century...
There is always the next year! There is always the next century - but this Cub Owner is one dumbbell -even considering the use of Jeremiah and committing political suicide, as if being the perennial loser is still not enough for the Cubs.
If only PACs and politicians were as wonderful as they claim to be in press releases!
Racial hatred is an essential aspect of daily life in America and it gains particular importance to the Republican political agenda, which includes a host of bigoted notions about a wide range of people not white male and protestant. This story found at shows us the history associated with the wealth of Mr. Richetts.
THE COLOR BARRIER
The Chicago Cubs bear some responsibility for the ban of black players in the first place. In 1882 in a game against Toledo, Cubs Hall of Famer Cap Anson demanded that a player be taken out of the game because he was black. Five years later, Anson refused to allow his team to take the field if a black player was on the opposing team. The Giants tried to sign an African-American player, and Anson led the charge in getting the other owners from blocking that move and any other move that would have allowed blacks to play.
To be fair, the ban wouldn't have happened if the other owners and players weren't also racist, but Anson was the most vocal, and he was the biggest star in the league, and nobody wanted to defy him. He hated "darkies," as he called them, but he thought he was magnanimous, because he hired a "little coon who could handle a baton" to be the team mascot. This is the way he described him in his memoirs...
"Outside of his dancing and his power of mimicry, he was, however, a 'no account @!$%#' and more than once did I wish that he been left behind."
Certainly that's a stain that can never be erased from the memory of the early Chicago Cubs, but it wasn't the final stain in the history of race relations with the club.
After Jackie Robinson finally broke the color barrier in 1947, Cubs owner Phillip Wrigley still didn't sign a black player for several more years. Wrigley was afraid of signing black players because his fan base was almost totally white and he worried how they would react. The first African-American to sign with the Cubs in the minor leagues was pitcher Booker McDaniel, but he never reached the majors.
It wasn't until the end of the 1953 season that Gene Baker was finally called up. He was 28 years old, and had hit well in the minor leagues, but the Cubs hadn't called him up earlier despite having no one better on the major league roster, and finishing 40 games out of first place.
Ernie Banks was signed shortly thereafter from the Kansas City Monarchs. They signed Ernie strictly because they needed another black player to room with Baker. If they didn't have Baker, they wouldn't have signed Banks. They honestly had no idea what they were getting in Banks, either. One of the Cubs coaches, Ray Blades, gave Ernie a book called "How to play baseball" even though he had hit .380 for the Monarchs.
At the time, inserting Banks into the lineup was a very controversial move, because shortstop was considered a "thinking man's" position, and Banks was the first African-American in Major League history to play shortstop on a regular basis.
Needless to say, it worked out just fine.
Despite Wrigley's worries, both Gene Baker and Ernie Banks say they were treated very well by the Wrigley fans. The fans had good reason to cheer. Thanks to the nucleus of future Hall of Famers like Banks, and Billy Williams, and Fergie Jenkins, the Cubs returned to prominence in the late 60s and early 70s after two decades in the wilderness.
But the Cubs took even longer to break the color barrier on the bench. It was a full 46 more years before they hired an African-American manager, Don Baylor, in November of 1999. As for the front office, the Cubs still have never employed an African-American as general manager.
In 2016, it will be 150 years.
@Qme2
Thank You! I enjoyed your post - and I used to love Ernie Banks!
What does this have to do with the Richetts? They didn't buy the Cubs until 2009. That would like calling a person a racist because the house they live was owned by a racist 100 years ago.
Qme2 - I guess that's why my family were always White Sox fans - we thought the Cubs represented the North Side where the "richies" lived and the White Sox represented the South Side where the "worker bees" lived - I guess we were right
Hey Mom - "in heaven" you were right and to my son living in San Diego - keep your White Sox hat on!

I think all the political ads from both parties are going to be garbage as usual. What wins elections has nothing to do with rational ideas. Its all "sound bites" and all politicians know that, so do not expect anything actually intelligent fro either candidate.
Rickets added "At least not in public where I might be held accountable for my actions...."
What is wrong with our voting system is people like this idiot. I don't listen when the parties start throwing darts, what are they trying to hide. tell me what you will do to betty my life, then I will listen. I don't Romney has any better ideas on how to get jobs. I will say this, I hope Americans rememvber it was the GWB that got us into this mess, and he did noting. The triple down effect definitely does not work.
The unsustainable housing collapse occurred during the Bush admin, but I don't think GWB got us into the mess. I don't blame the economy on either Bush or Obama, but I really don' think it is correct to say we are using trickle down theory either as wealthy do pay the most taxes , both bu % and $ amounts.
I am convinced the housing collapse would have happened regardless of who was president.
I think if the Liberal Media had done it's job in 2008 and researched this Rev. Wright issue. We wouldn't have wasted 4 years on an incompetent leader.... VOTE FOR CHANGE IN 2012!
"I think if the Liberal Media had done it's job in 2008 and researched this Rev. Wright issue."
Total BS. The story was talked abut for weeks on end. Bottom line -- yapping about Wright didn't work in 2008 and it won't work in 2012. You Republicans didn't get your asses handed to you in 2008 because of the so called "liberal media." You lost because after 8 years you crashed the economy, your candidate was a bitter, out of touch, old man, your VP candidate was an idiot, and you had no ideas (and still don't) abut how to fix anything.
Eh.
Wright is a dirt bag.
But I don't think the 'majority' of Americans will go nuts over him.
The man is like 80 years old now. They get him up there spouting anti-zionism, people will just pity him and assume he has dementia. They won't freak out like you're hoping.
Do these names sound familiar when talking of Rev. Wright? Beck, Hannity, Rush!
Their is no story there. They gave it all the had, remember?
And just why was it the "liberal" media's job, UAW? Why couldn't the conservative media "research this issue"? What about the Clinton campaign? Or the McCain campaign? Or the Republican National Committee? Or every conservative talk show host and blogger in the country? Or the freaking Koch Brothers?
Oh, wait.....they all did. The Reverend Wright clips were played over and over and over on the nightly news for weeks. They were discussed on the Sunday talk shows by liberals and conservatives alike. They were commented on endlessly on blogs like this one. They were the subject of dozens of forwarded spam e-mails and hundreds of hours of hot air from the Rush Limbaughs of the world.
And in the end, the American voters said there was no "there" there. Kind of like the birth certificate non-issue. Or should "the liberal media" have saved us by researching that one some more, too?
This line of attack was, as you guys like to say, an "epic fail" in 2008. With four years to do follow-up "research" on it by all of the above-mentioned parties, why would you think it's going to be anything else in 2012?
Is this really all you've got left?
I'm curious -- what was the Rev. Wright issue?
Because all I heard was that Obama had an angry black preacher. Excuse me if I don't hesitate to point out about 1,000,000,000 angry white preachers that the Right has no problem with.
Not epic fail, just failure to identify.
The types of people who are super pro-israeli state, pro-exceptionalism and truly believe the US is the moral authority in all things on earth...
weren't the people who voted for Obama anyways. You don't -gain- any votes by the line of attack, but they did lose some.
Sort of like why Obama won't put Hillary as VP. he wouldn't GAIN votes from it, but there's always the chance you lose some.
That's why I think the Republicans are going to be SOL of the white-house for a while. The new generation didn't grow up with WW2 as background noise, and they don't bite off on American Exceptionalism.
The republican party, to be honest, uses American Exceptionalism and Moral Authority as the very cornerstone of their activities. If we disagree on the most primal issue at stake, how could you ever hope to convince me you're right in anything? We look at things from a totally different POV.
I think it was about mid-2008 when I remember hearing about Pat Buchanan getting increasingly freaked out when he was on the talk shows. I said at the time that it wasn't going to be long before he just started running around in circles hollering "DON'T YOU GET IT WE'RE ABOUT TO PUT A N1**ER IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!"
He didn't use that exact phrase, but he got very close to that level of complete, utter, bug-@!$%# insane hysteria. And we're seeing it again. For 4 years the rightwads have angrily demanded we disrespect the Presidency, we ignore the will of the voters, they've hollered and screamed about his birth certificate and every other damn thing, and after 4 years none of the scandals they've whipped up have stuck. This is all they've got left. ANGRY BLACK MAN!!!! AHHHHH!
You are exactly right but here comes the Messiahs messenger's to call you idiot, bigot and liar!
Republicans: Not one iota of even a "pea-sized" memory among any of them.
Obama/Biden 2012
UAW: perhaps you're one of the few in the country who DIDN'T know about Rev. Wright and didn't hear the President's speech on race before the election?? No wonder you think this is a "liberal" news plot....you were listening to FOX and apparently missed it. You keep staying in that echo chamber of yours where you only hear what you want to hear far right extremists and this is what happens. EVERYTHING is news to you.
The TeaTards are racist bigots. End of story.
larry we got rid of your old buddy lugar and we will be moving new people in the wh exciting isnt it cant wait to get rid of the smell
jockland - actually we finally got rid of that smell in the White House thank you. It took over a year after Bush left but, with intense cleaning, it finally is inhabitable. The Obama's will enjoy it for the next 4 years. Thanks for your concern!
Obama/Biden 2012
Jockland: no tea party didn't do Lugar in...Lugar did Lugar in. You folks are already history. You just don't know it.
jockland - that so-called buddy of the left VOTED 91% of THE TIME with Republicans - his expertise was on removing radioactive materials that foreign companies have
Learn to research - it will do wonders for your little closed mind
BTW - the idiot who was elected will be defeated by a well known loved past Governor - who lost his leg as a Seal - he served something that not one of your Chicken Hawk Republicans have done -
They brought new meaning to deferments - and Bishop Romney was holed up in a Mormon Chateau trying to convert a Catholic country - France - Zero converts - during the Viet Nam Debacle
those conservative pigots! The system these conservative pigots run is properly called Pigotry!
Obama never had a plan, only BS to get elected. Bye bye Obama in 2012.
looks like a damn good plan and it's about to get him re-elected...(but you keep waiting for the next Bush...perhaps 2017?)
UAWPleeeeeease - yes, let us vote for change in 2012!! Change every single republican in the house and senate to a Democrat. That is what I call change!!!!
I plan to.
Me too.
Obama's day's are numbered,,,,,count on it ! He will never get reelected !!!
Don't worry Steve-he will be out in 2016 because of term limits, so he can't be reelected anyway!
1,688 days left to be exact!
jw played a big role in bho's past..

If only this decision was made after careful reflection and understanding. Unfortunately, he's just another rich right-winger who doesn't want to be seen with egg on his face. And I'm willing to bet that this story is not over, that the proposal, in its entirety, will be released by another, more anonymous source. Still, after revealing with whom the Ricketts' family hearts truly lie, how can anyone continue to call themselves Cubs fans?
The sermon Rev. Wright gave after September 11 titled “The Day of Jerusalem’s Fall” was delivered on September 16, 2001.
Rev. Wright was actually quoting Edward Peck, former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and deputy director of President Reagan’s terrorism task force from an appearance the day before on FOX News where Peck was saying that America’s foreign policy has put the nation in peril and said "the chickens were coming home to roost."
“I heard Ambassador Peck on an interview yesterday did anybody else see or hear him? He was on FOX News, this is a white man, and he was upsetting the FOX News commentators to no end, he pointed out, a white man, an ambassador, he pointed out that what Malcolm X said when he was silenced by Elijah Mohammad was in fact true, he said Americas chickens, are coming home to roost.”
That is the actual quote by Rev. Wright quoting former Ambassador Edward Peck.
Let it go GOP.......the quote was from a conservative republican former Ambassador.
I did not see it but will try to get more info. Thanks
(Ambassador Ed Peck) who took fire from FOX for stating his beliefs that America had brought the 911 attacks upon itself due to our failed middle east policies... hence, "The Chicken's have come home to roost"
I saw Wright video... Fox is toast!
Buh Bye Cubs!
Republicans thinking that this might be stooping too low? Nah! they'll just think of other ways to be racist, lying and deceitful, without being so blatant.
I find it amazing that they're always crying about a "war on Christianity" and questioning Obama's faith, when their behavior and "morals" are straight out of the Satanic Bible.
I believe the Romney camp knows running against Obama's record is all that is necessary for victory in 173 days. It was hard to run against someone with no record in 2008. All Romney has to do is advertise in Obama's own words what he said he was going to do if elected, and then follow it with what he actually has done the last four years. I will cut the deficit in half in four years is a good one.
Every President says they will cut the deficit in half in 4 years. Bush did, and Romney will say much the same thing. But none even tried except Clinton, and Romney wouldn;t succeed either. For the most part, however, Obama has at least tried to do pretty much what he said.
jock,
The difference is the voters actually believed Obama. He was different. He sounded honest like Jimmy Carter. He could unify the nation. That's why the independents voted for him by 69%. Even some Republicans I know voted for him. If the only excuse he now has is, well, everyone else said the same thing, so I said it, the same independents won't buy into that. Steve Jobs in his biography said pretty that. He said Obama is a smart person, and he voted for him, but he was tired of the excuses.
Road Warrior - and Independents will vote for him again in November. No intelligent Independent is going to vote for Romney.
Obama/Biden 2012
RoadWarrior: Obama said he'd end the wars--He's done it with one and set a timetable for the other. The economy is growing again--the auto industry is here--Bin Laden is not. Those whining about non issues like Wright were never going to vote for Obama in the first place. You better start thinking about 2017 and whether you'll even have a viable party left.
