In this file photos, President Obama folds his notes after speaking at news conference on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, about the latest assertion by his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that criticism of his fiery sermons is an attack on the black church. "I am outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle that we saw yesterday," Obama said and added that Wright's comments do not accurately portray the perspective of the black church.
*** When Willie Horton meets Jeremiah Wright: Here’s today’s political bombshell, courtesy of the New York Times: A GOP-leaning Super PAC funded by the founder of TD Ameritrade and the owner of the Chicago Cubs, Joe Ricketts, is considering a proposal to launch TV ads re-litigating President Obama’s ties to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. And it would be timed to air leading up to the Democratic convention in September. “The $10 million plan, one of several being studied by Mr. Ricketts, includes preparations for how to respond to the charges of race-baiting it envisions if it highlights Mr. Obama’s former ties to Mr. Wright, who espouses what is known as ‘black liberation theology.’ The group suggested hiring as a spokesman an ‘extremely literate conservative African-American’ who can argue that Mr. Obama misled the nation by presenting himself as what the proposal calls a ‘metrosexual, black Abe Lincoln.’” How did the New York Times get its hands on this proposal? “A copy of a detailed advertising plan was obtained … through a person not connected to the proposal who was alarmed by its tone. It is titled ‘The Defeat of Barack Hussein Obama: The Ricketts Plan to End His Spending for Good.’”
The Daily Rundown's Chuck Todd talks about a New York Times report, which suggests that a Republican Super PAC is considering a proposal to launch TV ads tying President Barack Obama to Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
*** Five immediate thoughts about this story: One, the advertising campaign -- if it aired -- would consume the Obama-Romney race for a week or more. Forget the economy, the deficit, even gay marriage; this ad would bury everything else. Think Swift Boats on steroids. Two, it’s questionable the campaign would work. While we know that there are conservatives who want to portray Obama as a socialist tied to people who hate America, his actual record over the past four years -- championing legislation that once had GOP support (stimulus, health-care reform, even cap-and-trade) and killing Osama bin Laden – doesn’t back-up the conspiratorial narrative portrayed in this plan. Keep in mind that Rev. Wright is a regular talking point on conservative media outlets (whether on TV or on radio), so this could be the result of a confirmation bias. How this would play with swing voters and how this could fire up a Democratic base that isn’t yet at 2008 levels is higher risk than the folks considering this may realize. Three, it’s clear that Ricketts, who’s fresh off helping Deb Fischer win the Nebraska Senate primary, wants to be a big political players. But question: Does the owner of the Chicago Cubs want to attack the world’s most famous man from Chicago? Four, this story is going to force Romney, the RNC, and others to have to comment. And five, while it might surprise you, this is really the first time the issue of race has been introduced into the 2012 contest. At least for a day or two, we’re going down the race rabbit hole…
*** Romney closes the gap: And now for the news that would have been today’s top political story if not for that New York Times piece above… A new poll out of Wisconsin and fresh fundraising numbers show that Mitt Romney is beginning to close the gap in a hurry after he wrapped up the GOP nomination a month ago. First, a Marquette Law School poll (conducted May 9-12) shows that President Obama and Romney are tied at 46% among likely voters; back in April, Obama led by four points in this survey. (The poll also shows Scott Walker with a six-point lead over Tom Barrett in the June 5 Wisconsin recall.) Romney needs industrial Midwestern states in play. His path to 270 counts on winning one or more of WI/OH/PA/MI. In addition, the Romney camp is announcing that it and the RNC raised $40.1 million in April, almost equaling the $43.6 million Team Obama and the DNC hauled in last month. What’s more, the Romney folks are reporting that they have more than $60 million in the bank. We always assumed this race would tighten after Romney became the presumptive nominee. But how quickly it has occurred -- especially on the fundraising front -- is very good news for the GOP. One thing worth noting: The RNC is refusing to comment until the FEC report is filed whether their $20 million-plus transfer is reflected in the new cash-on-hand number for Romney. That probably means yes.
*** “Mittness Protection Program” returns? So that’s the good news for Team Romney. The bad news is that they received plenty of blowback yesterday after the campaign prevented reporters from asking the candidate questions on the rope line. News outlets have been simmering about this issue behind the scenes for weeks, but it became public yesterday. The campaign later called that restriction “an error,” and Romney himself yesterday visited the back of the plane to briefly chat with the reporters following him -- an effort to calm any tension with the press corps. But the incident does highlight how the campaign is trying to protect him from tough questions (like on Bain Capital), and it harks back to the “Mittness Protection Program” narrative from last summer. Case in point: Romney yesterday answered questions about Bain Capital in an interview with a prominent conservative blogger, not the reporters who are actually covering him. No doubt that Romney has conducted plenty of interviews and town halls since last summer. But you do get the sense that Romney appears to be running out the clock rather than answering tough questions. Hence this quote from a foreign-policy adviser in a Sunday New York Times piece about his undefined foreign-policy views: “Romney doesn’t want to really engage these issues until he is in office.”
*** A fired-up Biden: For the second day in a row, Vice President Biden campaigns in Ohio (at 11:15 am ET in Martin’s Ferry). And yesterday, he was fired up and ready to go. In fact, this was the “fire and brimstone” Biden of 1987. It’s a reminder that when he’s on, he can talk to Joe Sixpack and be a big political asset to Team Obama.
*** Elsewhere on the trail: Also today, Romney remains out in Florida, where he holds an event in Jacksonville at 2:35 pm ET. And the Obama campaign is launching its Veterans & Military Families for Obama today, while the RNC is hitting Biden on coal.

All I will say on the Jerimiah Wright story is this, if they think this is such a good idea it is also going to open up the can of worms on Willard being a
moronMormon. After all, what is good for the goose and all...
He can't hide forever...
I am not counting of the MSM to do their jobs and ask tough questions, the appear to be terrified of Willard & his posse!
But the thing is he can't Willard can not skip out of the debates - it is there the rubber will meet the road!
99-0
That would be the Senate vote to reject the Obama budget. It was only 97-0 last year so the president's ideas are falling on even more deaf ears this time around. Too bad Obama won't get a chance to make it 100-0 next year. That would surely have been a Guiness level record, but the folks aren't likely to give him the chance.
So in the grand scheme of things, what does all of this really mean? It means that it's not just Republicans who reject this president's idea of a budget, but every Senate Democrat as well. And one big reason they do that is because they know the president's plan doesn't go far enough to restore fiscal balance.
Indeed, the CBO analysis of the president's FY13 budget shows the debt increasing by another $6 trillion in their analytic window. Add that to the $5 trillion in debt Obama has already accumulated and we have this president on record as proposing policies that will accumulate more debt than all previous presidents combined. That inconvenient truth is downright radioactive, and even Democrats don't want to go anywhere near it.
All of this plays nicely for Romney. He's been out on the hustings preaching the dangers of the president's "prairie fire of debt" and even using a debt clock to drive home the point. That's a great message supported by a powerful visual that everyone can understand. So keep up the good work Mitt, and one day you will be able to put together a sensible budget that can Congress can actually support.
DEMOCRATS ARE COWARDS & LIARS
After November, Congressional Democrats plan massive tax increases and crippling defense cuts. The reason they are waiting is that voters will plainly see that the stage for fiscal catastrophe has been set by the Obama administration.
“After the presidential and congressional elections this November, a lame-duck Congress will address an impending fiscal calamity. Without action, the Bush tax cuts once again are set to expire at the end of the year....
Heritage Foundation senior fellow and former Treasury Department tax economist J.D. Foster recently warned that on New Year's Day, 'some $494 billion in tax hikes will crash down on America's taxpayers and economy' -- not just the expiration of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts that gave us a boom and cut unemployment to under 5%, but 'a jump in the payroll tax rate,' 'the return of the death tax,' 'a bigger, badder' Alternative Minimum Tax, and the tax hikes for ObamaCare. “
“This is a gift-wrapped campaign present for Mitt Romney and all those running for Congress this year who believe in prosperity and fiscal responsibility. ...
Obama and congressional Democrats refuse to do anything to defuse the economy's ticking fiscal time bomb before the November election. Romney and congressional Republicans should be asking every day between now and the election: Why, aside from politics, are we waiting?" – Investor’s Business Daily
The only hope for America is to rid this government of liberal progressive nut jobs in positions of power. Vote them out NOW! Oh, there will still be those on here who believe their “faux” power means something or their despicable lies and inane reasoning mean something to readers other than themselves but that’s okay. Let the circle jerk continue. Start preparing your excuses as to why the WI recall failed, why Elizabeth Warren will lose to Brown and why Romney and conservatives will be swept into office by a landslide in November.
This administration will stoop to nothing to win re-election but everything is backfiring in their face. The new code word is “bully”. How kindergarten is that? I believe the predictions that in the final desperation strategy when this administration realizes all hope is lost, Obama will start a war with another country just to try to hold on. I don’t put it past him.
Republicans are now admitting President Bill Clinton had it right. "It's the economy, stupid." Republicans are so certain he was right that they threaten to crash the economy by refusing to raise the debt ceiling. That guarantees President Obama loses the election and Ken and Barbie's favorite party guy wins. Of course, that means the country crashes, but that's OK. Republicans win. Honestly! They actually believe this.
They believe this because they do not understand the economy. (Most Democrats don't understand the it either, but they're not deliberately trying to destroy the world.) For starters, it is absurd to think the crash is going to cure all Republican financial ills, while visiting destruction solely on Democrats, lefties, liberals, and whomever else they don't like. Republicans believe our economy is some sort of rigid structure that behaves according to inviolable and inflexible laws. That is beyond naive. Only one law governs the economy - The Law of Supply and Demand. That's it.
Right-wingers cannot grasp this fact and the idiots who pretend to be journalists feed this nonsense. Each and every day we can expect to be treated to a barrage of worthless statistics, which will be mindlessly repeated by the Joe HAHAHA's, the Fairfax Bill's, and the Snookie Jo's. The unemployment rate is such and such. Jobless claims are up. Quarterly profits are down. Productivity is up. GNP is crashing. Growth is stagnant. What the hell does that mean? Not a damned thing. That's what.
Fifty years ago, the debate was whether a full-employment economy meant two-per-cent or three-per-cent unemployment. In a few years those numbers moved up. Was it three-per-cent or four-per-cent? Today, we have a very large group of professional hand-wringers who debate whether it's seven-per-cent or more, or less, or guess what? We don't know.
Republicans only think they know. They don't understand we live in a dynamic and volatile economy. The numbers of today cannot be based on what happened yesterday. Has anyone noticed there's no demand for Prairie Schooners? Unemployment is 100% at Prairie Schooner factories across the nation. The ripple effect has hit wagon wheel producers and now is affecting the trail guide industry. Demand for salt pork is down.
Today, we produce more with less labor. That necessarily means fewer jobs here. Communications and the education that comes with improved communications, have reached a point, where it is more profitable to send jobs off-shore. That necessarily means fewer jobs here. This is the world in which we live today. The Prairie Schooner industry is NOT coming back.
Who knows what the true unemployment rate is? In truth, it really doesn't matter. Maybe we don't need so many workers in the professional work force any more. There's still a vast amount of work that needs to be done though. Maybe that work is right in our own homes. Maybe that work is turned into a job that includes child care, shopping carefully, canning their own goods, handling the chores of the maid and the gardener.
That may not contribute to the GDP or the GNP, or whatever idiotic term the politicos and pundits create. It won't show up in unemployment figures. But it does add a very important measure of wealth - honest-to-goodness wealth.
It should be fun reading all those FR lefty liberal posts today condemning the obstructionist Senate Dems that provided the majority of the 99 votes to defeat Barry’s budget 99-0.
Even funnier is that vote means that not a single member of Congress, all Dems included, cast a vote FOR Barry’s budget.
It tells you a lot about Barry’s governing skills when he can’t even get ONE vote from his OWN party on the most basic responsibility of Congress to pass a budget. Not even Dem hack blowhards like Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Durbin, Clyburn, and Schumer. Romney has his flaws, but, Barry has proven he’s not up to the job of being President.
Senate games: All budgets go down
By: Scott Wong
May 16, 2012 06:13 PM EDT
The Senate became a political staging ground for meaningless budget votes on Wednesday, as five different budget plans spanning a range of fiscal ideologies failed, the latest chapter in Washington’s dysfunctional spending wars.
First up was the House Republican budget, authored by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), which failed on a 41-58 roll call with five Republicans joining all Democrats in voting no. It was a replay of last year, when the Senate defeated Ryan’s budget 40-57.
The most obvious political vote of the session was a 0-99 roll call on President Barack Obama’s budget blueprint — which was offered by Republicans. While that tally is sure to become fodder for campaign ads, Democrats dismissed it as a political stunt since there was no real policy language attached to the Obama budget.
Three other budget blueprints, offered by tea-party Sens. Pat Toomey, Mike Lee and Rand Paul, also were rejected in lopsided votes.
For a third straight year, Senate Democrats refused to offer a budget resolution of their own — opening themselves to criticism that they’re dodging tough decisions in an election year. But Democrats argued that no budget is needed since spending levels were already set by last summer’s bipartisan debt deal.
In a move to embarrass the president, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions decided to offer a Democratic budget of his own: Obama’s fiscal 2013 blueprint.
It was unanimously rejected, meaning not a single member of Congress voted for the plan this year. In late March, Obama’s budget was rejected on a 0-414 roll call in the House, though White House officials have maintained those proposals failed to include any policy details.
I have discovered the root of this country’s problem. In 2008 this country thought it was hiring BDO to straighten out the financial woes and all we got was BHO – a cheap empty-suited imitation.
Bill,
5 GOP Senators voted against the Ryan budget.
It failed 41-58.
Obama’s budget was, once again like in the House, numbers only with no allocation to any program.
All 5 budget proposals failed in the Senate yesterday.
Feisty,
What is wrong with this picture? The system is rotten.
What does Reverend Wright have to do with anything? What about all the scandals involving politicians and right wing pastors over the years?
Why is the Right so bigoted, abusive, and narrow-minded -- while claiming to espouse the teachings, practices and love of an (enlightened) man called Jesus?
410-0 - The House vote on Obama's budget.
Congress rejects Obama's budget 509-0.
Even Bush was able to pass budgets with an antagonistic Democrat Congress.
If you haven't figured it out yet, we're starting to see the real problem in Washington, the real reason nothing significant gets done, the real reason spending is out of control, the real reason the economy is dead in the water. And he sits in the Oval Office, but not for much longer.
Hmm, so the Obama camp tried to bribe Jeremiah Wright to keep his mouth shut. Interesting. Ed Klein's book is a great read.
Unfortunately I believe that this will be true even if the Republicans win. What the Democrats are not saying is that these tax increases will have to be accompanied by deep cuts in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
There was a chart on MJ today showing that the US government is spending almost double per person than Greece. $5K more than Italy, and more than any of the so called PIGS. We may be a rich country but what we are spending is unsustainable and though the left may mock the Speaker at least he is sounding the alarm.
Paraphrases:
I disagree with Obama on defense.
I can be taxed at 100 percent and it won't help the economy.
Barack Obama is an amateur.
PRESIDENT WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON.
Don't know Backhouse, but if the Washington Post is printing stories about Romney's school days there must be something to it. I wonder if Romney attended Reverend Wright's church would the NY Times and Washington Post have reports on the content of his sermons?
What do you think?
That's nice, Joe...except the Senate did not vote on the President's budget yesterday.
They voted on this document that was submitted by Sen. Jeff Sessions of Mississippi...

That Rickett ‘s guy son is gay. I wonder how does it feel about his dad tying to taint our Presaident? Ricketts spent a lot on Sharon Angle and wanted the tax payers here in Chicago to cough up the money for his purchase of Wrigley Field.
Sharon Angle??? That says it all. He is a whacked out tea bagger. I wonder how much has he given to the Deadbeat Dad in our state?
BTW: Tea bagger participation is down. This is gonna backfire. KKKlanity is also pushing the Ed Klien book about our President ‘s association with Rev Wright and some bribe or tape. Of course KKKlanity mentions Rev Wright and Bill Ayers every night.
Backhouse,
Talk about desperate!
I say let them run with this - it didn't work in 2008 & it won't work in 2012!
What is does do, is allow us to bring Willard's Mormonism front & center into the discussion, starting with his magic underwear!
It will be tons of fun... ;o)
PS: Apologies for the last line of my comment above, the FR Gremlins are still hanging out on my laptop! GRRR!
Joe in Albany
It should be fun reading all those FR lefty liberal posts today condemning the obstructionist Senate Dems that provided the majority of the 99 votes to defeat Barry’s budget 99-0.

It's was a stunt not a bill!!

A Guide to Recognizing Your Budget Stunts

"It's not a gimmick unless what the President sent us is the same," Mulvaney snarked. "We are voting on the President's budget. I would encourage the Democrats to embrace this landmark Democrat document and support it." (Calling a Democratic effort a "Democrat" effort is a minor swipe.)
As House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi succinctly explained at the time, "It was a caricature of the president's budget, so we voted against it."
Just as they did in March in the House of Representatives, Republicans forced a vote on a bill that was supposed to resemble the president's budget, but wasn't actually the president's budget. A Republican Senator submitted it, and called for the vote.

Got that JOEE and the rest of you righties???
So the next time you want to snicker because Democratocs voted "NO" make sure you know the difference between what is a real Bill and what is "NOT" a real Bill.
Obama/Biden 2012
RIP
Mary Kennedy
"We believe the free market is one of the greatest forces for progress in human history; that businesses are the engine of growth; that risk-takers and innovators should be rewarded." --Barack Obama. OMG -- that's about a dozen Pinocchio's.
So, Hussein told Jeremiah Wright that he "tells the truth" and all we get here is Mormon bashing. It's not surprising that liberals see no peoblem with someone saying "God Damn America" and that 9/11 was "America's chickens coming home to roost." This coming from Obama's mentor of 20 friggin' years. It's gonna be great to get a real American back in the White House in January.
The "free market" is what they call it, and it's what we got.
And the have-nots get screwed over to the Max, by those who feel free to care only for their profit margins.
Let's face it, the real source of the idealogical divide in the world comes down to the choices we've made as individuals in our lives. Those who have made poor choices need to rationalize why those of us who have made good choices need to bail them out.
What we have is uncontrolled spending soon to be followed by uncontrolled taxing. The Obama tax cuts of 2010 expire in 2013. That will raise payroll taxes on ever worker in the country. In addition the Social Security cut will also expire adding more of a burden to the taxpayer. If the Supreme Court allows Obamacare to proceed, that will place additional taxes on the taxpayers. And those that are so unlucky to be in Democratic controlled states like California, who have massive tax increase initiatives on the ballot this fall, will also see their state income tax increase up to 13% from 10%.
It's been explained to Obama and the Democrats that there are consequences to their massive unfunded spending, but they haven't listened. Now the taxes are coming due for all of the Democrats follies, and there are not enough rich people to pay from them all. And all this happening in a slow/no growth economy.
So to complain about the debt ceiling is like complaining about the wind. It doesn't matter, and it won't matter until the government cuts its spending. As the very Reverend Jeremiah Wright says: The chickens, they're coming home to roost.
Feisty,
I don't think most people see being a Mormon is comparable to a pastor saying all the anti-American and anti-Semitic things Wright had said over the years. Can you imagine an ad with Wright screaming God Damn America and the chickens have come home to roost the day after 9/11, followed by a photo of Obama and his family sitting in the church?
Nasty redhead
Do you have a problem with Mormons? Please explain exactly what will be acomplished with bringing up Mitt's "Mormonism". And please include our Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, in your list of problems since he is also a Mormon and a moron.
I would like to see the Republicans just come out and say it is time for ALL of the tax cuts to expire. We need EVERYBODY paying their fir share.
WOW. My apologies. When I saw that the headline read "Jeremiah Wright", I assumed that the story was going to be Wright's new allegations that Obama paid him $150,000 to stay quiet, and that Obama's only problem with Wright was that he was "always had to tell the truth." My bad. I should have known that MSNBC, one of the liberal networks that worked so hard to FRAME George Zimmerman, would NEVER bring that up.
As for Willie Horton. It would be GREAT if Wright CAN be turned into another Willie Horton. Democrats will piss and moan as always...which will of course, make it even better.
I think this $10M ad buy would be a mistake. There are much better ways to spend $10M that close to the election. I'm guessing this is some sort of reaction to the Washington Post piece. The idea being that if high school is fair game then Rev. Wright is fair game. Problem is that most people already know about Rev. Wright..and honestly, I think most people haven't been influenced by the Romney WaPo story, which is already fading. This ad buy would only serve as a distraction from the issues and would backfire. Spend it on an issues related ad instead. Just my $0.02.
Mr. Chuck Todd will be appearing on Jeopardy this evening by the way. (Learned last night that Chris Wallace of FOX News is freaking insanely smart. He was scary good at Jeopardy). Good luck!! :-)
Feisty...you have a serious Gremlin issue. All I know about Gremlins is they come with rules...no water, no sunlight, and no feeding after midnight!!
There's you problem - you don't think!
Wait until mainstream America gets a whiff of a cult passing itself off as a religion!
Hey - I say, if the tea baggers want to go there - BRING IT!
We're waiting... ;o)
We've got posters here with more than one account. You can look at the avatar pictures and names and see that.
What desperation that Republican have to pad the voting here by having people have more than one account.
Moderators, please look at the IP addresses of the posters and limit them to one account please!
I fully expect this post to be scuttled, and if it is it proves my point.
Another "leaked" un-sourced story, this time in the New York Times (Is there a doubt who they'll endorse?). Just the Distraction of the Week for the media/Democrats/Obama (they're all the same) who want to talk about anything but Obama's pitiful record.
Harry Reid will be so disappointed to hear this. So will Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. Sen. Tom Udall, D-New Mexico, Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, Rep. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nevada, Rep. Wally Herger, R-Calif., and Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho.
"Romney doesn’t want to really engage these [foreign policy] issues until he is in office.”
What? no talkie about foreign policy until he's elected? What are we voting on then? That's ridiculous!
Nasty redhead
The top Democrat in the US Senate is a Mormon. Is he the democrat "cult" leader?
Feisty,
Romney's classmates talking to the Press about his bullying, victimizing and shouting "Atta Girl";
While claiming he "doesn't remember" cutting a guy's hair off - right in front of everyone in the Common Room:
Is not equivalent to Swiftboaters bringing up a previous swiftboating attempt against Senator Barack Obama in 2008.
The Right wing is full of false equivalencies, but LIES are ALL they got. Everyone knows what Crossroads and the right wing Super-Pacs are doing is expensive B.S.
Feisty Dumbfux, if America had no problem electing a Socialist who has spent his life being taught to hate America and "doesn't speak in a negro dialect" (quote from Mormon Harry Reid), you really think they're going to have a problem with a Mormon?
Why, I don't believe he is running for President though... lol
Matter of fact, he's not even up for re-election in November.
The way you all hate on Harry now - what difference does it make?
Yes, but its the gay "hair cutting", foreign policy silencing, no specifics ever on the economy, Romney that is the presumptive nominee.
This ad campaign will def. open the discussion of Romney's religion. Many people, especially in the Southen States do think it is a cult. Re litigating Wright is grabbing straws. Here's what happens, Super PAC launches the ad campaign, Obama's team forces Romney to own it and say he agrees or does not. The Mormon "can of worms" gets opened. A week or more Romney is forced to talk about something he'd rather not. Romeny can't talk about foreign policy, social issues or anything else but the economy. When he does, he comes off as partisan and a little uninformed (war with Iran anyone?). He's been campaigning on his business savy......but now has to answer some hard questions, so he clams up. Shocker. All these companies Bain shuttered while the big dogs got thier money and screwed everyone else is really gonna hurt. 200 here, 800 there lost jobs and pensions and benefits. Those people have extended families and friends. It speads like a virus. This is not gonna be good for Romney. Of course, he can always go to the friendly media for softball questions and can say whatever he wants to, about every 8 hours or so. The problem is, people watching/listening to those sources are already gonna vote for him. In my view, Romney is a severly flawed candidate.....and did anyone see the Herman Cain endorsement? Can you believe he was running for President? That was some of Romney's primary "competition" he couldn't seem to laugh off. Wonder if that endorsement will help or hurt him?
Eric, quit your whining and go back to copying and pasting Ricky Martin photos for your screen saver.
Damaged, "Frame" George Zimmerman? The real world outside the bubble is calling....
You're avatar has a picture of Obama kissing....who is that? Rick Santorum?
Hey Feisty, I'm atheist. Unlike most liberals, I am not afraid of someone's religion. Isn't it the libs who always talk about tolerance and about bigotry? You guys are going down hard in my state of NC. Romney is trailing Obama 10%. The Democrat governor is not running for re-election after just one term. What do you supposed she is afraid of? Are you Dems still planning on having your convention in Charlotte? LOL
Ben-636050
And you have the gall to say that right before spewing your big pack of lies.
Lie. No, they're not planning "massive" tax increases on anyone.
Lie. The Bush tax cuts led to the worst economic crisis since the great depression and the current budget deficit. And while the employment rate did reach below 5% 3 years after Bush's disastrous tax cuts, the rate was under 4% during Clinton's presidency. Clinton was the guy who RAISED taxes, leading to warnings from Republicans that the tax hikes would plunge the country into another great recession when the exact opposite happened.
Repost from an earlier collapse. You proved my point about Democrats being cowards!!

Why are we still talking about Jeremiah Wright? the president no longer attends that church. If we are going to go after the president for where he worshiped.. then i also agree that going after Romney's Morman past and his family's compound in Mexico is also fair game but at the same time both are irrelevant.
And why are we dodging reporters now. Romney looked like he was a criminal being escorted in/out of a court house. Just give us the facts about your ideas Mitt! you cant ask us to vote for you when you have no specific ideas and all your so called expert advisors are the same so called expert advisors from the previous administration
The irony here is the influx of cash from these PACs is actually stimulating the economy, which makes whatever message the GOP is trying to potray as irrelevant to the the average voter. I'm not sure this is what they envisioned by trickle down economics. In the case of PAC money, be careful what you wish for because you might get it.
I see a lot of posts about the "reckless" Democratic spending and the "massive" taxes that are coming. I don't see any of those "catastrophic" actions in Obama's economic plan, and I don't see any solutions offered by Mitt Romney or any other Republican.
Several bipartisan organizations have reviewed Romeny's plan and they all agree that it's combination of tax cuts and military spending increases will make the deficit substantially worse.
The Romney and Ryan plans both contain include calls for unspecified "spending cuts" to offset their tax increases, but neither offer any substantive details. This means they either plan to cut Social Security and Medicare by significant amounts or they are lying about the spending cuts.
Democrats have been called "tax and spend", but the Reagan/Bush years "tax cut and spend" has proven to be far worse for the economy and the deficit.
How about a biprtisan approach as offered last year of "tax increases and spending cuts"?
JoAnnaSmith1
If you haven't figured it out yet, we're starting to see the real problem in Washington, the real reason nothing significant gets done, the real reason spending is out of control, the real reason the economy is dead in the water. And he sits in the Oval Office, but not for much longer.
Apparenty, you haven't firgued it out; Sniffy!
It was not a bill; it was a STUNT!!!
President Obama did not send it to Congress. It is not the same. Republicans changed the number on the zoombie bill. You know how RepubliCONS are always pulling some strange sh!t!!!!
RepubliCONS will do anything to cause a distraction in the news cycle except doing their jobs.
That 's why both Democratcs and Republicans voted against it.

Romney has had everything in life, why does he want to be president? so that he can earn the distinction as 'srewing up the country and screwing you over as vulture capitalist'?
carrot top likes to call anyone who is opposed to Obama a bigot! I contend that carrot top is the real bigot here, and she exposes herself as one every day! Obama's relationship with the Rev. Wright should really have been discussed back in 2008, but now we find there was a coverup and for the past 4 years the old liberal media has pretty much ignored all of Barry's mistakes... including that relationship, but recent polls would suggest the public hasn't forgotten:
In matchups against Mitt Romney, the president is leading by only 47 to 45 percent in the realclearpolitics.com average of recent polls. A CBS/New York Times panelback poll, in which interviewers call back respondents to a previous survey, showed Romney leading 46 to 43 percent -- and leading among women.
It seems like all of Barry's attacks on Romney are backfiring on him.....
Hey, and make sure you re-post this very important Truth:

Senate games: Every budget goes down

The series of votes Wednesday followed six hours of floor debate in which Democrats and Republicans traded election-year barbs over which party has been more fiscally reckless. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) charged that the GOP plans would “cut the heart out of the middle class,” while Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) dissed the Democrats’ budget approach as “duck and cover.”
But moderate senators from both parties agreed that the budget process itself is broken and in desperate need of an overhaul. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), who is retiring this year and voted no on all five budgets, lamented that leaders only agreed to hold up-or-down votes with no opportunity for unlimited debate or amendments.
“It’s a slap-dash method of legislating,” she told POLITICO.
Another retiring senator, Joe Lieberman, noted that Congress hasn’t passed a budget resolution since 2009 and that 1996 marked the last time lawmakers passed all appropriations bills prior to the start of the fiscal year.
“The existing budget process has broken down. It doesn’t work,” Lieberman, a Connecticut independent who caucuses with Democrats, said on the floor.
The Ryan budget, Democrats protested, would undo much of the debt-limit compromise negotiated by congressional leaders last August. In addition to privatizing Medicare, it would set 2013 discretionary spending below levels already agreed to and spare the Pentagon from billions of dollars in automatic cuts.
“House Republicans are not only trying to re-litigate the Budget Control Act — they want to pretend it never happened,” said Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), who was involved in deficit talks last fall as co-chair of the failed supercommittee.
Ryan, the House Budget Committee chairman, shot back that Republicans have offered bold plans to rein in federal spending, while Democrats have skirted their responsibility.
“The fact that no Senate Democrat has voted in favor of a single budget resolution on the Senate floor in over three years is among the most embarrassing spectacles in Washington,” Ryan said in a statement.
But the GOP plans saw some defections. Four moderate Republicans, Sens. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Dean Heller of Nevada, and Susan Collins and Snowe, both of Maine, voted against all four GOP budgets, while Paul cast a “no” vote on the Ryan plan because it didn’t cut enough.
The Toomey budget failed on a 42-57 vote. The Paul and Lee budgets, which balance more quickly than the Ryan and Toomey plans, failed 16-83 and 17-82, respectively.
Brown and Heller are facing tough reelections this fall, and both blasted the round of budget votes as a political stunt. “Politics as usual,” decried Brown. A “charade,” Heller called it.
For Snowe, the GOP budgets changed the Medicare and Medicaid programs too drastically — a frequent complaint of Democrats.
“Those are significant departures from the current programs and I’m a full supporter of the Medicare program,” Snowe said in an interview. “It needs to be addressed for the future, absolutely. But we don’t have to go with a situation that essentially privatizes Medicare.”

This a classic example of the games people play in Congress, and then they blame the President and or the Democrats.
I still have not seen racist clips of Romneys preacher yet!
Damaged: Thou dost protest anti-gay too much.... if you're an idiot, which seems likely, that means "YOU must be the one who is gay" Not that there is anything wrong with it if you are, but you're being an a-hole for going on about it.
Why are you so worried then?
yosolo, actually carrot top Doesn't have anything else to do other than trolling her favorite truck stops, first read is just about her whole life. She feeds on the hatred of the left and FR is a good source of that food.
I understand the relationship between the tax cuts and the deficit but you'll have to enlighten me on how the Bush tax cuts led to the worst economic crisis since the great depression. If this true then President Obama is culpable for continuing the policies that caused this recession as he extended these tax cuts. If what you say is true should the President's first action on being elected not to repeal the cause of the great depression? Why is he continuing this destructive policy?
BTW If you try and argue it was to extend unemployment benefits then your argument is illogical as by ending the tax cuts he would have alleviated unemployment instead of agreeing to a policy that would continue it. Further, the tax cuts in the stimulus as argued for by Christina Romner, and the payroll tax cuts, would indicate that economists in the Administration do not agree with your premise.

Feisty Dumb Fux, if America had no problem electing a Socialist who has spent his life being taught to hate America and "doesn't speak in a negro dialect" (quote from Mormon Harry Reid), you really think they're going to have a problem with a Mormon?
Ohh, you think Our President can't get down in Negro Dialect? Did you hear him do a little street talk at the White House correspondents dinner?
I know President Obama is not worried about Mormonism or Rev Wright
Check this out. Like Jayze said. 99 problems and what you say ain't one of them.
Neither Wafer-Thin Mitt, frothy vanila bean Santorum, Candy 999 Cain, a Michelious Fruitcake nor a Pig-Newt-on matter!

Osama's dead GM lives
The Jeremiah storyline did not work in 2008, it won't work 2012. Actually it's counterproductive, and going to bite conservatives who will regret it in the end.
Aren't the democrats on this site the gate keepers of truth? What's wrong with finding some truth about Obama?
Pigotry
This is politics, nobody regrets a thing in politics. If they did we wouldn't have a record debt and arguments to put us further in debt.
Geo-1957883 - You said that you still haven't seen racist clips from Romney's preacher yet...well maybe that has to do with cameras not being allowed... but what about the faith itself...it banned African Americans
But...all in all I think its great!! bring up J. Wright and then Romney will be forced to answer some questions about his own faith like.. how Mormons can become gods and goddesses, that Goddesses will spend eternity in full submission to their god-husband (like that one ladies?), Mormon women will give birth "forever and ever" to spirit-babies (no time to rest now), Mormon men can have multiple wives in heaven-eternal (Yeh, Baby), the Heavenly Father is an exalted man who lives with his goddess wife, Heavenly Mother, on a planet near the great star Kolob (does a space ship pick them up when they leave Earth?), the American Indians are descendants of the wicked Lamanites, who were Israelites that God cursed with dark skin, God the Father had sex with Mary to conceive Jesus, who is the half brother of Lucifer, they believe that All Christian churches are an abomination (so take that Religious Right!), Mormons need 4 secret handshakes to get into the Celestial heaven (So it's more like a Fraternity!) and Joseph Smith revealed that the actual Garden of Eden is in Jackson County, Missouri (so all lfe began here and yet the only people who live here before the Europeans arrived were Native Indians...Hum.....)but the one I like is that Mormon men marry dead women...so they can live up to their faith of having multiple wives (guess that makes for a really gross honeymoon.... LOL)
But I don't think we'll have any such luck as Mittens has adopted the "Sarah Palin" approach to running for office... AVOID THE PRESS!!! DON'T ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS!!!! SPEAK TO NO ONE!!!! this way we can't discover just how stupid they really are or how they'll continue the Bush Legacy of screwing up the country and screwing US!!!
I case no one knows... Romneys big claim to fame... Staples, well Bain only invested 635K and was bought out when the company went public and had only 40 stores - hardly the success they are today! and when Bain was requested to fund the company, Romney voted NO - 3 times before others had convinced him to approve the capital investment... guess Mittens doesn't know how to fund a company...just over-leverage and bankrupt them!
@DaNoid #1.13,
Go back to school..... Senator Jeff Sessions is not from Mississippi.
If I remember correctly, the Jeremiah Wright story had already been used against Obama in the 2008 campaign. It didn't work then, so what makes them think it would work now?
Mississippi...Alabama...whatever.
...so long as someone from the Republican side of the aisle will acknowledge that what was voted on yesterday WAS NOT the President's budget.
Is that why Clinton had to raid the Social Security Fund just to make his budget look balanced and surplussed? Impressive!
By the way, there is something that is often overlooked in discussions like this. At the end of Clinton's second term, when the economy suddenly got a boost, Congress was dominated by Republicans, forcing him to compromise on various issues.
By way of contrast, when Bush served his second term, Congress was dominated by Democrats and the economy crashed.
For the record, Congress controls the budget and purse strings of the United States. See a pattern here? :)
Going after Obama by bringing up Jeremiah Wright is going to be Mitt's downfall. He has skeletons in his closet that are about to start falling out. He will regret the day he started all this.
And, for those worried about Feisty's postings, how sad you have the time to track her every move. Says a lot about you guys - none of it good.
The insanity of the GOP continues! After all, you guys have Damage; JoAnnaSmith; etc. Total insanity!
Obama/Biden 2012
why is fiesty so interested in getting into romneys underwear? Ain't she got her own undies for her mates on here, they are all buried up her arse, must be not enough satifaction getting done in that area. Maybe there is no room for Jermiah wright in there right now...move over someone.
Damage, I felt the same. I thought MSNBC actaully was printing a story about the new write interview tapes. Should've known better after all, it would confuse the minions momentarily...but then they would just go on as if nothing new came to light. But I'm going there anyway.
If Write doesn't matter why did the barack camp bribe him to shut the hell up about baracks history with him.
If Write is no big deal why did barack attend his "church" for 20 years and then claim he didn't know much about the things taught there? Is he lying or maybe just that stupid that in 20 years he didn't learn anything.
The interview tapes tell a whole new story but the ignorance displayed on this thread by the libs just demonstrate that all the evidence in the world will not make them break ties with their lord and savior barack hussein obama, mmm, mmm, mmm. Allow me to speak in your language; Baaaah, baaaaah, baaaaah little brainless drooling sheep.
Baaaaah, baaaah, baaaarack hussein is a lying American-hating piece of garbage con-man who spent all of his life learning and planning how to tear this country down and make it something his puppet masters want and somehow ("because he's such a nice man") convinced the deaf, dumb and blind that he was ready to represent them.
Beverly, you know what else is a stunt? You posting in all bold. Another stunt; a bunch of puppet masters saying "lets see if we can get barack elected? Do you think the country is stupid enough to pull it off? Yeah lets try it". Biggest "stunt"/farce of all time. Congratulations you got to participate in it.
Eric; People change avatars occasionaly. If you honestly think this little thread of bull shi$ that we participate in is actually making a difference or if your ego is so out of control that you think the "votes" on this site really matter you're smoking crack. Seriously, put down the pipe...no really, you're going to die from a heart attack man, put it down and walk away.
Speaking of over-inflated out of control ego, and saving the worst for last.
Feisty dead-head: Did you really just invite tea-baggers to "bring it"? I think you did, in fact I know you did. Well it looks like you haven't changed since high school. Not only willing, but actually inviting tea-bagging. Interesting how infatuated some of you female libs are with tea-baggers and tea-bagging in general. Were your drooling followers into tea-bagging before they met you or did you teach them the proper methods of tea-bagging? Do you often solicit tea-baggers on line? If so why don't you share your website and number with the vine so the rest of your minions can learn about tea-bagging as well. How long have you studied tea-bagging? Do you charge a fee when teaching people the inner workings of tea-bagging or do you simply do it because you love it so much? Just a few questions that I'm sure the tea-baggers on the vine would like you to answer before they "bring it" to you.
@Beverly of Chicago. you state
"BTW: Tea bagger participation is down. This is gonna backfire. KKKlanity is also pushing the Ed Klien book about our President ‘s association with Rev Wright and some bribe or tape. Of course KKKlanity mentions Rev Wright and Bill Ayers every night."
Don't believe it, I have gone to 7 different Tea party gatherings several times in the last 2 months in the last meetings of each group more than doubled. What has changed is their organization and direction when it comes to working elections. May I remind you, that in 2010 the dems said the same thing, "Tea party numbers down, they will not be a factor", and you saw what happened from their efforts in 2010. But if you desire to believe that the Tea party will not be a significant player in the 2012 elections, you just keep on believing it (lol).
@feisty redhead... if my choice is that of black liberation theology+muslim or Mormon, I will pick the mormon, The way I see it, followers of black liberation theology which is not only a cult but a racist cult as well as is Islam, both are cults of hatred, I will pick the Mormon please.
Seeking, or as you've become "my little money maker". I've got to find another sucker to place some bets on you. Thank you again, that was the best day I've had on the vine.
It's funny, (not really, I thought I'd just follow suit with you guys always laughing at yourselves) I see you on nearly every post I see the dead-head on and I see you coming to her defense almost every time. Are you tracking every move she makes or do you just have a crush on her? Ahhh, what do I care? Germany fell, Japan fell, the USSR collapsed, the South fell, Sadam's dead,
obamaosama's dead. The pattern is; most of the time good wins over evil. So stand beside her as you wish, just have a good therapist lined up ready to go, but it sounds like you use one already.Justreadd
It's because she read the panties statement somewhere recently and was most likely burned by a similar statement. So because she's not capable of anything coming up with anything cleaver or even remotely her own originality, she finds a little word or statement that worked on her and then uses it over and over again because her hair dye damaged her brain. She also has this thing for "little people" with brain activity....I don't know, she's just a science experiment.
I honestly don't understand what the issue is with Rev. Wright being Obama's preacher when he was growing up. I went to Catholic mass every Sunday and Friday, I went to Catholic school where I was indoctrinated with all of the Catholic beliefs. I even did work in the Church when I had some spare time.
I'm not a Catholic anymore now that I'm old enough to choose where and what I will believe and follow. I'm agnostic and I don't dare tell my father. I'm sure Obama has a similar situation. Not to mention he is even farther removed from Rev. Wright than I am from my Catholic background.
I hope they try to get Obama with this smear campaign, it will backfire and things will end up working like they should; in Obama's favor.
Who cares if Romney is a Mormon besides the religious nuts that were outraged when he was hired to speak at the commencement ceremony of an Evangelical University? I still can't get over these people who speak out of both sides of their mouths (Jesus said love everyone and everyone has value but they treat people who don't share their faith like there is something defective about them and until they see the "light" they will be unclean). I don't like religion, I like spirituality and ethics.
Another thing. I think Democrats know that we can't just raise taxes and I'm really tired of people on here claiming that Ds don't understand that spending has to be cut as well. Dems don't want to cut as deeply as Rs do but they won't cut spending until we raise taxes. I'm not justifying their immovability but it's understandable. We don't want to end up like Greece with massive austerity and watch our economy spin in the drain.
"Obama 2012" !!!! Guaranteed !!!!!!!!!!!! The Mitt will Flip Flop out on his a$$ !!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess we'll have to put up with Obama popping out and telling the country once again the economy is in great shape and "We're working hard every day to improve the jobs situation". Same song and dance as we've been hearing from this goof for 3.5 years now.
At some point it gets to be a joke, and that probably happened 1.5 years ago. People/voters are getting tired of the 'all talk, no walk Obama'. Results Barry. How about some? Or do we have to wait for Romney to take your job before that happens?
LIssen up alll Yew LIBNoids!!!!!!! Jebediah Wrights!!!!! ANchor Babies!!! Mouse at groundt O!!!!!!! Moooslems!!!!!! KENYan!!!! Birf Serifikats!!!!!! Bowing TOur!!!!!!KOMMMIE Rat!!!!!!!! Just SAYIN!!!!!!
Obama is a Metrosexual meaning he has favoritism to Blacks and Gays? I thought we were all to be treated fairly? Damn PAC's can sure change a fine man from Chi town. At least they did not find the tape with Al Sharpton and Jessie J at the picnic.......
My, my. Such a smug and condescending remark, ending with a downright nasty flourish. I'm sure you're quite proud of yourself, but maybe this will help to illuminate you on the truth that I allegedly misrepresented:
"The White House sought to provide cover for Democrats to vote against the Obama budget resolution before the vote, arguing the resolution offered by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) was different from Obama's budget because it did not include policy report language."
Do you know what "policy report language" is, dear? By all means, show us your deep and penetrating insight into the ways of Washington by explaining to us what that language is and why its absence from the budget resolution that went down 99-0 has any meaning whatsoever.
Being the nice guy I am, I'll help you out. It's absence has no meaning because the whole world knows the Senate vote was tantamount to a vote on the president's budget. The White House offered Senate Dems a tiny fig leaf in the form of a lame technicality that grateful Dems (particularly those up for reelection) gleefully grabbed hold of. And this episode was a political "stunt" only from the perspective of those who would move mountains to avoid going on the record in support of Obama's budget.
As for the other budget resolutions offered yesterday, I'll just say this: each of them actually got some votes.
http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/227857-senate-rejects-obama-budget-in-99-0-vote
You aren't going to see this as Mormons do not have preachers, although they sure do have a membership that loves to engage in preaching. Also, church meetings are not filmed for public distribution.
If you would like examples of intolerance and hate in the Mormon church, simply Google Mormon Prop 8, and you will find pages of devious, nefarious, illegal activities undertaken by the Mormon Church. And if you want a history of bigotry concerning the Mormon Church, dig deeper to research genocide against Indians, massacres performed on prairie era wagon trains, and the treatment of dark skinned sinners (Blacks - also known as the abominable mark on the sons of Cain). Of course my favorite goody is the Declaration of War against the United States.
The only morons are the intolerant and bigoted!
If you want to comment on politics then feel free to do so, but your intolerance of certain religions (or possibly all religions) shows why people like you shouldn't be given the right to vote. If you could vote in a president who promotes that same intolerance, you would do it.
We want leaders who have acceptance and tolerance for all people and not leaders who bow and bend to the cries of the loudest voices in the crowd. You may be a loud voice here on MSNBC's message boards, but you are not the only voice that counts.
Dems & Repubs - same crap. In any organizational structure its in the best interest of the parties involved to fuel those resources that provide for them. However, this is a double-edge sword because this selfish act will result in undesirable consequences.
I would sincerely hope that the goverments (not only in the US) would have the Star Trek mantra "We work to better ourselves...and the rest of humanity".
Lots of posts comparing Romneys Mormonism (which I actually do believe is a theological cult) to Obama's 20 years under Wright (who heads up a theological racial cult). If the church Romney frequented spewed the same nutty anti-American, racist blather that Wright apparently did every week, then yes, I would say its a problem for Romney.
I'm not a fan of Mormon teachings (and I know them well), but its ridiculous when forming an opinion concerning a future President of the U.S. to compare the two. Wright is clearly a radical left-wing, anti-American, hate spewing racist nut (I can't even fathom what Obama was thinking sitting thru that dribble, let alone by mentored by it). Mormons have got their problems, but nothing like Wright's Black Liberation Theology, and the multiple recorded weekly sermons that Obama obviously sat thru.
“conservatives who want to portray Obama as a socialist tied to people who hate America, his actual record over the past four years -- championing legislation that once had GOP support (stimulus, health-care reform, even cap-and-trade) and killing Osama bin Laden”
Who does NBC think their kidding? Obama is a socialist just like congressmen who refer to themselves as “Progressive Democrats” (a code name for the card carrying socialist and yes, I said Congressmen). Obama’s programs and his spending all are clear indicators that he and his ideology are socialist. They supposedly hate the rich and want to take their money and give it to those more deserving, Problem is, the more deserving are typically the ones in power. The people never get any of the money. Once the rich are disposed of things go from bad to worse, unemployment skyrockets, inflation skyrockets and eventually the government collapses. Margret Thatcher once said about as correctly as possible “The problem with Socialism is that you soon run out of other people’s money.”
Obama’s record over the past four years has been miserable; when inaugurated the unemployed Americans totaled 12.05 million, today 12.76 million and that is questionable, the total number of jobs was 133.6 million, today 132.4 million, unemployment rate was 7.8%, today 8.3% and again questionable, average gas price was $1.85 gallon, today approaching $4.00 gallon, Americans in poverty 39.8 million, today 46.2 million, federal debt $10.6 trillion, today $15.4 trillion (this alone is a 44% increase) and I could go on and on. I find it hard to believe that this man is anything but a socialist.(numbers were complied February 14, 2012)
“killing Osama bin Laden” come on folks we all know Obama did not kill bin Laden the Navy did! Obama was so disinterested that he was playing golf up until twenty minutes before the bin Laded encounter and had to be persuaded to come to the meeting. His claim to killing bin Laden was giving the “go ahead” and he had to be instructed to give it verbally that nodding won’t do.
Now, I am not a big Romney supporter either but trying to blame him for things he did not do and for things that happened at Bain after he left is totally uncalled for and the worst kind of politics.
Red,
Prop 8 was passed by a majority of Californians (ya know big blue state) and 37 other states have passed similar proclamations asserting marriage as 1 man 1 woman. Why do those of you on the left feel its ok to label those who don't believe the way you do as bigots (a majority of the country and 90% of the world at large)? Seriously, whats wrong with you?
HOUSTON WROTE
First of all the the worst economic recession since the great depression was left by Jimmy Carter, secondly the Bush tax cuts did not lead to the economic crisis that we have today the banking failure did which was caused by sub prime lending instituted by the Democrat party.
Oh and don't forget about the banking bailout bill, signed by Bush yes but written and passed by Democrates in the congress and senate.
Alan NJ:
At least you admit that the Bush tax cuts led to the deficit rather than spouting the fiction about Obama's supposed wild spending spree. The Bush deficits didn't cause the recession, but to borrow a Romney talking point, they made it much worse because it limited the government's ability to control the damage. The stimulus should have been much bigger, and it could have been larger had Bush left Obama with the sort of budget surplus that Clinton left Bush.
Now you're just being dishonest. You know very well that it's the CUMULATIVE debt run up over 8 years that weakened the US economy and the government's ability to address the crisis after Bush's house of cards economy collapsed.
Raising taxes on the middle class during a recession would make it worse, as the Europeans have found out by hard experience. Once again, you're simply trying dodge the fact that Bush should have been building up a surplus during the good times instead of getting the country deep into debt. Were you one of those "fiscal conservatives" back in the '90s who attacked Clinton for his "out-of-control budget budget surpluses?" The Republicans sure solved THAT terrible problem.
Tod, "Why do those of you on the left feel its ok to label those who don't believe the way you do as bigots"
Because, Tod, bigots work to keep those different from themselves down. You can believe in something different, just don't legislate your beliefs at the expense of the rest of us. That, Tod, is government-sanctioned bigotry.
Klein's book has absolutely no bearing on anything. It is a litany of gossip oriented stories that have already been refuted by some of those mentioned. Beyonf that, even if it were true, so what?
If the republicans think that centering Romney's campaign around an increasingly irrlevant Jeremiah Wright is going to give him any points, they should think again. this is warmed over news and the subject is someone who awa appropriately thrown under the bus by President Obama and who is still seeking attention. Does anyon really care what Reverend Wright has to say. Sean Hannity has been singing this tune since Wright's name first came up. He has yet to prove anything sinister about Obama's relationship with Wright.
Wright's comments have virtually all been taken out of context and worse yet by faux patriotic flag pin wearinig conservative commentators. Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh never served their country. Guess what? Reverend Wright dropped out of college to join the Marine Corp. That's right, the Marine Corp. Then after completing his tour of duty, he joined the Navy. Please tell me when Sean and Rush have served anyone but themselves.
President Obama initially supported Reverend Wright. He withdrew his support when Wright would retreat from the limelight and cease being an issue. He had no choice.
Tax cuts and deficits. Tax increases and deficits.
How much history do we need to get it thru our thick heads; neither create deficits. Both scenerios end up bringing in the same revenue. Its spending that matters when you're discussing deficits.
The only difference between tax cuts and tax hikes is that tax cuts (with common sense regulation) stimulate private sector economic growth. Always have, always will!!
While tax increses may temporarily stimulate public sector jobs, clearly they are unstastainable.
Matt-1883244
It would seem that every single economist in the world disagrees with you. There WAS no recession during the Carter presidency. A recession is defined as a contraction of the GDP, but it grew at a high rate during his presidency according to all of these articles:
http://www.forecast-chart.com/graph-gdp-rate.html
http://www.davemanuel.com/2010/08/03/us-gdp-growth-by-president-1948-2009/
http://economyinperspective.com/gdp
Carter's problem was "stagflation," which would be preferable to what Bush left us.
That and the starting the auto bailout were two things that Bush does deserve some credit for. For all of his failings as president, at least he didn't adhere to the insanely rigid right wing ideology in the face of a total meltdown of the global economy.
Jim,
But of course you are right, silly me.
A majority of your fellow countrymen are bigots, 90% of the world's population are bigots, 99.9% of people's human history were bigots. Because they do not accept the wants of 2% of the population. Yep, I stand corrected (or like the silly redhead likes to say "you got spanked")
Bigot; gotta love those emotional/nonsensical words liberals pull out when they have no argument.
Houston, you are correct, Matt shopuld have used the word economy, not recession. That said, I lived thru Carter; and it was much worse than anything of the past 4 years, much!!
Tod, we don't deny people their rights based on a majority vote.
1.36 Feisty
What sheer ignorance is being displayed in these comments.... on both sides.
rightwingwac - I'm sure it's the only money you earn so enjoy it!
Bill in Fairfax -- And your point is??? Apparently you don't understand politics. Your first post is as lame as your rebuttal. Spin away Bill.
David -- Outstanding post!
Nothing wrong with me Todster, I'm not the bigot. Nice deflection though, completely overlooking the illegal activities of the Mormon Church. Are you advocating illegal activities undertaken by the Church that support your position are ok? Ah well, nothing new there - hypocrisy is what we expect from conservatives.
We have an absolutely unqualified person in the white House. Obama had no resume for the job, other then the fact he could read a speech and had a catchy slogan, the man has been the worst president of all time. No ability to lead, to compromise, or to work Washington. Obama did change the way Washington works, he made it a polarized political epicenter where nothing can get done or is even expected too. Hard to say that printing, borrowing, and spending is working for the nation. Hard to say that a massive healthcare take over written in secret locations behind closed doors and rammed down the throats of the American people is working for the nation.
We elected an amateur. A thin skinned crybaby. But someone with totally radical ideas, and none that have worked for the nation. Obama attended the church of Jeremiah Wright for over 20 years. Watch Wright, listen to his words, the man hates America, hates white people, and is by no stretch of the imagination a true racist. It does speak volumes to the quality of anyone's character if they can sit and listen to hate filled sermons for over 20 years. Obama deserves the vetting he will see this time around. Obama can no longer simply vote present and fool the public.
Why does one preclude the other? They both have contributed to the deficit. The last two Administrations, Bush and Obama, have been the most fiscally irresponsible that I can remember.
How much more do want Obama to spend? Over $1T in deficits for every year of his Administration, plus $3T in Quantitative Easing. How exactly has Obama's spending been curtailed? The further half trillion he wanted to spend last year on another jobs stimulus? That was a great idea when the first one was such a success.
You are the first leftie to call the Bush economy the good times. They'll be revoking your DDI membership.
No, I disagreed with Greenspan. I was all for paying down the debt. What a gift to leave to the future.
If you don't get it I am fiscally responsible (not Conservative) regardless of the party in power. Bush sucked and Obama is no improvement.
That is your claim? I would say a lot less are bigoted. Several states in the US, and many countries around the world already allow same-sex marriage. The latest polls in the US show over a 50% approval rating for same-sex marriage. So I would say that somewhere around 45% of my fellow countrymen are bigots, and worldwide, around 60% are bigoted.
Red,
Already said I'm not a fan of the Mormon Church, but unless you have something specific about Romney's actual church (ya know like there is about Obama's), you're comparing apples and oranges. Otherwise, I'm really not interested in discussing how you percieve me as a bigot, cause what's point. "It's like talking to a monkey; he does'nt get it, and he just throws feces back at you"
Jim:
"Tod, we don't deny people their rights based on a majority vote"
That's a red herring, and something worthy of debate before you start calling people bigots. I know of no rights that a gay couple is being deprived of, do you? What I hear, are people claiming that their rights are being violated because the majority of people are not willing to change the definition of something long established just to satisfy the emotional needs of 2% of the country.
For fun though, you should read the constitution, the founding fathers were clear on where they believed our rights come from. (hint, it was not from government, and the creator they refer to was clearly JudeoChristian)
Patri-neurotic american
Okay, so when it doesn't happen who do we see about the guarantee!!!!!!!!!!!! (is that enough exclamation points or do I need more according to your writing rules?)
What "gaurantee" are you producing to all of your liberal friends, oh wait, I forgot..."independant friends"? Ahhhh, that's really pathetic...independant....I think even dead-head is "ROFLMAO" on that one.
Where is the guarantee, is it in writing somewhere so we can see what it entails? Do we get money if he doesn't win? I don't know neurotic, I think you may be putting up a bull shi$ guarantee here. I smell fraud.
Rightwingwac...I had read that RED dye #2 does cause severe phychosis in female mammals from Illinois. This phychosis presents itself in manner akin to opteorectilitis or commonly known as the HUYA syndrome. (head up your arse)
Seeking
No that would make me an "I want everything handed to me" liberal, sweetie. The $60 made because of your efforts was just a perk for the day, and thanks I did enjoy it. In fact I believe I made a toast to you that evening and it went something close to this; "Heres to seeking sanity and all of the insanity I've caused her, if we have learned one thing from liberals it's that they are predictable and can always be relied on for foolish and elementary exchange. I raise this glass to liberals everywhere and express my gratitude for bringing entertainment and now Jason's (stupid bettor) money to my table...cheers!
The best part is I was with a couple of liberals at the time too and they humbly accepted a drink, my toast, and we all went on acting like humans as apposed to crawling into the snake pit of feisty's playground. I guess it really proves that it is the company you keep that defines you. Maybe that's why so many people come off like ass holes on the vine...we often take the cue from the first poster on a site. Who is usually one of the first posters on every site? Oh yeah, yeah, I remember.
As sad as it is having obama as president, romney will likely be worse. I will not vote for either of them. I know that getting Ron Paul is wishful thinking but we all have our dreams. I will vote for Ron Paul, if I must, I will write in his name, you can count on it.
Come on independents, stand up for once in your lives.
Tod, Just because something is "long established" doesn't mean that it's constitution. On the other hand, courts routinely strike down ban's on gay marriage as unconstitutional. Prop 8 has been repeatedly struck down by the courts as unconstitutional even though a majority of Californians voted for Prop 8.
In any case, I see where you're going with your arguments: if someone doesn't adhere to the JudeoChristian doctrine, then their rights are less than those the do. Scary.
MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE!!! Ever hear of that you whining righties?
Jim - it seems pretty clear that the "Tods" out there would have been openly advocating the continued discrimination against blacks during the Civil Rights movement, discrimination against women during the Suffrage Movement, against abolishing slavery, and against opening up voting to anyone other than white, Protestant, male land owners (I still laugh to think that in some states, Catholics were not allowed to vote).
I voted against the democrats and republicans last time, I will vote against them the next time.
Yup, Blacks/females and homosexuals; sounds like a fair comparison to me. (probably should ask the black/female population how that feel about that, doncha think?)
Ignorant, irrelevant comparisons don't exactly bolster your argument. Still wondering what rights have been violated, and why 90% of today's world, and 99% of all human history is bigotted? (nice try on the percentages, but the U.S. and Europe are really only a very small fraction of the world, and they are still probably only around 50%).
P.S. i'm not the one making the JudeoChristian argument, the folks who founded/fought for/ wrote up the laws we live by were., so take it up with them. You want to change those documents to fit your worldview? Go ahead, join the rest of those who want "hope and change", but don't cry foul when all of us are stuck livingin a country that turned out just the way you wanted it. Keep the monkey feces comin, its kinda comical.
So many posts here from fiesty to bold type bev raving, I mean loonatic ravings that the conservatives are done, the teaparty is gone, why in the hell if they done are you still posting lies, inuendo and garbage?
Are you afraid that really the conservative base is growing, teaparty is alive and well? By your lies of racial biggotry I would think you must be scared to death of them. If it's all over why not go to the bar and celebrate...or maybe you don't really have lives? My guess is you don't have much of anything except hate for the right. The left cannot be correct on every issue as the right cannot be wrong on every issue. The right has not started the class warfare that is running rampant in our country...My. President has done a great job of tasking that job.
Considering the term Judeo-Christian didn't exist when the Constitution was written, it is rather a hard argument to make that the founding fathers established the country on those principles. It is a more accurate statement to say the right wing Christians have hijacked the constitution and wrapped it in Christianity. After all, does the Constitution contain the word God (FYI, several authors of the Constitution were Deists)? This is the same thing they have done with the term marriage. Christians don't own, nor did they invent the institution of marriage. But they sure do love to re-write the term to their preferred definition.
We have an absolutely unqualified person in the white House.
What nonsense. Most of you right wing conservatives are fond of spputing the Constitution from a strict constructionist perspective. Please read the qualifications for POTUS. Other than those listed, the principal qualification is that the majority of the american people elect the person. Obama met all criteria.
His predecessor left this country in an enormous mess. Economic disaster and a useless war that cost us trillions. Then, the republicans met on the day he was inaugarated to make sure that they would agree to nothing Obama proposed. If there is a reason for the things that ails this country, it resides in a failed George W Bush presidency and a mean spiritied republican House that would rather hate Obama than do something good for the country.
We elected an amateur. A thin skinned crybaby. But someone with totally radical ideas, and none that have worked for the nation.
What was more radical than engaging in war that cost us over 4000 lives, 35,000 casualties, and trillions of dollars. To what end. Please help me with what we gained form that exercise. That POTUS allowed us to be attacked on 9/11/01 and tehn dismissed the importance of getting the perpetrator. Obama had to clean it up.
Obama attended the church of Jeremiah Wright for over 20 years. Watch Wright, listen to his words, the man hates America, hates white people, and is by no stretch of the imagination a true racist.
More nonsense. Wright has addressed what he feels is racism towards blacks in this country-period. Nothing he has said is racist. as to his love for america, he dropped out of college to join the marine corp. Then, we had had completed that tour of duty, he joined the Navy. Your heros, Limbaugh and Hannity have never served and show their patritoism by wearing flag pins on their Armani suits. Please.
It does speak volumes to the quality of anyone's character if they can sit and listen to hate filled sermons for over 20 years.
Connect any of Obama's speech and/or actions to what you allege ios hate speech from Wright. You cannot. THis is a myth. You know it and so do the republicans sputing this nonsense.
Obama deserves the vetting he will see this time around. Obama can no longer simply vote present and fool the public.
This stuff was vetted before and no one cared. News alert-they still don't.
Obama can run on his stellar record and rather remarkable recovery from the disaster that was George W Bush. Put Romney in and we will have more Bush. This country will be run into the ground.
In other words, you are voting for Obama. Got it! :)
Seriously, though, in such close elections as this one is going to be, voting for anyone other than Romney is a vote for Obama. Just saying. Ron Paul would never amount to anything but a lame-duck president. If you want Ron Paul to be a useful president who can accomplish something--anything at all--you will need to first get the entire country to vote out all Democrats and Republicans from Congress and replace them all with Independents.
In this politically charged climate that will be an impossibility. The Republicans--I hate to say it--are the lesser of the two evils. But, in a close race any vote for anyone other than the challenger is a de facto vote for the incumbant. The incumbant, as you are aware, is Obama. So, if you must, go right ahead and assauge your quilt by voting for Obama under the guise of inserting a write-in vote for Ron Paul. It all still amounts to about the same thing, though.
GOP plans for post SCOTUS ACA ruling
POLITCO (5/16/12): On Tuesday, the major options were discussed during a small closed meeting of House Republican leaders, according to several sources present.
Then on Wednesday, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) gave the entire House Republican Conference a preview of where the party is heading.
Opening the legislative can of worms on health care after such an emotional Supreme Court ruling would be tricky — and would come with major risks.
First, if the law’s popular insurance provisions are struck, Republicans know Democrats are going to blame them for “putting insurance companies back in charge” — a refrain Obama has already used on the campaign trail.
Republicans would try to replace some of the consumer-friendly parts of the plan — they don’t want it to seem like they’re leaving millions of Americans out to dry. They’ll look to protect some of the law’s most popular provisions, such as allowing people to stay on their parents’ insurance until 26 and forcing insurance companies to provide coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. They also want to keep the Medicare “donut hole” closed — essentially they don’t want seniors paying sky-high costs for prescription drugs.
But even with those insurance industry reforms — which poll well with the public — Republicans could run into resistance from conservatives, who want to repeal the entire health care law and leave nothing in its place.
Republicans may not wait until the Supreme Court hands down its decision to continue movement on repeal measures. The next items to hit the floor are likely to be repeals of the health law’s medical device tax and its ban on allowing consumers to use health savings accounts to buy over-the-counter drugs.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/76422.html
So here we are again with the Republicans planning to work on legislation that reduces help for millions of disadvantaged Americans. So will they fully repeal as Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is demanding or do a “fix” as many Republican leaders believe will be more acceptable to the majority of Americans?

This is awful. What a (Ed Shultz word) for writing such garbage about a lady who has faced both cancer and MS:
Comparing Ann Romney to Hitler: "[T]hey also have out this new Super PAC ad out about basically: Is Ann Romney under attack for being a mother? To me, it's still kind of amazing that they're still milking this thing. You know? It can't only be me that kind of initially saw Ann Romney as maybe a sympathetic or neutral figure but who is increasingly seeing her as someone who is kind of insufferable because of the way she's milking this thing. ... In a lot ways, the column [written by Ann Romney] was totally anodyne, right? She's, you know, yes, motherhood is beautiful. I found that phrase, 'the crown of motherhood' really kind of creepy. Not just because of it's somewhat -- you know, it's kind of really authoritarian societies that give out like a Cross of Motherhood. They give out awards for big families. You know, Stalin did it, Hitler did it." --Newsweek and Daily Beast columnist Michelle Goldberg
Up is Down. So if a provision that forces you to buy insurance is upheld the insurance companies ARE NOT in charge, whereas if it is struck down then the insurance companies ARE in charge because you don't have to buy anything?
I know Obama resembles Mr Spock but I have to question his logic.
Poor Dennis. You still refuse to comprehend the one salient fact about Obamacare- the vast majority of people want it repealed-in fact, they did not want it passed in the first place. If the polls don't do it for you, ask any number of currently unemployed democrats- who formerly held elected office.
First Thoughts focused on a story in the NYTimes that may or may not turn out to be true- some stealth person somehow got his or her hands on a secret advertising plan? What's next- the Grey Lady going to join the WaPo in quoting dead people?
Maybe First Thoughts could have spared a few words on Harry Reid commenting that the republicans are the reason nothing gets done- just after the Senate, finally, voted on Obama's budget proposal. It went down 99 to zero, beating last year's score of 97 to zero. Does Harry think that all those Democratic Senators became Republicans-for-a-day?
I'm not shocked that Wisconsin polling shows Walker beating his opponent handily, but I'm a little surprised to see the Obama /Romney match-up so close. Then again, think of all the wasted money on these idiotic recall campaigns, and maybe there's some blow-back involved. It certainly showcases the democratic penchant for wild spending on idiotic projects that benefit no one.
I also notice that you guys are completely uninterested in Obama's interjecting himself into the histories of all previous presidents since Coolidge- except for Ford, that is. I guess some things are just too embarassing for even the cult to defend.
Speaking of the indefensible- this latest debt ceiling crisis is coming at the same time the Eurozone is facing collapse-who would have ever believed that people would object when the money ran out and they could no longer get free stuff! Judging from the conversations I hear, (not to mention the polling, and the job approval numbers for governors who have made actual cuts to their state budgets-like, oh, say, my governor), Americans do not want to go there. That's why Obama is so upside down on his handling of the economy.
It's also why Obamacare is so bloody unpopular, something the liberal left cannot comprehend. Sorry Dennis- this is not the republicans problem- its the democrats', and Obama's. You may not get it, but it's true.
More fake outrage coming from the right wing. This same group has done nothing but tear down the President and his family. So, put on your big boy and big girl pants, because it's time to rumble.
The only reason that people want Obamacare repealed is all the fear mongering the Republicans have done on the issue. Lies like "death panels" (politifact.com lie of the year) etc.
Yet, you moan because Ryan's plan to decimate medicare gets demagogued.
Republican don't want health care reform, they don't want everyone covered, they only want health care for the rich.
No Joe,
There you go again with your bulling … “Poor Dennis” ...
I credited a story from POLITICO not my thoughts or opinion except the last paragraph which only asking if they will repeal as some Republicans want or fix as other Republicans want.
Eric,, if you are going to invoke the lie of the year, it's best not to lie yourself.
This was the lie of the year
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2011/dec/20/lie-year-democrats-claims-republicans-voted-end-me/
Amen Eric. Health care for all, because It's a God given right.
Dennis, I never intimated that you were the only poor, delusional soul out there. In fact, the media is full of folks just like yourself, wandering around telling themselves that Obamacare MUST be popular! Why would Obama champion something that people would not embrace? All that polling MUST be wrong!
That you chose to reprint it, however, reveals that you, yourself, agree with the author.
I believe the term is "out of touch". . .
Alan, NJ
Up is down to you, maybe. Going back to the situation where insurance companies can drop coverage on people who get sick or reach some lifetime total expenses is certainly putting insurance companies back in charge. When people's lives are on the line, these companies can and do extort obscene profits from them.
How is this relevant to Obamacare? Where is the personal attack in the above posts?
In 2005 or 2006 George W Bush proposed individual accounts instead of contributing to Social Security. The system would have mandated citizens to set up a 401(k) account with a 3rd party private company such as Fidelity or Schwab. Were you for such a system? This is the argument I have against the individual mandate. I think it is a huge expansion of the commerce clause that basically engulfs all the other protections of the constitution.
Sure. I'd be more for that than the proposed "means assessments" I've been hearing rumors about when it comes to SS benefits.
You know what argument I have against it? ERs being forced to provide a service but the consumer not being forced to pay. Normal commerce doesn't work that way.
So what is the alternative? Should we have any limits on healthcare expenses? Does it matter if it is the government or a private entity that decides? If you can afford it you can pay a private entity for more coverage. If it is the government you can do nothing. Either way the wealthiest will get the most. As a NJ Union leader said "Life isn't fair".
Shame on these mean ole evil conservative Republicans for telling the truth.
Feisty, I sure would like to know what you say that gets you collapsed all the time.
Ruken,
Services provided in the emergency room are not "normal commerce." I hope we never lose our humanity to the point where that becomes the case.
Dennis, excellent information. The GOP seems caught between a rock and a hard place.
floyd, shoot, those "mean ole evil conservative Republicans" haven't told the truth in so many years, they've forgotten what truth is.
Health-care is commerce in this country at the moment. Would I prefer a nationized system where everyone pays a tax for health-care? Yes. Do I expect it in the near future? No.
People need to start taking personal responsibility for their health, or suffer the consequences of their actions / inactions.
There was a reason Michael Jordan never aired his political views - he didn't want to alienate his supporters.
Guess who just suddenly scratched his idea to become a regular Cubs fan and game attendee?
No joe, no bo, nj...you are the one who is delusional and clearly not paying attention. If you poll people on whether they want the law repealed or passed, people will say "repeal it". And that is because too many pundits have objectified it so much that it can't be separated from hatred for Obama and what it actually will accomplish. But if you poll people and ask them do they want specific aspects of the law to stand and remain, they will resoundingly say "YES". So it is you who obviously is too much of a bonehead to understand the subtleties in play here on this issue.
The GOP TeaBagger Super PAC - Fox BS news & the N.Y. Times are the Bombshell, they are all losers out to destroy this Nation. God help America if these dirtbags get back in, enough with all their lies !
floyd...Oh puhlease...No Republican knows how to tell the truth. They just publicly lie and think the American Society of Enablers of Liar Republicans won't hold their feet to the fire.
There's only one reason the Republicans are sooooo against any healthcare reform...Big Money for their campaigns from some of the US's biggest HMOs. How is this not protecting the few while savaging the many?
Will HMOs promise not to bankrupt anymore Americans? Will they promise to offer affordable healthcare insurance premiums? Will Republicans?
Right wingers think they can force us to pay for Republicans like Mitch McConnell's heart surgery while we go bankrupt trying to afford healthcare insurance. Think again oh Mighty Aholes of the right.
Feisty, when you can give evidence of a Mormon Preacher Spouting "God DAMN America" your comments might have some credence.
@no jo, and here you go: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/dec/18/politifact-lie-year-death-panels/
2010 lie of the year, death panels.
In terms of your link no jo, let's not forget this:
"At times, Democrats and liberal groups were careful to characterize the Republican plan more accurately. Another claim in the ad from the Agenda Project said the plan would "privatize" Medicare, which received a Mostly True rating from PolitiFact. President Barack Obama was also more precise with his words, saying the Medicare proposal "would voucherize the program and you potentially have senior citizens paying $6,000 more."
The Ryan plan does change Medicare for those younger than 55, who have paid into that plan their entire life. They will not receive the same benefits and will pay $6000 more per year for care.
Thus, ending Medicare as we know it today !!!
Only if medicare promises not to bankrupt the country. There is no system in the country that is not out of control because we want health care with out limits and that is not possible in a finite world.
If anyone thinks Biden is a "big political asset to Team Obama," then I have some "prime" real estate to sell them. About spit my coffee on the screen over that one.
First of all, Jeremiah is a physical representation of the beliefs Obama has that are not really American. I understand why the PAC wants to do this. The PAC needs to spend their money keeping the American public aware and upset at Obama's policies that have hurt America. We can't let Obama's war chest fill America's head with the lies. Already we are being inundated by these "faux" feel good commercials that the uninformed will take to heart. We need to get every American informed of the truth, not the spin and lies. If we accomplish that, then Obama will be "1 and done." Which is exactly what we need if we are to get America back on track.
NoObama 2012!
jobnone...healthcare is a God given right? First I want to hear from the atheists, then please get back to us where such an idea can be found, other than your post. By my faith, I remain thankful for my next breath. But this Sunday I will ask my pastor when I can sign-up for my healthcare.
Just thought I would stop by and say hello. Not very good news on my side of the world - but if anyone wants to email me, I will be glad to anwser May take me a day or two, I am a little slower than I used to be. To all the folks at the DDI, if you would kindly play "Hey Jude" and have everyone raise a cold one and sing along to it, I would greatly appreciate it. To my friends on the right - nojo, jas1, keep true to yourselves and your values, you are truly nice ladies.
Love to all.
Phine-
glad you could drop by, hope everything works out for the better for you.
Damage123
Feisty Dumb Fux, if America had no problem electing a Socialist who has spent his life being taught to hate America and "doesn't speak in a negro dialect" (quote from Mormon Harry Reid), you really think they're going to have a problem with a Mormon?
Brain Damage123
Ohh, you think Our President can't get down in Negro Dialect? Did you hear him do a little street talk at the White House correspondents dinner?
I know President Obama is not worried about Mormonism or Rev Wright. Check this out. Like Jayze said. 99 problems and what you say ain't one of them.
Neither a Wafer-Thin Mitt, a frothy vanila bean Santorum, Candy 999 Cain, a Michelious Fruitcake, nor a Pig-Newt-on matter!

Obama in 2012
I am voting for Mitt Romney, I don't care what any of you say. 0bama has got to be voted out.
Dennis, Columbus, Ohio
I think Politico is full of twisted rants as usual as is this article on rumor, inuendo and crystal ball gazing, which is all you have when you are backing Obama. Obama launching his Military members and families for Obama is a real laugh too. That will amount to oh, maybe 5% if that of the military. I'm not sure I'd want the Republicans to do anything about the insurance companies. Every state has someone in control of the insurance industry in that state. Get on your state representatives and make them outlaw some of the aggregious things insurance companies do and problem solved by the STATES where the power is supposed to be.
Job1 When did you talk to God and hear that he says health care is one of his given rights for us? Funny thing, most Obama supporters are always tearing down Christians except when they want something then son of a gun all of a sudden it is a God given right. Just like all the "rights" that have been dreamed is included in the Constitution. One right the Obama supporters do have and it may have been given by God, I'm not sure, but they do have the right to be wrong just about everything and it shows.
Just learned our adopted son's insurance was dropped by the insurance company due to his illness. He has a part time job has also been in a car accident as a passenger, has been forced to move 3 times due to rental owner foreclosuresand now that he has an illness that may take several surgeries to correct and he is dropped. And you on the right think this is what america should stand for. I am 60 and this is not the America I grew up to respect and love. I am disgusted by the right, their fear mongering, religious bigoted BS, and outright contempt for the constitution of this country, to treat everyone with equality no exception is a disgrace to all of us. Please take your bibles and stick them where the sun do not shine. Your petty BS here shows you have no social redeeming qualities. You need to be removed from all polictial positions and rejected as citizens of this country. Don't bother replying with more hate and self righteous BS.
Well, out of touch, Snookie Joe, are those who pushed the lies that made health care unpopular, those like you who repeated those lies; those who bully others by using fear into thinking the way they do and they do it with untruths and factless garbage. When people are polled on specifics in ACA, amazing how much they like it. It is only the whole which the GOP bullies have succeeded in demonizing to the point people think what is actually good for them is bad because they've been told to think so by conservative fear-mongering--meanwhile, those fear mongering GOPers are the ones whose policies are real life death panels.
45,000 Americans die each year because they can't afford health care. If that happened in one city on one day, the outrage would be huge yet because they die namelessly in cities and town across this country, the deaths go unnoticed by all except the families mourning the losses.
The GOP is out to protect the private insurance companies at all costs and they do it because when they do, a huge amount of premium cash paid for health care goes to elect the ones who fight to preserve what doesn't work. Our country may have the best medical facilities in the world, the best doctors but we have one of the worst records for outcomes as well as the highest cost.
PHINEPHANCY, good thoughts and best wishes to you.
Shaking,
POLITICO is a Right leaning site – it is the only web site that George Bush says he reads.
Shaking my head - don't go patting yourself on the back for your intelligence. It is clearly non-existent. Your put downs of Obama supporters show you don't have a clue. Your lack of intelligence is totally evident in your sub-par post.
It's funny, I don't tear down Christians - was raised one myself. But, having the far right claim religious superiority is just downright laughable. The so-called "Christians" - and I put you in that category, wouldn't stand up to any true measure of a Christian or even a human being. You little righties don't give a damn about anyone but yourself. So Christian of you!
Your lack of intelligence and integrity is only overshadowed by your eagerness to show you don't have either. You're a great example of the far right. Don't have a damned clue but you have to shout it from the rooftops!
Not a bit of sanity to be found in the GOP!
Tis - I'm so sorry about your son. We've come to realize, unfortunately, that the GOP is no longer the party of human beings it used to be. It used to be, in this country, everyone wanted the best for themselves and others. There wasn't this hatred and divide that the far right has caused today. It's a pity the "christians" of the right have lost their way and their beliefs. It's a pity they are less than human and frankly don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. It's the Romney syndrome and, unfortunately we are probably see it continue as long as this "GOP" exists.
Maybe one day they will again have morals and integrity. For the time being, it's truly a lost cause. My best wishes to you and your son.
Obama/Biden 2012

No. When people reach their lifetime insurance limits, they should crawl in a hole and die without disturbing the rest of us. That's what made this country's free market system great.
@Joe in Albany Know what a real bill is
JoAnnaSmith1

Chuck Todd-Obama's "boy" !
Obama is a liar. Funny how Power-absolute POWER corrupts. No mention of the pay off to Wright...........but the truth always comes out.....
Tis the Season, well said, cheers for saying it!
flyfishva - oh you are too funny - and pathetic. The payoff to Wright - like that happened. However, the real truth about Romney is about to start leaking out and you won't like it. Sit back and enjoy!
Beverly - you know better than to try facts with JoAnna. It's useless!
This just in..... Obama's Muslim spiritual advisor has also criticized Barry's relationship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright!
It's amazing the left attacks Romney's wife and it backfires, and now that the polls show Romney leading they would dare attack Romney's religion.... the libbies have no soul, which would make sense given the nature of the attacks on Romney that Mr. Obama is authorizing!
Jim Silver - we can always count on one of you jokes to spout the "Muslim" stupidity and you don't disappoint.
Obama/Biden 2012
Phine - I would like to wish you the best in your medical/health struggles. I pray God gives you strength to overcome this, guides the doctors to help you. Stay strong take comfort in your family, get well.
God Bless.

4 more of your boy and we won't have to worry about anything-there will be nothing left but BIG GOVERNMENT! Truth will set you free. And really-both party's are evil...open your eyes and your mind will follow!
seekinginsanity, Silver was being ironic, you are just being silly!
Phine, you are in my thoughts and prayers too! Get better! I miss debating you.....

Health-care or the availability of medical service is not the issue, paying for health-care and the - services provided to people who can afford to pay but won't is the issue. Nobody in need of health-care is turned away but not everyone pays for the care they receive when they go to a hospital. The intent of a health-care program is to assure that people that are financially able to purchase insurance do so the rest of us don't get stuck with their bill. I suspect we could abandon the policy of treating everyone that comes to a public hospital and only start treating those who can can provide proof of coverage.
Perhaps the Republicans could provide an alternative to the health-care plan that would allow individuals to opt out of coverage even though they are able to afford it with the simple condition that no publicly funded medical assistance will be provided to the individual or any of his or her dependants.
Hey Bold-Font Beverly
You say;
"I know President Obama is not worried about Mormonism or Rev Wright. Check this out. Like Jayze said. 99 problems and what you say ain't one of them.
Neither a Wafer-Thin Mitt, a frothy vanila bean Santorum, Candy 999 Cain, a Michelious Fruitcake, nor a Pig-Newt-on matter!"
Here let me bold it for you so you can understand it: you think this shi$ is okay huh? Talk about a racist ass-hole. You just took the cake. I'll make this easy for you; I despise baracks white side and I despise baracks black side, and I despise baracks Marxist side and I despise baracks liberal side, I despise the man not the race. Now I know your ding-bat racist thought process doesn't allow you to understand how someone can be despised for who he is and not what he looks like. But you are sadly mistaken if that's what you think this presidential race comes down to.
Good luck with your race baiting and your own blend of racism but you really shouldn't pull that card out when you're only playing with a partial deck to begin with.
GOP must create diversion and deflection. That party has nary a people substantive thing it can run on. Well, maybe with some, stupidity offers certain comfort. Romney and the republicans will do well with those of that particular. Those looking for relieving substance though, are going to be treated to screams and squeals about the likes of "Jeremiah Wright" and "Bill Ayers", ect.,ect. We have to remember; Romney is a "Corporate Raider", a connoisseur of "bait and switch", a shy Mormon bishop, a piss poor speaker, and all around unaccomplished politician, who is now the front man toting the GOP golden sack. People like Ricketts can't have the electorate focusing on all that real claptrap, so, they must construct a phantom large enough to hide the rancor and smell that is both Romney and the GOP.
@ Jody, Iowa, where have you been the last year or so? I find you posting outdated, incorrect Democratic talking points pretty weird...... Obamacare was unpopular when it was rammed thru Congress and it is even more unpopular now. As the cost continues to skyrocket for those first impacted by this, (small business) the American public is beginning to discover "what is really in this bill." Maybe you think the destruction of the insurance industry and millions of working Americans losing their employer sponsored coverage is a good thing, the rest of us don't agree. Obamacare was not the solution to our problem.
Fly fish if you are going to use an analogy please correctly state it.
I really wish McCain would have won. I should have known that the right would not let a black man succeed. In spite of all of the obstruction he has still impressed me.
Righties are funny.
I hate paying taxes so others can get a handout--yet you do not mind paying higher insurance premiums because of free riders.
You bitch about spending yet you love war.
You like tax cuts yet you hate the payroll tax cut.
You say Obama raised taxes yet we are still under Bush's tax policy
You say we are overregulated yet Obama has put fewer regs in place in his first three years than Bush.
If you would just admit that you hate that a black man is in office I could at least wrap my head around that and say oh well at least they are honest. Everything else just does not hold up. I cannot wait for the election because after it I will truley see what he is capable of when he does not have the restrictions of the right holding back change.
PrObama all the way
FORWARD-- not back to the fifties with mitt.
Phinephancy, you have been in my thoughts and prayers all week. I wish you all the best.
Exhausted, but trying to return to the original focus of the article and the Rev Wright (cannot believe how many mispellings of this man's name there are, even with it printed repeatedly in the article) Anyway, why does it matter. I have heard excerpts of the man's sermons. I have seen news clips of his rants. Even if they were paraphrased, taken out of context....you cannot get away from the overriding message of anger and hate....Messages that should be coming from no pulpit anywhere that claims an allegiance to a God. Some of his turns of phrase make Hitler's comments look "kind and gentle" Regardless of whether Obama is currently a member, or was influenced by this man (although our President professes to think differently) I, without any political aspirations or possible monetary gain, would seek to distance myself wholly and completely from such a vocal and vindictive type of person. I would want the public to be reassured that I was as concerned about the hateful speech coming out of a supposed church as anyone else might be. Never once, either in 2008, nor up until the present, has Mr. Obama clearly stated that Reverend Wright's views are completely and totally his own-there has never been an actual rejection of that sort of hate speech. He may not endorse he man, but he does not repudiate either....he tries to dance all around the tree without once calling it a tree, because he may need that tree some day.
GOP must create diversion and deflection And gay marriage is not a diversion? You gotta be kidding, what's good for goose is not good for gander in the your world...nothing new tho.
@justredd64#2.55: Many are homeless. Many have no money for vital medication. Many have no money for a hunger quenching diet. Many children are ashamed to go to school because their parents can't afford decent clothing for them. Many children and adults never see a dentist because they cannot afford the cost. On and on it goes.
The importance of relieving this hellishly odious social blight from less fortunate Americans always pales, in the minds of bigots, when confronted with the spectacle of others of a different bend being allowed to be happy, while bringing neither harm nor imposition on any others.
jolly no soul....you got sum splainin to do....you know, about how bad it was when "you got home from Viet Nam"
liar!
GO Obaaahhhhma 2012!
Ain't that the truth! LMAO!
We won't see old Harry for a couple of days... the weekend warrior will be on the down low until he thinks it's safe to return! ;o)
And he doesn't live in Detroit, he lives in Hazel Park.
He's a disgrace to all those who really did serve in Viet Nam!!!
and those of us who served in the aftermath of Viet Nam, as well!
Bless you Chris!
My husband did two tours in Nam and doesn't take kindly to a$$holes like jolly embellishing his service!
Oh Christ. are you libs trumping up your fake Vietnam credentials again? What happened to that dumb bastard/fake soldier named "Jerk in MouthPort" or whatever? His teacher finally catch him taking too much time on the school PC?
Well Feisty, I see all the liberals on the defensive today, dodging the issues as usual, attacking personally when they can't really defend something with the facts.
Liberals are NEVER on the defensive. Truth is a defense. That's the part of reality right wingers with their noses out of joint just don't get. The right wingers just make up lies as they go. If they could package the lies they've been spewing just to GET THEIR WAY... by now, they'd be trillionaires.
I always tell any right winger who gets in my face to PROVE the lies and deliberate distortions they are spouting...Most tuck their piggy little tails in their prissy little pants and run the other way at the mere mention of the words "fact". But, I guess we ordinary Americans do have to have something to amuse ourselves besides Bonny Tan Man, Mitch the Bitch Bourbon Boi and let's not forget the coochie coos like Numbnuts Norquist and the KickAss and Take Names Kochees.
Look what the GOP and there fleabaggers did to Detroit with their free trade !
Good ole Ross Perot said about NAFTA "That sucking sound you hear is your jobs leaving America" and that little garden gnome was right. But NAFTA was touted by both sides, which is why I stop and listen before I make judgements.
Patriotic American...Add "look what the GOP did to the economy for 8 years." Let's have a "look what the GOP did marathon...how many more can you add? I know I've got at least enough to write a book...How about "look what the GOP did to healthcare since Gingrich and his Republican controlled Congress refused to reform it." ...43 million Americans with NO healthcare insurance and not a single peep out of them on how to deal with this...all while we paid for Mitch McConnell's very very expensive heart surgery.
Your turn to add to "look what the GOP did...
I am voting for Mitt Romney, I don't care what any of you say. 0bama has got to be voted out.
The past greed of the unions is why Detroit is in its bad shape today with high unemployment. They simply priced themselves out of the market, and now most new automotive manufacturing facilities are being built in right-to-work states.
Constant strikes in the late 1960's and 1970's opened the door to foreign competition.
Your voting for the Flip Flopper corporate raider is not cool !
Ewent
Liberals are NEVER on the defensive. Truth is a defense
OMG what a crock ewent...plzzzzzzzzzz what a fffin joke, spout your retoric as truth, keep repeating I believe, I believe and you might convince yourself after repeating 100 times standing in the corner. You libretards crack me up with your holy than tho garbage and that is what it is GARBAGE get a life. The left thrives on lies, inuendo and complete bullsh1it.
Hey Jim, Japan has a 89% Closed Market to the U.S.A., what do you call that ? I would call that unfair trade !
Dave the doubter - you go ahead. Look the fool your post proves you are!
Not like you and your conservative pals:
Fail, Skiddy.
fielden, you and ewent are clueless. If I had time and was bored, I could link enough articles here that are blatant lies from libs in the last few days to fill up this comment section. You just wouldn't admit it, and I'm not wasting any more of my time on you two clowns.
This is so true:
"I would like to make a rule that nobody ever again be tried for a hate crime. A crime is a crime, and whether the victim is a black, a Hispanic or a homosexual, should not make the punishment any more severe than if the victim is a WASP. One can safely assume that every crime is hateful to the victim. People who favor concentrating on 'hate' rather than 'crime' are the same noodle-heads who are unaware that 'social justice' is an oxymoron. Justice doesn't call for adjectives. Once they're added on, it ceases to be justice, which is why Lady Justice is always pictured blindfolded and why Martin Luther King pleaded for a colorblind society." --columnist Burt Prelutsky
Ben...Sorry...hate will always be around just as long as love has. There is no way to regulate hate. The only responsibility we all have to deal with hatred is to put it in its place....like on an isolated island somewhere in outer space.
Boycott the N.Y. Times for their BS Tabloid News ! The times & Fox doesn't represent the America middle class, they represent the 1% ! Their Political agenda is Racial !
ewent,
You almost sound "normal" in your eloquent post at #4.1 ! This post, however, stands in stark contrast to the venom you unleash in your posts at #2.21 and #3.8. Your second paragraph at #3.8 is relly pretty damn revealing about you.
Have you had your meds today ?
ewent - ignore Jim-1455434. He's a stalker and apparently does it regularly!

You should practice what you post; IDIOT
You wanted justice for George Zimmerman who clearly identifies more with his white linage that his Hispanic. He killed a presumed innocent Black teenager.
To you and all you right wing friends who are fond of white sheets:
Stand Your Ground law were meant to protect you folks from Black people; obviously. Stand Your Ground defense fails in Florida shooting case.
A Black woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison after firing a gun in the direction of her abusive husband

A Florida judge on Monday ruled that an elderly Black man charged in the shooting death of his neighbor can't use the Stand Your Ground defense, the second time in a week that the controversial law at the center of the Trayvon Martin case failed to provide cover to a defendant.

Isn't that something it is easier to get a gun than a voter's card to get justice?
SeekingSanity,
How many times are you going to contradict yourself today ? It looks as though YOU are stalking me.
Where do I begin ? In #1.63 you attack JoAnnaSmith and try to imply "total insanity" as being "her".
In #2.35 you attack "ShakingMyHead" thus "your lack of intelligence is totally evident in your sub-par posts" followed quickly by your statement "It's funny, I don't tear down Christians - was raised one myself". LOL ! Hypocrite much ?
Then, of course, you refer to "flyfishva" in #2.41 as "pathetic", before attacking "DavetheDoubter" in #3.17 as a "fool".
Yes, you might have been RAISED a Christian, but you need to focus on the content of the article and cut out the character assassinations. Furthermore, you can cry "stalker" all day long, but as long as you absolutely have to have the last word on everything I post ..... people will know otherwise.
You and Feasty do not have a license for venom.
Ohhhhh - feel better now jimmy???
Isn't hate an implied component of any crime that harms another individual....The drug addict certainly didn't shoot Granny out of love? The gangbangers don't run each other down or participate in drive by shootings because of love. Why is it even necessary to describe something as a hate crime? Could it be that we have become so jaded, so insulated, so numb to the concerns of other human beings that it is the only way we have to make people once again understand the basic ten commandments. Thou Shalt Not Steal. Thou Shalt Not Kill etc. But if the term hate crime is necessary....then "Thou shalt not Hate should be sufficient to keep the whole of society in order, as it embodies everything else by definition........I don't know, but it sure seems easier to me to have some actual absolutes about acceptable and unacceptable behaviors instead of the vagueness of "hate crime"
Unbelievable, willard has sworn an oath of loyalty and obedience to the mormon church leadership and the repards are ape over one crazy pastor?? If romney gets elected does that mean we all have to bow down to the mormon god who's managing the affairs on planet earth from up there in the KOLOB System??? Romney is a follower of the mormon prophet T. monson-- now that is one spooky dude.
Obama Winning Investors by 49%-38% Against Romney in Poll
By Mike Dorning -
May 10, 2012 8:00 PM ET
Global investors increasingly prefer President Barack Obama to Republican challenger Mitt Romney and most say they believe the incumbent will remain in the White House for another four years.
Asked who would be the better leader for the global economy, 49 percent favor Obama against 38 percent for Romney, according to a quarterly Bloomberg Global Poll. In January, the two candidates tied on the question.
By the same margin, they say Obama has a better vision for the U.S. economy, according to the survey of 1,253 Bloomberg customers, who are investors, analysts or traders.
Obama “managed the U.S. economy pretty well, solving a lot of imbalances created by the previous administration,” says poll respondent Mario Di Marcantonio, 35, a senior portfolio manager at Eurizon Capital in Milan.
“I believe the second Obama term will be better than having a U-turn with Romney,” he says. “More stability will mean more visibility and more investment in the future.”
The American presidential election is dividing foreign investors and those based in the U.S., where Romney is favored across the board. U.S. investors choose the Republican candidate as best for the global economy by more than 2-to-1. Respondents outside the U.S. prefer Democrat Obama by almost 3-to-1 in the poll, conducted May 8.
Still, Obama’s popularity with global investors is the highest in two and a half years, at a time when political incumbents across the Atlantic, including French President Nicolas Sarkozy, are being turned out of office.
The U.S. president is viewed favorably by 56 percent of global investors and unfavorably by 40 percent.
Investors have turned more negative on Romney during the Republican primary campaign, giving him the highest unfavorable reading in the year that respondents have been asked their opinion of the former Massachusetts governor.
The onetime private-equity executive is viewed favorably by 40 percent and unfavorably by 46 percent. In May 2011, he was seen favorably by 25 percent and unfavorably by 28 percent.
Debt-Ceiling Fallout
Doyle Gustus, president and chief investment officer of Cornerstone Select Advisors LLC in St. Louis, cited Romney’s support for congressional Republicans’ “destructive” resistance to raising the U.S. debt ceiling last year.
“It was not necessary to have that debate at a time when the economy was struggling and it raises a serious question about the party’s ability to lead on economic matters,” Gustus said. “Since Romney has followed the party’s positions completely, for me, his leadership is in serious question.”
Even among U.S. investors, Obama’s standing has risen during the past four months. Thirty-one percent have a favorable opinion of the president against 27 percent in January. Seventy percent of non-U.S. respondents have a favorable view of the president, up from 65 percent in January.
Poll respondents hardly fit the demographic profile of typical Obama supporters. Almost 80 percent describe themselves as politically right of center or centrists. Ninety-five percent are men. Two out of five of those who disclosed their net worth are millionaires.
Betting on Re-Election
Investors in every region are betting on an Obama re- election. Seventy-four percent say he will either certainly or probably win another term, about the same as in January.
Investors in Obama’s America have been rewarded. The U.S. stock market’s benchmark Standard & Poor’s 500 (SPX) Index climbed about 8 percent this year and is up 60 percent since Obama took office.
Respondents are now more willing to credit Obama for improvements in the U.S. economy. Forty-seven percent say he deserves credit, the same portion as says he doesn’t. In January, 43 percent attributed improvement to him against 49 percent who didn’t.
They also see another Obama term as favorable to U.S. markets, with 48 percent saying the president’s re-election would be a “good thing” for domestic markets compared with 36 percent who predict it would be detrimental. In January, only 44 percent saw another Obama term as favorable for U.S. markets and last December 38 percent thought so.
Not Caving In
“President Obama hasn’t caved in to the arguments in favor of austerity and deserves some credit for this,” says Brandon Fitzpatrick, 34, a poll respondent and equity portfolio manager at DB Fitzpatrick in Boise, Idaho. “Given the still-weak economy, we need continued stimulus, both fiscal and monetary.”
Asked which candidate has laid out a better vision for the U.S. economic future, 45 percent chose Obama and 34 percent Romney. Another 21 percent had no idea.
As with other measures of Obama, U.S. investors diverge with their counterparts in other countries. U.S.-based investors favor Romney’s economic vision 61 percent to 26 percent; investors based in other countries favor Obama’s vision 55 percent to 19 percent.
U.S. and European respondents believe the financial system remains vulnerable in a crisis. Asked if systemic risk in the banking system has been sufficiently addressed by requlators in their own country, 53 percent of U.S. respondents said it hasn’t, as did the same portion of Europeans. Only 41 percent of Asia respondents said their regulators haven’t addressed systemic risk.
The Bloomberg Global Poll was conducted by Selzer & Co., a Des Moines, Iowa-based firm. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

___________________________________________________________
Mr. Romney has been running around the Country rantin’ and ravin’ and spitin’ and swearin’ to anybody that will listen to him (and it’s getting more sparse by the day) that the Obama Administration is bad for business and only he Super Mitt can save us from a sure and certain calamity.
Only problem seems to be is Business ain’t listening. Either that or they’ve heard all the lies before and are getting tired of listening to them and done what Business People do and went on back to work doing something Productive.
Matter of fact it seems to be trending the other way.
So I reckon you need to go find you another wall to throw that mess against Mr. Romney because apparently it ain’t sticking over here.
Now I’m real sure that some of you’ll Yahoo’s are going to get on here that just can’t wait to show me the error of my ways in…………Three…..Two……..One go for it.
Uh, I hate to break it to you, but that poll is meaningless.
Italians cannot vote in U.S. elections. Nor can Greeks, Spaniards, Portugese, or other foreign nationals.
Nice try, though. It's important to know that those responsible for the imminent collapse of the Eurozone think Obama is doing a heck of a job! after all, they have so much in common. . .
Republicans are following the UK policies of cuts alone, and its led them to a double dip.
Republican economic policies are proven failures.
Obama/Biden 2012.
IR Virginia - Good work. I'm beginning to think level heads will prevail over the hatred, misdirection and over-reaction of the right.
I'll be happy to show you the error of your ways IR, it's always so easy. Maybe you can explain to us why a guy like you who is so good at copying and pasting other people's work, can't seem to grasp the one key sentence in that work? U.S. investors are the ones who will be voting in the U.S. presidential election, and they seem to be rejecting your guy en masse.
So the problem isn't "Business ain't listening" as you state. The problem is you're not listening.
As ususal, I didn't read IR's nonsense but, are you serious? He pasted ALL THAT and didn't read it himself? LOL!!!!!! Don't be too hard on him, NoJoe. Remember, Liberals have a stated GOAL of getting non-US citizens to vote in our elections (as long as they vote Dem of course).
Well I'm happy to see that Snookie Joe's and Old Fairfax Bills Poll Dancing talents haven't diminished with time..........Anybody got change for a ten so I can come up with some PT tips for thier fine efforts this morning.
Excellent information, IR; plus your pearls of wisdom say it all. "Super Mitt" runs around yelling about "inferno of debt....prairie fire of spending" yet those in business obviously think Mitt is the "inferno".
I am voting for Mitt Romney, I don't care what any of you say. 0bama has got to be voted out.
Damage...Look in your own backyard for once. Don't right wingers ever look at their own misguided ideology and realize why most Americans think these are lunatics who lack common sense and education? Don't right wingers realize their ideology is selfish, self-centered and totally lacking in accountability?
Feed on this one: In March 2009, Mitch McConnell announced he and his party would "get rid of Obama"...in the 3rd month of a new presidency? Whose BS right wing ideology did that suit? Then, comes February 2010 and Rove announces he's got a $200 million warchest to unseat a president 1 year after he took office...More right wing BS.
When the big babies of the right did get anyone to pay attention to their wah wah wah all day long, they decided to sidle up to the Koch billionaires and Norquist who pay these righties handsomely to tear down a duly elected president elected by the 52% of the vote. How dare you people think you can just boss others around? What's the matter? McWifie left you middle aged twerps and now you use a keyboard to play little Hitlers?
Give it up...You are wasting your time. Our President WILL have his second term. And after he's through, stand by...Cory Booker is very likely going to make it to the White House if Hillary Clinton decides not to.
You cannibals have been feasting on your sordid menu of pushy shovey since the day your MY WAY or the highway Crawford Crawdaddy took office. Bush isn't president anymore..No more MY WAY or the highway...sorry.
Dave aren't you glad you live in a country that allows you that right. So glad we all live in that country and allows us the same right. Since you have made up your mind and are not going to be changing any here my I suggest you find another list, one that better fits your ideals and morals.
Thank you,
substitute left for all the rights in your post and it would be just a viable. just because you say it with conviction doesn't make it so.
The problem is the gouging by the medical profession, if they didn't gouge us to the max we wouldn't have to have insurance, we could pay our bills. Yes the insurance compaies are stealing us blind but so is much of the medical profession and the builders of equipment and drugs as well. i don't have insurance, but I am not wanting to be force into something since I am laid off cannot afford or fined on top of that.
Mr. Fitzpatrick of Boise, Idaho can surely vote in the election and is not blindly picking Mitt because he is a businessman. And it is good to see people recognizing that the "austerity" movement isn't getting it done in Europe and won't do it here, either.
"When Willie Horton meets Jeremiah Wright"
If you are upset these individuals were used in political attacks on candidates ...blame Al Gore and Hillary Clinton's campaigns, respectively.
DOES THE GOP THINK THIS IS A GAME???
So, let me get this straight...
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-MS) drafts a 56-page budget amendment and sends it to the Senate floor while Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) sends a similar document to the House floor. They claim it is the "President's Budget". They know it is destined to fail because they use general numbers and provides no specifics. How can it when it's only 56 pages long (budgets tend to be over 2000 pages long)?
The House and Senate unanimously vote down the document 414-0 in the House and 99-0 in the Senate (our buddy "Spanky" claims 616-0...which proves that the GOP not only has problems with science but also with math).
...and all this so the GOP can run to the media and point and do the "pee-pee" dance saying, "OH, LOOK! OH, LOOK! THE PRESIDENT'S BUDGET DIDN'T GET A SINGLE VOTE!"
Is this a game? They pull bulls*** like that and then want to claim they're serious about a budget and ask us to trust them with control of this nation's government?
Puh-leeze!!!!
Noid,
I hope you have saved a hard copy of your comment (which BTW is excellent).
From the sound of the right wingers this morning you are going to be busy doing a lot of re-posting!
I mean look at thread #1 - they're all lined up repeating this bull@!$%# like the little drones they've been trained to be! ;o)
DaNoid, excellent post; ditto what Feisty said. Keep repeating this often. Joe Scarborough this morning repeated the same lie that the President's budget didn't get even one vote from democrats when the President's budget has never been brought to the House floor for a vote.
DaNoid, so true. "A Guide to Recognizing Your Budget Stunts." And those Republicans are good with the stunts, because they know that the low information voters that support them will believe anything.
It's pretty sad!
No, it's not a game. The stakes are too high for a game.
The fact of the matter is that, for a second year in a row, Obama's budget proposal garnered no votes- its too toxic for his own party. And, for the third year in a row, there IS no budget- we just spend, willy-nilly, with no thought of the consequences.
Want a good look at the consequences? Look across "the pond". The Eurozone is on the brink of collapse. Spain and Italy are paying almost seven percent on their bonds. Greece is about to collapse- without a bailout, despite what the "free stuff!" party believes, there will be no more stuff- period. Who the heck is going to buy bonds from a country that has already paid out less than promised, and will be forced to pay nothing at all thanks to stubborn belief in the money fairy?
Oh, and by the way- batten down the hatches. The impact of Europe is going to make the bursting of the housing bubble look like a blip on the screen. Obama was given good advice on how to protect our economy from the impact- he ignored it, as is his wont. Seems to believe that if he just ignores things, they will go away.
Noid..... good post, I just posted the details from Politico on the real story behind yesterday charades in Congress. Although I doubt very much, that those who need to read it will do so. They will run with the usual talking points this included as it suits their mindset. As Jody says, keep repeating..very often.
These are nothing but games they play, and we the people pay for this?
5 GOP Senators voted against the Ryan budget.
It failed 41-58.
Obama’s budget was, once again, like in the House, numbers only with no allocation to any program – no one would vote for such a budget.
You should be more concerned as to why 5 Republicans voted against the Ryan budget and only 18 Republicans voted for the Rand Paul budget.
"no joe", please try and keep up with us, dear. I'll say it again since you seem to have missed it the first time...
...neither the House nor the Senate voted on the President's budget proposal yesterday. They voted on this...

no jo:
What don't you understand about "It wasn't the presidents budget proposal!"?
The House has not allowed the presidents proposal to make it back to the Senate for 3 years. What ever gets sent to the Senate is nothing like the presidents proposal - it's been replaced by the Ryan budget proposal or something equally nonsensical.
Clearly nojoe and JoAnna don't have a clue - but all of us knew that from reading their posts all along, right? Most everyone else knew the "budget" proposal was a joke! And, dear no joe - if you're offended by the "joke" then you have no one to blame but the GOP! The insanity of the GOP continues!
Obama/Biden 2012
Dennis...Did you read the Ryan budget? Your 401K and any of your employer-paid benefits were included as a tax. How funny is that? This is the party that refuses to raise taxes on the wealthiest 1% and Corporations they handed $12 billion to 3 weeks ago but it's damn well okay to go after the retirements of those with 401Ks? And why exactly would employees have to pay for employer-paid benefits if not to zero out the cost of these benefits to employers which ends up more moolah in the employer's pockent and even less in the employees'?
Ryan better not give up his other day job. He and his bossy little twerp Tea Party are about to see what real public opinion can do to a hotcha prissy pants.
I love the fact that Obama supporters are appalled that budgets contain numbers.
Tells me all I need to know.
Numbers only with no allocation to any programs.
I suppose if the Ryan plan had only numbers with nothing to support where the money would be spent you would vote for it.
Of course you would because it is not a Dem budget.
I'll give you a number .... $16 trillion ! It refers to the national debt and Obama, in his fourth year of office, has yet to produce any realistic budget proposal. If you cut out ongoing fraud and waste alone, that could be billions towards reducing our annual deficits !
Whatever happened to Obama's pledge to go over the budget "line-by-line" ? Anothe failed promise ??
As usual, Dennis, you are wrong.
From The Hill.com
See, what happened was, Sessions took out all the hot air, the "policy support"- the allocations to departments, subgroups within the departments, was intact. That's why the document was 56 pages long.
If we take Noid's word for it, 1944 pages of hot air were removed. If that's par usual, no wonder nobody knows what's in these budgets. You would not live long enough to read through the baloney to get to the actual spending.
To be honest, I think all budgets should be presented this way- leave out the malarkey. Submit just the allocations, and let the pontificating about why x number of billions need to be expended sending home health care workers to the homes of first time mothers, (it was none, by the way. I suppose the thinking was they were too poor to be able to afford mothers of their own).
Telling that when faced with the stark realities of how much money was being allocated to each area, nobody voted for it.
POLITCO: The most obvious political vote of the session was a 0-99 roll call on President Barack Obama’s budget blueprint — which was offered by Republicans. While that tally is sure to become fodder for campaign ads, Democrats dismissed it as a political stunt since there was no real policy language attached to the Obama budget.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/76418.html
NoJo, I see you continue to mislead yourself and others.
You provide a link and cherry pick the phrases you want. But when one reads the ENTIRE article and uses all of the pieces of the puzzle, a much different narrative emerges.
Dennis, you just repeated what I said- the allocations were there, the "policy language" was cut.
You are now arguing on the same side as I.
Did you mean to do that, or are you just confused?
No Joe,
There was insufficient information to justify a yes vote {period}. That was exactly the same reason it got zero votes in the House.
Again, without the missing information would you vote for any ones budget?
Still waiting for your answer to this question.
Dennis
How are you today, fine I hope? As for the votes on the 5 so called budgets, it was nothing but a political ploy by both sides. We haven't had a budget in something like 3 or 4 yrs and unless one of the parties take control of both houses of congress I doubt if we will see a budget passed by congress.
The house now has to get busy and write the appropriations bills and hopefully the Senate can agree or amend and a joint conference can get an agreement. With an upcoming election I doubt if we will see many approved, if any, appropriations bills. Again we are going to wait for the last minute to do something on raising the National Debt Ceiling and on letting the Bush/Obama tax cuts expire or be extended and the same with the payroll tax cuts.
Hi Sarge,
I'm doing well thanks. Hope you are also.
Yes it has been 3 years and I agree that it may be another year or more before they pass one. Actually we do have a budget and it is law rather than a resolution because The Budget Act of 2011 was passed last August and covers FY2012 and 2013. But then again budgets do not and never have controlled spending.
The only appropriations bills that will get passed before the lame duck session will be ones that cover expiring appropriations and they may only be short tern bills that will expire early next year.
I believe that the Bush tax cuts will not be extended again. The only thing that can pass and be signed will be to extend a cut for the middle class while the rate for those in the upper class will be changed to a higher rate for income above $200K/250K and a new class for income above $1M. The payroll tax will not be extended.
On the Debt Ceiling I believe it should be a clean bill. With the Ryan/Romney budget that continues to borrow for the next 27 years (it doesn't balance till 2040) the needless ceiling will be increased many more times.
Are people really influenced by ads? Foxzombies will be foxzombies... Hard to believe anyone would even consider willard
If believe that your Corporate Sponsored grassroots organization was created by "The People" and you believe Fox is news and Not entertainment! You tend to believe Willard!
Willard is a liar and a cheat and no way does he have the back bone or integrity to serve as President of the United States.
Job1 - so true but you know those who don't bother to do their homework will vote for him. It doesn't matter that he regularly destroyed lives just to put money in his pocket in the past. Mitt didn't care before and won't care in the future. It's all he and the Bain group.
Obama/Biden 2012
"In fact, this was the “fire and brimstone” Biden of 1987. It’s a reminder that when he’s on, he can talk to Joe Sixpack and be a big political asset to Team Obama."
The only time Clueless Joe makes sense is if Joe Sixpack consumes at least a six pack...
Big political asset? LOL...As usual, First Read consumed a sixpack of David Axelrod's koolaid before breakfast.
Bottom line... Who won Obama/Biden or McCain Palin? The proof is in the winning.
I love koolaid (cool). It's too bad that so many in the GOP drink pukeaid.
Actually Job - the beverage of choice for the GNOP is Hate-or-Aid!
They can't consume enough of it to quench their thirst! ;o)
Alright Feisty, That's Great!
Wow..liberals are so clever....Feisty your hatred shines through everyday on this vine....why don't you go outside and breathe some fresh air and let all that hatred out of your heart. You contradict yourself daily and you are probably the biggest hypocrite on the vine.....dream big...next
Feisty...I love it... Hate-or-Aid (H8rAid). Bwaahaaahhaaa...
Hey guys! How about drinking a margarita on the rocks with salt for the old gal down south who isn't sure she will be around for election day? Top shelf, please.
Phinephancy, I may disagree with you politically, but I wish nothing but the best for you ! Sorry, but I don't go for Margaritas, I will toast you with a glass of Glenlivet instead. I will also add you to my prayer list if that is okay with you ... certainly, it couldn't hurt. Have a blessed day !
What do you expect from a guy from crooked Chicago politics who can't even get a budget done & shoves healthcare down people's throats who don't even have a damn job??
The only people happy about the state of the Demwits economy are the poor who continue to grab their WIC & welfare checks. Meanwhile the middle class have all been foreclosed on & their unemployment run out. Can't even afford gas to go look for a job!
ONE AND DONE!
Laker, according to you, the Demwits are smarter than other people. They continue to grab their WIC and welfare checks, and you dumb GOPer's took out loans you could not afford, then lose your home and your job. And you can't afford to fill your Caddy up with gas. So why should I feel sorry for dumb people?
Your anger is sorely misplaced, you should do a little research before making such false statements. You make the idiotic comment about health care for those unemployed, what is wrong with that? When one is unemployed and they should get sick, we pay the costs? If they don't have any health care how do they get health care without passing on the costs to us, same goes for the poor who cannot afford health care, now they can. What would you like the poor to do? Starve? Live on the streets? They cannot make it on their own, what is wrong with helping a fellow human being, there should be limits as to how long they can collect but in the mean time, what is wrong with you?
OBAMA 2012 / DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS 2012
I'll take healthcare over wealthcare every time.
SNAPPA... Don't forget the Republican Health Plan... Don't Get Sick and if you do then Die Quickly..
Obama/Biden 2012
I had a job like everyone else until the Demwits hit congress in 2006. Since then it's been straight downhill for everyone after years of a successful Republican congress.
Sure didn't take long for idiots like Pelosi & Reid to screw up a country!
If ever there was proof that the Supreme Court's Citizen's United was disasterous for democracy, it is the unlimited spending of multi-million/billionaires in Super PACs. It isn't just going after democrats, it was evident during the GOP primary when Mitt's secret donors ruthlessly attacked Gingrich, Santorum who had their own million/billionaire sugar daddies.
Regardless of political affiliation, every citizen in this country should be outraged that their voices in our democratic government are being slowly and systematically drowned out by the mega-wealthy donors whose only interest is to protect their personal mega-bank accounts. They hide their millions off-shore and yet call themselves American patriots. They do not care about the country or the people, they only care about what is theirs and they aim to make sure only they have a say in government. The Facebook co-founder renouncing his US citizenship is evidence of this focus on greed and keeping it all for themselves despite the fact that this country made it possible for them to become mega-wealthy. Their loyalty is not to the United States but rather to the almighty dollar.
Republicans, democrats, independents--it is time to demand OUR lawmakers who wages we pay work for all of us again. Time to demand that campaign finance reform be passed and signed into law. Time to demand the elimination of massive amounts of secret money which buys elections without any accountability. This is not the United States our founders envisioned; it is time we demand democracy be returned to the people.
This is the profound truth, it is time for money to be taken out of politics and the justice system of this country. Elections shouldn't be decided by the amount of money one (or their surrogates/superpacs) can spend on advertising, and innocence shouldn't be determined by wealth.
We live in the information age, it is time for the multi-year bandwagon campaigns of the 19th century to go the way of the dinosaur so that elected officials are forced to sit in session and do their jobs. Eliminate all donations to political campaigns, set up websites so anyone who wants to run can outline their platforms, and let the citizens decide based on merit, not propaganda through the media. Campaign renovation that would work right there. We're the only republic in the world that still has multi-year election cycles because the political process became a big business for the U.S.
Bravo, Jody--terrific post. The Citizens United decision was one of the lowest points for the Supreme Court in our history and we see its impact daily. How sad.
NoLimit---I meant to say that it was a low point in the Supreme Court's history. They've had some bad decisions before---Dred Scott comes to mind---but in my view this was wrongly decided and has had an impact beyond what could have been imagined.
NoLimitSoldier, well if you're happy with billionaires taking away your rights and destroying democracy, so be it. Obviously is not worth the effort to explain the facts to you but here's two, Citizen's United outlawed McCain Feingold which set limits on the amounts any individual could give, it required accountability of campaign financing; corporations were NOT people back then either.
@NoLimit-50:
It is you who needs to take off the blinders. CU is a problem because it gives the person with the most money the loudest voice. That is not equality, its manipulation and bribery. Couple the CU decision with the refusal of the Republicans to pass legislation requiring immediate disclosure and you have the system that is in place right now.
As to what candidate Obama did or did not do in 2008, how is that relevant to the situation today? The campaign finance laws in 2008 did not allow for unlimited, unreported, undisclosed money to be received by the PAC's. Plus, the majority of candidates money was in the form of individual/small contributions.
Did he (Obama) have large contributors and bundler's? Yes, that was/is the nature of financing a political campaign; a system that candidate Obama did not create.
Did he (Obama) receive money from Wall Street? Yes, and so does almost every politician who runs for national office, including Willard "Mitt" Romney.
You attempt to make a point by comparing a fruit to a vegetable; there's nothing equal about the PAC climate today versus the 2008 election cycle. Those are the facts given to us by the SCOTUS Citizens United decision and the Republicans in Congress.
NoLimitSoldier50 - The SC Citizens United ruling was one of their worst in history. It virtually put our political offices up for sale with no strings attached. Foreign countries are contributing to Pacs to get the candidate they want in office. Anyone who is okay with this needs to rethink their commitment to this county.
"Willard" was a movie about rats, and still is...
that is hilarious! humor is a medicine...beyond party lines, it's good to laugh!!!!!
Watch what you say. If humor is a "medecinr", it will soon be regualated by the FDA and fall under obamacare, where it will have to be prescribed and paid for. Only approved humor will be sanctioned. www.tokin-asian.blogspot.com
Let's not forget about the sequel: Ben (dover).
We will live to see the day the SCOTUS handed down the Cittizens United decision. Nobody should be allowed to spend this much money on a campaign.
i guess its only ok for obama to spend hundreds of millions of union money. Hypocrite.
This worked so well 4 years ago lololololol Desperate people do desperate things. lolololololol
Obama/Biden 2012
and Romney is closing the Gap quickly...desperate time for liberals....Obama has to do more than just be black and not Bush.....and what a record he has!!!lol
Instead of spending millions reviving an issue that didn't have traction 4 years ago when people didn't know President Obama as well as they know him now, the Republicans would be better off in the long run to figure out how to appeal to women and Hispanics and young people, especially in light of this morning's news that there are now more "minority" births than births of "white" people. That is the future they should be focusing on; I guess we are lucky that they don't.
...so the conservatives are out of ideas.. at their wits' end... and out of their mind!
pigotry - pretty much sums it up!
Tea Baggers are desperate.
The Obama/Wright "connection" was hyped ad nauseam by the media in the last election. It did not sway enough voters to choose McCain over Obama. It won't sway enough this time to make them choose Romney over Obama. This type of ad will certainly appeal to those voters who would never vote for Obama in the first place. But that's just preaching to the choir. This type of ad is a case study in the Republican, ultraconservative, "slash and burn" style of political advertising. It will impress the "low hanging fruit," but it will not impress most moderate, independent American voters.
The video/audio evidence coming out last night of Obama's hush money offer to Wright is pretty blatant...don't you think?
Didn't Romney just give a commencement speech at Liberty University, founded by Jerry Falwell? The same Jerry Falwell who along with Pat Robertson said that God allowed 9-11 because of our "sins" like the ACLU and homosexuality?
During a discussion about whether this crisis might bring revival to America, Jerry Falwell said God may have allowed what the nation deserved because of moral decay and said Americans should have an attitude of repentance before God and asking for God's protection. He specifically listed the ACLU, abortionists, feminists, gays, and the People For the American way as sharing in the blame. Pat Robertson responded with agreement
The actual transcript of the conversation:
Then Falwell said, "What we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be miniscule if, in fact, God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve."
Robertson replied, "Well, Jerry, that's my feeling. I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror, we haven't begun to see what they can do to the major population."
Falwell said, "The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God...successfully with the help of the federal court system...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the finger in their face and say you helped this happen."
Robertson said, "I totally concur, and the problem is we've adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government, and so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do, and the top people, of course, is the court system."
How is that any different from what Rev. Wright said? Where is the Republican outrage?
Yes, absolutely, but you don't think the media is going to run with that story do you? There is also Sinclair's hush money and who knows how many others that the media just won't touch.
Wright, been there, done that! TD Ameritrade, Chicago Cubs owner, mmmm! A thief and a loser, what are the odds...
OBAMA 2012 / DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS 2012
I am voting for Mitt Romney, I don't care what any of you say. 0bama has got to be voted out.
Dave:
What a mental giant! No amount of evidence or reasoning can sway you from your mission to vote for the less qualified individual.
Other than voting against Obama, what are your reasons to vote FOR Romney? What are his plans? How will he deal with international issues (besides banking offshore)?
blearyeyed,
Less qualified ? LOL !! And tell us genius, how does one give evidence for a simple statement of opinion ??
Prior to running for President, Obama was a U.S. Senator with about 2 years experience ... and he frequently failed to vote. There is no evidence Obama ever had a course in basic Accounting, Economics or Finance ... yet it is his duty to submit an annual budget proposal for the entire United States.
Maybe that is why we still have NO BUDGET in Obama's 4th year of office ! Obama's proposals are a joke !
Blearyeyed
Probably never dawned on you to read his plans huh? You just keep asking those questions and don't ever try seeking obvious areas to receive your answers. This is why the term "blind" is used so much when referring to libs.
http://www.mittromney.com/collection/foreign-policy
Less qualified? Really? How was barack qualified to be president? He spent what 143 days in the senate of which he hardly voted for or against anything. He was a community agitator where he demonstrated to people how to organize against anything they felt wasn't catering to their wants. He lectured in Chicago on the constitution, primarily on how to skirt it and how it could be manipulated. He wrote a memoir at what, the age of 30? So please, please, please explain to me what qualified him to be president.
If you want a direct rebuttle to your question it's that Mit has actaully dealt with something that does create jobs, that does produce something, that does contribute to society. He has run a state in a completely hostile environment and he has eons more experience in dealing with economic realities than barack. So just what was your question anyway?
Mental Giant? I don't know about that but compared to the blind ignorance of the barack flock I guess Dave is a mental giant to you guys...good of you to point that out.
Still walking around with holes in your shoes supporting the GOP and their nutty Baggers ?
Mitt is a Flip Flop Flopping empty suit thats good for onething, lining all his buddies pockets !
Romney's foreign policy in a time of War is hiding under his wife's skirt !
Patri-neurotic
You're tactic is just boring now. I can pretty much state what you're going to post every day but there's really no fun in that. I'm sure even your lib counterparts on the vine go "huh?" when they see most of your posts. You just keep dreaming pal/girl/or whatever you claim to be. You just keep dreaming because that's what you're allowed to do in this country. I know you're way more intellectually adapted and all but I'm still not getting the "holes in the shoes" thing at all? Is that something that you chant as you're walking down city alleys looking for a garbage can to sleep behind? I don't know, but you sure are a, elementary speaking, weirdo.
Hey you really bummed me out...where are the 20+ exclamation points after each statement. Did you look up how to use one? Did you? Awe, even though I miss them I'm so proud of you. Well, if you can be taught something maybe there is hope for funky old (whatever gender you are) liberals everywhere. But I have to say the psychotic ranting is a bit unique but disturbing. I think I'm onto something with the homeless reference. Hey neurotic, coincidentally a whole bunch of one percenters donate a whole bunch of money to support some shelters in your area so if it's cold please go in and get warm tonight okay? Just like a "give me everything" liberal, you've got your smart phone but no money for a bed.
Buh bye neurotic.
Rev. Wright issue doesn't matter to most Americans so why bring it up. we seen it over and over when republicans thinks they have something on Obama, but it backfire on their face.
They bring it up again because they are desperate! Romney lies about being the one for the auto industry not going under, he lies about the job situation, unemployment and other things. He says everthing negative about Obama (most of them falsehoods, and bold face lies), and the duh conservatives eat it up! Well, no one will be on stage with him during the upcoming debates with the President.... not even his teleprompter :-) Let's see what he has to say then...you know he doesn't take opposition/confrontation very well. He gets flustered and looks like a deer in the headlights! LOL .. Priceless.
Hush money always backfires when offered...and Wright said he was offered hush money in 2008. I will take the good pastor's word before I trust Obama's word. Be patient. The truth will set us free...of Obama.
Bring on the debates, Romney will eat Obama's lunch...and when Obama begins to stutter, then we know he is grasping for straws in what he is saying. After 3+ years of watching him bloviate in his speeches, it's so obvious to detect when he is hunting for answers...
@FEISTY DEADHEAD: Your main man is going down big time in November, people are waking up and seeing what Obama really is, a LOSER!!!!!
@cliff
Etchy sketchy is also a loser!!!!!!!!!! He won't make it to the oval office, as he has lost more votes than the low informed base of his realizes. He will end up like Newt, a has been shrill political hack.
This thing will backfire on the repubs and ricketts. His cubbys will lose all their basketball game. This will just about guarantee another term for President Obama.
Obama/Biden 2012
Uh, John .....John Skaggs ....... the "CUBBIES" are a BASEBALL TEAM. Okay ! Go back to sleep now !!
it is the dumbest thing i have seen in 4 years. i think the repubs will air the ads. funny how they never seem to learn by mistakes, especialy their own
Romney can run but he can't hide forever. He has to deal with his history at Bain, and it will hurt him in the debates. He reminds me of Sharon Angle running from reporters that wanted to ask her questions she didn't want to address.
A Fox News poll released today shows Obama up by 7% across the board. Romney has already peaked. He is behind by 22% among women - 53% of the electorate. Behind by almost 50% among latinos. And his prospects in the swing states that he so desperately needs don't look good.
Perhaps common sense will prevail over hate after all.
Bain may have shut down some businesses that were not turning a profit, but they also still fund many successful businesses. Look up their portfolio. In capitalism, new companies open and other shut down all the time. The successful ones stay open. Of course no one in the media will cover the success stories so as not to Give Romney any credit for good business decisions...
What successful business or organization has Obama EVER contributed to or been a leader of prior to his Presidency? Name one.
Are we better off 3 1/2 years later? No
Grandma-
We're gaining jobs every month, not losing 750,000 a month.
Stock market doubled.
GM and Chrysler are alive and well, a major boost to the economy.
An absolutely catastrophic collapse of the banks and the economy has been prevented.
Housing market is returning from the abyss.
Iraq war is over, Afghan war winding down, Bin Laden and 80% of all high level operatives - DEAD!
It goes on and on and on... It must be discouraging to insist nothing is better in the face of such evidence to the contrary.
And believe it or not, all accomplished with nothing but obstructionism from Republicans.
Thank you for your service to our great nation President Obama. You deserve re-election.
The Dow is, GM is, Bin Laden isnt , Private sector Job growth is, and yes I am!!!!
Obama/biden 2012
what planet do you hail from DOW?????? really in case you haven't noticed its down 800 points in last 2 weeks. GM------really??? they owes us what 47 BILLION and nobody wants a volt, thats funny troll. Bin laden----thats even more funny. Obama/biden 2012
Just a thought, and it won't look any better four years later after the Election either. Just look at all the stupid people in office now. And the same stupid people voting for them.
MomGrandma:
Yes, you are. If McCain/Palin had won, we'd still be in Iraq, your presciption medicare donut hole would still be there, there would be no home car industry resulting in millionsmore unemployed. And you may even have lost medicare and SS due to the Ryan budget.
Turn off Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity - they are lieing to you.
blearyeyed,
You lose all credibility with a hypothetical question about the future based on something that did not occur in the past. Unless you are "Carnak the Magnificent", you cannot possibly know what MIGHT or MIGHT NOT have happened.
GM went bankrupt anyway and Chrysler is now foreign owned. We are still in Afghanistan and Obama has just extended our long-range commitment to a country who is "hosing" us for billions in foreign aid.
Magic double post deleted.
Robert1319721 – obviously we don’t hail from the same planet as you… we’re from Earth and you are from God knows where!!! You’re probably just an average person working an average job just like everyone else, you probably tend to hate people who you feel are getting something for nothing and your side says that you should be hating the poor because they enjoy getting government assistance, gay people for having the audacity to want rights and be acknowledged, illegals for taking American jobs, and definitely those “Liberals” who seek to turn your country into a “Socialists” society… and the problem is that you believe it…you bought into the notion that these people are the ones to hate, why, because that’s what you’re told?
But what about those at the top who are getting those trillion dollar tax breaks for nothing, who are allowed to takes advantage of loopholes because of their wealth, loopholes that you nor I will be able to use, what about Pharma getting subsidies to develop drugs while selling those drugs everyplace else in the world for a fraction of what they sell them to us for or Oil getting billions in subsidies while generating record profits…. What about those Bush tax cuts that were to create jobs…where are the jobs or the Republicans who when they took control of Congress, Boehner was quoted as saying that the American people spoke and they want jobs, so where are those jobs?
The problem with America isn’t the Republicans or the Democrats, the right or the left, it isn’t Conservatives or even Liberals… It’s actually people like you who don’t even try to vet their candidates, who listen the hyperbole and enthusiastically march into the world repeating the same revilement with dimwitted excitement. Your side questions no one, neither your leaders, Rush or even those imbeciles on Fox and our side questions everyone so what does that tell you!
Where was your outrage when the Supreme Court stopped the Florida recount and appointed GWB president?, where was your indignation when Bush lied us into war?, where was your anger when the right held tax cuts to middle class Americans hostage until the upper 1% got theirs?, and where IS your wrath at a party that has played politics with your life to make sure unemployment stayed high and the economy remained weak all to try to win an election? I used to be a Republican but I can no longer back a party that has refused to back me because I’m NOT RICH ENOUGH!!!!
If you are truly Americans, if you truly care about this country then try to do accomplish just one simple task ….. Try for once to back someone who has some infinitesimal fragment of intelligence, someone that will have the capability of actually moving this country forward for the benefit of ALL Americans instead of someone because they have an ® beside their name! And STOP blaming the so-called “Liberal Media” because your side nominates and often times elects people who don’t even have two brain cells to rub together to create enough friction to formulate a simple thought…that’s not the media’s fault and it isn’t gottcha politics, that just the fact that the person is most often an idiot who can’t intellectually answer the question! and before you start to spew more idiotic crap like marriage equality is a war on marriage, you may want to read a bit more than just the second amendment.... I don't know what Constitution your side uses but the one that formed this nation has a phrase used that you will not find in any other Constitution on Earth - "the pursuit of happiness" and you may want to get one a read the 14th Amendment that requires each state to provide equal protection under the law to all people within its jurisdiction before you start calling those on the left communists, socialists and fascists...matter of fact, you may want to read what tose forms of governing actually mean!
Jeremiah Who? I haven't heard a peep from him since "08! Are you kidding me? Whose "brilliant " idea is this? As far as I'm concerned bringing up Rev. Wright will just backfire. I don't think a whole lot of people will fall for any of it, in regards to making a difference with the election. Especially since Mr. Romney is putting me to sleep.
Peace and God's blessings to all this day.
Update: The video/audio evidence of the Wright book interview that came out last night of Obama's hush money offer to Wright is pretty blatant...don't you think?
The truth shall set us free...of Obama...
Thre Reverend Wright is an ultra-racist and was self-described by Obama as one of the great influences on his life. Not bringing him up would be just ridiculous. Wright is a blight on the face of America.
Then so is Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. I apologize for the repost.
What you talkin bout willis?
Missy
This coming from up to date self proclaimed "well informed" liberals. If you would read more than MSNBC or move-on you might find a more current and very relevant story pertaining to Write.
TNSEVOL
Fallwell and Robertson are extremists, no doubt. I think they're azz-holes for claiming that we deserved 911. I do comprehend their points about the country that somehow flourished for years and held God to a high level of respect and now coincidentally is having more problems and at the same time ridding everything we do from God. NOW please don't be like some of the douche-bags on this vine and stop reading right there and make some dumb ass statements about my perceptions (JOHNB) Stating that, I didn't say I agree but I get their argument about the second half, not the 911 people being "deserving".
Romney spoke at a Christian school for votes. barack attended a church and churches are parallel to schools in that they teach and they help form ones theology and if someone doesn't buy into a particular church's theology they usually don't continue to attend. Writes church has a pretty anti-American and hateful theology and preaches based on it. barack attended that church for 20 years but when it came to politics he distanced himself from one of the primary sources that shaped who he is.
Now the new interviews with Write are coming out (not on MSNBC of course) and he explains in detail the deals, bribes and hushing that baracks team went through to make sure they weren't closely associated with one another. The question is WHY? The answer is; because if more of the country found out more of his rooted beliefs the presidency could have been lost.
We could go back and forth all day with stupidity from both side; I could ask why the presidential candidate of the US didn't chastise the black pansy party for showing up at voting booths with weapons in hand. You could ask why Romney "evolved" in his pro life stance but why barack is a flip-flopper on his gay stance. Wait, no, that's the other way around. Anyway, hope you get my point.
So outrage because Romney spoke at a Christian school?..eh, kind of thin. Outrage about bribery and information cover-up regarding someones religious education with anti-American under/overtones for 20 years? I don't know, that sounds like a better documentary to me.
So many mis-conceptions...so little time!
First off....the Mormon church does not ban blacks as members....just read cover article in this week's Sports Illustrated.
Second, Romney had participated in a little hairctting as a prep, while Obama admittedly was drinking and doing drugs ...see his book, in his own words. HMMMM
Black un-employment, especially for young black men, has skyrocketed under Obama ... so much for voting for your "homie".
Obama condemns banks and wall street and the 1% (includes his Hollywood friends like Clooney), yet not only provides support for them, but is controlled by them
Last, how can anyone view NBC or MSNBC as non-bias is a miracle to me. They shill for Obama and his cronies at every opportunity.
I'm sure the Obama zombies will continue to ignore facts, and drink more cool-aid, as long as the govt provides it for them.
.
The RePub Rightwingwackos are the Zombies, anyone for a cup of rotten Tea ?
$10 Million? Yeah, go ahead and spend that money, LOL.
