VIDEO: The Week That Was

It was the week President Obama and Mitt Romney were not expecting. NBC's Domenico Montanaro discusses Obama's support for gay marriage and an article about Romney in prep school.

The Washington Post smearing GOP candidates is not a surprise; it is as predictable as Feisty Redhead posting first, most of the time.

Guess what...

You don't have to read the Washington Post...just like you don't have to read Feisty's posts.

Have a nice day!!!

No one has to "smear" GOP candidates. They do that all on their own.

The problem for the WaPo is that lots of people don't read it- I believe their subscription rate dropped something like 17%, with a concurrent drop in ad rates.

I'm pretty sure botched, hatchet job stories like this have something to do with it.

I wonder, though- if high school stories are now germane to presidential elections, will we be getting a series on Obama's prep school days, too? The ones he claims to have gone through in a drug and alcohol induced "haze"?

Hey, congratulations, Bob - you had the first spot and the entire thread all to yourself for 31 minutes! Feel better now?

If not, here's something to brighten you day, from our First Lady's speech at the Virginia Tech graduation earlier today:

"I also want to recognize Governor McDonnell and Mrs. McDonnell, who are here not just as Virginia’s Governor and First Lady but as proud parents.
Congratulations to both of you and your family."

    Pretty classy, huh?

Yes she is. We here in Chi-town are so proud of her. She dresses beautifully, her hairstyles are beautiful, and is so kind. In fact, we are proud of all of our First Family. She and Vice President's Biden wife work so hard with the veterans. They are both beautiful, gracious women.

    I agree, classy statement.

Glad to have the First Lady in Virginia, she made a very graceful speech.

Mitt Romney will make a speech tomorrow at a Virginia college.

Here in Virginia, we will see at lot of both of them in the coming months.

Nice to live in a swing state...when I l grew up in moonbatty Massachusetts, it was a leftist dicatorship, Republicans never had a chance.

Mrs Obama may well run across Governor McDonnell again, when he takes the oath of office as Vice President.

Bob in VA - In your dreams - first that McDonnell will be Romney's pick and 2nd that Romney will win. And, President Obama will not have either around for his swearing in for his 2nd term.

GermanGem - clearly your only taste is in your mouth. And, that's probably bad too.

Michelle Obama is elegant, classy, intelligent, and we are lucky to have her represent the US!

Why is Michelle Obama running around at tax payers expense giving commencement speeches anyway, shouldn't she be home taking care of her own kids? Oh yea, I forgot we tax payers and her mother are taking care of her kids while she's out giving political speeches.

      sfcret -

You disappoint me - I thought you were one of the more reasonable people from the other side on here. As you well know, commencement speakers are INVITED to speak by the college or university in question. I would imagine they picked up the same expenses for Michelle Obama that they would have for Ann Romney or Michelle Bachmann or Ann Coulter or Oprah Winfrey, for crying out loud. And if you actually read the text of her speech, you'd find very little politics in there. And I hate to break it to you, but we taxpayers are paying for the Obama girls to live in the White House even when Mrs. Obama is there - the same way we've paid for every other President's wives and children and siblings and in-laws and any other relatives who have lived there since the place was built. Should the Obamas have sent them away to boarding school for eight years?

Really, I had no idea you were this petty.....
