VIDEO: The Week Ahead: Mathmatology 101

Commencement season, Romney raises money in Florida, Obama raises money in New York with Ricky Martin, the G-8 Summit, and Andy's new "insider" strategy. He's really got the nomination "locked up."

Discuss this post

Man the older you get the faster these weeks go. Friday already and it seems like it was just Monday morning and the alarm was going off.
Now since its Mother's Day weekend down at the Dew Drop Inn and the President has made himself clear on where he stands on the subject I reckon I ought to make Dew Drop Inn policy clear. Around here we define Motherhood as that person that has devoted a certain portion of their life to making sure that you developed into the person that you are. Trust me the Denizens of the Dew Drop Inn don't care whether your Momma's name is Steve or Bernice. Just as long as you love 'em that's good enough for us.
But before we get into all that lets hit a few other points.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — George Lindsey, who spent nearly 30 years as the grinning Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Hee Haw," has died. He was 83.
Lindsey was the beanie-wearing Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" from 1964 to 1968 and its successor, "Mayberry RFD," from 1968 to 1971. He played the same jovial character – a service station attendant – on "Hee Haw" from 1971 until it went out of production in 1993.
"America has grown up with me," Lindsey said in an Associated Press interview in 1985. "Goober is every man; everyone finds something to like about ol' Goober."
Although he was best known as Goober, Lindsey had other roles during a long TV career. Earlier, he often was a "heavy" and once shot Matt Dillon on "Gunsmoke."
His other TV credits included roles on "M*A*S*H," `'The Wonderful World of Disney," `'CHIPs," `'The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," `'The Real McCoys," `'Rifleman," `'The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," `'Twilight Zone" and "Love American Style."
Reflecting on his career, he said in 1985: "There's a residual effect of knowing I've made America laugh. I'm not the only one, but I've contributed something."
Old "Goober" brought me a lot of laughs over the years and is the main reason that I don't take offense when somebody says I'm a "Goober"
He was by all accounts a kind and gentle man. Journey well into that great beyond there Goober.
We have two everyday Heroes this week:

We think you are Hero to Sarge. Thanks for your service and for reminding us that no Marine stands taller than he does in his child's hopes and dreams
And Michael you are as big a hero as your Dad. Thanks for working so hard and long to give your Dad something that no other could give. You're a special kid. We raise a glass to you'll and in the hopes that in the not too distant future we can see many more such scenes.
Over at the Come Back Inn it is of course Mother's Day weekend. We've got a whole lot of things lined up to honor Mom's of all descriptions and ages starting with room service and running to any kind of spa pampering you can think of. Shucks we've even got the Chippendales lined up for a ladies only performance in the big room Saturday night. Live like you want to live there Momma.

As always my thanks and appreciation to our hosts for their time, giving me a little place to stand, a subject to comment on, a forum to put it in, and their indulgence when I don't quite get it right or get a little off subject. I purely do appreciate it. Hope you'll have a fine weekend and good fun among folks that you know and love. To my fellow participants keep well, keep safe, and keep the faith. We'll make it. See you'll next week

RIP Goober

Independent Redneck Va., Thanks for thinking of us ladies on Mother's Day weekend. Soon as I'm done at the Dew Drop Inn I'll be tipping over yonder to the Comeback Inn.

I loves me some country music. It sounds like the blues to me.

This will be my third Mother's Day without having my Mom at my side.

In celebration of the terrific woman she was and all she did to shape me, I believe this quote sums her up the best;

To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. - Maya Angelou

To all those who are blessed to still have your Mother with you - give her an extra tight hug on Sunday!

Happy Mother's Day to all of us who makes the world go round...

See ya'll over at the Dew Drop Inn, it's been one wild week! ;o)

Nice tribute and shout out to everyday heroes, IR! Every now and then I catch the Andy Griffith reruns; between Gomer and Goober and a few other quirky characters, it is always entertaining.

Saturday is the US Post Office's annual food drive so if you've got some spare, nonparishable food, put it by your mail box. The food stays local and these days, even one can or box of something is a help. Here, the Boy Scouts go around and collect but every town is different.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm headed over to the DDI to enjoy the festivities.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Grandmoms.

Thank you, Uncle R! I was trying to decide which tune to spin first on the old jukebox this week myself, since it was quite a week. My two-year anniversary here at First Read (and I would never be here if if you hadn't inspired me to take the plunge!), the historic announcement by our President about gay and lesbian couples having the same rights to happy marriages as the rest of us, and Mother's Day coming up. Think I finally managed to come up with the perfect one to celebrate all three, a Pete Seeger song done by my all-time favorite female singer, the late Eva Cassidy (and her favorite song, too):

"Oh, had I a golden thread
And a needle so fine
I would weave a magic spell
Of a rainbow design.

In it I would weave the courage
Of women giving birth.
And in it I would weave the innocence
Of the children of all the earth.

I want to show my brothers and sisters
My rainbow design
Cause I would bind up this sorry world
With hand and heart and mind
Oh, hand and heart and mind.

Oh, had I a golden thread
And a needle so fine
I would weave a magic spell
Of a rainbow design.
Of a rainbow design."

No Feisty she won't. But that's okay because my one and only daughter will be with me in spirit.

We always exchanged Mother's Day gifts when she was here. Tony and my granddaughter came over Wednesday night. She got all "A"s and is done with this semester. She has one more semester then she'll be done with grad school.

I gave Tony his toy guitar I bought him Wednesday night. He was so happy and started singing and playing it immediately.

I'm on way down to DDI; hope you got the popcorn ready. I'll need a real cold one to go with it.

Thank you newsday

My granddaughter shared a beautiful dream she had about her mother. She said there were some mornings she didn't want to get because was so tired. Plus, she had to do some lab work in Schaumburg; IL which is far away (Feisty lives that way). Her car got totaled. So it's public transportation all the way from the south side.

One morning she dreamed her mother came in to wake her up.

Isn't that beautiful?

Feisty I got some Popeye's coupons will do.

One of my girlfriend decided we are going a boat trip for my birthday in July. If you would like to come you're invited. Also, we gotta start campaigning. I plan on going down town soon. And I promised you we got to help get rid of "Deadbeat Dad". Let me know when you want me to help.

Independent Radical Leftist Redneck,

Virginia's Democratic US Senate candidate Tim Kaine refuses to back President Obama's support of gay marriage. He is waffling, big time.

Trouble in paradise?

Glad the President stopped his waffling on the issue; but surely you know his position will only hurt him politically in Virginia. His already-poor chances of winning Virginia just went South.

Virginians less optimistic about McDonnell, direction of state, Post poll finds
By Anita Kumar, Peyton M. Craighill and Scott Clement, Published: May 7The Washington Post
RICHMOND — After a contentious legislative session that drew large protests and national ridicule to the state Capitol, Virginians are less supportive of Gov. Robert F. McDonnell and less optimistic about the direction of the state, according to a poll by The Washington Post.
The approval rating for McDonnell (R) dropped six points over the past year, from 62 percent to 56 percent. Thirty-five percent disapprove of the job he is doing — a nine-point increase from a year ago.
The governor still has firmly positive ratings at a time of political discord nationwide. But he has lost support among independents and urban women after a 12-month period that closed with a partisan standoff over the state budget and an uproar over a bill requiring women seeking an abortion to first undergo a vaginal ultrasound.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc-politics/virginians-less-optimistic-about-mcdonnell-direction-of-state-post-poll-finds/2012/05/06/gIQAnc9x6T_story.html?hpid=z2
Ken Cuccinelli's case against Bank of New York Mellon is dismissed
By Anita Kumar, Published: May 6
RICHMOND — First, an appeals court tossed out his challenge to the federal health-care law. Months later, the Virginia Supreme Court rejected an assertion by Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II that the state's flagship university had to turn over documents on global warming to his office.
And last week, a judge dismissed his lawsuit against a major New York City bank he claims defrauded state and local pension funds of $40 million.
That makes the third legal defeat for Cuccinelli (R) in the past six months — a highly public setback for the outspoken attorney general as he kicks off his gubernatorial campaign ahead of what is expected to be a contentious primary next year.
Critics charge that Cuccinelli has engaged in high-profile cases to garner attention, saying he should instead resign to run for governor as most of his predecessors have done.

___________________________________________________________
So Old McDonnell's poll numbers are sinking like a rock as are all the Governor's with extreme T.P. connections. Mr. Romney has even taking him off the list of folks being vetted for Vice-president. Old Cootch has turned out to be a bad Lawyer in addition to being a Fool and you think that Virginians are crazy enough to vote for him. Just you Carpetbaggers Bob.
Now go away and quit bothering me Little Yahoo. It's the weekend and I try to avoid Partisan Politics for a while. Tell me what you want to drink down at the DDI and I'll buy you a drink or bring me a story about someone who has inspired you. But give the Bushra a rest you'll be better off for it.

Governor McDonnell in a WaPost poll which as usual oversamples Democrats, still has a 56% approval rating?

56% !!!! And this is seen as good news by progressives? LOL...you have started drinking early.

Obama is far far south , nowhere near 50%....Obama will not win Virginia, face the facts! Drink up.

A 56% APPROVAL RATING?

Wow - I remember back when Obama had numbers like that.

That sure was a long time ago.

Hey Bob - just what do you think Obama will choose for a distraction next week. I mean we all know that he cannot talk about his rocking economy [horrid GDP, huge unemployment, and now JP Morgan on his watch] so .....

I'm thinking he'll go with immigration. You know it can be like Gay marriage - big proclamation, zero action.

THoughts?

IR,

I am ready to celebrate Mother's day in style. Raised two sons. Taught them how to iron and sort laundry when they were in 9th grade. Told them that modern day women they will meet in their 20's will want them to have some life skills. they both married wonderful women and have given me three lovely grandchildren.

So this abuela will toast my own mother and grandmothers with a well mixed Comos.

Then off to the wonderful spa to round out the evening with laughter, fun and good conversation.

All FR poster and our hosts:enjoy all the women in your life and let them know it. :)

Dear IR: Fridays would be nothing without words of wisdom from the hill! Thanks, my friend!

What oh what have we learned this week? Wowzers, a great plenty. We have learned that Mittens has some difficulty with "locking on" to things that are outside of how he thinks they should be. Couple of things stick out for me, and to other objective folks, interested in facts. First: I am FASCINATED at the clear memory that Mitt's schoolmates had of this attack, and how guilty they felt about it. I am equally FASCINATED at dear Mittens, who says he just doesn't remember doing it. There can only be a few reasons for that: Perhaps this was routine behavior for Mitty, and darn it, you just can't remember every kid you attacked. Maybe he chooses NOT to remember, makes him sound like a mean rich kid don't you know. And maybe, just maybe, Mitt really has trouble empathizing with people who are not himself. If the latter is true, all of you should be very worried that this nutjob thinks that he should be leader of the free world.

This seems to be a pattern of behavior for our little rich boy. Tormenting a nearly blind teacher was sure fun and a good laugh for him. And it absolutely escapes our feckless hero why putting a dog in a kennel on the roof of a car might be considered maltreatment. Mitty, I travel with dogs, and I am in a kennel club with people who show some pretty expensive dogs. There is no such thing as an "air tight kennel". Dog has to breathe.

We also learned that our friend no jo, no slouch herself for bullying people on the 'vine has turned a blind eye to Mitt's assault on that young man. See, it gets in the way of her daily made up rants against her President. If someone else had indicated that this behavior was acceptable for anyone else, no jo would call them a bigot. Waiting for her to call herself one.

But, it's almost Mother's Day. To all my friends, and yes, even my foes, a very happy Mom's day to you all. I will be celebrating with cherubs this weekend. Hope you are all with family that you love.

Mom, darn it, that plate is moving again, which means you know, don't you? And you want me to know you know. You always were clever, and I know you are bringing joy to the angels and to Himself. I miss you every day.

I think it is going to get worse, lisa: the election is getting closer.
And there are some historic animosities on FR that never get better. For me? I can't understand (and I am very serious about this) how an attack on an innocent kid is justified by the Romney fans. I honestly just don't get it. And I don't handle those things well.

There is the anonymity of the whole thing too. People say things to avatars that they would never say to other people. Human nature, I guess.

Gallup is out with a new poll suggesting a whopping 40 percent of Americans say President Obama's newly public support of gay marriage will affect their votes.

Overall, respondents approved of the president's support of gay marriage 51-45...But 26 percent say it will make them less likely to vote for Obama, while 13 percent say it will make them more likely to vote for him.

The critical number in the poll, though is for independents - 23 percent of whom said the gay marriage support makes it less likely they will vote for Obama.
Why did Obama wait so long "evolving" on gay marriage, even though support for gay marriage is rising, young people and his liberal base are in favor, and 1 in 6 of his big money contributors are gay activists?
His political handlers are not stupid. This is why! Gay marriage will win him more votes in California, New York and Massachusetts.
But swing states which Obama carried in 2008 like North Carolina (where over 60% voted against gay marriage Tuesday) , Indiana, Missouri, may now already be out of Obama's reach. It hurts his already-poor chances in Virginia (where Dem Senate candidate Tim Kaine refused to take Obama's position), Ohio, Florida (lots of elderly).

Gallup analyst Jeffrey Jones said that at first blush, it would appear the declaration is a "net minus" for Obama, although that could change.

"It is important to note that the poll's results give a sense of Americans' immediate reactions to Obama's position," he wrote in his analysis. "It is possible that the impact of Obama's same-sex marriage position will ultimately be greater or lesser, depending on the attention paid to the same-sex marriage issue during the duration of the presidential campaign."
My guess is greater.

If I might interject-

This is only an opinion, but I think the "less likely" comes from people who see through it as a diversion. When I stood in line to pay my property taxes this week, just a day after the major "pronouncement", it was a topic of conversation among those there for the same purpose. One man opined that this was Obama trying, desperately, to change the conversation- away from the economy, jobs, and the debt. All there agreed with him.

At a family dinner last night, my uncle and his partner, (who campaigned for Obama last time, became "Republi-crats" in 2010, and plan to vote for Romney this time), pointed out that Obama gave his PERSONAL opinion this week, immediately said it was a "states rights" issue, and, in general, offered nothing more than hot air on the issue.

I pointed out that Obama still had not signed the EO that would bar government contractors from discriminating against LGBT employees- so they were right.

Ah, well- at least the Hollywood folks are as dumb as Obama thinks they are- the rest of us? Not so much.

See what I mean, folks? Here is our favorite bully no jo AGAIN.

So upset at her President for made up issues.

No jo: Romney bullied a gay young man. He used slurs against others that he thought might be gay. He tormented a nearly blind teacher.

Until you "come out" about those issues, we simply do not believe that you are concerned about LGBT issues at all.

I get it. There is a "follow author" feature on this blog. I'm honored to be so important to the Libs R Us crowd that you follow me- so, every time I post, you get notified.

Wow. I guess I'm a celebrity!

Actually the “Follow Author” feature only allows members to be alerted when the member being followed authors an article, not any comment they make.

And still no coherent response from no jo: only more personal invective.

So pick one, no jo: Is Mitt Romney a reasonable choice for leader of the free world or is he a bigot who was a gay basher in this youth?

Love your inflated ego, no jo, and how you are using it to avoid the question.

So which is it no jo; honesty or bigotry? Are LGBT issues only important to you when you can attack your President? Hate to think that you might be a hypocrite.

If anyone believes that no joe's brother and his partner are going to vote for Romney I have a beautiful bridge I'd love to sell you. No individual who is in a same sex relationship is about to vote Republican - not after the hatred shown by that party. But, nj posts nonsense all the time. Why should this be any different?

Youre absolutely right about my "brother and his partner". Neither of my brothers have partners.

My UNCLE, on the other hand, does. And, yes, they will be voting for Romney. So, by the way, will my father- first time he's voted republican in his entire life.

Obama is just that bad.

Why are they under water especially the Mexican with the highest rate? Because Obama put them their with his games and so called bail outs. In Fact, it was Clinton and Freddie and Fanny that started it all. These are facts you will not hear from the Unions today on how bad teachers are in Black schools and can not be fired. In fact, the best school system is now New Orleans because of the Hurricane and the Unions can not get back to destroying lives of minorities that we need just as anyone we need in America today to compete with China and the new capitalistic countries Germany and Korea.

We need teachers to be held accountable or how will they learn to compete?

What we have with Obama is socialism that makes people of all races lazy without goals and hate each other. America today can not compete with China or Germany only France and Spain. Obama used drugs and cocaine in collage and the news talks about a child in 1962. We need to teach children to think outside the box not just republican or not just democrat, forget color we are all humans.

We need people to be independents not followers of their own race haters that make money by keeping their own people in chains. Marx is laughing at the press in his grave and Dr. King is crying. The Government is wrong, the press lies, and the president and Vice President are killers of your children.

A president that sends a happy birthday message to Mothers but never mentions his own now cared. He just wants to be re-elected. What a sad man.

It was a bad week for the media, it seems. First, the WaPo printed an easily debunked hatchet job on Romney- complete with made up quotes- one from a dead man!

Then, it turned out that all the while Michelle Bachman was campaigning for president-and the media was busy trying to make some of her completely factual statements look ridiculous- this was out there

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/76175.html

Of course, there is a line in there attempting to exhonorate the media by claiming this only happened in March- but the fact remains that the woman had dual citizenship since 1978.

Think that little fact might have been found out by a media too interested in people's high school days?

Nah.

Great job, there, professional journalists!

In Obamas "auto biography"(schemes of my father) he admits while in grade school, pushing down a GIRL classmate named Corretta. Though some liberals have tried to defend "the one" and claim self defense( as a boy growing up I was taught never to hurt girls no matter what), the point is Obama shoved a girl to the ground and made her run away, crying. But of course instead of "righteous indignation" from the left, they instead scramble to defend. It does not surprise me in the least, given the libs that post here, the "double standard". How sad and pathetic it is to be so vested in trying to defend the defenseless, like Obamas destruction of the economy, liberals jump on every "hit-piece" and run with it. There is another book besides "Dreams of my Father" that one can read as an insight into the REAL Obama, its called "The Amateur" by Ed Kline.

You make my point for me, Mruseurhead: but of course, you lack the intellectual capacity to understand that:

Interesting, isn't it, that your President relates this memory and is ashamed of it.

Mittens, on the other hand, conveniently "can't remember" a serious gay bashing incident that he was not just involved in, he incited others to behave in a pack like manner, to attack a student who did nothing to provoke him.

Now. Don't give me the usual bs excuses that we get from the likes of you.

Is gay bashing right or wrong?

I will as usual NEWDAY, consider the source, and since you are not intelligent enough not to be a liberal, enough said. Not only did "Mittens" as you so cleverly put it(going along with your own "pack" mentality there, hhmmm) did not remember the incident, he did apologize. The family of the "victim" also stated that their, now deceased brother would be angry knowing someone was politicizing his life. But you on the left don't care about his family wishes either, do you? But as usual liberals like yourself, can't help but lemmingly spew whatever new liberal "hit-piece" comes down the pike, also a sign of either ignorance or an incapability to think for oneself. So take your comment about BS and place it in your.....never mind never argue stupid. PEACE...............

My goodness, Mruseurhead: You have a very short fuse when challenged.

But, as is the usual with the fringe right wing "teabaggers", you avoided the question with personal invective:

So answer it: is gay bashing right or wrong?

Or if it will make it easier for you: is someone like poor Mittens equipped to be the leader of the free world when he led a pack of 'dogs" against a kid that had done nothing to him, simply because, well, he is Mittens and he CAN?

HMMMM?

And I am so sorry that you are so jealous of the votes I get. Perhaps someone would vote for you if you posted something worth reading.

Mruseurhead:

If you had actually read the passage you're referring to instead of listening to a whisper-down-the-lane version spouted by Limbaugh or Hannity or The Blaze, you'd know that you're repeating a lie. The girl was not shoved to the ground, and there is no mention of her running away crying. The whole passage is actually written in response to the teasing and feelings of being an outcast he felt once he started attending school in Hawaii. However, the 10-year-old Barack Obama still felt remorse for his actions. Mitt Romney has yet to do the same, even though his bullying - at age 18 - was deliberate:

"There was one other child in my class, though, who reminded me of a different sort of pain. Her name was Coretta, and before my arrival she had been the only black person in our grade. She was plump and dark and didn’t seem to have many friends. From the first day, we avoided each other but watched from a distance, as if direct contact would only remind us more keenly of our isolation.

Finally, during recess one hot, cloudless day, we found ourselves occupying the same corner of the playground. I don’t remember what we said to each other, but I remember that suddenly she was chasing me around the jungle gyms and swings. She was laughing brightly, and I teased her and dodged this way and that, until she finally caught me and we fell to the ground breathless. When I looked up, I saw a group of children, faceless before the glare of the sun, pointing down at us.

“Coretta has a boyfriend! Coretta has a boyfriend!”

The chants grew louder as a few more kids circled us.“She’s not my g-girlfriend,” I stammered. I looked to Coretta for some assistance, but she just stood there looking down at the ground. “Coretta’s got a boyfriend! Why don’t you kiss her, mister boyfriend?”

“I’m not her boyfriend!” I shouted. I ran up to Coretta and gave her a slight shove; she staggered back and looked up at me, but still said nothing. “Leave me alone!” I shouted again. And suddenly Coretta was running, faster and faster, until she disappeared from sight. Appreciative laughs rose around me. Then the bell rang, and the teachers appeared to round us back into class.

For the rest of the afternoon, I was haunted by the look on Coretta’s face
just before she had started to run: her disappointment, and the accusation.
I wanted to explain to her somehow that it had been nothing personal;
I’d just never had a girlfriend before and saw no particular need to have one now. But I didn’t even know if that was true. I knew only that it was too late for
explanations, that somehow I’d been tested and found wanting; and whenever I
snuck a glance at Coretta’s desk, I would see her with her head bent over her work, appearing as if nothing had happened, pulled into herself and asking no favors. My act of betrayal bought me some room from the other children, and like Coretta, I was mostly left alone. I made a few friends, learned to speak less often in class, and managed to toss a wobbly football around. But from that day forward, a part of me felt trampled on, crushed, and I took refuge in the life that my grandparents led....

"Dreams From My Father "- page 60-61

Any attempt to try and equate these two incidents is patently ludicrous.

Oh excuse the F- out of me, Edward gee, let me be the first to applaud your sharp eye and willingness to point out my type-o, I hope it somehow elevates your ego. And let me guess what political persuasion, your "so-called" academic (you mis-spelled academic, wow I'm a genius like you by pointing out something pointless) and "professional journalists(drive-by). Would kinda be like someone taking something posted by NEWDAY up there as "gospel". And I really don't need someone such a NewDay or Fiesty, or anyone else for that matter voting my posts up. Unlike that group who simply "cut and paste" their wisdom, and spew mantra, I actually research my content before commenting. And Kleins book "The Amateur" is actually made up of quotes about Obama from several different people, including Oprah and BJ Clinton, and from several sources, not Klein. And Newday up there posting about Romneys "gang of thugs, wolf-pack, beating gays, really? When will liberals realize that just average Americans are "so over" gotcha politics. What does it say about YOUR candidate for President, that instead of allowing him to run on the strength of his record in office? And your only argument for people to re-elect him is, "yeah, we know his first term was a disaster.........but at least he is better than the other guy because he was a meany when he was a kid 50 years ago. Do not expect votes on MSN, only liars and libs get votes here, and am proud to say I am neither.

Ahh, isn't that cute? More from Mruseurhead, a man who clearly doesn't know that the word "research" refers to peer reviewed literature, and not a screed from a right wing hack.

No, you didn't do research, you would not know how. What you did was read a book by an "author" (and I use the term loosely when referring to Klein) that no reputable academic takes seriously. You like the book because it agrees with what you want to believe. In the undereducated "teabagger" mind, the gossip in the book becomes fact. You simply hate this President (either because he is black or a Democrat, or both) and all evidence aside...you want to believe his first term is a disaster. It wasn't. Your President saved the economy of this nation, and you can't stand that.

And you use it to avoid my question again! Can't answer, can you, because Romney is a thug who should have gone to jail.

Let's give you one more chance: Is gay bashing right or wrong?

What really makes me laugh at you, and there is plenty in your posts that provide all the levity I need today, is this:

You are jealous that I have friends. Why is it that "teabaggers" so desperately want friends, but never can make any? Lack of social skill? Having read your posts, that would be my first guess.

But I am happy with my friends, after all, they provide the sweetness to life! Perhaps that is why you are so angry and unhappy.

If you try very hard, and if you are more polite to people, why perhaps you could make a friend too!

Again with the clever liberal mantra, "teabaggers" how mature. Did you get that saying from one of your "online VIRTUAL friends", or make it up on your own? I never responded to your "question" because it comes from your lack of intellect, the fact you are a "tool" for the left, a brainless nobody who simply "parrots" the newest hit-piece MSN and other liberal media sites post and runs with it. Merely a lemming, posting clever little "shots"(just repeating the newest put-down remark, unable to think up something witty on your own) at the right, hoping your "virtual" friends will approve. To respond to your "gay bashing" question only "advances" your "lemming" mentality, screw the reality that this Nation has been spent into near bankruptcy in less than 4 years, lets keep that person in office and ignore his record, because he likes gays, women, and cute little puppies, and the "other guy" is a meanie. And your "proof" is a story, dug up by "journalist" from 50 years ago. And on top of all that, the family of the now deceased "victim" of the incident, neither remembers it and asks out of respect not to "politicize" it. But your lemming mentality will not allow you to respect these wishes, will it? And you have the audacity to call me an "angry teabagger", why because I won't join with your VIRTUAL "friends" and advance your "gay bashing" mantra. It also surprises me none your "out of hand " dismissal of a book written about Obama, which sheds a new insight on him, again unsurprising because any attempt in VETTING the man 4 years ago, was squelched then as well. In closing, no I do not believe it is right to hurt others. Whether it is because of race, religion, gender, or anything I may deem "different" from myself. The fact that those we meet in our short trip through life are different, is what makes life interesting and worth living. I also respect that others have different political views from my own as well, and do have to need to "sling" put down remarks to gain acceptance, in a VIRTUAL world, from nameless AVATARS, to "complete" me as a person either. Angry, unhappy, jealous, lack of social skill(s), "peer reviewed" literature(really you are that desperate for acceptance you need others to approve what you read?), you even just had to throw the race card( again how "original" of you). Please note that other than "liberal", I did not call you any names. I will now go back to my "real" world, and bid those in your VIRTUAL world and your VIRTUAL friends, a Happy Mothers Day. PEACE....................
