What Ron Paul has been doing is everything possible to get delegates favorable to him selected, even if they had to vote for someone else on the first ballot.

What was going on was Ron Paul was using campaign funds to purchase tickets to CPAC and giving them to people loyal to him in sufficient numbers to win. A Rasmussen poll has the Republican/TP Inc. candidate ahead of the Democrat?!?!?!? Now there's a BIG surprise! The most slanted to the right pollster has the right wing person winning.

Now here is the rub: if the Republican/TP Inc. candidate is only 1% point ahead of the Democrat in the most biased to the Republican/TP Inc. poll, then that really doesn't look good for the Republican/TP Inc. person. Shoot, 1% is well within the margin of error. Only a deluded fool would be celebrating those numbers, and predicting a win based on them 6 months away from the election.

Right... Obama was an anomaly the first time. After what the country saw as a very unsatisfactory 8 years under Bush, Obama got elected under a message of hope and change for the future. Republicans have been trying and failing to turn around their party since. The second term he was elected because he now had experience at the position and had little to worry about as far as candidates from the opposition. I mean for Pete sake, he was facing Mitt "I changed my mind" Romney-care. Romney was their chosen candidate and even the Conservatives didn't like him. It was sad when they kept trying to find someone else in the Primary but couldn't. Now, I must say that one thing Republicans haven't done well since Ronald Reagan is optimism. Positive messages are generally more effective than the extremely negative campaigning that infests our politics these days. The GOP could learn a thing or two from that.

Anyway, the point is that it isn't that easy to run. Just ask Mitt Romney. The chances of getting elected like that are slim to none. Anyone who thinks they can successfully run on little to no experience because Obama did is probably kidding themselves. He was just in the right campaign at the right time. Twice. Don't see that happening a third time.

NDAA - National Defense Authorization Act. Vetoing the NDAA would have shut down the entire military - the military would not have had the authority to exist.

If the squawkers actually knew anything about how the government operates - they would understand that Congress first authorizes government operations and then provides funding for the authorized operations. Funding without authorization does not work.

A candidate will identify a group of voters and offer to make what is, in effect, a trade -- in exchange for your support in the election, the candidate will deliver a policy that will make a material difference in your life.

But Romney's appeal to the American mainstream, reinforced by today's op-ed, is to tell them that public institutions will simply stop trying to offer them benefits, protections, and safeguards. He doesn't have anything to offer in exchange for votes, except a pat on the back and best wishes when already-struggling people find themselves more isolated and on their own.

His is an agenda of austerity, a sharp reduction in public investments, and hostility towards government activism in general. In a transactional sense, Romney has to hope most voters aren't looking to make a traditional electoral trade, because he doesn't intend to give them anything.

If you want a future for yourself and your daughters, vote to reelect President Obama.

One of the reasons why the debt looks like it is so much higher under President Obama rather than Bush is because President Obama is counting ALL of the spending. Bush and his Republican Congress who brought us two unfunded wars, two unfunded tax cuts, a massive, unfunded, new entitlement, the largest expansion of government since LBJ, the largest increase in energy prices in any 8 year period in our history, along with a net loss of jobs over 8 years all while turning the largest surplus of all times into the largest deficit of all times and leaving office with the worst economy since the depressions.

In watching the Rock Center Special on bin Laden by Brian Williams (the video is free on the Internet if you haven't seen it yet), the president was impressive going to a disaster area while the Seals were en route, at the dinner while the seals were at their ETA, and never a moment did he shirk his duties or show any sign of the stress he was under. On top of that he was so thoughtful, so humble, and so thankful to his team. When he sat in a folding chair off to the side, I thought how Romney would have had the military person move from the head seat at the table.

The whole issue of experience is so overblown. Most people have forgotten that Dick Cheney was asked byBush to help pick his VP. Cheney decided that the perfect candidate would be someone who had been a leader in Congress, had worked in the White House, had served as Secretary of a major Department and as the CEO of a major corporation. Surprisingly, there was only one man in the country with all of those credentials. Eight years later, Mr. Cheney left office with an approval rating even lower than Bush, who had he lowest ever recorded for a President. Thanks to his experience and effectiveness, we were involved in two wars that were going abdly, had more than doubled the national debt and the economy was on the verge of the Second Great Depression. I will take an intelligent, thoughtful, pragmatic and well meaning amateur any day over a high powered expert in that mode.

At least Romney has a plan, where as Obama doesn't plan, he just talks that he does. Obama has yet to have a budget. His only budget is spend, spend and spend. Then print more money, print more money. Obama's deficit has been over $1.3 Trillion dollars a year for the past 3.5 years. The highest over all the past presidents. The republicans tried to work with the democrats on spending. Obama wanted a blank check, which the republicans said absolutely NO. Reid has been holding bills and not presenting them for a vote, deliberately against the republicans trying to work a budget. Why is Reid sabotaging both the democrats and republicans? This is hurting America what Reid is doing or not doing. All the blame is not the republicans but both parties. Neither party are thinking of the best for America, but for themselves. Parties should be done away with and just have the Americas party. American citizens are losing from all the Treasonous politicians.

Reid is sitting on a lot of so-called bills submitted by the bush league Boy Scout Tea Party congressmen that are nothing but a colossal waste of time, they won't pass the Senate, and if they did by some miracle, they would quickly get Veto'd. These naive little boy scouts have no idea how to be successful in Washington. America is slow to change, BY DESIGN, that's why we have survived as a country for two hundred plus years. When these petty little idealistic dreamers grow up they might become real congressmen but I am guessing that they will fail their re-election attempts before they get the chance. Republicans applauded when their Minority Leader McConnell prevented even the debating of bills that passed the House when the Democrats had control. A record 127 filibusters. They sure get upset though when the Majority Leader, knowing that he has he votes to defeat them, exercises his right to table their one sided bills.

The GOP is in denial and will not accept any news as good news if it helps President Obama. Although There have been over 4 million private sector job created in the last 2 years they will not accept that as good news. They would rather go back to when President Obama took over and we were losing 750,000 private sector jobs a month. They think that going back to Bush's failed economic policies would be better.

I believe he went to college then worked and then went to law school. And later decided he could help people more being a politician. I wonder if he has decided that now that is an almost impossible job. Some of the haves just don't want the havenots to be haves too. Wonder if they ever ponder how they got what they got. Unless it was given to them I imagine someone helped them a bit. As I hear the repubicans I wonder how we could have such ignorant people in America! They will believe anything! Well said! The other issue that gets ignored is that of character. Romney got a first class education (paid for by a rich father) and then took that to Wall Street to get even richer than he was. Obama also got a first class education (paid for by student loans that he had to repay). He also could have gone down to Wall Street and made the big bucks, but he chose to go back to Chicago and work for people who needed help. One of those two guys is worthy of admiration. Guess which one the GOP thinks that should be.
