I missed the President's speech from Afghanistan, but I saw his arrival, in the dark there, and it made me think of Obama hugging his daughters goodbye, knowing he was going to a country at war. Not to equate Obama's trip with the tours the soldiers are enduring, but I still thought it was a reminder of Obama's commitment to his job and the sacrifices his family has made that allows him to do it. Romney should remember that, the next time he decides to denigrate the President.

It is beyond sobering, to think that corporate groups routinely use undisclosed, potentially trans-national $Millions -

To tell massive lies in adverts, for the purpose of misleading the public & keep us ignorant of the facts.

Extremely sobering is that such groups are referred to (albeit jokingly by a journalist we like) as "the cavalry".

Looks like the privilege of public free speech and the truth - is now being officially co-opted on very serious subjects like National security.

Amy--I have never been able to understand why those who disagree with President Obama can't at least acknowledge that he loves his country and works hard for us all every day.

Whatever happened to the story about the minerals discovered in Afghanistan? Nobody talks about the "real" reason it's important we keep a presence there.

The previously unknown deposits — including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium — are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, the United States officials believe.

An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the “Saudi Arabia of lithium,” a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and BlackBerrys.

There is no doubt that Obummer will go down in history as one of most insignificant presidencies in American history.

The media and the world along with the star-gazed looney left propped this guy on such a pedestal that he didn't stand a chance. He had no place to go but down come January 2009. You really cannot blame him and his donkey-mouth Mrs.

They just merely cashed in the lottery ticket that the looney libs handed them.

You & I know that Obummer had ABSOLUTELTY no real world experiences before the crowning and it's definitely showing now.

Hang in there Mr. President. I feel for ya.

Tell ya what, come January '13 cruise on over to the snowy north that we call Minn-E-Sooooda and I'll teach ya's to play hockey. We'll grab a pickup game in da hood. As a "Community Organizer" in your resume, I'm sure it'll be a snap for us.

It's not like you'll have anything on your schedule then anyway....lol

Afghanistan is such a difficult situation for both Obama and the Republican/Romney group. They all understand that we can't just leave and yet all of the groups understand our country is just damn tired of war, this war in particular.

I approve of how Obama chose to handle the messaging on Afghanistan. Since McCain and company have been pushing for this ship to be launched they can hardly advise Romney to try and scuttle it......yet.

But I'm sure Romney's group is hard at work trying to figure out how they can still criticize Obama, while not stepping on the Republicans' toes who have been partners in this particular dance.

Ah,politics and the election season - gotta' love it.

Hmmmm Now that Obama wasted the tax payers money flying to Afganistan for a free election ad maybe he can come home and start packing so we can get a better leader in the White House in 2012....

Sorry I meant free for the DNC. Obama gets enough coddling from the liberal media as it is. We should bill NBC for the cost to fly Air Force One over there....
