Romney and Bloomberg meet in New York

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg met Tuesday morning with Mitt Romney in the Manhattan offices of the mayor's foundation.

NBC News confirmed news that the independent mayor met with Romney, who's spending a busy day in the city. A source in the mayor's office said that Bloomberg advocated for his usual agenda of gun control, budget reform, education, the economy and the manner in which the federal government treats cities.

A source described the meeting between the two as "friendly," though it yielded no endorsement. It's unclear whether he'll do so at all this year, and Bloomberg maintains ties to the Obama administration; he golfed last Friday with Vice President Biden.

The stop with Bloomberg was part of a busy morning for Romney in New York City. His schedule included a CBS interview this morning, his Bloomberg meeting, attending a memorial for the late journalist Mike Wallace, and a meeting soon with former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani (who recently endorsed Romney).

UPDATE, 1:07 p.m.: Romney's day will continue in Philadelphia, where he'll host a fundraiser.

I liked how Mike Wallace used to say "reeealy?" to the crooks he was interviewing.

Amy---I used to wonder why anyone would sit down with Wallace---you knew the "gotcha" was coming even before the crooks did.

Perhaps why Romney only meets with hard-hitting reporters after they've passed away?

A source in the mayor's office said that Bloomberg advocated for his usual agenda of gun control, budget reform, education, the economy and the manner in which the federal government treats cities.

Did Flip Romney sit there nodding his head, scratching his arm, mumbling "uh-um," rubbing his ear like he did with Republican constituents in PA who brought up similar concerns?

What did Mayor Rudy Giuliani (who recently endorsed Romney) do to help the firefighter's prior to and after 9-11? I think Rob-ney stands a better chance courting Giuliani than Bloomberg since they are both the same; LIARS.

I hope Bloomberg stays on the side of the President.

What did Mayor Rudy Giuliani (who recently endorsed Romney) do to help the firefighter's prior to and after 9-11?

Had Guiliani been more concerned about the safety of the firefighters prior to 9/11, maybe we would not have lost so many when the buildings collapsed.

NY Police Department came up with a detailed analysis in 1998 opposing plans by the city to locate its emergency command center at the WTC. Guiliani overrode those objections. But after 9/11, Guliani milked the "hero" label like he saved the NY City. He is another example of someone who chose not to listen (for whatever reason) to those with an actual intelligence.

Maybe Mitt can share a noun and a verb with Rudy.

Oh Rombot, neither rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night, or factual reality, or a hope in hell will keep you from shambling through the motions of a flailing failure. You're the guy who came in second place to the guy who came in second place last time, but bravely soldier on. Meeting with people who don't even come close to sharing your views is priceless.

On November 7 you can just ride your car elevator up and down, up and down, wondering why you tilted at a windmill that turned out to be a meat grinder.

On this anniversary of the killing of Osama, Romney traveled to New York City to explain how he did it. He will appear with Rudy Giuliani for a private meeting on campaign strategy. This evening the two-to-six men will be joined by John Boehner for a "moving ceremony", where Giuliani will give his long anticipated 2004 Florida primary victory speech while Boehner sobs softly in the background.

The Romney campaign responded to an unknown source from the Obama campaign, who is reported to have said, "Romney has as much to do with 9/11 as he has to do with 7-Eleven". The campaign points out that Romney actually worked for the Southland Corporation (t/a 7-Eleven) where he invented the Slurpee. Asked about Romney's position there, campaign sources first asked, "Which one?" then quickly added that Romney was working as Guest Cookie Chef.
