NBC's Domenico Montanaro recaps this past week's political news including President Obama's college tour, another potential VP pick for Mitt Romney, and Newt Gingrich's campaign suspension.
The liberal media is struggling to cover up for Obama's poor leadership since 2008. It's unlikley the public will be fooled into giving this guy another 4 years....
Fiesty, have you read the Washington Post story on Illinois running out of time and money? Give it a good read as it may provide some economic insight to the policies being proposed by our President today. This may give you some reasons as to why many of us centrists who dislike much of the GOP social issue platform are so against the fiscal policies of the democratic party.
It's been quite a week, too. Boehner has been throwing hissy fits on the House floor as well as in front of the press. How disingenuous that President Obama's travel schedule is some horrible assault on the taxpayer while President Bush's equally numerous trips were necessary. Boehner was in rare form today yelling about the War on Women because his Nancy Pelosi challenged the House plans to pay for the student loan interest rates by taking the money out of what he calls, "the health care slush fund"--you know, the money that helps poor women, the disabled, children. I was waiting for Speaker Boehner to cry, "hell, no, you can't" any minute and burst into tears.
You liberals can't win if your whole agenda is to blame Bush and manufacture some bogus "War" on women, elderly, poor, gays, Hispanics blah blah blah. Your real challenge is convincing the 90% of Americans who are working and paying their mortgages on time that they should also be paying for all these Obama "perceived" victims.......
They talk, constantly, of war, yet say nothing when their Ido wages war- on the Constitution.
I remember a summer when I was young- every single night the dinner conversation was about the Watergate hearings. My mom would dutifully fill my father in on that day's proceedings, and the discussion went on until bedtime. One of my clearest memories was my father's reaction to Nixon's "enemies list".
He saw the break-in and wiretapping as politics as usual- although, lord knows, he was no Nixon supporter. Still, he believed it was something done by both parties.
He was not aghast at the "slush fund", either. Again, he believed both parties had them.
The enemies list was another story entirely. It abrogated the very fabric of this nation- anyone could safely criticize any politician, with no fear of reprisal.
Well, I've told you before that my father, for the very first time in his life, is planning to vote for a republican. This will only strengthen that conviction.
I guess Boehner will want to charge the President and First lady for the gas money used to drive to the event. My question? When do WE get back the two yrs worth of wasted salaries we paid to his disfunctional DO NOTHING congress? After all. Isn't the Teapublican montra "Hard Work is rewarded?" I feel like we've shelled out two yrs of..."Welfare" to these slack asses. On top of providing them with Platinum rated healthcare. America demands our money back Boehner! :-)
Cute baby picture Hagran!!!! By the way all this stuff about Michelle and the President and there traveling issues is just something that Republicans have to say!!! They don't really care or as we say in my hood they're just fronting!!!
Yowzaaa!
You guys cutting out early to get all buffed & polished for the WH correspondence dinner tomorrow night?
Have fun - it is sure to be a good time!

Well UAW, I don't think Obama scored well this week, but the SG hasn't been doing well at SCOTUS.
Two visits, no probable wins, two probable losses and several errors.
Let's hope they keep the guy in place for the balance of the Obama term.
UAW, Obama has been leading since 2009, he was only a candidate in 2008.
I kinda like his leadership.
Wine, what's "SG"

Given Corzine, Katzenberg, and LaBoon, where, exactly, does Obama get off doing this?
And how on earth can anyone not a cult member support it?
No Jo-----War on the Constitution? Then you go to a story about Nixon. Yeah, Obama=Nixon, right.
UAW------Vaginal probe=war on women. Not too debatable. Not bogus, and I'm a man.
