Obama to college students: I feel your pain

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Kicking off a two-day, swing-state tour focused on keeping student-loan rates from increasing, President Obama told an arena full of college students that he can relate to their struggles paying off loans because he has had his own tuition woes.

“I just want everybody to understand: I didn’t just read about this,” Obama said as the audience at the University of North Carolina crescendo from gradual applause to a full cheer. “I didn’t just get some talking points about this."

He continued, referring to himself and wife Michelle, “We didn’t come from wealthy families. We paid more in student loans than we paid on the mortgage when we finally did buy a condo.”

He noted the length it took for him to pay off his student loans, even though he now holds the nation’s highest office.

“We finished paying our student loans. And check this out -- I’m the President of the Untied States -- we only finished paying off our student loans about eight years ago.”

Obama criticized Republicans, who he said pay “lip service” to the concepts of student aid, a day after presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney said he “fully support[s] the effort to extend the low interest rate on student loans.”

“You’ll hear people say, yeah, education, it’s important,” he said. “That requires not just words but deeds.”

Romney spokesman Ryan Williams, who attended the event at UNC, responded to those remarks saying, “Governor Romney has made his position on this issue clear. He feels that we need to help college students during these tough economic times when they’re unable to find a job under this president.”

The House Republican budget, trumpeted by Wisconsin Republican Congressman Paul Ryan, would not increase funding for Pell Grants, and keep funding for them at current levels for the 10 years of the budget, Politifact notes. Romney has embraced the Ryan budget, saying the two are "on the same page."

The president was speaking to students and recent graduates here ostensibly to gin up awareness that student loans will double on July 1, from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent, unless Congress votes to extend the College Cost Reduction and Access Act, signed into law in September 2007.

As his administration has done frequently when it wants to generate buzz over a certain policy initiative, the president urged his audience to get involved through -- in addition to phone calls and email -- social media and in particular, Twitter.

“Call your member of Congress,” Obama urged. “Email them, write on their Facebook page, Tweet them… we have a hashtag.”

He introduced the hashtag as #dontdoublemyrate, and seemed to feed off the enthusiasm of the rally-like atmosphere by telling the audience to repeat the phrase after him.

“Everybody say it so you can remember it!” he urged.

It would of been nice if MSNBC ran the ENTIRE speech instead of Andrea Mitchell cutting it off.

Her interview with SOS Albright was taped anyway, why couldn't it have waited until tomorrow..?

Can't show America the 'youth vote' is fired up & ready to go now can we?

It goes against the MSN trying to portray Willard as having a fighting chance! lol

"Amen"

I completely fail to see how any Republican got elected in the first place with their just say no attitude.

The only thing they're for is whatever is the opposite of the President. The sky is blue, just get over it finally. Start believfing in something instead of believing against everything.

That report seems to link two separate ideas made by the President.

President Obama's comment "I didn't just read about this" was made in reference to a quote by Virginia Foxx:

"I have very little tolerance for people who tell me that they graduate with $200,000 of debt or even $80,000 of debt because there’s no reason for that."

The President read out part of this quote, made by the out-of-touch Virginia Fox (R-NC).

Whaaaa; Whaaaa; Whaaaa. Typical Obama reaction to something.

The bill was sponsored by 31 democrats in 2007. The democrats controlled both houses of congress at the time.

It is obvious that the democrats once again put forth a bill that isn't working for America.

When they authored it with complete control of congress, why did they do so at the peril of students in the future? They wrote the bill and now it is set to go where they designed to be. Now the president is once again whining like a small child that it is the fault of the republicans if they don't extend the bill at it's lowest cost factor. The true fact is that the democrats should never have included a provision that would have allowed dramatic increases, but they did.

This is typical of democrats doing something that comes back to bite us in the a*s and trying to make the republicans look like the bad guys. The only thing I don't understand is why the republican party isn't standing forefront and screaming about this. They should be telling every college student that it is the democrats who have done this to them and let them see how the democrats act in typical fashion.

Bob-1136191- As I've indicated over and over, I'm seeking sanity in the GOP but none to be found. I have not changed my posts and I have never referred to drooling. But, I don't expect anything other than lies from you Bob. As I've said from the beginning - Senators do miss votes. I have no idea why he missed those so I can't comment on his reasons. But, he is stepping up to the plate as he has for so many and that's a good thing. I'm not glossing over anything and, again, no drooling. What a pathetic group that has to grasp at one word - attractive - and blow it totally out of proportion. But, I expect no better from the likes of you. You really are jealous and hypocrites at the same time. Now, go back to playing with your toys and hopefully someday you'll actually grow up.

In Palm Springs Ca -- Agreed. But what an amazing response Raul Ryan made to the Catholic bishops about his horrendous plan. Ryan did this before when questioned about why he wants to increase defense spending beyond what the Pentagon asked for. Paul Ryan basically called the generals liars. To the right-wingers in here, do you not see the disconnect with this crap?

RE: The USCCB and the Paul Ryan plan:

"USCCB has been a leading advocate for debt relief in Third World countries because the bishops believe debt has to be relieved in a way to help the poor, not simply to placate bankers and rich people.

So Republicans seemed a little taken aback, when, in the midst of the USCCB's showdown with the Obama administration (and women, including nuns), the group took aim at the GOP for backing draconian cuts to government programs for the poor. The source of the controversy dates back to a an interview House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) gave to the Christian Broadcasting Network earlier this month, in which he suggested that his Catholic faith had inspired him to draft a budget that takes an axe to social welfare programs:

Through our civic organizations, through our churches, through our charities, through all of our different groups where we interact with people as a community, that's how we advance the common good, by not having Big Government crowd out civic society, but by having enough space in our communities so that we can interact with each other, and take care of people who are down and out in our communities

Those principles are very, very important, and the preferential option for the poor, which is one of the primary tenants of Catholic social teaching, means don't keep people poor, don't make people dependent on government so that they stay stuck at their station in life, help people get out of poverty, out into a life of independence.

In response to these comments, as well the broader Ryan budget, the bishops have sent a series of letters to House GOP leaders criticizing the plan for the dire impact it would have on the poor and disadvantaged. Contrary to Ryan's insistence that the budget is in keeping with Catholic tenets, the bishops insist that many of the budget choices are actually immoral."

When will the GOP/TP stop with the chickens for health care, or churches providing Social Security via bake sales BS?!!!

-----

And, in regard to this article, WHY would anyone think it's okay for the government to provide money to banks at zero interest, yet it's okay for banks to increase the interest on student loans to an outrageous percent? For Pete's sake, the banks are making plenty of money on those loans right now!

That feisty red head is most likely one of those GSA people that are parasites on the American tax payer. She is just protecting Obama because he is the source of the waste/pork that government maggots live on. For you ragging on Ryan's budget, just were is Obama's budget? The senate has not passed a budget in 3 years. Some leadership that cannot ever get a budget passed through the Democrat controlled senate because even the Democrats vote against it. Anyone that will vote for Obama after he has added 5 trillion to the debt in 3 years is so radical partisan logic that their cognitive powers are flawed.

Behind Obama’s Definition of Wealth and Paying Off Student Loans

      http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/04/behind-obamas-definition-of-wealth-and-paying-off-student-loans-2/

      source: ABC NEWS

President Obama told students at the University of North Carolina Tuesday that he knows what it is like to struggle with student loan debt because he and his wife didn’t pay off their student loans until eight years ago.

That may be true, but a quick look at the Obamas’ tax returns shows they were making enough to be considered “wealthy” by the president’s own definition in the years before his loans were paid off.

        #1.43 - Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:25 AM EDT

The student loan stuff that's the focal point of Obama's speeches that he's making to youth wherever he goes is legislation the Democrats wrote but he won't tell you that! He talked about it a lot yesterday. The interest rate increase is coming up for a vote on July 1st because the Democrat-controlled Congress in 2007 wanted it that way. Obama is running around scaring these students who don't know the facts or the truth behind this, that if something isn't done by the Congress, by July 1st, their student loan interest rate will double.
The Democrats controlled both houses of Congress in 2007. They had just won the election. The House, they took it back in 2006. Pelosi's running the House; Democrats are running the Senate. So 2007 they passed legislation that would cut the student loan interest rate in half and then reinstituted it July 1st this year, on purpose. They wanted the college student loan interest rate to double in an election year, in the summer right before the conventions. They were rolling the dice.
So that it would appear to be doubling to students this year, the Democrats did all of this. They did it to have a campaign issue in case they needed it in 2012. July 1st. So five years ago they planned this. Obama was a Senator in 2007, and he didn't even vote on this bill. Twice! There were two votes on raising the college loan interest rate back to what it will be -- doubling it, in effect -- on July 1st, 2012. He didn't even vote "present." He was too busy campaigning. That's how vitally important the issue of student loan interest rates was to him back then.

          #1.44 - Thu Apr 26, 2012 8:00 AM EDT

Obama doesn't tell college students that because of him, they will be paying for his debt for years to come. Also, the "Bush/obama" tax cuts expire at the end of the year so your taxes are going up. Has the economy gotten any better?

At the Romney rally I attended in Portland a few months ago, a woman specifically asked Romney about student loan debt, and he said the answer was to not go to college unless you could pay cash. No kidding. He said student loans pushed the price of tuition up and the only way to get it down was for fewer people to borrow money to pay for collge.

Amy--the only principal Mitt doesn't seem to flip on is the "market". He wants the market to force colleges to lower tuition (by having less demand I suppose). He wants the housing market to hit bottom with more foreclosures to turn real estate into rental properties. He of course wanted Detroit to go bankrupt. In fact, unless you're Wall Street, Mitt is very happy letting the market chew you up and spit you out.

Romney may now say he is for helping out students, but he is following Ryan's budget - so that will be a promise that will disappear.

Always look to what the party they represent are actually doing - and in the case of the Republicans - if you don't come from money to pay cash for college - no college for you!

            job1 -- gotta disagree.

Candidate Obama made these and many more promises which he has not kept. Now I imagine you may come back with excuses as to why but the bottom line is he said he would do this and he has not:

Increase the capital gains and dividends taxes for higher-income taxpayers

Expand the child and dependent care credit

End income tax for seniors making less than $50,000

            End no-bid contracts above $25,000

Repeal the Bush tax cuts for higher incomes

Phase out exemptions and deductions for higher earners

Forbid companies in bankruptcy from giving executives bonuses

Provide the CDC $50 million in new funding to determine the most effective approaches for cancer patient care

Require employers to provide seven paid sick days per year

Close the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center

Develop an alternative to President Bush's Military Commissions Act on handling detainees

Allow five days of public comment before signing bills

Tougher rules against revolving door for lobbyists and former officials

The Great Pivot is under way.

After sternly telling a high school senior during the primary that he shouldn't expect government help with student debt, Mitt Romney informed reporters on Monday that he sides with President Obama on a key aspect of the issue.

During the primary, Romney took a harder line against government help with student loans. In March, a high school senior from Ohio asked Romney at a town hall meeting what he would do to help students pay for college. Romney replied: "It would be popular for me to stand up and say, 'I'm going to give you government money to pay for your college,' but I'm not going to promise that. … Don't expect the government to forgive the debt that you take on."

Katheryn Brandy -- Agreed, it is the actions and not the flip-flop words folks need to keep in mind. Romney's support of the Paul Ryan plan to cut education including PELL grants, etc. shows what his true positions are.

Right on, the freebie ride is over. Must be shocking to have someone tell the truth. Why would the government forgive a debt you owe? This is why Liberals are not to bright. Who do you think would pay for that "forgiven debt"? The debt fairy? I know it won't be you, you proved you don't work being on here up to 18 hours a day. It's cool getting free stuff. But for being an Accountant that you claimed to be I see why you don't work, you're not good at it since you don't know the difference between capital gains and federal taxes.

Corporate welfare and more tax breaks for the rich are so much better (riiiight). This is about lower interest rates, not "free" money. You said the same crap about birth control with no co-pay, though hardly "free" after premiums and deductibles are paid.

There's a post about Virginia and the retired military folks who get nice pensions and discounts at the military store. along with their second incomes from jobs in the defense industry. Where is your outrage about this?

Yeah Red, all 9000 of them in the field house. The last Obama event speech during the 08 campaign, over 28000 were in the audience. Let's see, that's about a 2/3 drop in students.

Could it be they are concerned about the lack of jobs attributed to his administration? Not buying into the same theme from the last election?

And good ole Sandra tweeted the same message on her account that was word-for-word from the Obama speech to the students. Hmmmmmm, a DNC or WH shill?

Obama captured the student loan program for the government, now he is demanding congress lower the loan rates prior to July. Couldn't get it right the first time?

Ya boy, the president is the best thing to come along for the RNC. Keep speaking Barry.

The fact is, during the first Obama visit, over 28K showed, this time only 9K, a drop of 66% from speech one.

We'll see what Feisty's Mittens will offer when we hear the debates. Until then, I hope Obama continues to udder, udder, udder. He does talk a good game, but can't seem to produce for the nation.

            Sanity,

Obama won't have a second term. He's crapped on so many different groups, promising them one thing or another, without producing anything.

He took over the student loan program, now is blaming Congress for the high rate of return. It's his program to account for.

Under this guy the annual growth rate has been 1.7% for the last two years. I guess this poor growth will be blamed on Bush, or the Republicans for not supporting his strange economic program.

Exams start next week. Okay, how does that relate to seeing and hearning a president? Are you saying the lack of turn out was due to the fact that students need to obtain a good grade to compete in this poor economy, and that's the reason for the 66% drop?

You have no knowledge if more would have turned out for Feisty's Mittens - just a little liberal mis-statement.

It amazes me how the liberal will spin the failures of a poor president.

winemaker - s usual your posts make no sense. Your whining is just all the GOP has to do. His programs being blocked by the GOP is a very real reason the economy is recovering as slowly as its is.

And, I do hate to tell you but when students are cramming for exams they tend to miss a lot of things they wouldn't under normal circumstances.

You are totally ignorant of facts and common sense. It amazes me the lengths the do nothing Republicans will go to in order to bad mouth a very good President.

Again, he'll do better during his 2nd term and you can continue to belittle him because it makes you feel like a big man.

            Sanity,

I'm sorry you have difficulty comprehending facts, but then if you believe so strongly in the Obama failures, then you will not agree with dissenting comments and facts.

No, the GOP has hot filibustered his policies, he just doesn't have any programs that do nothing other than spend money on companies or policies that lose taxpayer dollars. For the amount of money used on the various stimulus programs, green energy failures, the return to the taxpayers is failed policies. No jobs, no green energy, failure.

Obama will not be elevated to a second term, but will be ranked right under Jimmy Carter as having the worst record of any administration.

And for your last statement: I don't feel like a big man; I believe I am no different than a number of Americans who will vote against the Great Divider.

do you expect they will vote for obama in-spite of this lack of confidence in the direction he is leading the country?

I added the last part for flair. :)

You to see you to Thetotas, Obama has the better message, the old "take your country back" message of republicans did work the last time, and will not work any better now. Obama and the democrats have a more inclusive message and that always works better in a general election. BTW I am Grumpy but I try my best not to be rude to folks, crude at times, but hopefully not rude.

I question the amount of student Loans for the Obama's as well as how long it took them to pay them off.....Let's see....I am exactly one year older than our President, and I went to college, and I had student Loans, and my student loans have been paid off for over 25 years......And my husband also had student loans, and they have been paid off for over 25 years.....so what took the Obama's so long????? As we are not permitted access to his educational records, I don't see why we would have access to his claim to understand the pain of student loans either. I, and most of my peers have children going through this right now.....no jobs after graduation, but student loans to pay for....Just like it was back in 1979/80 thanks to Mr. Carter....and guess what I still managed to pay my loans off....so I would say Mr. Obama's contention that he understands raises more questions than it answers....Questions which will never be answered.

Can't wait til we hear Mitt tell us how he, too, can feel the pain of student loan interest. It took me many years to pay off mine---what a feeling of accomplishment that was. Yet another area where Mitt can't relate---Ann says that when they were struggling early on they would be forced to sell some stock. The ultimate Republican sin---invading the principal.

Yeah, and after the condo, you got a borderline fraudulent sweetheart deal on a house from a convicted crook named Tony Rezko......

Funny, he left that part out.

Biv I am sorry but I thought the right was saying Obama was handed his education for free, are you going to refute that are you going to admitt he paid for his education. How do you suppose he did that since according to the right he never had a job, come on if you expect to convert anyone here you have to stay on message and stop flip floping its becoming a habit for the right.

And he continues to offer handouts to many subgroups, and hopes that it will buy him votes.....Yes, Virginia, the Presidency is for sale.....just like Obama's senate seat in Illinois.

Talk about brainwashing and common sense, how is giving rich people more wealth going to create jobs? It has not yet, rich people are getting richer so where are all the jobs they should be creating for us? It has not worked in 30 years, so why do some persist in saying it will, well it won't. How does a rich person buying a 300,000 dollar Bentley create more jobs than 10 people buying a 30,000 thousand dollar Chevy. Get my drift? How many millionaires shop in your town, do you have a Rolls Royce dealership or a luxury yacht factory. A good economy and jobs are created by many middle class and lower middle class people with a little money to spend on goods and services, and those are the job creators. It is that simple, you want an economy based on mass production then it demands mass consumption, people need money to be consumers. Rich people don't create jobs, they create a means of making more profit for themselves, when the middle class is sucked dry where will the profit they seek and only employ people as a means to collect come from? Brainwashed is continuing to believe less for you will somehow turn into more for you, it has not in 30 years of this trickle down BS, and it never will. Lowering your wages and increasing your share of the tax burden will only mean less for you. People in the right to work for less and less and less states are not prospering they are now just the working poor, those states have not solved any economic problems or unemployment problems for their citizens, they simply lowered the income for the entire state except the owners, their profit went up, so why is there no glut of jobs in those states. Less for the middle class is simply less, it will never will turn into more of anything, least of all good jobs for your children. Of course they are hiring in Texas, $10.80 cents an hour for full time brain-washers! You can't raise a family or even support yourself on that kind of money but it sure beats paying union dues, right. Yeah well take your brain out rinse, wash, and rinse again, then maybe it will work for y'all.

I'll bet Mitt never had trouble paying for his tuition bills or those of his kids. It must be nice to be born with a silver spoon. Mitt has no clue as he is completely out of touch. At least the President worked his way up and earned his wealth although it's only a fraction of what Mitt inherited from Dad.

SacredFire, here's the REAL story of Mitt Romney's wealth........

"Mitt Romney's success is based on his 25-year career in business and the fact that he founded and led one of the most successful private equity companies in the world," spokesman Ryan Williams said.

That wasn't as helpful as, say, a copy of his father's will.

Nor was there any information about George Romney's financial legacy in the many obituaries for the Michigan luminary, who died in 1995 at age 88.

But Mitt Romney has addressed the question himself, it turns out, in an interview with C-SPAN in 2006. Host Brian Lamb asked him why his father hadn't given him an inheritance.

Romney answered, "Well, he didn’t have as much as I think some people anticipated. And I did get a check from my dad when he passed away. I shouldn’t say a check, but I did inherit some funds from my dad. But I turned and gave that away to charity. In this case I gave it to a school which Brigham Young University established in his honor. ... And that’s where his inheritance ended up."

According to a short history of the George W. Romney Institute of Public Management at BYU, the family provided an endowment in 1998, within a few years of George Romney's death.

So, in Romney's own words, he did "inherit some funds" from his dad. But he gave them away.

                  Why?

"I figured we had enough of our own," he said.

The firm was founded in 1984 by partners from the consulting firm Bain & Company.

Mitt Romney was offered the CEO position of a new company, Bain Capital, by his current boss Bill Bain. Mr. Bain guaranteed Mr. Romney that if the company did not perform well he would get his old job back at Bain & Co. at thesame pay plus any pay increases he would have received.

There was no risk for Mitt Romney {period}.

"At least the President worked his way up and earned his wealth", REALLY?

Since he became a senator, his wife Michelle has brought in something more than a million last year.
At her job at the hospital she was promoted to the board and more than doubled her salary by more than a hundred thousand,
She is on the board of some food company where she earns more than the CEO of Wal-mart even though the company earns about 1/29 of Wal-marts income.
She is also part of another company where she earns more than a hundred twenty nine thousand a year.
In 2007 they posted a joint return of something more than four and a quarter million dollars.
I guess doing favors, brings great rewards.

Where did he get money for tuition?

Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By 'chance' he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named 'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association'. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School?

Where did he get the money for Law School?

More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill &Galland. Guess what? They represented 'Rezar' which Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with 'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans -

Where did he get the money for the property?

On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was 'sacked' after the press found out he was having regular contacts with 'Hamas', which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran.

This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign contribution for Obama.

Where is that money coming from?

The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on 'This Week' with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim faith'. When questioned, 'he make a mistake'. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the enemy from within' !!!

Treating the symptom does not solve the problem: the cost of education. Let's break that down shall we: higher administrative cost due to increased regs (dems), higher pension and salary costs for unionized teachers (dems), more buildings less money for students (dems - unionized construction). I'll tell you what, if you treat the causes for higher costs, then I will vote for relief of the sympton. For God sake people, stop being led to slaughter -- THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!

FYI, private schools have 1/2 the resources and their students score better on exams. What's the difference? Morality and teachers are not unionized...and teachers are allowed to teach!

Every, thing that BHO, Axlerod & DNC along with the willing participation of mainstream media is calculated in a political application format. From what Barack eats for breakfast right down to how he ties his shoes.

I mean everything there is controlled, handled viewed thru/with political machine precision they are not living like real people, more like just acting out a movie script. Hillary Rosen was just the latest actress to play her part in this for public consumption epic presentation of "FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION" The Movie \ sadly it's a Reality show that has dire consequences. However this is being played out in real life so there are variables. but when reality kicks in they have a innumerable team of production assistants and damage control specialists to spin the script the way they need to for the most politically expedient and correct(in their eyes) public relations & manipulation outcome.

All this being a Gross disservice and maniacal wrong perpetrated on firstly the American people and for that matter the entire world. Case in point; fast and furious op. resulting in our own immigration official being killed. (granted the criminals that killed him would have used any weapon available fact remains it was a gun traced to f&f op.) Also countless hundreds or even thousands people in central and south America affected by this. Not much outrage displayed or Legal ramification reported in mainstream media. { keep it quiet} convenient lies!

Another point: trillions in debt, especially wasted money sent to political cronies for failed and still failing propositions (won’t elaborate any more than that you know what I mean.)

Bottom line is America, you/we can continue to just play a part in this fallacy or we can collectively roll the credits on this flick. And move on to a Reality based upon truth, justice and the American exceptionalism that has honestly propelled us thru well over 200 years of prosperity unseen anywhere else in world history.

                  1. I really don’t want to hear your arguments about he said or she said, racism or past bigotry or any other victim status based, down trodden whiner excuses, for behavioral auspices displayed by any one. Remember, “You are where you are because you want to be” this is America 2012 most everyone has the opportunity to be all they can be by the fruits of their labor. Granted some have special needs and those needs should be addressed appropriately and can be, especially when our nation is in prosperity mode, this is the land of plenty after all.
                  2. Where do we go from here? I believe we all deep down care about each other and want what is best. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are stalwarts of our very existence. America has nothing to apologize to any one for our exceptional presence in the world. the world is a better place because of the "shining city on the hill" 1 case in point where would we be now if the United states of America had not engaged in ww2? "ZEIG HIEL mine furer" just saying. we have had our good times and our bad times made mistakes and right-full choices this divisiveness no matter where it emanates is counter productive. There can be a balance and cohesiveness shared among us all were all Americans
                  3. This is one My favorite speeches "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.'… I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the Content of their character. Question is what are the player's in this part of the play doing to promote this Mantra? Better ? Are there people who wish for division to remain the norm, or perhaps even deepen the divide amongst the people of this nation? think about it... pray about it... do with it what you will...

Unfortunately, the Potus LET EVERYONE DOWN. He promised transparency, working across the aisle, balanced budgets, representing the people, and "yes we can; instead, we got a healthcare bill, although well-intended, inherently flawed by assuming the government is the best facility to run it. DO not forget the lack of transparency of the vote (the closed door -dems only, Pelosi shoving down even her own party's throat politics) and the blatant diregard for the will of the people (80% were against it) Let's not forget Pelosi telling everyone to vote for it so that THEY CAN READ IT!

NO...I will not vote for a POTUS that lied about his past, broken every commitment he has made to the public and has made it difficult to spend time on business vs. all of the regulatory @#$%l.
