Romney, McCain try to unite party at RNC meeting

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Mitt Romney looked to lock in support from the Republican establishment Friday with a televised speech and a private meeting here at the Republican National Committee's annual meeting of state party chairmen.

Romney, introduced by the party's 2008 standard bearer Sen. John McCain and by the RNC chairman Reince Priebus, took the microphone to a minute-long standing ovation and appeared to try to close the door on the primary season by thanking his GOP rivals for their contributions to the race -- even those still running against him.

"Each of them campaigned in an aggressive and dynamic way to spread our message of conservatism, and each is going to play a vital role in making sure that we win in November," Romney said, before listing off the names of candidates long-departed (Bachmann, Pawlenty) to those still active in the presidential contest (Gingrich, Paul)

"We have all fought hard and well," Romney said.

The speeches by Romney, McCain and Priebus all shared two similar themes: the Republican Party is uniting around Romney; and by forcing President Barack Obama to run on his record, the incumbent president can be defeated.

"I am so gratified to see our party coming together," McCain said at the top of his remarks.

"My friends, this president, Barack Obama can run but he can't hide from his record," McCain said.

Priebus, the RNC chairman, also accused the president of "running on a parade of shiny objects," adding later "excuses won't pay the mortgage."

For his part, Romney joked about having not won the nomination yet, but sounded his now-regular general election themes in a speech that focused almost exclusively on Obama.

Before the meeting, Romney held a private reception and photo line with state party chairmen, asking them to pledge their support at the convention, where some RNC officials act as "super-delegates," casting ballots for candidates of their own choosing.

Romney's second event in Arizona is expected to focus on Hispanic voters, a growing Arizona voting bloc, leading to increasing confidence among Democrats that the state could be competitive this fall. McCain, the state's senior senator, predicted no such outcome.

"The state of Arizona -- don't worry -- will be for Mitt Romney this November," he said.

What an empty reason to vote for a candidate. Exchanging an inspiring, hardworking, admirable chief executive for an unlikeable, unknowable candidate, just because he belongs to the Republican club, seems like an iffy proposition.

Amy, this is where you miss the point. It is never just the candidate. It is the ideology.

You vote for Obama because he's dreamy. That is your first criteria.

You spent an hour at a Romney stop in Maine (I know because you mention it here a couple of times a week) and think you know every thing there is to know about him.

Tell me Amy, why don't you like Romney and why do you think he is unknowable (whatever that means)

Too funny- or resident coal walker talking about empty reasons to vote for someone.

Too bad the hilarity of it is lost on her.

Oh well, Amy - thanks for ending the week with one of the funniest comments I have seen in a long while.

Exchanging an inspiring, hardworking, admirable chief executive

That's where it all went wrong, Amy. President Obama was supposed to be the inspiring, hardworking, admirable President. But he went from inspiring to victim-hood; hard working - government over jobs, and same old lobbyist influenced, Chicago politician.

He had it all. He could have done so much. Turns out --- he was empty.

Oh, and Amy? To most people, eating dogs is disgusting.

It might interest you to know that dog eating is illegal in Indonesia- its a Muslim country, and dogs are unclean. True, there are a couple of out-of-the-way places- hundreds of miles from where Obama lived- that do eat dogs on special occasions, but Obama's stepfather was not a member of that sect.

Soooo- maybe Obama lied about eating dogs? Maybe Bo is safe?

No joe etc. Typical! any culture other than white Americans' is "disgusting". In the Philippines they eat dog all the time, also the Hawaiians raised dogs for food (before the missionaries destroyed their culture and most of their lives). I think part of your problem is the FEAR that white people are no longer in the majority in America, and are only going to be a smaller and smaller minority as time goes on.

White Collar Worker, I'll explain it to you, because you aren't the usual cheap shot rightwinger, in my opinion, you do try to judge politicians on their substance.

You want to know what is so unlikeable about Romney. It is said of George W. Bush he was born on third base and thought he'd hit a home run. I think Romney has a similar misperception of himself in relation to people outside his circle.

In one of his books, Romney goes on about how low income mothers need to work outside the home, for the sake of their characters, and to be role models for their children. I just find it incredibly arrogant of Romney to sit in moral judgement of other people, especially when he bristles at Rosen's observation that his wife has never worked, because "being a mother is a job!" I don't think he gets the irony of preaching the virtues of paid employment for women he doesn't consider of his class, while sentimentalizing the "choice" his wife made to be a stay at home mom.

Don't get me wrong, all the young people in my family are happily married and raising their children in stable homes, and I subscribe to those values, however, I know young women who have been left with young children by irresponsible men, and I know they struggle to find childcare so they can work. Just today, a single mother was telling me how she had to call in sick because her girls had head lice and weren't allowed to go to school. That young woman had to answer to our boss, for taking off time to tend to her children. I don't say this to sentimentalize single, working mothers, because, that's life, but I believe these women deserve respect and support, because they are raising the next generation. I don't think Romney respects people who don't live exactly as he does. And the irony is, there may be more creativity, more orginality, bubbling up from the lives of these unconventional women, then in the country club perfection of upperclass motherhood.

I digress.

At the rally where I saw Romney speak, he talked at length about shrinking government and cutting taxes. Then he launched into plans to increase the size of our army and defense spending so we could have MORE tanks, ships, aircraft, soldiers and weaponry. Of course, we make Navy ships in Maine, so that could be just him pandering, but I wanted to ask him: where is that money coming from? First he talks about our debt, which means seniors must pay more towards their healthcare, then money is no object, when it comes to increasing our military. That to me is intellectually dishonest.

I know Republicans like to put anyone who has made a lot of money on a pedestal, but, in my experience, wealthy people often come from wealthy families, and have benefitted from first rate educations and being socially connected. Of course, I've known plenty of self made successful businesspeople, and they are a special breed, but not necessarily the type of people you want in the White House. Romney isn't one of those self made people, however, so you needn't worry about that. Romney SR may have been a self made success, but Romney certainly isn't.

In my opinion, Barack Obama has just the gifts we need in that job, and its pretty amazing we found him. You like to ridicule me for finding Obama "dreamy," but women have experience at judging men, and you really should take Obama's positive ratings with women seriously. We see his ability to deploy diplomacy, to bridge differences, to care about the community as a whole, and not just increasing the fortunes of the 1% ( how did those people manage to get richer during the recession? And, no, it's not because they "deserve" those outrageous bonuses, while their companies got taxpayer bailouts.) Women look at Obama and think, he fights for us. We look at Romney and think, whatever he's fighting for, it's not me, not my neighbor's children, not for peace, but just the prosperity of those he deems as living "correctly." i.e., his own kind, whatever that is.

Right, Amy. Those Solyndra executives truly deserve the bonuses they're getting- from the taxpayers, no less.

I'm truly sorry that there are young women who choose their children's fathers so badly- but, consider this:

My parents are in their 70s. My father, a union worker his entire life after the Navy, has such a pitiful pension- despite paying union dues that "guaranteed" him a decent pension, gets so little he has gone back to work. Yup- complete with the health problems usually associated with aging.

My brothers and I have finally prevailed upon them to move closer to us- so WE are buying a home for them. Dad just found a job- that's right, in this economy- but what truly bothers him?

He's,paying into Social Security-at 76. He's also paying taxes that keep young women who choose their childrens' fathers badly housed, clothed, fed, and medically treated.

Oh, and trust me, they're not "the 1%".

So why is it that they are forced to pay for the poor choices of others? Why are you so free with their money? How do you overlook the waste, fraud, and abuse of this administration? Billions given to their big dollar donors? Fast and Furious, which cost the life of a border agent? The GSA scandal? The lack of respect for our allies- and complete incompetence in dealing with antagonistic nations?

Oh, yeah, I get it- he's dreamy.

Even with dog breath, it seems.

So why is it that they are forced to pay for the poor choices of others?

We all pay for things that we don't nessicarily want to pay for as tax paying citizens. That's just how it is. I don't want to pay for the next generation of killing machines from Boeing and Lockhead. I don't want to pay for the road to your house. I don't want to pay for oil companies that are making billions in profit to scout out new sources of oil etc.

As a humanitarian, I do want to help those less fortunate. Especially the children. Using your own argument, why should the children suffer for a parent's bad decisions? They didn't ask to be brought into this world.

No Jo, my mom worked into her seventies because she loved her job and my Dad created a business during his retirement because he had an active mind and an energetic personality. He had a modest pension too, and the extra income helped.

In my town there are many homeless people who panhandle on the streets. Most of them are alcoholics, drug users, or mentally ill. What a horrible way to live. Most of them don't live past 50, I am told. As Jesus said, the poor will always be with us.

Nothing makes Republicans angrier than contemplating someone somewhere getting benefits like foodstamps, when they are not trying hard enough to support themselves. It's funny, because the only people I personally know who get foodstamps also vote Republican. I know it's tempting to stay on foodstamps, rather than find more work, but I don't think people who do that have wonderful lives. Why would I feel resentment towards people I wouldn't want to change places with? Fraud and waste are a bad thing, but you know, the Obama administration has prosecuted more Medicaid fraud in three years than Bush did in eight. They are very aggresive about going after these criminals. Do you really think, just by electing a Republican President, you would stop all fraud and misuse of government money? Don't you remember the millions lost in Iraq under Bush? The scandal in the oil regulatory department?

................................ REAL NEWS TODAY................................................

When it came time for representatives of the four presidential candidates — former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is still campaigning, though his support at the Colorado convention appeared to be minimal — to address the crowd of some 5,000 delegates, alternates, candidates and activists, the arena shook with cheers and applause each time Paul’s name was mentioned. In a familiar antic, Paul supporters shouted out their candidate’s name at nearly every opportunity, including shouting over speakers when the occasion arose. Instead of the musical taunt “Hey, hey, goodbye,” for instance, Paul’s fans instead turned the chant to, “Hey, hey, Ron Paul!”

"We have all fought hard and well," Romney said.

Yeah, no. The GOP/TP primary has been a circus with lots of clowns. Throwing money at the problem and winning by default is not fighting the good fight.

"I am so gratified to see our party coming together," McCain said at the top of his remarks.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Priebus, the RNC chairman, also accused the president of "running on a parade of shiny objects," adding later "excuses won't pay the mortgage."

And eating the seed corn needed to invest in this country definitely won't pay the mortgage now or in the future. And speaking of running on distractions, Romney then "sounded his now-regular general election themes in a speech that focused almost exclusively on Obama" rather than proudly promoting the "marvelous" new plans he has to turn-around the economy.

Gee -- guess who's arranging all the financial backing for Romney: Karl Rove

Remember how well that worked out last time? How'd that work out for us...huh?

Dumbya and Karl and the GOP brought this country to its knees in one of the worst recessions any of us has seen in our lifetime. They took the better part of a decade to destroy our economy, destroy the housing market, destroy banking... And it takes twice as long to rebuild than it does to destroy.

That the GOP is trying to make hay out of the fact that Obama couldn't rebuild the GOP's colossal disaster in half the time it took the GOP to make it -- -is a JOKE. Nobody could have followed Dumbya Bush and reversed his calamitous, disastrous effects in simply one term.

Get real, you a-clowns!

DMORGAN, Please share your incredible economic insight with us all...how did bush put us in the economic state that we are in now? I don't see how the two war excuse that democrats use has anything to do with our economic well being today, unless it stripped people of their welfare checks...but should they not be working to contribute to the nation anyways? As for the real reason for the collapse, it was a joint screw up on behalf of our government. The deregulation presented by both Democrats and Republicans in the banking industry is to blame, causing an unprecedented drop in housing. As for jobs going over seas, you can thank our impressive corporate income tax for that one. Last month we became #1 in the world when it comes to corporate income tax! No wonder no one is producing anything here, it costs too much. Now as it goes for Bush, he has been placed the blame by the Obama administration for so many things, that really he is not responsible for, and robbed of so many things that he is responsible for. Obama does not mind taking credit for ending the war in Iraq, but the thing that the media does not tout is that this is all part of the original date set by Bush's Administration. He takes credit for killing Osama Bin Laden, but the entire operation and the names of the Currier were on the desk of Condi Rice where the operation started...Oh, and the soldiers in Seal Team Six are the ones that deserve the credit for this, not Obama!!! He bailed out the auto industry...not really, this fund and project was already in place, but just was not implemented by the Bush administration before he left office. Obama says that the US is producing oil at an all time high...but he won't tell you that it is all being done privately, and government permits are lower than that of the Bush Administration. Again, please explain you economic wisdom with us all on what I'm missing here.....

Amy and others, great posts. I see Spanky has crawled back out from under her rock to join no joe - who we all know is desperate for attention. Two peas in a pod.

President Obama offers so much more than Romney and all the parading around with McCain won't help Romney. In fact, it will probably hurt him. I recall McCain didn't' do so well in 2008. And, since he wants troops on the ground in Syria, I'm not sure he will bring much to the Romney campaign.

Mark L - you are delusional. Condi Rice had nothing on her desk at any time about the operation that went in and killed Osama bin Laden. If you'll recall, which you don't seem to be able to do, Bush and Cheney dismissed capturing or killing bin Laden as unimportant. Obama made the right decisions and gave the order to get bin Laden. He also made the right decisions about GM. Your stupidity about the oil production is beyond belief. Get a clue and an education. Your lack of intelligence is showing.

http://consumerist.com/2008/12/bush-approves-auto-industry-bailout.html

Identity of his courier

Identification of al-Qaeda couriers was an early priority for interrogators at CIA black sites and Guantanamo Bay detention camp, because bin Laden was believed to communicate through such couriers while concealing his whereabouts from al-Qaeda foot soldiers and top commanders.[16] Bin Laden was known not to use phones, as the U.S. launched missile strikes against his bases in Afghanistan and Sudan in 1998 (Operation Infinite Reach) after tracking an associate's satellite phone.[17]

By 2002, interrogators had heard uncorroborated claims about an al-Qaeda courier with the nom de guerre Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti (sometimes referred to as Sheikh Abu Ahmed from Kuwait).[16] In 2003, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged operational chief of al-Qaeda, revealed under interrogation that he was acquainted with al-Kuwaiti but that he was not active in al-Qaeda.[18]

In 2004, a prisoner named Hassan Ghul told interrogators that al-Kuwaiti was close to bin Laden as well as Khalid Sheik Mohammed and Mohammed's successor Abu Faraj al-Libi. Ghul further revealed that al-Kuwaiti had not been seen in some time, which led U.S. officials to suspect he was traveling with bin Laden. When confronted with Ghul's account, Khalid Sheik Mohammed maintained his original story.[18] Abu Faraj al-Libi was captured in 2005 and transferred to Guantánamo in September 2006.[19] He told CIA interrogators that bin Laden's courier was a man named Maulawi Abd al-Khaliq Jan and denied knowing al-Kuwaiti. Because both Mohammed and al-Libi had minimized al-Kuwaiti's importance, officials speculated that he was part of bin Laden's inner circle.[18]

In 2007, officials learned al-Kuwaiti's real name,[20] though they will not disclose the name nor how they learned it.[18] Since the name Maulawi Abd al-Khaliq Jan appears in the JTF-GTMO detainee assessment for Abu Faraj al-Libi released by WikiLeakson April 24, 2011,[21] there was speculation that the U.S. assault on the Abbottabad compound was expedited as a precaution.[22] The CIA never found anyone named Maulawi Jan and concluded that the name was an invention of al-Libi.[18]

Oil Production U.S.

All of those permits that he is taking credit for were issued by the Bush Administration. Under Obama permits have been only on a decline!

OK, Rice had nothing to do with it...I rather base my opinion on what I read VS what I make up...

VERJEE: Why couldn't the Bush administration capture or kill Osama bin Laden after a nearly eight-year hunt?

RICE: These things take time and the policies that the - President Bush put in place, including the rounding up like people like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and al-Libi and others, the cooperation that our intelligence forces and our military were able to show extraordinary integration. These are all policies that have been in place now for a number of years. But Osama bin Laden was determined not to be found.

I remember when we learned of the courier and that there might be a link to him through this courier. It then took painstaking efforts to put together all the pieces, to further identify them, to find a time when you could do this, to plan the operation. But this shows that across presidencies, the United States is able to use its long reach to take down those who would harm us.

VERJEE: There are so many questions today about whether or not the U.S. can trust Pakistan in fighting terrorism. If you could speak to President Zardari today, what would you say?

RICE: Well, Pakistan is an important partner in counterterrorism corporation and we've had very important cooperation from them. We caught Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, for instance, in Pakistan, and they were helpful. But, as I said, this is not just what the United States needs to know, it's what Pakistan needs to know. And President Zardari and his team need to understand better how Osama bin Laden could hide in plain sight in that kind of compound without the knowledge of high-ranking officials. It's an important question for Pakistan.

But I guess your security clearance trumps that of Rice...

SeekingSanity -- McCain is palling around with Romney for one reason -- Warmongering. McCain never met a war he didn't like. But the warmongering foreign policies of the GOP/TP are only one area in which the far-right has pulled the Republican party so far to the Right they've gone of the cliff.

The Teabaggers have pulled the GOP to the far-right with "starve the beast" economic policies. Then this was quickly usurped by the Paul Ryan/Romney plutocrats with "eating the seed corn" plans of zero investment in education, research, energy, infrastructure, and the working poor/middle class -- in order to give the rich even more tax breaks and spend more on defense! It's mind-bending that the Teabaggers aren't at least outraged at the Ryan plan's failure to reduce deficits.

Add to that the "moral minority" usurping the Tea Party with extreme social engineering in off-shoot organizations with "Tea Party" in the name of their organizations (e.g. the Peach Tea PAC) and focus on religious wedge issues. How does anyone know who's really what anymore?!

At least the progressive movement does not pull the Democratic Party off the cliff. Bleeding-heart liberals don't threaten to "primary" candidates from the left, or force Dems to sign pledges to entities other than their constituents. The progressive caucus doesn't hold the nation hostage over the debt ceiling resulting in a down-grade of our credit rating. And atheists aren't using tools like A.L.E.C. to spread their beliefs like a cancer.

In fact, what the Dems have to be very careful of is NOT being pulled too far to the Right by the insidious machinations of the radical conservatives in this nation. The conservative "strategery" of moving the goal post every chance and in every way they can results in Tyranny of the Minority and is destroying our democratic constitutional process.

The biggest mistake voters can make is to put a plutocrat like Romney in the White House and reelect Teapublican oligarchs to congress. Aside from certain gridlock and polarization this would cause, Lord save our country from judicial appointments that would be made by Romney & Bork!

The republican party is not united. Nor will it be any time soon. You do not display this degree of dysfunction and expect there to be unity. Laughable really. First you have to have a leader you can trust. Second you need one that is honorable. Republicans have neither. Please remember everyone...WE wanted, and voted for, hope and change. The republicans have pissed on it from DAY ONE!

Hey, No Joe, Obama was only a 6 or 7 year old child at the time. Can't exactly be held responsible for his actions. Romney was an adult when he strapped the family dog to the top of the car for a 12 hour trip.

TO: Candice- who wrote:

Yep, those are all the same reasons why Republicans hated Bill Clinton too! Because he's too good looking, too smart, too well loved, and he did do so much!

It seems an awful lot like Republicans don't believe their Congressmen and Senators have any job to do, but I've heard repeated screams last year about Republican followers promising to send Teabaggers to Washington for the specific reason of creating gridlock, NOW you want to complain about gridlock.

Cooky, crazy, rightwing wackos, constantly contradicting themselves.

In the book "The President's Club" by Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy there is mention of the time when a newly elected President Kennedy remarked to Robert McNamara (after discussing the position of Defense Secretary) that "We can learn our jobs together." I'm sorry but I can't wait (or continue to pay) for four more year's of Mr. Obama's on the job training!!!!

    BarackObama.com/Obama Diary:

Obama for America Press Secretary Ben LaBolt released the following statement on an RNC spokesperson’s claim yesterday that Mitt Romney’s economic plans are the “Bush plan, but just updated”:

“Yesterday an RNC spokesperson confirmed what we already knew: that Mitt Romney’s economic policies are the ‘Bush plan just updated.’ Governor Romney has repackaged the same policies that led us into the economic crisis in the first place: giving tax breaks to the wealthiest few at the expense of the middle class and promoting risky financial deals that not only led to the slowest economic growth in a generation but to years of middle class families struggling with fewer jobs and flat incomes and an economic crisis that included a massive elimination of wealth, a collapse of our markets, and rampant job loss. We’ve seen how this movie ends before, and the middle class can’t afford to go back. The President believes we must continue building an economy that lasts, where everybody from Main Street to Wall Street does their fair share and plays by the same set of rules, and hard work and responsibility are rewarded.”

    ***********

We have yet to see Romney offer one single competent idea of his own. Not one.

Yeah, let's go back to the Bush years.

What's wrong with this country. Considering a vote for Romney is a no brainer.

Yes Mr. Still is a constitutionalist. Be warned he does not think the gold standard is best. His book is 'No More National Debt' which is similar in nature to Ron Paul's books. I've found both quite intereseting. I read 'End the Fed' by Ron Paul. I think Mr. Still's book is better.

Just remember how Mr. Perry got tongue twisted in the debate when he tried to name the many versions of Mr. Romney. Mr. Perry is a great politician but the shifting sands, that is Mr. Romney, left him in knots. Remember he was progressive before he was extremely conservative. It was a GOP joke about the liberal and the moderate and the conservative that went into the bar and the bartender said hi Mitt. He was pro choice before he was pro life. He was for gay marriage before he was against it. He was for the individual mandate before he was against it.Now he is against the very health care law he championed. He was for gun control before, noww he is against... need I go on.... The only constant with Mr Romney is that he is an incurable liar.

Regardless, it is much better then a cat chomping bitter old bitch

I will never understand why such an obviously fat, lazy, taxpayer sucking, hateful individual who shows such disdain and disrespect for fellow posters hasn't been banned when others have been for far less. I can only speculate you must be entertaining the girly men who pretend to be "moderators" and "journalists" of this site; much like the poor children who were forced to perform sexual favors for Obama's security team in South America.

Obama ate dogs and attempted to justify it. I bet your "better half" does the same.

What a hoot! McShame and Rob-mey up in Scottsdale partying with all those millionaires, talking about "uniting our party" ! What are they going to do about the tea party people? Not to mention, the evangelicals who think Romney is the antichrist (or pretty close to it)? The state of AZ has one of the biggest gaps between the filthy rich and everybody else in the nation. A total dysfunctional state after decades of Republican rule and corruption at all levels. 9.1 sales tax on everything we buy, while public education is a bad joke and the highways are just potholes held together with patches. Woo hoo! AZ for Romney, no doubt. The Repubs have mastered the art of getting all the poor white trash here to vote Republican no matter what!

Another know nothing without a clue

Oh I guess YOU are going to deny that we went from eight years of peace and prosperity, unprecedented technological advancements, enhanced national infrastructure with more cops on the street and more teachers in the classrooms under President Clinton to the disaster of unfunded wars, tax breaks for the wealthy, deficit spending, increased debt and high unemployment when we allowed a Republican in the White House.

Right, genious... I know nothing and am the one without a clue? Everyone reading this thread sees that YOU are the stupid one without a clue that doesn't know anything, and so does your mother.

Try to understand that it is American citizens - voters - who are the weary ones: weary of your tired, worn out, trite RNC/TEA lies and talking points; weary of you and your ilk trying to convince us that we did not experience what we experienced under President Dubya/Cheney; weary of you attempting to lie and whitewash what you did between 2001 and 2009 to this nation; weary of you refusing to take responsibility for what you did to America during those years; and weary of you RWNJ's trying to pressure voters into giving you another additional chance in the White House so you can finish what you started under Reagan and almost accomplished under Dubya - ruination of the United States of America.

                DUH!

I'm guessing you are every bit as stupid as I think.

The feeble minded are easily led. They are the ones who are always told and never bother to understand what was conducted to reach the conclusion. Like you two.

                    http://www.davehitt.com/facts/

CDC and WHO cannot even agree on the makeup of tobacco smoke. But convince me, how long and to what extent must one be exposed to second hand smoke before it is harmful and carcinogenic to humans? Is it as little as "two cigarettes" as some of the loony anti-smoking radicals claim (oh yeah, their "scientific evidence" proves it, or so they claim)? Or much more?

Full disclosure, I don't smoke but recognize that critical thinking in America is dead.

Many, many on this particular site demonstrate that, especially you two.

                    You guys are a hoot.

It was all tax breaks for the wealthy, especially people that make money from "Carried Interest" and other than that Romney's plan was al about cutting federal programs like food stamps for working parents, spending cuts for the Dept.of Education,Cutting the Dept.Of Tranportation,Cutting the Dept.Of Energy ,which is in charge of cleaning up our Nuclear Waste Sites, and cutting other federal programs that are essential to our way of life.So unless you are a 1%er voting for Mitt Romney is voting against your own interests.
