Brotherly Love? Romney, Santorum likely to meet in next two weeks

With the Pennsylvania primary less than a week away- the question remains, will Rick Santorum endorse Mitt Romney.

Senior Strategist to the Santorum campaign John Brabender told Andrea Mitchell today on MSNBC that he just spoke with Romney’s campaign manager and started to float a few dates for a meeting to take place between the former rivals, likely in the next two weeks in Philadelphia.

“It has been made clear to us that the Gov. Romney would like to have at least a discussion of a possible endorsement at that time," Brabender said.

So will the former senator from Pennsylvania  endorse before next Tuesday’s primary? Brabender didn’t seem to think so. “I don’t think there will be any endorsement before this meeting takes place," he said, adding, "I think he feels it’s important to have a discussion with Mitt Romney to make sure that  the conservative wing of the party is certainly represented in a Romney administration."

Brabender thinks Santorum will be an active participant campaigning this fall, maybe even starting with the Republican Convention this Summer “I would say as  Rick Santourm’s advisor that it would be helpful to the process if he did play a major role in the convention.”

Romney: "Gee whiz Mitt, OMG! I didn't mean it when I said people would be better off voting for Obama, honest! You are the best Mormon candidate ever still looking for an Evangelical vice president!"

Kind of like Hillary did in 2008..... After all these ads depicting Obama has an inexperienced leader. Gee whiz, "who do you want answering the White House phone at 3:am?". Then she gets a job as Secretary of State.. Honest Barrack I meant you were the "Most experienced .3 term Senator choice for President we could ever have"..... :)~

Just heard Dick Clark passed away at the age of 82...

Godspeed to you Dick, I wouldn't trade the memories of watching American Bandstand on Saturday mornings for anything!

I'll miss him too. I met him a number of times on the bandstand set. One of his cameramen was my best friend's dad. He was such a gentleman, and knew how to treat people and how to make them feel good about themselves. Many Philadelphians have very warm memories of Dick Clark.

Feisty...

I really only remember him from New Year's Eve as I'm a bit too young to remember American Bandstand. (Can vaguely remember my parents watching $25,000 Pyramid though). But he was an American icon for sure and will go down as one of the most influential figures in television and pop history. R.I.P. Dick Clark. You will be missed. :-(

Grimey!

You are such a 'pup'!

{{{hugs}}}

New Year's Eve will never be the same! ;o(

I'll miss him too. I met him a number of times on the bandstand set.

That is such a cool experience, when my daughter was in high school she had a friend whose father worked on the set of ER & they would hang out with Clooney & gang on location shoots.

Of course, Mom volunteered to drive every chance she got! ;o)

If Santorum backs Romney he looses what little credibility he has left.

I would say that as a loyal Democrat, I couldn't agree more. Santorum having a major role at the convention would be VERY helpful to the process of re-electing President Obama.

Yes, I believe you are correct. The GOP has put Obama back in for another 4 years The GOP wouldn't know a viable candidate from, say "spit in iced tea." No one to blame but their reflections in the mirror. Good job.

I'm not sure his religion allows him to have somores, and if it does he will hire Santorum to build the fire and serve him somores, Rick is in need of the dignity of work, and Romney has never suffered the indignity of having to work.

We all know that ricky-poo will then force his wife to build the fire and serve Princess Mittsy. Throw in a pole dance from Newt's "wife" and it would be a perfect evening at the Republican campfire.

Forget ideology - that's nice for the party but it's all going to come down to how much campaign debt Romney is willing to help Santorum with.

    Ursula:

American Crossroads, I mean the Koch Brothers, will suddenly cut Santorum a ten million dollar check. The problem for Romney is that Democrats WANT Santorum to kiss up to Romney on the convention podium. They will send their own photographer to capture every embrace. I hope Romney saves some big bear hugs for Gingrich too.

Much ado about nothing. The whole issue is who will get spending under control? Romney or Obama? The answer is obvious.

John you know the president does not spend, or control spending, that's a separate branch of government. He will be president if elected not CEO, like he is used to, he will feel like his balls have been cut off because they will be in comparison.

Well Forrest, see, the way it's done is, the president submits a budget proposal, and it gets voted on-oh, wait.

Two years in a row his proposals went down to defeat unanimously.

Well, anyway, then, the House draws up a budget, and the Senate draws up a budget, and they reconcile them, and the president can veto it if it has too much spending.

Oh. Wait. The Senate has not drawn up a budget in three years.

So, the system Obama is using is calling for one continuing resolution after another. Oh, and dumping tons of cash in departments where it gets doled out by his donors, who-Surprise!- ship it out to his other donors.

Who seem to go bankrupt at an alarming rate.

So, I'm betting on Romney- who knows how to get a budget implemented, how to live within it, how to negotiate- all the things Obama is clueless about.

Oh, and Forrest? If you entered the three dollar lottery, and get picked to have dinner at the White House? If they tell you your dog is welcome- leave the pooch at home.

    Obama's wieners? Really are.

So you agree with me the president has no control over the budget, a separate branch of government has that power, yes that is right. In the case of Obama's wiener I have to take your word, I never gave his weiner a single thought, you seem to more interested and knowledgeable about his wiener than most.
