Boehner, McConnell endorse Romney for president

Updated 3:34 p.m. - House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) ended his neutrality in the GOP presidential primary and formally endorsed Mitt Romney on Tuesday.

The top Republican on Capitol Hill told reporters that he was "proud" to support Romney now that it has become clear that the former Massachusetts governor would be the Republican nominee.

"It's clear now that Mitt Romney is going to be our nominee," Boehner said at a press conference. "I think Mitt Romney has a set of economic policies that can put Americans back to work and, frankly, contrast sharply with the failed economic policies of President Obama."

"I will be proud to support Mitt Romney and do everything I can to help him win," Boehner added.

Boehner had remained doggedly neutral throughout the primary, partly due to his high-profile position. Even still, many of the other members of the Republican leadership team in the House endorsed Romney. The most visible declaration arguably came from Boehner's deputy, Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), who endorsed Romney shortly before Virginia's primary.

There were points, though, in the GOP primary when Romney didn't make life easier for Republican leaders on Capitol Hill, for instance his eventual opposition to the agreement to raise the debt ceiling last August.

**UPDATE**: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also chimed on Tuesday afternood, saying at a press conference, per NBC's Libby Leist:

Yeah, I support Governor Romney for president of the United States.  And he is going to be the nominee.  And as you have noticed, the party is in the process of unifying behind him.  And I think it's going to be an incredibly close, hard-fought race.  Everybody is banding -- bandying polls around, but just look at the Gallup tracking poll yesterday actually had Governor Romney with a two-point lead.  I think it's going to be a very, very competitive election.  We're all behind him and looking forward to the fall campaign, which is actually already under way.

"Stuck" with him? According to the first official Gallup poll for the 2012 presidential election Romney is the favored choice by registered voters.

In the Gallup poll conducted 4/11-4/15 polling over 2200 registered voters it breaks down likes this:

Romney - 47%

Obama - 45%

The same poll further shows independents favoring Romney 45%-39% over Obama.

By all means, lets replace one big government liberal with another big government liberal...then we can spend an extra 1/2 billion redecorating the white house...and a year replacing the criminals in the white house with a different batch of criminals...The "R" Party can go take a flying leap, I would rather this nation suffer 4 more years of Obama...at least then we have a chance to bury the progressive movement for another 80 years...Please China, save us from ourselves...Our two party substitute for democracy makes you the shinning light of Freedom

Obama/Biden More taxes, more waste, more entitlements, more socialist policies and radical appointments. Perhaps oil is a right and Obama will nationalize the oil companies who pay his exorbitant vacations. Obama's venture into venture capitalism shows his lack of knowledge of how the economy works. His political gifts of taxpayer monies to fund green energy companies with junk bond status only benefited his cronies. Time for Mitt to clean up Obama's mess. This is the worst recovery since the great depression and Mitt will fix the economy. bring pride back to the United States with job creation, a balanced budget, and lower taxes for all.

In the Gallup poll conducted 4/11-4/15 polling over 2200 registered voters it breaks down likes this:

2200 is hardly a statistically significant sample of the U.S. voting pool. As we have seen time and time again, the electoral college and delegates count -- not the popular vote. We still have over 200 days until the election, making poll numbers even more pointless at this point. To be fair, I would respond the same if those numbers were reversed.

However, I'm sure you would have some sort of an excuse if your guy was not at the top of that poll, blaming this person or that group, bias, etcetera, etcetera. As long as your guy is "winning," all must be right with those numbers. Your playbook is exposed and boring.

Your response still does not make sense in response to the original post. It is clear that the conservative base is dissatisfied with Romney as the GOP pick. Hence, they are "stuck" with him. Conservatives cannot carry the GOP, nor a general election, without pandering outward to moderates.

To Puh-lease and Chicken Squared.

I find it interesting that each of you as well as NBC/FR will use and stand squarely behind every poll that favors a democrat. When an unbiased poll from Gallup doesn't support your candidate/party or if it is only a small percentage, you want to try to spin it in an effort to misconstrue the findings.

Conservatives can't carry the GOP? We'll see. But the fact of the Gallup poll I posted also shows a greater margin of independents supporting Romney. Who ever captures the majority of independents will be the next president. If that weren't true there would be no reason for the president to be trying so hard to capture the indy vote. To this point he is failing. Just as he has failed to lead this country.

1.) You assume I support Obama, even though I have only stated that I do not support Romney and that I am not a conservative. Tsk tsk. Meanwhile, you tout that independents are the key to the election.

2.) You just repeated exactly what I said to you. To the contrary, I wrote:

To be fair, I would respond the same if those numbers were reversed.

Polls (especially 200-day early polls) are pointless when it comes to elections because elections are not based on the popular vote, regardless of where they come from or who they support.

3.) We have already seen in the GOP primary, and in 2008, that conservatives alone cannot carry the GOP.

President Obama and his minions are going to be vetted this time around. The BS that they spew will be shown to be what it is, BS. I see another shellacking of the progressive/liberal agenda in November. Even MSNBC has a current article that is not very flattering to our President. It actually says his new stand on oil trading is nothing but politics. But whenever MSNBC is critical of President Obam they don't allow us to post comments. I'm tired of the BS from this administration and I am sure that I am not alone.

1/20/2013 - the end of an error

Romney will be better for the country than Obama. Romney couldn't do as much damage as Obama in the next four years so we might as well give him a shot. We can get rid of him after 4 years just like this current administration.

Status Quo. Another man with a pretty low approval. Phony conservative too.. To him being a conservative means stealing from the working class. Since Ron Paul has way more delegates than the media will admit, lets just get a few more delegate voting Americans to join the rallies of thousands of people and finish pushing a true conservative over the top. Lets guarantee ourselves no more WAR without the peoples approval. Lets have a sound money so the next generation can retire on time. Lets take the battle to socialism and restore a free market that government and crony capitalism can never again destroy. Get them out of it!! Lets get ourselves out of debt to communist China. Lets elect a man who knows what the oath is and has proved he loves this country with his record. Cast the real vote.. Delegate Ron Paul 2012.. Go.. Stand up and be counted.. We have to challenge the status-quo and demand real change.. Change you can believe in.. Ron Paul.. Seeing Romney only has 500 delegates as being reported by this media that should leave you to ask... Where are all the other delegates? Yep.. Mitts the media money master elites pick.. But RON PAUL is the PEOPLES President,,, NOT the MEDIAS...

Really John?? What a surprise. Another "non" conservative just like ol' Dubya!! No thanks. After eight years of his administration, I'd rather see Obama in there for another 4. I mean under Bush the size of government doubled, deficit spending returned, the debt skyrocketed with 2 unfunded wars, the corporate losses were socialized with taxpayer funded bailouts, American people were laid off by the millions, there was TARP and TBTF, another socialist program for seniors (Medicare part D), Katrina, and gas cost as much then as it does now! Why would I want to "reward" a Republican candidate with my vote when his rhetoric doesn't fit his record? When everything he says he doesn't stand for, he's done himself? When he has stood on every side of every issue?

Answer this question, If the dems couldn't get anything done with the majority they had in Congress because the republicans blocked eveything, how can you put the blame totally on republicans for the mess we're in? Where were the democrats when Bush was in office. If he was doing such terrible things to the country why didn't they stop him? They evidently had the votes to stop everything that Bush wanted to do because Congress wasn't nearly as lopsided. They must just be totally incompetent or STUPID. Which is it?

The last time this country had one party total control of the White House and Congress was Jimmy Carter's administration. Things look very familiar today, don't they?

Answer this question, If the dems couldn't get anything done with the majority they had in Congress because the republicans blocked eveything, how can you put the blame totally on republicans for the mess we're in?

Try to understand this -- the Recession started in 2005 when Republicans controlled the White House, the House of representatives and the Senate. Your Republicans held all the marbles when this recession -- the worst in 80 years -- began. And today -- the only answers Republicans have to fix the economy is more of the same policies -- tax cuts for the richest of the rich and more deregulation -- are the same policies that caused it in the first place. Remember -- it was George W. Bush and his Republican Congress who brought us two unfunded wars, two unfunded tax cuts, a massive, unfunded, new entitlement, the largest expansion of government since LBJ, the largest increase in energy prices in any 8 year period in our history, along with a net loss of jobs over 8 years all while turning the largest surplus of all times into the largest deficit of all times and leaving office with the worst economy since the depressions.

The last time this country had one party total control of the White House and Congress was Jimmy Carter's administration.

That't total BS. From the tile Bush took office until 2007 Republicans controlled both the House and Senate except for a few months when one republican switched to independent. Get your FACTS right.

Charlie, you are mistaken. I think you are the first person to say that this recession started in 2005

WOW!! Typical low information Republican!! Any FACT you don't like you simply deny it. If the economy was in such great shape in 2006, why did the Republican get kicked out of both the House and Senate??

"I think Mitt Romney has a set of economic policies that can put Americans back to work and, frankly, contrast sharply with the failed economic policies of President Obama."

"Failed economic policies of President Obama??" Seems like they succeeded, while yours fell flat on the ground. The stimulus package saved the economy and created at least 2 million jobs, reversed GDP loss, and led the way for two years of private sector job growth. Obama's jobs bill (fully paid for) would have added an extra 2 million people payrolls. What does Mitt have to offer???? Tax cuts that will break the Treasury, and spending cuts that will lead to an economic collapse. Yeah, right.

Obama/Biden More taxes, more waste, more entitlements, more socialist policies and radical appointments.

Technically, Obama will only raise taxes on the wealthy. That doesn't seem so bad, considering that their tax rate is the lowest in decades. And Obama hasn't done anything socialist or added any more entitlements. Obamacare simply covers more people for Medicaid and forces to people to buy private insurance. As for radical appointments, we have had five conservative justices for years, and they bungled up the Bush v. Gore election and Citizens United. I think it's time we had some liberals on the bench.

Obama's venture into venture capitalism shows his lack of knowledge of how the economy works.

Obama never went into venture capitalism. He simply gave grants to green companies in order to boost growth. As for GM and Chrysler, the bailout was a huge success. Both companies are booming, and GM is now the number one automaker in the world. Plus they are both making profits AND hiring American workers.

Time for Mitt to clean up Obama's mess. This is the worst recovery since the great depression and Mitt will fix the economy. bring pride back to the United States with job creation, a balanced budget, and lower taxes for all.

What mess does Mitt have to clean up??? The deficit under Obama has gone down from $1.4 trillion to $1.1 trillion, the economy has created millions of private sector jobs, and the Dow is over 13,000. Mitt's economic plan only includes lowering taxes (increases deficit, hurts economy in future) and spending cuts, which will add more people to the unemployment line. Romney's tax plan wouldn't balance the budget; in fact, it would add $3.4 trillion to current deficits. And how can you lower taxes AND balance the budget??? You cannot balance the budget now with only spending cuts, so how will you cover trillions in future tax cuts???? Under Romney's tax plan, the wealthy would get a $150,000 check while those who make less than $30,000 get a tax increase, and in order to balance the budget the economy would have to grow 5.4% every year, more than during the dot-com bubble. It is highly unlikely that these tax cuts will spur such dynamic growth; the Bush tax cuts didn't, so what good is more cuts???

According to Ruken, "Obama and Romney haven't even debated yet. I don't see why anyone on either side is so concerned about poll numbers." Exactly. In another article, about Ted Nugent's latest rant where he possibly threatens Obama with violence, Romney didn't have a statement to make on the subject (Nugent had also endorsed Romney). Instead, the Romney campaign statement came from a spokesperson. Either Romney is ambivalent about threats on the President's life, even when coming from a celebrity endorser, or his campaign didn't trust him to make the statement himself.

In my opinion, the real test will be the debates between Obama and Romney, when Romney can't have surrogates speak for him and he puts his foot in his mouth about every other sentence.

I just love McConnell's endorsement...

Yeah, I support Governor Romney for president of the United States. And he is going to be the nominee.

Sounds like my teenage nephew, "Yeah, I'll take out the trash. I guess someone's gotta do it." Has there been a single enthusiastic endorsement of Romney yet? Almost every response about supporting Romney has started with, "Well, um, uh, I, uh guess, uh... Since everyone else dropped out, and there's no other choice... then I suppose..."

OH WOW this is stunning news...

The Leaders of the Republican Party have endorsed the certain nominees of their party for President! I mean who do you think they would endorse? Hugo Chavez or Vladimir Putin?

Non News

(And this is certainly no attack on Romney, just pointing out how this is not news anyone than if Ronald McDonald said he likes Big Macs)

Ahh but beyond the polls and media BS, Wasn't Boehner the one who promoted the SAY NO agenda over the past 3 years. Yup he sure is a grand representative of the people. Anything that passed through OUR Congress has been rejected due to the GOP's SAY NO AGENDA!!!!!!!!!!

Boehner LIES about his drinking too, I hear more than 2 beers or drinks & he is out cold or puking on himself or Cantor .

Nancy Pellosi had to pick him up off the floor once to keep the newscameras from recording him, it's why he NEVER attacks her directly & why Cantor cannot trust Boehner, he thinks there's MORE TO IT than just saving a mans rep.

@ Seven2Seven: minor correction to your note. On John King tonight, Bachman still refuses to formally endorse Romney. She wants him to win, but...steadfastly would not endorse him. (Perhaps she wants to wait till after the other two jump out.)

Actually, I don't believe any Repub really wants to endorse him. He just has the most money and can stay in it the longest.

Cantor from Va. He is done and he knows it. Most of the republican that got elected in 2010 will lose their seats. And Boehner will be left to crying again.

So did the families of over 5,500 Americans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan after being killed in a stupid war that was waged by idiots on both sides (mostly Republican, though) of the aisle. Not to mention the families of those who lost limbs, were disabled, or saw their friends-in-arms blown to smithereens by a bloody IED. Where the @!$%# is the outrage there???? Bush effectively killed them; why don't you talk about that, "big ben?????" At least Obama's "Fast and Furious" plan (originated from Bush) was for a worthy cause; stopping gun smuggling. The bloody wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were for oil and power. Not democracy, not safety, but oil and power. And all they accomplished was creating a power vacuum in Iraq and an unstable "democracy" in Afghanistan that will require our aid for decades!!!!

And, Bigben, you do know that that guns started to be sent to Mexico under Bush's administration, don't you? Sorry, but most of the ills that Republicans bitch about all started under a Republican regime. But, sorry, don't let any facts interfere with your rants!

              My question was rhetorical.

I know Paul has a following of true believers, and so does Santorum. but they part company when it comes to social/religious issues..

As a liberal Democrat, I think that it will be a closer election than 2008, but Obama will win.

My GOP moderate friends here in MN are turned off by Romney's pandering to the extremism in the party, the GOP attempt to strip mine women's choices about their health care and his "neocon" leading attitudes in foreign affairs.

Boehner has stated on several occasions he would let the American people make the decision who they wanted as the republican candidate and now that it's clear Romney is the one, he's ready to back him because that's what the American people who voted in primaries want. Gee a politician who understands how democracy works.

Have you noticed the TOTAL MSNBC blackout (actually all the Media Elite) regarding Obama's OWN Lawyer, Alexandra Hill, who has admitted that Obama's Birth Certificate released last April 27th was a forgery? One would think a President committing a felony would be "news". Amazing the depth the Media Elite goes to protect their Annoited One.

Like Bush or not, didn't care much for that Big Government Republican, he won the Presidency the SAME way as all Presidents except for Washington, via the Electoral College. Obama also won by the same way, the difference, he was not qualified as intended by our Founding Fathers that a Natural Born Citizen is someone born to two (both) parents who are already Citizens at the time of the Child's birth and that child born after the ratification of the US Constitution in 1787. Obama, rather than taking the honorable way of starting a Constitutional Admendment process of Natural Born Citizen, instead became an Usurper illegally occuping the Oval Office. As for you Republicans, this ALSO applies to Rubio, if you choose to defy the Supreme Law of the Land and select Rubia as VP, the US Constitution requiurement of Natural Born Citizen is NOT met, as BOTH parents were not yet US Citizens at the time of Rubio's birth. So this is NOT about Democratic or Republican politics, this is about upholding the US Constitution.

Please you're just embarrassing yourself. And, you're wrong about the citizenship. It has always been that one parent has to be a US citizen - not both. President Obama won by both the popular vote and the electorial college.

You really need to study the constitution as you have no knowledge of it at all.

And, experts confirmed the authenticity of President Obama's birth certificate. Even the Republican governor of Hawaii said it is real. But, you go ahead with your delusions.

Obama’s lawyer, Alexandra Hill, admitted that the image of Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery and made the absurd claim that, therefore, it cannot be used as evidence to confirm his lack of natural born citizenship status. Therefore, she argued, it is “irrelevant to his placement on the ballot”. Hill went on to contort reasoning by implying that Obama needs only invoke his political popularity, not legal qualifications, in order to be a candidate.
So we have one more instance of the high and mighty thinking that the law does not apply to them, it is only written for the little people.
At the hearing, attorney for the plaintiffs, Mario Apuzzo, correctly argued that Obama, under the Constitution, has to be a “natural born Citizen” and that he has not met his burden of showing that he is eligible to be on the New Jersey primary ballot by showing that he is indeed a “natural born Citizen.” He argued that Obama has shown no authenticate evidence to the New Jersey Secretary of State demonstrating who he is and that he was born in the United States. Apuzzo also argued that as a matter of law, Obama is not a “natural born Citizen” because he was born to a father who was not a U.S. citizen.

Kurt, in a nutshell (your place of residence), Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.

                                                  It's a stone cold fact.

Anyone who is born on U.S. soil is automatically a U.S. citizen. That includes U.S. territories like Guam. Hawaii is a U.S. state.

                                                  Deal with it.

But President Obama WAS born on U.S. soil to a woman who WAS a U.S. citizen...making President Obama a natural born U.S. citizen. Sorry, Kurt, one's citizenship does not revolve solely around the father.

Do you have a actual transcript from this "hearing", or are you simply relying on a RWNJ website that cites a "report" from TeaPartyTribune.com as further "proof"?

Hate to break the truth to you guys, I know you can not accept it. Please review your 18th Century history, you are confusing a Citizen with a "Natural Born Citizen". Remember not all Citizens are Natural Born Citizens. The fact is as intended by our Founding Fathers, the actual writers of the US Constitution, a natural born citizen is that BOTH parents must be US Citizens at the time of the child's birth if born after the ratification of the US Constitution in 1787. This Natural Born Citizen meaning is backed up by Supreme Court Cases US vs Wong Kim Ark in 1898 and Perkins vs Elg in 1939.

Simply put, being born of a Foreign Parent even if BHO were to have been born in The Capitol Building during a Joint Session of Congress on a 4th of July he'd still NEVER have any possibility of being a "natural born citizen" as required by the U.S. Constitution.

A litte 18th History Lesson on this subject > The term natural born citizen was first codified in the legal reference book "Law of Nations" in 1758, of which was used by John Jay who later became the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. John Jay considered the outstanding legal scholar of his time had the "natural born citizen" clause inserted into the U.S. Constitution via a letter he wrote to George Washington, the leader of the Constitutional Convention

Those who think beyond what the Media Elite tells you does appear to be "crazy", I understand. Go ahead, learn your 18th Century History, you actually may learn the difference between a "Citizen" and a "Natural Born Citizen". If it was ONLY Citizenship requirement to become US President or VP, the Constitution would state "citizen" instead of "Natural Born Citizen"

                                                    Minor v. Happersett (1874) 21 Wall. 162, 166-168
'At common law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country, of parents (plural) who were its citizens (plural), became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further, and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction, without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case, it is not necessary to solve these doubts. It is sufficient, for everything we have now to consider, that all children, born of citizen parents (plural), within the jurisdiction, are themselves citizens.' "Minor v. Happersett (1874) 21 Wall. 162, 166-168.

                                                    U. S. v Wong Kim Ark (1898) , the court thoroughly discussed "natural born citizen," and Justice Gray quoted from Minor v. Happersett
The cases importance is that it is the first case decided by the Supreme Court that attempts to explain the meaning of "natural born citizen" under Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution. Natural born citizen is similar to the meaning of what a natural born subject is under Common Law in England and why the framers specifically included a grandfather clause (natural born Citizen OR a Citizen of the United States, at the time of adoption of this Constitution) as the founding fathers needed to grandfather clause themselves in, in order to be president because they were British subjects. The holding in U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark states that Wong Kim Ark is a native born citizen and NOT natural born. If you look at the fact of Wong Kim Ark being born in San Francisco, CA, of foreign (Chinese) parents, therefore was not 'natural born'.

Perkins v. Elg's (1939) importance is that it actually gives examples of what a "natural born citizen" of the U.S. is; what a "citizen" of the U.S. is; and what a "native born citizen" of the U. S.
In this case, the U. S. Supreme Court decided the same as in prior case law that a "natural born citizen" is a person who is born of two U.S. citizen parents (plural) AND born in the mainland of U.S.

Citizen: On cross appeals, the Court of Appeals affirmed the decree, 69 App.D.C. 175, 99 F.2d 408. Certiorari was granted, December 5, 1938, 305 U.S. 591, 59 S.Ct. 245, 83 L.Ed. --. First.-- On her birth in New York, the plaintiff became a citizen of the United States. Civil Rights Act of 1866: Ms. Elg was found to be a "citizen" because she was born in the mainland USA (New York)

According to the radical, left-wing, liberal, commie website referred to as Wikipedia:

"The Constitution does not define the phrase natural-born citizen"

                                                      and

"The Congressional Research Service has stated that the weight of scholarly legal and historical opinion indicates that the term means one who is entitled under the Constitution or laws of the United States to U.S. citizenship "at birth" or "by birth," including any child born "in" the United States, even to alien parents (other than to foreign diplomats serving their country), the children of United States citizens born abroad, and those born abroad of one citizen parent who has met U.S. residency requirements."

You chose to cite some interesting cases:

United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898), was a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held that virtually everyone born in the United States is a U.S. citizen. This decision established an important precedent in its interpretation of the Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution.

                                                      and

Perkins v. Elg, 307 U.S. 325 (1939), was a decision by the Supreme Court of the United States that a child born in the United States to naturalized parents on U.S. soil is a natural born citizen and that the child's natural born citizenship is not lost if the child is taken to and raised in the country of the parents' origin, provided that upon attaining the age of majority, the child elects to retain U.S. citizenship "and to return to the United States to assume its duties."

The Perkins and Elg's (1939) Supreme Court case in detail regarding Natural Born Citizen

Natural Born Citizen: U. S. Supreme Court's Relevant Facts: Miss Elg was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 2, 1907. Her parents, who were natives of Sweden, emigrated to the United States sometime prior to 1906 and her father was naturalized here in that year. In 1911, her mother took her to Sweden where she continued to reside until September 7, 1929. Her father went to Sweden in 1922 and has not since returned to the United States. In November, 1934, he made a statement before an American consul in Sweden that he had voluntarily expatriated himself for the reason that he did not desire to retain the status of an American citizen and wished to preserve his allegiance to Sweden. [Perkins v. Elg, 307 U.S. 325, 327 (1939).]
                                                      U. S. Supreme Court's Holding: The court below, properly recognizing the existence of an actual controversy with the defendants (Aetna Life Ins. Co. v. Haworth, 300 U.S. 227, 57 S.Ct. 461, 81 L.Ed. 617, 108 A.L.R. 1000) declared Miss Elg 'to be a natural born citizen of the United States' (99 F.2d 414) and we think that the decree should include the Secretary of State as well as the other defendants. [Perkins v. Elg, 307 U.S. 325, 350 (1939).]

Rationale of the logic is as follows: The U. S. Supreme Court in 1939 held that Elg was a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN because she was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 2, 1907, her father was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1906 under the Naturalization Act of 1906, and her mother derived her US citizenship in 1907 under the Expatriation Act of 1907 (federal statute) as proof, and being that, Elg was born prior to the 19th Amendment, ratified on August 18, 1920, her status was still tied to that of her husband.
Ms. Elg was found to be a "natural born citizen" because she was born in the mainland USA (New York) of TWO US citizen parents. (plural)

Look beyond the generalized facts of Wikipedia into the ACTUAL details of the case :)

A person can be a "citizen" under the following circumstances:
                                                        1) Person was born of one citizen parent (Obama), or
                                                        2) Person was born in the US mainland ("anchor babies"), or
                                                        3) Person was naturalized (like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who most know is not eligible for President).

To be a "Natural Born Citizen" one must be born to TWO (both) parents who are already US Citizens at the time of the Childs birth and born after the ratification of the US Constitution in 1787

To be a "Natural Born Citizen" is much more stricter than to be just a "citizen". To Seeking, I never said Obama is NOT a citizen, I stated he is NOT a Natural Born Citizen. If you knew the difference, you would understand.

                                                          As I quoted above:

Perkins v. Elg, 307 U.S. 325 (1939), was a decision by the Supreme Court of the United States that a child born in the United States to naturalized parents on U.S. soil is a natural born citizen

How does this apply to President Obama? The case is clearly based on naturalized parents, whereas President Obama's mother was a natural-born citizen herself, not a naturalized citizen. You're citing a case that has no relevance to your argument.

Perhaps the distinction between "naturalized" and "natural-born" is a bit too subtle for you to understand how that would affect the situation.

You all are forgiven for it take understanding of 18th Century history to understand when the Founding Fathers were writing the US Constitution in 1787. Check out the Legal Reference Book "Law of Nations" in 1758. This is where our Founding Fathers took the term Natural Born Citizen from. Of course, you can come up with your own Politically Correct Revisionist History on the definition of Natural Born Citizen. I stuck with the Supreme Law of the Law, the US Constitution as intended by our Founding Fathers unless the proper Admendment procedures to the US Constitution are completed.

I have consistently attacked the message, not the messenger.

The U.S. Constitution does not define the meaning of natural born citizen - as I indicated in my very first post. That leaves it up to the courts to define. I have asked you to offer any proof that the courts have rendered a decision that would unambiguously define "natural born citizen" to the point where President Obama could be declared as ineligible.

I have asked - and you have failed. That's not an attack on YOU - while you may take failure personally, it's evident that you have no basis for claiming that President Obama is NOT a natural born citizen. By extension, your claims of forgery and the committing of felonies are equally baseless.

                                                              Provide the proof, or STFU.

"That leaves it up to the courts to define", it is already defined in the "Law of Nations" from 1758. Remember, the Constitution writers are in the 18th Century. Constitutional Scholars know that the Founding Fathers took the definition from the Law of Nations meaning to be a Natural BOrn Citizen, you must be born to TWO (BOTH) parents who are already Citizens at the time of the child's birth. THis has to do with Constitutional Law, NOT Democratic or Republican politics as if Rubio would become the VP candidate, he too would not be Natural Born Citizen. Defending the US Constitution over partisan politics.

Have you noticed the TOTAL MSNBC blackout (actually all the Media Elite) regarding Obama's OWN Lawyer, Alexandra Hill, who has admitted that Obama's Birth Certificate released last April 27th was a forgery?

more birther crap! How about, instead of this birther crap, which has been disproven time and again, Republicans actually offer a plan, any plan to increase JOBS in this economy?

Nope, ain't there! Other than the "Ryan plan", which promises to balance the budget by 2040! Sorry, it only took a Republican regime 8 years to destroy the economy, why the hell should it take 28 years to restore it?

Thanks, but no thanks! Republicans had their chance with Bush and majorities in both houses of congress for 8 years. What did we get? Double the national debt, an economy in the toilet and Halliburton richer than ever! Why in the hell should I vote Republican again?

Known as "The Emigrant", his notable descendants include U.S. Presidents Harry S. Truman and Barack Obama, American Vice-President Dick Cheney, Wallis Simpson (for whom Edward VIII gave up the throne), and actor Robert Duvall.

It's rare that I find anybody with less spine, dignity, and conviction than myself. But today, I am proud to announce that we have such a man as our presidential candidate, and that is why I am endorsing Mitt Romney for President. America, if you are a fan of my brand of failed leadership where I constantly cave in to the Tea Party, then go on Sunday shows to spin their positions to you instead of actually trying to form a governing consensus, then vote for Mitt Romney. If you like Mitch McConnell's constant obstructionism in the Senate, then vote for Mitt Romney. We've been able to grind the gears of government to a virtual halt, and with Mitt Romney in the White House, we'll be able to shut it down completely (don't worry, though, we'll still make sure to repeal women's rights whenever we get the change). Most importantly, that frees me up to spend even more time on the golf course and in the tanning salon. That's why I am endorsing Mitt Romney, America.
