FT. LAUDERDALE, FL -- Mitt Romney has asked Beth Myers, the manager of his 2008 campaign and a longtime trusted aide, to head up his search for a running mate, Romney advisers told NBC News on Monday.
Myers, who served as Romney's chief of staff during his tenure as Massachusetts governor and ran his 2008 campaign, is one considered to be one of Romney's closest -- and most tight-lipped -- political advisers.
"I've asked her to be the person who oversees the process of the vice presidential selection and vetting an analysis and so she's begun that process and is putting together the kinds of things you need to do to vet potential candidates," Romney told ABC News in an interview Monday.

Romney also said in the interview that he only began seriously talking about selecting a vice president this weekend, while fundraising in Florida.
The presumptive Republican nominee declined to reveal names on his shortlist, but has in the past praised the deep bench of Republican governors and other legislators -- and said that his primary concern in selecting a running mate would be that the person be able to assume the presidency immediately, if necessary.
At a town hall event last September in Arizona, Romney praised former Vice President Dick Cheney, and suggested the former head of the Defense Department and one-time White House chief of staff had the kind of experience he would look for in selecting his own running mate.
"That's the kind of person I'd like to have -- a person of wisdom and judgement," Romney said of Cheney.

HOW TO AVOID BECOMING A RELIGIOUS ZEALOT
STEPS:
1) Be accepting that every religion has some good to it. Learn to see other religions for their good rather than their bad qualities. In other words, don't make personal accusations or threats... practice kindness one to another (including those who are spiteful toward you).
2) Do not dismiss the beliefs of other faiths automatically. Try and learn what other religions have to say. Relate this to your own beliefs. Examine yourself to see whether your vengeance interferes in the work of your religions teachings ("as much as possible be at peace...").
3) Remain open to life. Do not be fanatical about forcing your beliefs on others when interacting with them and do not create overlays of judgment on what others do colored by your religious values. Be passionate about your belief, but causing others to confess or convert by force will not change anger or fear to love or kindness.

dennis the menace - Obama is attacking the Ryan budget as the end of the world, people will starve, the sun will not rise. Ryan's budget is an attempt to solve the problem. The coward in the senate, dirty harry reid has not a budget in the last 900 days. Unless there is a major sustained upturn in the economy, we need a major reduction in spending. It is much easier to live for today, than meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The best part of reading all this jibber jabber is that no one really offers any viable solutions...me included....with that said....we should probably change that and speak less. Its like the political complainers what don't vote....doesn't make sense....
I think the only way to change anything is to vote any incumbent out that currently hold office starting with the President, anyone in congress and senate. Make a real difference and send a message.

Problem is, the GOP has been actively OPPOSING any effective measures to effectively address the debt crisis THEY created so they could privatize SS and Medicare!
Today is the end result of the process started with the Raygun administration. They haven wavered. Seems to me we need Obama's re-election AND a gop-proof congress. We may not be able to withstand another 2 years (at least) of obstruction of proven measures to address the deficit.
I believe that they are in part doing stupid things but they are the only ones putting a budget forward....good or bad...the only one. The pres. budget was rejected not only by repubs but also dems. The senate...no budget yet.....Seems that if they don't put one out, which is by law, then they should be brought in front of the judicial branch for not complying with law.

After all, the GOP did walk away from $4T in budget cuts just so they could protect the bush tax cuts for the rich and the corporate loopholes. The GOP wants to KEEP the tax cuts, make them permanent AND reduce the highest rate down to 28%. That is what got us into the debt crisis to begin with! not to mention privatizing Medicare! THAT is why there's been no budget! The Democrats are NOT going to allow that to happen And if the GOP persists, they may not be in any position to block anything after the Nov. elections! THAT is how angry the American people are.

At first thinking this section would be my favorite part. As it progressed, I became very sad. The negative influence on others including our President makes Jeremiah Wright a pivotal negative personality in my lifetime. From Jeremiah came the ascension of the “One. Listening and incorporating the racist and black liberation rants of Jeremiah, helped make Obama the man he is today! Jeremiah’s beliefs are due to being a Muslim, Marxism, and Black Liberation Theologian with a pinch of Christianity. Now that is messed up! This radical thinking is the same as his disciple Barack Hussein Obama. The acorn does not fall far from the tree. The dash of Christianity helps make the gooney gook go down. They fit the definition of “being all things, to all men”. This way if queried about your religious belief, you can be almost anything to everyone in your mind. Sadly, Christianity doesn’t belong with that nonsense. The bottom line analysis is that they believe in hatred toward those who are different. This includes skin color, followers of the constitution, freedom and the “Little and Great Satan“. After all, their main goal in life is racial revenge. That is why reparations could never be enough. They must make their enemies pay, pay and pay. Even after death, they will still blame you for being white, a capitalist or Jewish. I wondered earlier why they hated the Jewish People. Being a Christian I have historic religious affiliation with the Jewish People, particularity in Israel. Then I realized that Jeremiah and Barrack are not Christians. Barack and Jeremiah both once shared the admiration of Colonel Gadhaffi. Recently Barack has turned against his old friend, supporting his opposition, the boys of the hood - The Radical Muslim Brotherhood. Barack has been known to support both sides of any issue.
