WH Briefing in brief: Not yet election season

At Wednesday’s White House briefing, press secretary Jay Carney said the president still isn’t calling it election season yet, even if Mitt Romney is the apparent Republican nominee. Plus, more on the Buffett rule and North Korea’s potential test missile launch.

Not election season yet? Better get with it. I suspect that comment is just to keep the other side off their game. I guarantee you they will smear the President and his family at every opportunity and Romney and wife lack spines, like McCain had, to correct the misinformation overload that is coming. So the President's campaign staff better stay awake.

Think Progress:

Forget appealing to independents, Mitt Romney has major gaps in his base, a new Gallup poll finds. The presumed GOP presidential nominee is struggling among Midwesterners, young voters, the highly religious, and conservative Republicans.

It's election season for Mitt. He has nothing else to do.

No, Obama says its not election season so he can fly around the country giving campaign speeches and have us foot the bill because he SAYS it's not a campaign speech.

Fools nobody, but you would not expect a network that doctors audio tapes in order to foment racial unrest to call him on it, would you?

By the way, the WaPo called him on his invoking Reagan

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/president-obama-quoting-reagan-out-of-context/2012/04/11/gIQAaOsZBT_blog.html?wprss=rss_fact-checker

What do you expect from a man who lied about his own dying mother? The truth about anything at all?

no joe, that's some governor you have there in New Jersey. Lying through his teeth, like all Republicans. Jobs? Who needs jobs? His speech yesterday was pathetic. He's nothing but a fat bully.

And the person who edited the tape was fired. It was journalists at NBC who insisted on it. And that's because they're what you would call - real journalists.

Go back to Fox, where you feel right at home with the tv hosts who represent exactly what the dumbing down of America has done to people in this country.

Hey Pat, how do you know the person was fired?

Got a name? Got an NBC report about it?

If you do I would like to see it.

You folks and your Fox News talking point is really, really, stale. You need to get together and come up with something else.

Let's all get upset about upsetting Ann Romney, okay? The couple, early in their marriage, who when they were low on cash, just sold stock.

Meanwhile,

Think Progress:

Foster Friess, the billionaire conservative donor who almost single-handedly funded the Super PAC backing Rick Santorum and has now vowed to support Mitt Romney, made a joke about an assassination attempt on President Obama. In an interview on Fox Business, Friess said, “There are a lot of things that haven’t been hammered at because Rick and Mitt have been going at each other. Now that they have trained their barrels on President Obama, I hope his teleprompters are bullet-proof.” In a follow-up interview with ABC, he said he regretted the remark.

This guy will now support Romney. Sick SOBs, all of them.

My governor? You mean Christie? Who says what he thinks and has a 59% approval rating in a blue state?

Yeah, I can understand your governor envy.

So, tell me, Pat, what's the NAME of the person NBC supposedly fired? And why, since the full tape was available, did no one stop to say- hey, this version makes it sound like a racist statement was being made, when clearly, it was not.

Why no on-air apology? Why no full acceptance of responsibility?

CNN corrected its misinterpretation of what was heard on the tape ON AIR.

ABC corrected its misinterpretation of what was seen on video ON AIR. That's what professional journalists do- their corrections are as public as their original errors.

This? It's pretty hardto cut up an audio tape accidentally. Nope, this is a lot more like Dan Rather's deliberate use of patently phony documents.

They may be playing cutesy among themselves, but they are paying in the court of public opinion. That's where it hurts.

It will especially hurt Obama- every news report on his awesome wonderfulness will be seen through the lens of this disgraceful action. CBS fired Dan Rather and the producer responsible for that phony story. If NBC does less, they pay the price.

Even the RWNJ's hero's website has reported it!

Excerpted from John Sexton’s piece in Breitbart.com’s Big Journalism: The NBC producer responsible for the misleading edit of the George Zimmerman’s 911 call has been fired. The producer was reportedly fired Thursday, but the firing did not hit the press until this Friday evening, just before a holiday weekend. NBC News had no comment on the firing.

I have yet to see an Obama campaign ad with lies in it. Romney's first ad edited a statement of the President out of context to say the exact opposite of what he said and he has continued from there, up to and including yesterdays' misstatements about the impact of the recession on women. There is a big difference between honestly stating one's positions and lying.

Well, my racist friend, you could include women, seniors, union workers, minorities, and moderates among President Obama's constituency. When you think about it, all the GOP has left among its supporters are the shrill snivelers of the right wing lunatic fringe and a handful of neo-nazi militias. It is definitely not enough to push Etch-A-Sketch over the top, but it might be just enough to nudge the GOP over the edge!

            from cnsnews-

Speaking Friday at what the administration called “The White House Forum on Women and the Economy,” President Barack Obama said that after his two daughters were born, he and his wife—both Harvard Law School graduates—could not afford the “luxury” of having her stay home with the children.

Cause see the Obamas required the nearly $500k/year that their dual incomes brought in to just "scrape by".

I wonder if the folks on the right realize how petty it makes them seem to constantly rail about the President doing campaigning at their expense. How petty to treat the President as if he must punch a time clock and account for his time when he takes the time to be with his family or have some recreation or run for office. And do they think that the White House doesn't have procedures to account for the costs of his travel? Oh, I forgot---they begrudge him the use of Air Force One.

Did they say anything when George Bush did all the same things? Of course not.
