Mitt Romney voiced support on Thursday for women being allowed to join the storied Augusta National Golf Club.
A reporter shouted a question to Romney while he was working the ropeline following an event in Pennsylvania about whether women should be able to join the club, which is the home of the annual golf tournament, The Masters.
"Well of course," Romney said. "I'm not a member of Augusta. I don't know if I would qualify -- my golf game is not that good -- but certainly if I were a member and if I could run Augusta which isn't likely to happen but of course I'd have women in Augusta. Sure."
The question to Romney came after the White House said Thursday morning that President Obama supports women being allowed to join the course.
The line of questioning comes amid scrutiny of the club's policy in light of IBM's hiring of Ginni Rometty as its CEO. The CEO of IBM has traditionally enjoyed a membership at Augusta, where the Masters are being played this weekend.

Uhhh...Was this before or after you were against it?
Or was it before or after President Obama voiced his support and you realized "Hey this will fit in with the 'real views' i'm supposed to construct before the general!"
What a loser.
Hey, who doesn't like a good-looking woman caddy?
Why is anyone surprised?
Apparently, not to mention ironically, golf club membership is the only woman's issue that a one-percenter can relate to.
Romney said that President Obama spent too much time at Harvard trying to paint the President as out of touch.
Romney’s problem is that he used to brag about graduating from Harvard with two degrees . Also he was a student there one year longer than Obama.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o401f-jKJLo&feature=player_embedded
Hey it's Romulan Romney... he'll flip flop on this one too...you just wait until tomorrow...
We all know he'll say everything and anything to get elected. This man has no core. No beliefs...
They say most politicians will bend on their beliefs to get elected and I completely agree with that, even President Obama tends to bend sideways from his core to get votes.... but Romney's a blank slate (etch a sketch) - he's whatever you want him to be on that hour.. then he's someone else the next
Once his handlers let him know that the Prez already reflected the same opinion, he'll be flopping soon.
An all fairness this was a quick answer Mr. Romney gave to a random question shouted to him. I am sure he was aware of Mr. Obama's statements earlier in the day, but it all seems kinda meaningless to me.
Focus, voting people!
Yes ole Flip will change his mind if one of his money backers yells at him about this new stance.
Has anyone ever seen Obama golfing with a woman?
Anna Molly,
Yup, those private clubs will get you every time. I remember when they had a women's lounge when you came into a private club. You could not eat in the grill without a male escort, and Tuesday was ladies day on the course.
Many rich widows kept the family membership after hubby died, they always took the dues and the change came slowly.
Good point JAS...
This White House particularly early on was known for being a tough place to work if you were a woman. Insiders said it was downright hostile. And we saw how sexist of a campaign he ran against Hillary.
But oh well free pass because it's O-B-A-M-A.
On another note....
As much as the moonbats like to criticise the Ryan budget plan, check out where Obama's budget takes us...
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obamas-budget-interest-payments-will-exceed-defense-budget-2019_635445.html
Here's the fault in your statement about who plays with the president. He plays on courses that allow women.
Has anyone ever seen Obama golfing with a white Hispanic?
But not just with him.
Hey wait a minute what is a presidential candidate doing voicing an opinon on private clubs. He must have something more important to do. Sound familiar those on the right. Whats good for goose after all.
Presidential candidates usage of this issue aside, it does indeed place the Agusta National boys in an intriguiging pickle. Will Ms. Rometty get her jacket? Will it be no jacket - no money? Will they reach a compromise? Will pigs fly? Stay tuned, film at 11:00!
JAS1 what race is orange, I know he has played with orange a couple times
Last time I saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it.
There are probably a lot of different types of people I have never played with. At least, as a woman, I was allowed on the course. And I usually pick to play in a foursome with people I know, get along with and can have a good time with - I don't choose my foursome to appease the opposition party. (And I do prefer to play with people who don't mind all my shots in the sand and water)
White Hispanic
White Hispanic and Latino Americans are citizens and residents of the United States who are racially White and ethnically Hispanic or Latino.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Hispanic_and_Latino_Americans
In a twist to notions of race identity, new 2010 census figures show an unexpected reason behind a renewed growth in the U.S. white population: more Hispanics listing themselves as white in the once-a-decade government count.
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2011/sep/29/census-hispanics-fuel-us-white-population-growth/
Oh, Oh, Williard thinks women should have the same rights as men!
You're gonna regret that Willard!
Has anyone ever seen Obama play golf with a white Asian?
Now what about obama. Is he a white african american?
It's all so confusing.
Jas 1 has anyone seen you play with a man.
Isn't it? We need to update those Race lists on the census forms. Probably need about 250 different classifications.
What will the Democrats do without their identity politics?
And i'm pretty sure he's not talking about golf.
BFD, seriously? Too late Romney, we have the video of you saying you'll repeal "Obamacare" and end Planned Parenthood too. The Teapublican War on Women cannot be erased with an Etch-a-Sketch.
According to Mittens, words have no consequences. They can always be taken back.
If only I could convince the wife of that...
JoAnnaSmith,
You have a point, but personally I think it probably has more to do with being shown up?
Btw - Can you imagine a one-on-one on the basketball court with Sarah Palin?
A black man that couldn't even start on his little high school private prep school team against the point guard / co-captain of a state high school championship team?
The funny part about this thread is that the question was whether or not Romney felt women should be allowed to join Augusta.
Romney didn't answer .... he stated what he would do if he was in control.
The fact is that Romney is not in charge and won't have to make that decision.
Romney fails to address whether he feels a private club does / doesn't have the right to make its own decision.
A skillful dodge .... went right over the lib's heads.
Mitt's attempt to win back women voters--only he waited until it was safe, knows the conservative base won't have a problem with women being members of golf clubs, and after President Obama made a statement just to be sure. Sorry, Mitt, we have very long memories.
There! See? He's just an average guy, concerned about the REAL issues that women face every day.
lol...
Oh Mitts - too little - too damned late! I'm sure he thinks that will get him a vote or two - wrong!!!!
JoAnna - if he played with a woman all of you right wing nut jobs would be saying he was having an affair with her. It's the stupidity that defines you!
TO: bob-1805084 who wrote:
Let me tell you what keeps going over YOUR head: He's not our candidate, and we've already made our decision about Romney -- We're NOT voting for him.
We already know that Romney support's the Ryan Plan AND Romney is already signed on with Grover Nordquist, which makes Romney NOT eligible to serve the American People because he's already signed a contract to represent ONLY the top 1% wealthiest.
Obama / Biden 2012
Augusta National is in Georgia. They are still trying to figure out why Negros get to eat in white restaurants, use white bathrooms and sit where they want on the bus.
American ZGirl,
So do you support the Obama budget, because that would make you a 1% as that is the percentage of people who are in favor of it
This makes up for the women's rights ignorance by the right. Women can play golf with us if they can afford the fees to get in here. Does that mean they are privileged and their form of birth control will be a golf ball between the knees.
If you want birth control than pay for it. Or better yet have your partner pay for it. Everyone complains about how much health care costs. Then complains that it does not cover everything. Make up your mind.
There is no war on women by the GOP. I personally like women. I also like women who speak there minds. Women can play on the course they just have to be with a male member. The question is should they be able to get a member ship directly. I am sure at some point they will. Not being a golfer or a women, i do not really care one way or the other.
OUwhine,
Did you know that there is between 1 million and 1.3 million abortions a year in the United States?
American Girl.
The 1 percent-er as you call them allow you to have a computer. Live in a house, drive a car, travel by air, and have a curling iron for your hair.
Also President Obama is a 1 percent-er, and you seem to support him?!
I'm not a Romney fan, and I plan to vote for Obama, but I have to say I agree with his statement. Can't we just take him at his word for a change and move on.
The term "hispanic" was invented by the Nixon White House for the 1970 Census. Does anyone know why? Before then, they were considered "white" mostly.
"Now what about obama. Is he a white african american?"
Who cares??? It's no more important than if his eyes are brown or blue.
Rob in ma says:
... check out where Obama's budget takes us...
and points to a site that shows interest on the national debt will exceed defense spending by 2019.
What he neglects to show is where most of that debt comes from. Between 2000 and 2008 America doubled its national debt. Where the hell did that come from? Not from increased entitlement spending. No, that came from a Republican president and Republican majority in both houses of Congress (6 out of those 8 years) spending like drunken sailors. Entitlement spending during that time remained fairly flat.
At the end of those 8 years, the economy crashed, due mostly to the bad economic policies of the preceding 8 years. Then entitlement spending rose in the form of unemployment benefits. Face it, if we had an administration that promoted fiscal sanity, economic growth and a healthy economy for 8 years of the Bush administration, we wouldn't be in the economic toilet that we are right now.
But that's all Republican failures are excusable, B-U-S-H gets a free pass. And the only way to fix it is to hand the reins of power back to the idiots who created this economic mess in the first place.
Only if US voters are really that stupid! Obama in 2012!
subnormal -- We see you got your Reince Pribus RNC talking points -- Reince twice and shampoo again -- because the Dems and the media wouldn't be talking about attacks on caterpillars, er uh, women (compared to insects, really?) if the Teapublicans would stop passing laws against women's rights.
You would think after the ultrasound fiasco, rejection of "personhood" legislation, and the Blunt-Rubio amendment, the GOP/TP idiots would let up. But Noooo, they are still at it trying to pass bills against abortions in the case of rape/incest, and regulating abortion clinics out of existence as of today!
Per your moniker, you missed the part about birth control being paid for with insurance premiums, so it's NOT for free--just without a co-pay, and that's not factoring deductibles either. In the meantime, Viagra is covered by insurance, and men pay less for their health care.
Teapublicans (you ignorant sluts), if you don't want to be accused of a War on Women, then STOP it!
EEngineer - those are the facts, but they don't fit nicely into the RWNJ dream world so they can just call 'liberal media' and that negates everything that doesn't blame Obama. Done.
THis stanceshows that Romney isfirmly inline with what's realllyimportant tothe average working woman in today's soceity-a golf membership at an elite club! Way to go Mitt!! THe man of the people!
The GOP/TP is scraping the bottom of the barrel for voters, but they have a problem, the barrel is almost empty !
This is an example of a Republican "throwing a bone."
JAS,
Gimmie a break. This isn't about who, personally the candidates choose to golf with. It's about an institution, the good 'ol boy network, and the relevance and power thereof.
A lot of my guy friends don't call me up for basketball games or golf games, but they do allow me in the door of the gyms and clubs they play at.
Everyone Else,
I'm really surprised we haven't heard a backlash from the right about Romney's comment, screaming about "private membership" and being too "PC".
Could it be they're learning???
No, no, what am I thinking. I'm sure they'll come out with some more vaginal probing laws to counter this.
Panderer, thy name is Romney.
What a surprise ex-Gov Romoney is beginning to shake his Etch-A-Sketch(EAS)! I suppose his poll numbers with women are scaring the crap out of him. He best start shaking his EAS vigorously for the Hispanics, Independents and assorted voters with rational minds if he wants to have a scintilla of a chance of winning. Now, as for the RWNJ's it all depends on their ability to forget he is a Mormon, Champion Flip-Flopper, moderate repubbie and lastly a moron(for repubbies thats not a stretch but rather their modus operandi).
Subnormal.
The 1 percenters "allow" us to have computers, etc.
What a revealing comment.
So, jas1, have you ever played golf AS a man?
That's about as relevant as the stupid crap you spew on a regular basis.
This is your economy.
This is your economy on Obama.
Any questions?
John — i'm damn glad we have a Presdident who understands the office is more complicated than setting the price of gasoline at a conveninece store. Obama has done wonderfullly welll with the hand hes been dealt. I look fowrward to four more yaers of responsible governamnce. Nuff said
OMG!!!! He actually agreed with President Obama. I know all you right wingers out there are hyperventilating right now but don't worry because your man Mitt Romney is like the weather in Austin Texas, wait ten minutes and it'll change.
What Romney thinks of women's roles in our world will have to reflect his party's attitude toward women. The Repubs will tell women anything to get their votes and then turn on them again like they have done in Republican state legislatures.
Women will never trust Republicans again for generations or forever! They have pulled the rug out from under us too many times.
RepubliCONS: Enough is enough.
(As for Republican women? that says it all: Republican women)
Trust a Republican? Women do not!
While it may be some folks don't like the men only attitude from Augusta, they have the right to do as they please. Private clubs can do as they please about membership.
When i was a kid I remember The Italian American Club stricktly for men legally was not required to allow anyone not Italian. Women have the same right to have exclusive clubs or businesses. Only if a business is not private and open to the public are they not allowed to discriminate.
I am for total integration in the public realm but people still can do as they please as private entities.
Having said that, there was a time when Augusta discriminated agains men that were not all white. Lee Trevino refused to play there and later when he did, he hung out with the caddies to show his displeasure.
Sammy Davis Jr. and other entertainers were not allowed to stay in the hotels where they entertained that were open to the public. That era is over. However, private is still meant to be private.
At least Romney, who never went to Harvard Law School, knows the Constitution. He never even implied that women have a "right" to join a private men's club any more than girls have a right to join the Boy Scouts or boys have a right to join the Girl Scouts. That's refreshing after THIS week !!!
Maybe I'm just too picky, but I can't even stand Romney's approach, much less his opinion.
They asked him about women in Augusta and he responds with crap about HIS golf game and if HE was a member or if HE was running the course... and finally ends with his answer after giving himself a minute of BS to think about it.
I bet he thinks he went out on a huge presidential limb on this one. What a joke.
A story that leads you into why you support something or not is both appropriate and important. Obama does it better than most. McCain isn't bad at it either. Reagan was a master. But Romney can't seem to tell a supporting story... maybe because the basis for his so-called "beliefs" are deeply tucked away behind his right earlobe, never to be found.
Pay attention. His stories are always empty.
Mitt Romney is completely devoid of original thought. He's just the ticket for the republican elite who are really running the show. Romney, to them, is just a puppet who can be easily manipulated to do their bidding. Take a look behind the curtain to see who's pulling the strings.
Boo: You are as unspecific on detail as is Obama. Who do you think is "pulling the strings". This is a free country, you have freedom of speech, you can tell us.
As a woman myself I think women should bow=out of even trying to be in the Augusta Golf games. That is a man's world, has been for many many years. 1 woman will be the last of that great Game series. We women have our game's that no man is wanted and I don't see any man trying to get space in a news paper wanting to join us. We would just laugh him out.
Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden.
I just wonder what Romney has to say about the economy and the deficit?
@Chris (#1.16),
"Last time I saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it."
Hey, leave Michelle out of this!!
Allison Do you really want to debate that issue? Cause the president surely is not capable of managing any type of financial issue and would be mopped up by romney in that arena
So what's next from willard - i suppose he's going to be in favor of women holding the mormon priesthood and becoming goddesses over their own planets in the next life???
Ssmike,
I don't think anyone with half a brain could look at anyone's budget plan and say, "Yeah, I agree 100% with that plan." What most of us that actually think, instead of just watch Faux News would agree on is that we agree more with Obama's budget than the republican budget. This is part of being liberal and supporting the democrats. We are not just going to fall in line like a brain dead Sean Hannity and support anything a democrat does or agree 100% with what a democrat says. What we can say is that it's certainly better than what the republicans can come up with.
mearly: you need some bright pink Hello Kitty bandaids for them there knuckles....
You can't even spell "governance", "president", "years" or "well".
-30 points for spelling Mr. Obama child.
PROVIDED they meet the financial qualification and first submit to a mandatory 'probe'.
What does Mitt care? He doesn't golf there.
Hey it's romulan... he'll flip flop on any issues...you just wait until tomorrow
Agreed, he probably didn't get the memo that the President's spokesman already came out with the same opinion. He'll have to change his mind here shortly, can't be seen agreeing with the President.
With the country running so smoothly, plentiful jobs, balanced budget, low unemployment, no more terrorism, and with great legal, efficient and well run/funded entitlement programs, we should get Congress working on legislation to allow women to be members at Augusta.
Well, the Congress has been pretty busy voting on what to name post offices and such.
Phine,
Congress is on a two week vacation... again
Northstar,
And we all know how hard they work! LOL!
Not to mention how women's vaginas would be cared for (or not). So What's the deal Smiffy?
You know, you should play with Dr. Beeper and myself. I mean, he's been club champion for three years running and I'm no slouch myself.
JoannaSmith1 -- Congress is too busy creating laws that force women to have expensive unnecessary heathcare procedures.
And I am surprised JoannaSmith that you prefer to take a political view rahter than a view that is beneficial to your own gender. I guess you are one of those people that think that just because it doesn't harm you, it's OK. Hope you don't have any grandaughters that might have to endure a vaginal probe or an ultrasound after being raped.
Don't sell tourself short Chris, You're a tremendous slouch.
So, what's the initial initation fee at Augusta? How about yearly fees? The internet says $25K to $50K.
For most women, and even for a good percentage of men, membership at Augusta is moot, no matter who they allow as members, and no matter who President Obama has or hasn't golfed with.
It's a well kept secret, but wiki says the yearly fee is rumored to be $10,000. I don't believe there is any initiation fee.

Obama / Biden 2012
WTF cares? Romney is an azzkizzer and will lie, cheat and steal whenever he gets the chance.
too bad he's not smart enough to offer women "equal salaries and pay", but all this dumbazz can offer is admission to a freaking golf course.
What a joke this man is.
Obama 2012
Ramboet,
My ex wife had that for our last child, if give better definition for the ultra sound. The only reason I can think of for them to request it is to better determine the age of the fetus.
Look up how many abortions a year there are. I am pro-choice, but I do think that it is a waste. There are some pretty good methods of birth control out there.
JOKE - Looks like Romney got his genitals mixed up with golf balls ?
That's not the only thing Mitt has mixed up !
Yaaaaawwwwwnnnn...
Its called pandering, and both of them are doing it. No surprise.
Isn't this a pathetic display of political correctness? A pox on both of them.
Maybe the Chairman of Augusta should tell Obama and Romney to spend a little time on coming up with a way to balance the budget.
With all due respect, I don't know how you call it pandering on either side when a reporter shouts a question at you and you answer it.
How about by responding "Are there any more serious questions?"
Rule 101 in campaigning: Try not to alienate the press corp covering you. So if they ask a question, answer it. Don't respond with a snarky "Are there any more serious questions?"
Hey everybody, we're all gonna get laid.
Good point, phine. A candidate looks really good when they can take ANY question thrown at them and provide a quick, relevant answer.
Both Obama and Romney working hard to win the women vote, and I question their sincerity.
If I sound jaded, its only because I am.
Obama just got done lecturing the media on how to report Obamacare. Did so in his little speech telling the Supreme Court what to do earlier in the week.
The media deserves to be scorned. As one example, NBC just altered the 911 call in the Zimmerman/Martin case, and they just presented a two line "apology" after an "internal investigation". Another example is in the GOP debates, CNN opens up with a marriage/divorce question for Gingrich. How does that question get on the list, let alone at the top of the list? The media are full of themselves, they think they are the stars and purveyors of knowledge. They're a bunch of dimwitted activists with BA degrees in Journalism. They don't have a clue.
Like dogs, the media needs to be trained.
JoAnnaSmith1,
You forgot about NBC and CNN. They both had to make an apology for basically the same thing.
Now that bimbo Palin can golf with the boys, did you know she can hit a golf ball from Alaska to Russia !
I bet she can suck one through a garden hose.
To late Mittens, women already know your a jerk off
This is good stuff. I got it from a Negro. You're probably high already and you don't even know it.
Ahh...Caddyshack. Now that was a great movie. Something i think Red and Blue can agree on.
Rather be anything but a Republican
even an unemployed union member?
He could be an employed traitor that outsources Detroit jobs to China for personal profit right JOS1? You sure are a hard working patriot. It must take some work ethic for you to do that job.
Now, this is REALLY news - isn't it? VERY important. Very big deal. Gloria All Red where are you? Who-ray for Roe v Wade. A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle. Gloria Steinham where are you? Burn your bras, ladies. What are you waiting for, guys shouldn't have clubs women can't get into. Brow beat those guys. Get IBM to withdraw its support if they won't let that woman that's the new CEO into the club. Whack 'em. Sue 'em. Think of all the things they're doing in there women don't know about. Can't have that, can we?
No men's clubs! No men's clubs! No men's clubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good news for President Obama!
Consumer confidence climbed last week to the highest level in four years and unemployment claims fell, pointing to a brighter job market that may invigorate the U.S. economy.
Oh, this your wife, huh? A lovely lady. Hey baby, you must've been something before electricity.
Tommy,
and the easter bunny is coming on sunday!!!
Well at least you put that "may" in there. Hey I hope it gets better. Mostly because we do not need to print any more money.
I wonder how the White house is doing on their home work project. I cannot wait to read that.
From the same guy and church that allows 9 wives...........
hahahahahahahah seven2seven!
Ramboet? You hit the nail RIGHT on the head.... EXCELLENT post.
As for Romney? I'm sorry, but his attempt to bring women back to the 21st century after trying to knock them back to the 40's isn't going to work. WOMEN ARE SMART, THEY HAVE EARS AND MEMORIES LIKE NO ONE ELSE, AND THEY VOTE. They may not be allowed to join the 1%'s of stuffy men who belong to Augusta, but like others have said, they're trying to keep the federal government out of their vaginas, a much more pressing issue to them, and the future of all women.
To underestimate women in an election year, is to do so at your own peril.
Obama/Biden 2012
So, when President Obama says Augusta National should admit women as members, we hear the following:
...and...
So, are you equally offended now that Mr. Romney has made the same statement?
Who could care less what any politician or media wank says about Augusta or any other private club?
Do you think women should be members of Augusta? There is only one sensible answer: "That question can only be decided by the members."
Any opinion from an outsider is nonsense and blather.
Uh oh Shapes for women is doomed! Equal is equal.
Seriously, let the girls have their space and let the boys have their space!
I'd rather have health care.
If you are a female, and want health care, do this; study hard, achieve something in your profession, and you will be able to afford it. Until then, stop getting naked with jerks who care nothing for you or your unborn child. That's what I did, and I have health care. And I raised me daughters to see sexual activity as a responsibility, and that it was up to them to provide their own birth control, not the taxpayers.
I agree with tanna harrington and l don't need health care, but maybe she does ! PS - What is "me" daughters ? Could it be "my" ?
When you talk about healthcare, don't forget that males use healthcare as well. As far as the birth control issue goes, as long as people EXPECT that women are responsible for this alone, there will never be equality. Women don't get pregnant alone, but men get a free pass, and are not held accountable for it. I raised my son to know that he is as responsible for safety as well as any woman he chooses to have sex with. I wish he wouldn't but he needs to be a responsible person, not just a responsible man.
Hey, Bryan E: welcome back!
Romney followed up his statement saying while women should be allowed into the club, they should be forced to watch an informational video on the importance and historical legacy of the club and will need to pass a morality panel interview held by a "elder council of Christian men".
His wife nodded her approval as she was not yet given permission to speak.
Excellent!
Sure, they should be allowed to join a Men's Club, but damn if they should be allowed to make their own reproductive decisions! Right, Mitt?
What a pandering douche.
OMG Jim, thanks so much for the LOL!!!! Happy Easter!
You see these are the bold ideas and big changes that a President Romney might propose. He might propose adding a little hot sauce to those cheesey grits. And he will state that women should get the same pay for the same work that men do. And he will say that he loves America, and that he loves his wife and his children. He is also saying that "legal" immigration is a good thing. He will soon state that illegal immigration is a bad thing. But he will never propose anything very substantive about immigration. He likes Wisconsin. He likes the fight song "On Wisconsin." His dad loved Wisconsin too. Soon he will say that he loves and his dad loved Pennsylvania. It is all so bland and so banal. Except he gets all pumped up about what a failure Obama is and how Obama hates business and proposes all that red tape regulation. Obama is a terrible leader and a socialist - just like Jimmy Carter (the Nobel Peace Prize winner) was a socialist and a failed leader. And gasoline could be dirt cheap if only Obama didn't stop the drilling. And he'll bring those gas prices down - by allowing drilling everywhere. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.
Beyonddemocrat,
What exactly did President Obama get the peace price for? He was not even in office yet.
I agree Mitt is a joke, but well I will still vote for him over President Obama.
subnormal - Thus your moniker speaks for itself.
I do think men need women free time, and women need men free time. An all man or all woman event has a different atmosphere. We all need these times, even if we are heterosexual!
Who really considers the Nobel Peace Prize to be prestigious anymore?
Subnormal, well, at least you can say, "I tried" as your candidate goes back to the drawing board after he's creamed in November and says, "I could have SWORN the etch a sketch told me to say that".
Let's not forget who created the mess that Obama has been fought with by the GOP his entire time in office to try to correct. Handing the reins back to the GOP would make no more sense than putting a cock in a hen house. No thank you.
Women unite. Obama/Biden 2012
They should be able to join Augusta but not have health care. What an absolute FOOL! He must take women to be complete idiots to fall for this silly shi# !
I think you missed the point of the health care argument - drinking the kool-aid maybe? I say, don't work for an organization or go to school at a college where you can't accept their beliefs and practices.
Grumpy Old McCain, I agree 110 % with you ! The GOP/TP must think all women in this country are fools. I'm a life long Repub and I'm jumping the ship. The tea people destroyed my party.
And...the swing to the left begins. He will be a moderate in three weeks.
He could become a full blown lib and I still wouldn't vote for him!
He wouldn't mean it, Alaska Girl. Just an Etch-a-Sketch.
WTH does a president or candidate have to do with Augusta and why is it important? How did this question come up; Hey Mr. President, the economy sux, housing market is terrible but het what about Augusta But since we went there I say sure, let them join and let them play in the Masters. Let's also let men play on the LPGA Tour, let boys join the girl scouts and lets find some other insignificant sories to put in the news. The taxpayers are paying the presidents salary and I think we deserve to see him doing something constructive instead of dealing with some of the wall issue.
jr1943--/I agree with your first three sentences, but then you continued with the meaningless answer to an inane question .
Okay, no more private clubs! They don't treat everyone as equal. No more girl scouts, no more male baritones exclusively. Now we need some female linebackers. Oh where does it end? The Catholic church must have male Nuns, female priests. The Masons must allow women, etc, etc. Actually, don't we have some real problems? Gas over four bucks. Afghanistan war without end. Our young people being used as canon fodder, crooked politics and finance, yet some twits whine about the "unfairness" of an exclusive golf club!
It is a PRIVATE club. Men like to go there for peace and quite. Can't get that with wives tagging along.
Leroy -- it's very clear you don't know crap about Augusta National. Women are allowed to play the course. They are allowed to stay on the cabins, eat at the restaurants, drink in the bar, and use the pro shop. Your ignorance is showing --- again.
From Wikipedia:
Chairman Billy Payne refused to discuss the club's continued refusal to admit women in his 2012 pre-Masters press conference.
'nuff said!
when you say canon fodder, are you referring to some religious issue?
I guess there are no more sacred places for men to hang out without women wanting to crash the party.
The only reason Romney is weighing in is becasue the GOP is having problems with women.
I love women and all, but god dam it. Go build you're own golf course, and only allow women to play. I know there are women only gyms and clubs out there. Stop trying to put you're pussies all in the mix.
There's the mens room. You couldn't pay me enough money to step foot in the men's room! It's all yours and we women will never ask for membership! LOL
P.S. Your comment would have been much better without the derogatory word thrown in at the end. You almost made it.
I guess there are no more sacred places for men to hang out without women wanting to crash the party.
Closet homo there!
He didn't even come CLOSE to making it, thanks for the giggle though! Not an ounce of respect for women, yet who lugged him around in her body for nine months? Oh and Sean? Your derogatory remark at the end Alaskagirl pointed out? I'm guessing you won't be seeing one of those anytime soon. But hey, you've got your all-men's club to take care of your man needs, that is if you can afford to get in!
The only time Republicans defend women is when it's elite women. Not the middle class or poor women.
This isn't a story about abortions. We all know a woman has the right to run her baby through a food processor. This is about rules at a private club.
I know. It called an observation. That's all.
I like it better when we agree on Shiit. Like those POT CLUBS being raided. Have you heard any updates on that.
What fun would it be if we all agreed on shiit? I think it would be like having vanilla ice cream all the time. Nothing could be more boring. Now, what pot clubs are we talking about? That sounds much more interesting than golf any day of the week!
Obama said the raids would stop at the Cali pot clubs. But the feds Raided them again. Busting down doors and packing an army of IRS lawyers.
Jeez! Where the hell have I been! LOL I am going to have to go search this out. Raids and pot clubs? Sounds about right for Cali.
Remember, the first thing Osama al-Barack Hussein Obama Mohammed, II thinks about when he wakes up and the last thing before he goes to sleep is not to 3 putt. He don't need no stinking women golfers at his course.
Bob. He has 2 more names you got to work in there. Google them. BARI Shabazz and Barry Soetoro. But do Bari Shabazz first.
I also left out A-hole.
Bob - Its clear to everyone that you are one, but its your arrogant attitude that's sickening! Thanks for listening.
Why go golfing there if you can't escape your wife for a couple hours?
I can tell we all didn't win the Lotto! We are all still here and not at Augusta!
Romney, if you're not in the Augusta club keep your opinion out of the news. You're just a plastic politician patronizing women for votes.
Mitt needs to kiss a lot of female voter ass. That is an important voting block. He also needs to win over a few Hispanics. There is no way he gets the gay vote or the black vote. I think asians will back him though. And Jewish voters.
If he is successful, maybe the women will allow him to have some testicles....
Nope, the wife keeps those in her purse... along with his etch a sketch.
Why do people want to go where they are not wanted and pay to do so? Maybe with more women as CEOs they should have their own private club? Remember the CitAdel and VMI? Why not just create you own school or golg course with it own history? I could really care less or think it is a big deal in either case just do not see paying to be the out cast. It is not like anyone it going to rename the school or club and the 1st woman.
Good try Romney, do you really think that we (women) believe you. You should have taken a stand for women when Sandra Fluke was being attacked. Give me a break. Now that you got the nomination all tide up you think it is okay. Give me a break Etach-a-sketch!! Sometimes in life you have to take a stand and not be bullied into doing something that you know is wrong.
Oh, bitter woman. Sandra Fluke was used like a pawn in a man's game. If women would pay for their own contraception there would be no attack for hypocrisy.
Yes bitter woman – God made that little unit for our amusement and enjoyment and we must stay in complete control of it’s use.
Such a bold and couragous stance Mittens. So a softball question gets a yes and when Rush denegrates and demeans a young lady calling her a slut and tells women they have to make sex tapes and realease them to the public your couragous and bold stance is ,I wouldn't have used those words? How about harlot, lady of the evening, strumpet? They are much more Harvard grade descriptions. Notice he never disagreed with Rush?
Hey, Dock, I know you were right in there when Bill Maher, Jimmy Kimmel, and Ed Schulz were attacking conservative women. Anyway, let a man's club remain a man's club - men need time to themselves! Why doesn't some female golfer start a women's only club? We girls need our time, also. Maybe the Augusta club could have some women guest days, I don't know, but who cares?
If he either fires Rush Limpballs or sells his stock in the Limpballs company, that would be a good start!!!
Now that he doesn't have to kiss TeaBag a$$ anymore, it might be the right time to start putting pressure on him to do so...
Should Bill Maher, Ed Schulz, and Jimmy Kimmel also be fired, for their vile insults against conservative women?
Yes, they should. Start a petition.
