Obama agenda: JOBS Act signing

He’ll sign the JOBS Act today and view a screening of To Kill A Mockingbird, in its 50th anniversary. It airs Saturday on the USA Network, an NBC Universal owned cable channel, with an introduction by the president. He’ll then attend two campaign events in DC.

Obama – Trekie. A photo of Obama snapped with a Star Trek TV series legend is making the rounds with the fan base.

Is this another one of his ideas to create jobs at $4Million per job, just like the stimulus? Why not just give those jobless $4Million and be done with it, rather than going into the hands of his union bosses and his Wall Street pals.

Come to think of it, Obama does look a little like an "African American Spock" fron Star Trek. Cerainly his ideas on improving the plight of the jobless is somewhere way,way out there ........ where no man has gone before !

Friday fluff from MSDNC is useless. Where's the story on Obama having to explain his court comments to a federal judge in Texas ? Not newsworthy or not butt-ki$$ing enough for MCDNC ?

This is a typical Obama day.

It is like he doesnt desire to do the hard work necessary to be a real leader. He seemingly spends most of his time fundraising, doing TV promos, and playing golf.

Don't forget Bob that he met with the Muslim Brotherhood on Tuesday and today Egypt launched some missiles at Israel. I guess the meeting didn't go well?

Maybe after a hard day of work he can stop by Andrews and get a round of golf in?

He should push the Jobs Bill. I have not heard one GOP member even mention the word jobs without Tax cuts being part of the conversation. Just like after the depression the Gov. invested in infrastructure and our parents and grandparents helped to build a super power. The Presidents Jobs Bill which includes infrastructure would cost less than the proposed Tax Cuts the GOP is pushing so hard for. I don't care who you are or what you believe, cutting taxes absolutely contributes to the debt and deficit, aka Government Spending. At least if the Jobs bill put people to work they would be paying taxes and not on Gov entitlement programs and the more people that get jobs, more support jobs are created.

I do not understand all the people out here that believe that doing nothing for Jobs as we are doing, things are going to change. Do the same thing over and over and expect different outcomes is foolish.

I saw another MSNBC story that you could not comment on that said economist are confused how unemployment is down to 8.2% but the economy is slow. Simple explanation, once people get jobs and start to have disposable income and they spend money, the Economy grows. Middle class Americans spending money accounts for 70% of the American Economy, duh!

Robert,

Did the last 1.5 trillion create jobs? No.

8.2% unemployment does not include the 4 to 6% that have used up their unemployment insurance and have dropped out of the job market. Quit believing that the glass is half full, when it's not.

Dave, first what 1.5 Trillion?

a lot of jobs were NOT lost because of the bailouts if that is what you are referring to. 8.2% is a hell of a lot better than 9.3%, the numbers are coming down, slowly but they are. I know the conservatives do not want anything to get better until next year but too bad for talking points, things are getting better. Looks like a guaranteed 4 more years to finish the job that the recession interfered with.

Wow! A job's Bill, after three and a half years in office! Way to go Mister President! Way to go!

An introducton to "To kill a mockingbird"? What's the purpose behind that? The past is behind us, we want to concentrate on the future. That's why you were elected.
