Discuss this post

I am anxious to hear Andrea Mitchell's interview with the Secretary of State. Sometimes I feel we don't hear as much from Clinton as other members of the Obama administration or from previous Secretary of States. I have heard that Clinton is more of a team player than some who have held that office (Kissinger tops my list)

On a different note - I hope it is more in depth than a lot of the interviews I see on TV - it often feels like a speed dating interview 'cause they got three more waiting in the wings. I know today's audience and the show's format probably demands that ...... just saying ;~)

Also.. since I'm the only one here - I wish more of the shows would provide a transcript. Meet the Press does an excellent job. And I shouldn't complain about Chuck Todd's transcript -because I am thankful he not only provides a video of the show's guests, but a transcript... but - I'm sorry, I know the person who does the trancription probably doesn't have a lot of time and probably has been given a hundred other things to do in addition - but the transcription is just not as good of a job as I would like to see.

You know - that show has gone the extra mile, and here I am complaining. No good deed goes unpunished,eh?

Desperate not to lose their decades old ratings advantage over GMA, NBC's Today Show turns to

    Sarah Palin.

Liberal NBC shows a little flexibility, in its otherwise 24/7 pro-Obama tilt...

      Bob! - think about this.

You know who the really substantive conservative pundits are better than I do. Who among them do you admire their opinion and would like to hear from? How does Sarah Palin rank with them on ability to give a reasoned argument? How would Sarah do as opposed to George Will?

If you wanted to showcase to your liberal audience how bright the conservative thinker is - who would you choose?

If you wanted to go head to head with some other new show in the ratings game - who would you go with?

I bet you if you put two Fight Night opponents on and whatever heavy duty political thinkers on (liberal or conservative) the fight night would get more viewers.

What is the goal of NBC?

Bob - NBC has done a disservice to conservatives. What will Palin do - reinforce liberal views of conservatives in a positive or negative manner?

This is not a good thing for either side.

Here is NBC's take on barrys comments on Trayvon Martin. I have a son, not by michelle, who looks like Trayvon Martin. And my son just like Trayvon loves skittles and beer, I mean ice tea and neither would do anything wrong. My son's best friend is a white mexican, I mean hispanic, therefore we are firm believers in race relations. ROTFLMFAO Rot in hell derrick bell, fiesty get off your fat ass and get your on popcorn.

James - regarding my opinion that Clinton is a team player. I know that there were White House staff that felt Clinton might not be a team player because she had been an opponent in the primaries and that there was the potential of her running in 2012. But I feel she has gone out of her way to make sure that she pursues the President's agenda rather than have any of her statements be perceived as a game play for future political gain.

When I spoke of her being a team player within the administration, I was speaking mainly about her relationship with the military, with whom she has been aligned with from the start. She and Army General Keane go back to her days as a senator from New York. She was on the Armed Services Committee and West Point was in her district.

She and Secretary of Defense Gates were partners on many of the discussions involving the military. She was one of the first to back McChrystal's plans and numbers. Petraeus has said that she was a powerful, persuasive advocate of the military, particularly concerning Afghanistan.

And when I referred to Kissinger,I was not talking about the quality of his performance. I feel Clinton is about to enter her testing ground,so I will wait to make any judgement on her performance. I happen to think Kissinger is one of the best Secretaries of State that we have had. Who else could have accomplished as much as he did.His diplomacy with our -as Romney says,"no.1 geopolitical foes" - was masterful.

But I was talking about their persona. Come on James, what other Secretary of State was a celebrity in their own right as Kissinger was, what other Secretary of State had such an out sized ego and such bold ideas? What other Secretary of State won a Nobel Peace prize? (don't quote me on that one) I really would like your opinion. Not as a challenge, but because I love to hear other people's opinion on the dynamics. Who do you think was a team player and who do you think was a "star" in their own right? (Not who was the best in performance.) I mean, it's gotta be Kissinger.

        Katheryn Brandy -- Agreed.

It's all about ratings. Heaven forbid interviews go beyond the typical attention span, or worse beyond the typical depth of understanding about issues. Andrea has done a good job of scooping stories these days though.

And Hillary Clinton is the best at cracking the glass ceiling, possibly breaking it in 2016 and finally having our first female POTUS -- If not her, there are many females who are rising stars in the Democratic Party. (The GOP/TP women like Palin, Bachmann, etc. are an insult to their gender).
