APPLETON, WI -- Mitt Romney might not have formally wrapped up the Republican nomination, but his speech here on Friday sounded more like a late-October general election pitch than a primary candidate's plea.
The 24-minute speech to an auditorium filled with supporters and Lawrence University students, the Republican frontrunner delivered a rebuilt stump speech which dissected the Obama administration's economic record and made no mention of, or allusion to, any other Republican candidate seeking the White House.
Romney, looking visibly rested after a weekend at his home in La Jolla, CA and a relatively light schedule of mostly fundraising events this week, stayed tightly bound to his economics-first thesis, and repeatedly hit the president for expanding the powers of government at the expense of free enterprise.
"Under President Obama, America hasn't been working. The ironic tragedy is that the community organizer who wanted to help those hurt by a plant closing became the President on whose watch more jobs were lost than any other time since the great Depression," Rommey said. "And instead of doing everything possible to promote the power of the free enterprise system, to create jobs and get us out of this crisis, Barack Obama has promoted the power of government. And the results have been predictable and dismal."
Romney also accused the president of "certainly" failing to lead the nation's economic recovery, and described what he said was the creation of a "government centered society," in which business and success are vilified, and the government's powers are wielded to "reshape the society into something that is more fashionable and politically correct."
It wasn't just the speech itself that lent today's event a general-election feel. Romney was introduced at the event by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the fourth leading figure in the Republican party (after Sen. Marco Rubio, Jeb and George Bush) to step off the sidelines in the last two weeks and back Romney's candidacy in hopes of ending the primary fight.
Security was also noticeably enhanced, with attendees and media all passing through metal detectors, and reporters' bags searched thoroughly by hand (a first) and checked by K9 units.
Previous efforts by Romney at delivering a broad, candidacy-defining speech have been marred by scene-stealing bad optics (see: Ford Field) or lackluster delivery. Neither were at issue today, as Romney delivered prepared remarks more confidently than usual off a tele-prompter, and was backed by a field of American and Wisconsin flags, neatly framed for television cameras.
Bruising attacks on President Obama's record aside, Romney closed on a hopeful tone, asking supporters to "join me" and "walk together this Tuesday," promising a future in which "the help wanted signs can be dusted off and we can start again."
The Obama campaign wasn't content to let the speech stand by itself, though.
"Mitt Romney’s latest attempt to pivot to the general election offered little in the way of new solutions and more of the misleading rhetoric that has become par for the course for him. Whether he is willfully ignoring the facts or rooting for failure, Mitt Romney’s speech overlooked key facts about the economic progress we’ve made under President Obama’s leadership. From 24 straight months of private sector job creation to a thriving automobile industry that is creating hundreds of thousands of jobs to lower taxes for every working family, the president’s decisive actions over the past three years have begun to pay off," Obama campaign spokesman Lis Smith said in a statement.

$4 BILLION PER DAY.
Seems like Obama is on top of it.
What could go wrong?
I can't wait for the President to slam this guy with the facts! How about reminding Romney and those of his ilk that it was their party in charge when the economy crashed, causing the Great Recession!
Romney's grasping at straws using old material. Nothing new or interesting here folks. Just the same old BS talking points! But what do expect from the party of no solutions!
Compared to his own budget or the Ryan budget @
$3.98 billion a day.
Actually Don't carry it all - you are incorrect. The party in charge in 07 was the democrats. They held majorities in both the house and the senate. They passed continuing resolutions to increase their spending. The two people in charge of the banking and the financial services committee were Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. You can argue all you want about Bush being in charge, but he was only 1/3 of the government... the other two thirds were in charge of spending and that's why the system crashed.
Ah Dennis - how about Obama's budget?
You know the one that never balances?
Yeah, that seems like a great idea,
Why I bet that's exactly how you run your own business [if you have one] and household.
Dennis - are you pro deficit? If you are not, how do you support Obama? How do you support Reid's decision to never have a budget?
It's stinky, right Dennis?
We can assume you are, and have always been solvent?
So why is wanting our government to be solvent so strange to you?
US Budgets are based on assumptions. Ryan’s is based on unemployment falling below 3% which is lower that it has been in over 40 years … so do you trust his assumptions, his budget?
I do not
Hey Brianb -- Cheers! I have a great article for you.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46880164/ns/health-mens_health/#.T3ZUoHgqND0
Read it and go have a drink on me. Lighten up, it's Friday. Garbage free day.
I think his assumptions are a 'tad' better that O's.
But hey CALPERS' new budget builds in a return on investment of 'only 7.5% this year.
Politicians are super smart, right?
58% of republicans still dont want Romney ..he cant seal the deal ! No one believes him ..His being pro choice is a huge problem ,bigger then his ego ! And then Ryan kills what momentum he had ! The people dont trust that Ryan dude and now they associate Romney with that "BUM".
So just what solutions has Obama offered lately?
On gas?
On the deficit?
Shucks anyone heard him say anything about the actual debt?
Fact is dude can't even squirt out a decent budget. The crap he puts forth never even gets any democrats to support it. You can't get big spenders like Pelosi or Sanders on board, you must really be foisting terrible ideas.
Oh well, Biden's on it - calling for a global tax. Yep, that'll fix it right up.
Mitt, your fellow republican party members promised jobs and cut more than 400,000 jobs in the public sector. Now you offer no solutions because we all know that the only people who would benefit from your policies are your 1% buddies. You will have to do better if your party is to do any better than in '64.
400,000 Public sector job cuts...many lost thanks to the failure of liberal Democratic Governors, who spent money like drunken sailors and left the mess behind after they were thrown out on their ears..
What does this even mean? Is Romney claiming that Obama is trying to get us to change our fashion choices to Santorom sweater vests complimented by Romney jeans and loafers?
Of course there is the little gem posted below. Tell me Romney, beyond losing millions of jobs in the auto industry, what other industries would you have let fail. Also, we are all ears to hear your ideas on what should be done differently to promote a business climate, or are sticking to letting the auto industry fail and end corporate taxation, which we all now, is an epic fail.
This is just a History lesson.
I bet I know who wouldn't read it -- those afraid of the truth. It is history and nothing can change it.
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007,
the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start
of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the
103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that
everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:
January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the House:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember that day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House
Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney ) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and
4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars
of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was
financially risky for the US economy). Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy"
(and the sky did fall!)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress,
especially BARNEY!!!!
So when someone tries to blame Bush...
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"
Bush may have
been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were
driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from
Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on
spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing
resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they
passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.
And where was Barack Obama during this time?
He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he
signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked
like during that period:
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the
Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit
spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama,
who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. ! ! !
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for, and then I voted to expand
that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends this information on!
"The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those
who vote for a living."
So everything the President said he was going to do, and didn't, is not because he is in way over his head and just very foolish for saying it in the first place, And since his word is worthless, we should all believe him now?
And for those that will say Bush signed bills and legislation, don't forget about the continuing resolutions. So stick all the Bush crap up your noses liberals... The real culprits in the house are the democrats.
I sure is interesting to watch the inner workings of a right wing basket cases brain. Based upon their talking points, they must be all air, no cells. One minute, government can't create a single job. The next minute, government is responsible for cutting 400k public jobs. How does the government cut a job it can't create? The RWNJ merry-go-round never ceases to amaze me.
Not nearly as much as the liberal spin machine amazes me. Liberals stand behind a president that hasn't done anything to improve the economy, has a wrecking ball of a energy policy, wants to socialize medicine and our country hasn't improved one iota in 3 years... after what the democrats did to us in 07. Liberals have to have a mental disease infecting the very thought process they were born with.
Brianb there is plenty of hard data to refute your opinion. We were losing 750,000 jobs a month during the last half of Bush's second term, we having been gaining jobs steadily, slowly but steadily. My portfolio has fully rebounded from a $480,000 loss in the last ten months of Bush, and has been improving steadily, I am very pleased with that. There is more but you just want to be the glass is half empty kind of guy that is your spin. How about us no longer being mocked by the guy responsible for attacking us on our soil during Bush's watch, or the guy responsible for bringing down a passenger plane with Americans aboard. If Bush did such a great job why isn't he out stumping for republicans, because he is poison that's why. Romney had to get Grampy Bush to endorse him not Dubya, Dubya is hiding in shame somewhere. BTW there is no mental disease infecting my thought process, it is called common sense, and arithmetic.
Go ahead BB .. ignore my question, deflection is what the right crackpots do when they are running like rats in a maze looking for the next morsel. So onto the next talking point you electron bleeders can deflect, in what way has Obama socialized medicine? Last I looked, Obamacare does not nationalize hospitals, doctors, nurses, care centers, long term care centers, or gasp, even the insurance industry. So please 'splain .. how does Obama want to socialize medicine?
Now be very careful with your response, if you are even able to formulate one. Socialism is the government take over of an industry. Requiring citizens to pay for their medical premiums is not an example of socialism.
Forrest - you are back. Haven't seen you for a while (or perhaps I've been missing). Cheers Mate!!
Been real busy RedDevPS, just have not had much leisure time. Cheers!
Okay Willard - we get it!
According to you - President Obama is the Anti-Christ - now why don't you share with us some of your expertise as a vulture capitalist?
How about why you as Governor left the State of MA ranking 47th in job creation?
Maybe, you could fill us on on what it's like to earn $57K per day & pay a lower tax rate then families who earn that much in a year...
And lastly, why you HATE dogs?
You're simply full of @!$%#... Mitt
Hi Feisty. I know a lot of republicans who refuse to vote for Romney on the dog issue alone. I just show them www.dogsagainstromney.com What a total lack of judgement he has. If I wouldn't trust Mitt to watch my dog, why would I trust him with the presidency?
Hi Wayne,
I'm not surprised - animal lovers won't put up with that kind of crap!
Like I said before, how you treat your pets reveals what kind of person you really are...
AND society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable citizens--old, sick, poor, jailed. Hope the rapture holds off for a while til we can get our house in order. Vote Democrat. Obama 2012
"attendees and media all passing through metal detectors, and reporters' bags searched thoroughly by hand (a first) and checked by K9 units."
Mitt is getting the special treatment already.....what's with the 'hand search'?
...I bet the K9 units were pissed and growled at Mitt!
I bet the K9's were wearing their "Dogs Against Romney" bandanas!
That's a good one, Wayne.....considering that doggies can sniff out who cares about them and who doesn't!
"Romney, looking visibly rested after a weekend at his home in La Jolla, CA"
Well, of course he's visibly rested.....now that he's finally got that little car elevator problem resolved at the LaJolla house, I'm sure he's sleeping much better!
Exactly JoAnne, anyone could suffer insomnia when your Cadillac gets stuck between floors on that *#%!! elevator!
Loony lefties think sane voters will be swayed by a nasty misleading lie about Romney's dog on a carrier in 1983....Romney's dog Seamus, who lived a long happy life...
Go with Seamus, loony lefties....
This from Bob, the pathological liar
www.dogsagainstromney.com
Romney left Massachusetts with 4.7% unemployment.
It's a shame Obama would give his left nut too have 7% unemployment. You think voters would prefer the 4.7 Romney delivered or the 8.3% Obama has provided?/p>
Willard left MA 47th out of 50 states in JOB creation - by all means please post a source to dispute that FACT!
The boob is pissier then normal today - he didn't get his vaginal probe!
Great point again Feisty old gal.
Now let's see if we can compare Obama's kick ass record.
Deficit expansion - #1;
Debt increase - #1;
Increase in energy costs - yep, that's a big ole #1.
Shoot Feisty there are individual states that are kicking Obama's butt.
Then again, I know that's nothing you know about. You live in a progressive paradise. Yeah, so tell us how the biggest tax increase in your state's history is working out for you.
Seriously old gal - your democrat gov. jacked you and yet your state's deficit is worse after the increase.
How 'unexpected.'
Willard left MA 47th out of 50 states in JOB creation - by all means please post a source to dispute that FACT!
Nobody gives two Shiites what rank he had he left with 4.7% unemployment. But please keep at it.
We all need reminding of what Obama has delivered.
Oh com on Rob - Feisty busting out math?
She clearly has no clue.
Say old gal - how much job creation could there possibly be when unemployment is only 4.7%
COme on you silly, silly goose.
I don't suppose you have any idea what full employment is, eh?
So says the ostrich - please post you links to back up your claims for a change...
Is that too much to ask... from our resident LIAR?
Little buddy - YOU are giving NJNB a run for her money - clearly the bitch is BROKE!
Much like YOU.... lmfao!
For Booby in Va.........

5 Ways Virginia May Be the Worst State in the Nation
It isn't known for being a bastion of liberalism, but even for a 'purplish' state, Virginia has taken extraordinarily conservative actions recently.
March 29, 2012 |
Bottom of Form
Reading the news these days is like going through a time warp. States across the country are racing toward the past. It's 2012 and we're still forced to stomach "debates" on birth control and whether we should be teaching science in the classroom. Georgia may pass a law banning protests at or near private homes. In Missouri Republicans are stripping healthcare provisions for the blind. We've hit a new low. And one of the states leading this mad dash to the bottom is Virginia.
It isn't known for being a bastion of liberalism, but even for a "purplish" state, Virginia has taken extraordinarily conservative actions recently. The push has come from the Right -- and the perfect storm of a Republican governor with eyes on the vice president's mansion in Washington: an ultra-conservative attorney general (who thought the goddess on Virginia's state seal, which dates back to 1776, was dressed inappropriately); and a GOP-controlled state legislature. The combination has been bad news for women, gays and lesbians, the environment, and just about everyone else in the state, too. Here are five recent examples of just how bad things have gotten.
1. The More Guns, the Merrier
On February 27, three students where shot and killed by a fellow classmate wielding a handgun at Chardon High School in Ohio. The next day, in a state scarred by the worst school shooting in the country's history -- at Virginia Tech in April 2007 -- Republican Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell signed a new gun law -- one that makes it possible to buy more handguns. The law was a repeal of a 1993 law that limited handgun purchases to one per month.
"The [1993] law was intended to stanch the flow of guns from Virginia to New York City and other metropolitan areas in the Northeast," the AP reported. "In 1991, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms found that 40 percent of the 1,236 guns found at crime scenes in New York had been purchased in Virginia."
New York's Mayor Bloomberg told the NY Daily News, "Virginia is the No. 1 out-of-state source of crime guns in New York, and one of the top suppliers of crime guns nationally."
But the Republican-controlled Virginia state legislature and the state's governor sided with the gun lobby instead -- despite the opinions of a majority of their constituents.
Victims of the Virginia Tech shooting, where 32 peopled were gunned down and 17 others injured, met with Governor McDonnell days before he signed the bill. One student, Chris Goddard, who was shot four times, said McDonnell "offered sympathy, not solutions."
"McDonnell seems to have learned little since that horrible day about our desire to be safe," Jim Winkler of the Faiths United Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence wrote in the Richmond-Times Dispatch. "Sixty-six percent of Virginians told the Richmond-Times Dispatch that they wanted the one-handgun restriction to remain in place. Clearly, who has a legitimate need to buy more than one handgun a month? But our governor put the agenda of a lobby ahead of the people he was elected to represent. He put the gun lobby's agenda ahead of protecting the residents of his state from the life-altering and life-ending horror of gun violence. Innocent lives will be lost as a result. It is not only shameful that the governor did this, it is immoral."
Virginia is already a gun-friendly state. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence reports that, "Virginia has weak gun laws that help feed the illegal gun market, allow the sale of guns without background checks and put children at risk." The organization has given the state a dismal ranking of 12 out of 100 points for gun control laws. And now, things may get even worse.

What has happened to you Virginia, one of the prettiest states in the Union. Filled with history, blessed with great educational facilities, a joy to visit and explore, a state I wished I could have lived in the many times I’ve stopped there on my way north. It seems you have allowed yourselves to be taken over by extremes, lacking in logic, tolerance and an understanding of our history.
There was a time when beautiful Virginia was known through their license tag, “Virginia is for Lovers” not much anymore, it is more like, Virginia is for Loons. You appear to have lost your way. What a pity.
Yo - GingerBread. Seems that NYC has very strict gun laws, and yet there are many, many guns crimes every day.
What gives?
Oh and GBM - background checks are mandated by the Federal Government so your cite is just plain silly. But then again, I suspect you have never bought a gun. I have, many, many times. It's ALL about the ATF.
In fact NYC has street scanners that scan for concealed guns. But guns are illegal in the NYC, so why would they need to do that? Wait, are you saying that some people are not following the laws?
And of course we got the ATF that gives free guns to criminal cartels, so who really cares what Virginia does, eh GBM? How about Holder's testimony?
Yeah, that sucks, right? Sure dies if you are one of the 300 dead Mexicans, or Brian Terry.
I wonder GingerBread - which has more gun related crime - NYC or Virginia?
Why do I always have to do your research Redhead?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governorship_of_Mitt_Romney
The unemployment rate in MA went from 5.6 to 4.7 under Romney.
Or is Wikipedia a right wing site now too?
They told me I had to wait three days to get a gun, I told them but I'm pissed off right now!
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=50546
Great piece from Pat Buchanan on the Travon Martin tragedy.
Forrest - that's why Arizona rocks - no silly waiting period. THe ATF clears you and you are gold.
In Cali - you got to wait 14 days, show a vehicle registration, buy a trigger lock $50, and a license fee $50.
2nd Amendment my man, it's the Constitution. I love the Constitution. And I know you do too.
Rob- do you know what a No Limit Nigga is? Why would Treyvon use that as a screen name?
Anyone?
Spanky, I'm glad I am not in Cali, it's hard for me to stay mad for 14 days.
Nobody had screen names back then, but when I was 17 I started playing in a rock band and wanted people to refer to me by my stage name "Bolt Upright" which I stole from the Flintstones, it is a strange age and if we could see ourselves at 17 again some of it would make us laugh, and some of it would make us cringe. I suspect it is something he picked up from a movie or a song lyric and took up that notion. From what I have seen he certainly does not look like a real gangbanger, anymore than I was Eric Clapton. Spanky, didn't you talk about a car one time you had as a teen that you gave a wacky paint job, how hard is that to explain now as an adult? I have done plenty of crap I can't properly explain, still do every once in awhile, it does not warrant or justify in any fashion some individual pursuing me as if they were a law officer and taking my life. I could use a good ass whooping every once in great while, but I don't expect to be killed.
I can do math Spanky! I did get a fine education at Catholic school. I am very good at math, on my first day of school, even though I was just a six year old first grader I realized right off the bat that these nuns are really serious about math, I knew that for sure when I seen they had a guy nailed to a plus sign in every classroom!
Sorry Rob, I will take Politifact over Wikipedia anyday...
Off topic :Was K. Olberman just fired from Current TV and replaced by Elliott Spitzer?
Uh huh!
It seems Keith doesn't play well with others...
It appears that Keith is out, once again, maggie. Too bad, I liked his show.

Once a loser, always a loser.
Judging from your comments John, it is something you are uniquely familiar with...
Then again, the heat in AZ is known to cause 'brain rot'!
Just look at your alcoholic Governor...
I grew up in your Godforsaken excuse for a state & couldn't wait to get the hell out of Dodge!
Feisty almost daily smears John Boehner is an alcoholic..and now Arizona's GOP Governor is added to her slanders...
After Feisty has a few more scotches, she will accuse Mitt Romney of drinking too much....
Here is a thought little booby - PROVE me wrong...
That broad in AZ has been mummified... thanks to the heat & booze...
My sources are straight from the horses mouth, while yours are straight from the horses ass....
See if Snuffy will share her feed bag with ya?
Ah but at least Brewer actually gets out of her house everyday and interacts with actual people.
Our gal feisty spends all day, everyday, including Sat. and Sunday, right here, hanging out with Bob from Virginia, Spanky and all her other anonymous friends.
Her's is a special world.
Go Feisty.
Spanky, stop picking on the handicapped.
But I LOVE Feisty.
She is really smart, and super well rounded in all things economic and political.
Plus she has red hair, so there is that.
Oh and I heard she actually went outside three weeks ago on a Tuesday. There was no First Read Posts for 10 whole minutes. :)
DumbFux Feisty.....I love it.
What's in the water in the Badger State? Romney breaks down and uses a ... wait for it... teleprompter. OHHHHH NOOOOO! Obviously needed to keep that much mis-information straight. However, even worse, last night in Janesville, Wisconsin, erstwhile Presidential candidate and known Teahadist Rick Santorum calls President Obama; "anti-war government nig---". Santorum's speech is one hour and seven minutes long, remark made at 35 minute mark. What the what? It's all unravelling for the Gassed Out Party.
You just can't make this stuff up.
ForePlinger.......The real Santorum....exposed!...for what he is!
He can't help himself....he wiggled out or tried to wiggle out of his 'blah' comment from some weeks ago, but this is beyond...well civility. Santorum is a racist!
"You just can't make this stuff up"
Yet you just did, with slanderous lies and typical moonbat idiocy.
Remember Bob, when all else fails, liberals always fall back on race. Of course Santorum is a racist. There hasn't been any real news on him in a few days so the liberals have to make up something new.
Cut 'em some slack Brian - not like they can talk about the issues.
Gas? Nope.
A budget? Not on the dems watch.
Wait, I know how about some missile defense? Whoops, them mics are hot.
It really was a terrible, no good week for O. Medved, Treyvon, Obamacare.
Oh my!
I really just want Rev. Al, or maybe Jesse to 'splain what a 'No Limit Nigga' is, and why Treyvon seemed to be so prone to violence and to hate women.
Makes you wonder - if Obama had a son, would he have a screen name like that? Tats? A deep seated hatred of women.
I sure hope not.
It's like shooting fish in a barrel around here!
It's going to get a whole lot more fun as we approach November. Just wait until the PAC's start unleashing the skinny about Obama during the general election. They have plenty of money and plenty of ammunition to work with. And the liberals are convinced Obama is going to win. HA!
Of course they we all stunned by Obamacares beat down.
They just never see the forrest.
Hey, B to the V, don't believe me, the tape is out there for all to see. I didn't give it one look, I gave it three .What's it like to live in a zone that's fact free? Here's something for you to nosh on:
-drop a dynamic beat-
I can't stand it, I know you planned it,
I'm gonna' set it straight, this flip-flop gate.
The dog is strapped down when I'm in here,
'Cause your crystal ball ain't so crystal clear.
So, while you sit back and wonder why,
I got a Santorum thorn stuck in my side.
Oh my God, it's a mirage!
I'm tellin' y'all it's sabotage!
So shut the hell up 'cause you can't say nothin'
I'll shut Gingrich down with a push of a button.
Everybody out and Ron Paul gone,
I'll tell you now I keep it on and on.
'Cause what you see you might not get
I support every position I ever met.
You're scheming on a thing that's a mirage.
I'm trying to tell you now it's sabotage.
Why! Our backs are now against the wall.
Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage,
Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage,
Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage,
Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage!
I can't stand it, I know you planned it,
I'm gonna' set it straight, this flip-flop gate.
My magic underwear itches when I'm in this place,
Because I feel disgrace because you're all in my face!
But make no mistakes and switch up my channel,
Corporations are the people I like to handle.
What could it be? It's a mirage,
You're scheming on a thing that's sabotage.
mad props to MC Preibus, DJ SuperPac and the busters of Citizen's United!

He's gonna get eaten alive in the debates...
Hey it's Mickey the Moocher?...
Hi-di-hi-de-hi-de-ho
What up Mickster?
I would love a talk show gig. Looks pretty easy.
Plus I would love to grill these idiots.
But hey - all anyone needs to have in a debate with O is a debt clock running in real time behind them. That and maybe a video loop of '08 Obama blaming Bush for gas prices.
But shoot - Mitt is so weak, and O so HUGE, this election is a lock, right?
Then again, you libbies kinda missed the whole Obamacare is toast thing-y.
Head to Head Linkedin Profile Battle:
Romney:
vs.
Obama:
I think we know who wins this one.
Flip Romney will not be elected President. He is too much of a Nervous Nelly. That Nervous Nelly laugh comes out especially when someone gets in his face. So, can you image what will happen when the President gets into his face during the debates?
Just look video of when he is asked tough questions. He falls apart, such as, “oh, oh, if, I did, I didn’t, go vote for someone else, leave me alone, I didn’t say that, help, corporations are people too, I know business, I fire people, help. “
Debates, heck! What if he, by some miracle, is elected and he has to meet with Amajinidad or another scary world leader. Ol' Willard would pee his pants for sure.
Making things up is about all you libs can do. I'd much rather see Romney face off with Amajinadad than have Obama bow to the Saudi king... and kiss his ring. At least we don't have to worry about what loyalties Romney has. No one can ever tell with Captian Kickass.
Your thinking of Bush
"The ironic tragedy is that the community organizer who wanted to help those hurt by a plant closing became the President on whose watch more jobs were lost than any other time since the great Depression," Rommey said"
"Ironic tragedy"? Wasn't it just two days ago that Romney thought that plant closings were stand-up comedy?
"The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Craig Gilbert reported on the telephone town hall meeting with voters on Wednesday, saying Romney, the Republican front-runner in the presidential race, opened the call by remarking on his connections to Wisconsin, which votes Tuesday.
"One of the most humorous stories, I think, relates to my father," he started, going on to tell how George Romney closed a car factory in Michigan and moved the production to Wisconsin."

Even for Mitt, that's a world record time for a flip-flop......
Its freezing in Portland, tonight, but I'm hanging around outside the Portland Museum of Art, hoping to catch a glimpse of the President when he leaves. I hope I see him!
Hi Amy,
I hope you do see him. It is a Great honor to see him.
Geez, Ames, you've already seen Mitt Romney in person.....how much more excitement do you want? :)
(Tell the President we're all fired up and ready to go!)
That would be so thrilling, Amy!
Obama is only there to get some campaign loot from the 1%, Amy. He could care less about you.
Yep, bobby that is the reason Obama is there. Ya gotta fiight fire with fire. He knows he will be greatly outspent by the filthy rich supporters of Romney so it would be foolish not to get some moola of his own to spend. Nothing wrong with that. After all Super PACs are legal and obviously full of cash for both sides.
Hey Ames maybe you can find some burning coals to cross that will warm you up.
Obama got the Wall Street loot in '08, and hired half of Goldman Sachs financial pirates....not to mention Jon Corzine, whom Joe Biden credited with the economic policy , that did to the US, what Corzine did to MF Global
As Joe Biden says...
it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S
Doesn't surprise me in the least that a lefty liberal would go out to see if she can get a glimpse of Obama. What a waste of time. He's going to be shuttled to his protective armored car, under the building where nobody can see him. Maybe Amy can get to see his limo... think she'll pass out from excitement?
Damn you WCA - you beat me to it.
We all know Amy could never be cold, not with all them hot coals to walk over.
Odd thing is, seems she might do better to focus more on her retirement plans.
How funny is it that Michelle is in Vegas, on our dime? Gosh, seems like just yesterday Obama was saying you just can't go to Vegas on junkets.
It's good to be the king, right Amy?
Oh wait, nevermind.
Hey Ames maybe you can find some burning coals to cross that will warm you up.
Damn funny
I did see his limo! The windows were darkened, so I couldn't see inside, but I sensed he was waving at us. :)
I walked up to the Museum after work, because he was supposed to be there at 6, for a fundraising dinner. We waited out front, behind a yellow police tape, finally, one of secret service let us know "he's already inside." They had brought him around the back. We were so mad. I went into a coffee shop to warm up. Later I walked to the side entrance, and waited, hoping to see him. We saw vehicles pulled up there, and, eventually, the press poured out and got in the vans. I walked to the back of the museum, and saw his limo pull out and turn right in front of us. It was a long, cold evening, but at least I got to see the limo!
amy -- i don't understand why you waited out front? why did you not pay to see him? if he is that special of a person then no cost should be to much?
Amy you may get cold on the outside but you always have a warm heart on the inside, you go girl.
Amy---how great that you showed your support for your President. I'm sure it warms his heart to know that every day folks like you are behind him, literally and figuratively.
A Romney supporter would have hired someone to wait in line for him.
"And instead of doing everything possible to promote the power of the free enterprise system, to create jobs and get us out of this crisis, Barack Obama has promoted the power of government. And the results have been predictable and dismal."
That is the type of conservative general election argument that will get Mitt Romney elected President ! Excellent , 100% true and hits home with Americans of all walks of life.
But the main question is if Mitt can convince Independents that his economic strategy will do more than just provide more handouts to the 1%. That strategy works only for the republican base, who do not seem to care about their own self-interest. I guarantee Independents do, and will be watching Mitt with a thorough eye. If he cannot provide proof that he will watch out for the middle class, he will have no chance.
"And instead of doing everything possible to promote the power of the free enterprise system
Hey V-Bob, Do you mean the same way the Bush admin. approached it?
The "1%" rhetoric is the shallowest, silliest class warfare crap...no one is buying that..but by all means, keep up theh Marxist rhetoric , it works well in cambridge and Berkeley...
Bob, it seems that we have been lied to. You see, the "trickle down" economic system so many of us trusted was supposed to create and maintain jobs. So where are all the jobs, Bob. Those who run the businesses are the best equipped to provide jobs and they do, for people in India, Vietnam and China, but not in the US. When are we going to see the jobs, Bob. I would support the Republicans whole heartedly if they did what they claim. The reduction of taxes on corporations was supposed to create jobs. Where are the jobs, Bob. Deregulation was supposed to create jobs, where are the jobs, Bob. Obama's plan may not be perfect but at least the economy is growing. Albeit at a slower pace than most would like but it is growing contrary to what was happening in the last years of the last Administration. As I recall that was a Republican Administration, Bob.
Government usually winds up doing for people what they WON"T do for themselves like create jobs, Bob. The government wouldn't need to be involved if the huge corporations were hiring Americans in America and not Chinese in COMMUNIST China, Bob.
Bob, throwing a fit about "marxists" and "class warfare" changes nothing. Mitt still has to get Independents on board. How does he do that? They are not republicans for a very good reason. If he does not throw some kind of bone to the middle class, he WILL lose. This may be something you don't want to hear, but it is the truth.
Come to Virginia, the economy is doing relatively well here, because of the successful conservative economic policies of Gov Bob McDonnell.
Illinois, California and urban inner cities are basket cases, thanks to failed liberal policies...
Obama's statist socialist redistribution schemes are a massive failure; the worst economic record in the last 50 years.
V-Bob Its hard to perceive how you attack centrist arguments as Marxist rhetoric. You must be way out there in the extreme world of rightyville.
Chucky,
"throw a bone" ? No...the middle class and everyone needs government to get the hell out of our lives.
That is all liberals know how to do , bribe voters with government money. The best thing Romney said, was to a heckler who said she wanted "free birth control".
Romney said if you wanted free stuff from the government, vote for Obama. If you want freedom to succeed on your own merits, vote for him.
Mitt seems more than willing to throw lots of bones to the upper class. I will repeat my question. Please answer without the ideological jargon. What part of Mitt's economic plans will actually benefit the middle class? Personaly, I'd like to know. All I have seen is the typical continuation of handouts to those who do not need it.
If there is no benefit to the middle class in supporting Mitt, why would they ever support him?
So you geniuses do understand that 'trickle down' is just another way of saying Capitalism?
Alright then, since you all hate capitalism, what else you got?
There is Socialism, Communism, what?
I would love, love, love to hear what you got for an alternative. Of course I would love to hear why it is you are not in the 1%.
Shoot, all you heros are - Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Warren, Geitner, Clinton(s)....
So Chucky what part of skyrocketing energy prices helps anyone? Oh and why did Obama's budget go down 414-0?
Odd, right?
I just do not see what is so terribly hard or unreasonable about my question. What can Mitt (the topic is about Mitt of course) do to help the middle class? As for Obama's budget, I'm not here to defend Obama. There seems to be a lot his supporters here though. Perhaps they would like to chime in.
Why golly Chucky, I'll let the middle class fend for themselves.
THe topic is about both - we are comparing Mitt to Obama.
So I ask you - what has Obama done to help the middle class? Cause see, someone's gonna have to pay back all that money. $4 billion dollars per day my man, $4 BILLION PER DAY.
Again, what could go wrong?
I'll let the middle class fend for themselves.
---------------------------------------------------
In other words, no change in policy since 1980. Well, that clears that up. See, that wasn't so hard.
Any of you Obama guys wanna answer Spanky's question? You really don't want me to.
Oh, so there was no change in say 1992-2000, eh?
Huh. But then again, how you got that from my comment is interesting.
Hey Chucky - you ever gotten a job from a member of the middle class?
Wait I know Chucky - $5.00 per gallon gas is aces for the middle class. Me, I am enjoying the lack of traffic these days. Filling up the SUV at $110, not so much.
Well Spanky since I am middle class, then yes, I've gotten a job from someone in the middle class.
And if the cost of gas is bothering you, you can always buy an electric car. Or maybe a natural gas converter kit for your present vehicle. CNG is getting cheap these days.
Hey Bob VP, while you're gathering that answer for Chuck, here's another that I'd like an answer too as well.
Explain to me please, how your party and you yourself, cry that government is too big, yet where in power, for example, your own state, they expand the power of government by putting through laws against women, mandating they take unnecessary tests?
Surely they have better subjects to focus on, such as improving the lives of everyone and making government more efficient without having to attack and browbeat women.
Well done Chucky.
Romney said if you wanted free stuff from the government, vote for Obama. If you want freedom to succeed on your own merits, vote for him.
Sounds good V-Bob. The problem is that the cards are stacked in the favor of big business, which makes Romney's statement just political pandering and "Bull@!$%#".
Cards being stacked has what to do with anyone providing you "free" stuff?
Go out there and get your own stuff.
Obama just made a speech yesterday advising Congress to remove the Tax Deductions that oil companies receive so that he could drive up the price of oil. The Democrat controlled Senate voted that little gem of brilliance down. The man is absolutely the most incompetent boob to ever hold the office of the Presidency.
What's next? Oh, I know. Why don't we remove the mortgage tax deduction to spur the housing market. Quick, somebody call Obama and let him trip over that.
It’s all been written about and exposed in a great new book–
"THE DEVIL'S BANKER" by Gary Van Haas on Amazon-com
Check it out if you want to know the truth what's really going on!
What’s more clear with Employment report is that when it comes to joblessness, having a college degree is more important than ever that is why we need the help of High Speed Universities now
Wow, just saw "Hunger Games".
Horrible Future Libbie "paradise where innocent, hard working Republican kids are selected and shuttled on an Obama train to a libbie city crawling with fags. Then forced to kill each other off for the worthless libbie's amusement. Good movie. It will make you vote Republican forever.
I have yet to see Mitt Romney, look sincere on ANYTHING he says in a TV Interview, Video, or on the Stomp.
He looks totally uncomfortable in his own skin when he has to relate to ordinary people. He puts his FOOT so far down his Throat, that all the Obama Campaign has to do is have VIDEOGRAPHER follow him around to pick those nuggets right out of Romney's own mouth. He lies with a recklessness unheard of by someone who is on the up and up himself as a so called "pure person" Mormons claim to be.
He makes UP COMPLETE BOLD FACE LIES about this President and What he says. He tried to embarrass the President while he was overseas representing the Country, which is a total NO NO. Romney just made himself look bad and his HERO, Ronald Reagan, by saying Russia is still our No. 1 Enemy. Most of us thought the Cold War was Over.
He has to run away from the few decent things he did as a politician to go to the DARK SIDE for people who are WARTS on Society in GENERAL to get their support.
He will not be a PRESIDENT OF THE PEOPLE. He is just as "fake and Phony" as they come.
President Obama should be able to eat Romney for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with a Snack for good measure.
