From his home state of Wisconsin, Rep. Paul Ryan endorsed Mitt Romney ahead of Tuesday's primary there. He said Romney "is the best person to be president" and "best person to beat" President Obama.
"Mitt Romney is clearly that person," he said this morning on Fox and Friends.
He said he "spent a good deal of time with Romney" and "I am convinced Mitt Romney has the skills, principle, courage, and tenacity to do what it takes to get America back on track."
He also stressed that the "primary could enter a phase when it becomes counterproductive if this drags on much longer."
He added that he hasn't been able to touch base with Rick Santorum yet, will do so later today, but the point he would make to him, Ryan said -- after spending the last six months figuring out what it takes to run and fund a presidential campaign -- is that he's "convinced if this drags out into the summer, it's just going to make it tougher to beat Barack Obama. The more we drag it out, the harder it is to beat" Obama. He said conservatives need to “coalesce."
Ryan has for the past six months led the Republican National Committee's presidential fundraising efforts as head of the RNC's Presidential Trust.

All these recent endorsements of Romney reflect a desire to end the primary season, not real enthusiasm for Mitt.
Romney/Rubio/Ryan
The three "R"'s of great government! All the damage created by Obama and the progressives will soon be solved.
Time to restore the Greatness of America!
Romney/Rubio 2012
How???? Do tell. What specifically in any plan or proposal will do this and how??? Someone needs to articulate this past just knocking the results that the current administration has or has not achieved. I hear nothing but tax cuts and deregulation. Is this all there is to the conservative master plan????
One more reason to despise Romney.
And the Democrats, the Party of Big Government, give us nothing but loss of freedom: bigger and bigger overbearing Government, moving us toward total dependency on the Nanny State...
Bob, and thanks for the GOP's WAR ON WOMEN! Gee, that was a popular move, wasn't it?? And your man, V.aginal P.robe McDonald was leading the charge, so to speak.... LOL
It is clear that the Republican party wants to end the campaigning as soon as possible. They have had several of their 'big' names endorse Romney over the past week in an effort to end the campaigns by showing Santorum that he can't beat everyone; if anyone, for a sustainable period.
The message should be clear to Santorum and Gingrich that their own party doesn't want them moving forward from this point. After the WI primary, I have little doubt that both will give their statements that they are dropping out by the middle of next week at the latest and that they also give their full support to Romney.
The trouble is, Romney simply can't beat President Obama in the coming elction. It is impossible to change personality in that amount of time no matter how hard he tries.
I don't understand the shorthand "NANNY STATE" whats that? All I hear when that is said is "I don't want to pay taxes." What happened to "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." One in 6 people in this "great" country have difficulty procuring enough to eat. Don't we have a moral responsibility as a nation to try and remedy that. AS A NATION means the government, the collective agency of the people formed to do the peoples work.
You have a moral obligation to help as an individual....there is no moral obligation to feed a bureaucracy, to create a nation of helpless dependents.
What we need to do is give individuals opportunity to succeed.
Government is not the solution, it is the problem.
oats willy
You ask how??? Maybe you didn't hear that the Republicans voted on a budget recently. Their budget gets things going in the right direction to bring down the debt in our country. Please tell me what part of the Democrat budget you like.
As far as "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your couintry". That was probably one of the best statements from a politician we have heard in many years. The problem is that the person who made that statement would not be called a democrat today. He had too much common sense and knew it took everyone to make things work. Not just tax the rich.
I am not rich, I pay plenty of taxes, that's fine. But Ryan's budget is a sham. You can not simply cut your way to deficit reduction. There has to be revenue. You can not go to War and cut taxes that is grossly irresponsible. And lets face it individuals are not through their largess going to feed the nations hungry children. They never have, and they never will. If we are indeed a great nation we should be judged by how we treat the least of us.
We treat our needy very well. You don't see "POOR" in this country like you do in others. We are a GREAT NATION and we help other nations with their problems. And don't give us the crap about paying taxes. Half of us do pay taxes. I pay more than you might think and don't mind it one bit. But when we have a clown in the White House that says I need to pay more so others can not pay at all I get a little pissed. If he can't cut waste and needless spending he doesn't need any more at this time. He is a failure and we need somebody who understands economics to take over. Are you aware of how many people in this current administration have gone through their lives never having a private sector job? It is pathetic that this country would think they have a clue.
Unite! My Muslim Brothers, behind our religious leader Romney! Blast those Godless Chinese from the White House!
And please, remind Mullah Santorum that if he doesn't keep his mouth shut, some Cleric is going to probably cut off his tongue.
JH that's just more radio talk boilerplate, meaningless blather. We don't treat the poor well, you are simply insulated from them, much like Romney. You are living in a dream world if you don't think there are POOR people in this country. And DUH half the people don't pay taxes because they don't make enough money to live on!!!!!!!!! How do expect to tax them if they have no money??????? STOP blaming poor people for being poor, it's beneath us as a nation to go around blaming children, the elderly, the simple minded, and the sick for being poor. Thats who the poor are. Lets have the mentally ill pay more taxes, BRILLIANT.
Rob in ma-3189632
Romney took Mass from 10th place in job creation to the 47th place.
Rubio had used his party credit card for personal use, and later reimbursed the card company for about $16,000. Rubio has an underwater mortgage, and is paying off a home equity loan and a student loan. Now, there would be nothing strange about that since it applies to most Americans but he refinanced when he was making $400,000/year. Rubio has even faced foreclosure. He cannot manage his own finances but you label him great?
Ryan - well we all know about Ryan - the "Fiscal Conservative" who is so against raising the debt limit under the Obama Administration foted in favor of increasing the debt limit under the Bush Administration.
JH-479998
are you calling the retirees, disabled, single moms, college students, high school students,minimum-wage workers deadbeats? Because even though these people have some income, they don't make enough to qualify to pay taxes.
Stop using the tired "50% of people don't pay taxes" phrase. The entire population of the United States does not equal to 100% of full-time working people who earn incomes above the poverty level.
Start concentrating on the phrase that 66% of domestic and foreign companies that do business in this country don't pay taxes.

What a crock! Likewise, Republicans continue to use Big Government to try to legislate AGAINST WOMEN and Republicans do their best to DENY WOMEN our rights under the law, and Republicans lead a never-ending-quest to "take back the womb".

Where's the big photo op of Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney standing hand in hand, arms raised in victory ? Isn't that what we're supposed to have when a leading candidate picks up a major endorsement ?
"With friends like this, who needs enemies ?" Henny Youngman
Gotta love the GOP, "kill off Medicare, no food for the poor, more tax cuts to the rich," Paul Ryan budget. When your printed plan for the future of America literally takes money from the elderly and the poor and gives it to the wealthiest Americans there is something very wrong with your priorities.
JH-479998
We had a balanced budget before G.W. Bush and company took office or do you just have a very selective memory like all the other Republican Idiot Morons?
OatsWilly: You wrote "You can not simply cut your way to deficit reduction. There has to be revenue." and you are correct. Happily, the federal government already collects about $1.4 Trillion and the state governments trillions more, so there is already plenty of revenue. The problem is on the spending side.
If you don't think $1.4 Trillion is enough, how much do you think it takes?
Mitt Romney for President. I am sooo.. excited. He needs to stop thinking about the other GOP rivals. Just concentrate and start showing the American people the failures of Obama so he can start drawing that conclusion. That Obama is not working for the American people. Just playing politics. How stupid can democrats be to vote for the guy that behind their backs says : " I can be more flexible after the elections"... Come on...
"And the Democrats, the Party of Big Government, give us nothing but loss of freedom"
OK genius, specifically, how has your freedom been lost or compromised in the last 3+ years.
Oneiron: TSA, madatory purchase of health insurance, confiscation of wealth (increased taxes). There's three quick examples of lost and compromised freedom without even thinking about it.
You had to ask? Have you been to the doctor lately? Heard of electronic medical records? The feds are now tracking your BMI score, the meds you take and your blood pressure, among other things.
Catholic institutions have lost the religious freedom regarding providing contraception. I'm told I need to buy an electric car and need to subsidize its purchase by others. I was told to subsidize the purchase of houses by others with First Time Buyer's Tax Credits., in order to prop up the housing industry. How'd that work out?
-ted415784
Stop leaving in the past... Come on. See what you are in now.
John: After disagreeing with Oneiron now I've got to disagree with you. Electronic medical records are a loss of freedom? You'll have to explain that one. Are electronic real estate records or electronic recrds in general a loss of your freedom? If so, please explain how.
Also, no religous institution has lost freedom regarding contraception: no one is forced to take it. However, they are required to provide services to their employees, Contraceptive services qualify. Don't want to take the pill of have an abortion? Don't take the pill or have one.
I'm sure I'll be told to subsidize the algea industry next.
This is not a class on constitutional rights. I suggest you take one, though. If you don't get it, then move on please.
After the recall of Scott Walker, "you're next my little pretty" (to Paul Ryan).
Norm, when you go to War you can not reduce taxes. The Numbers are just numbers. Is 1.4 trillion enough? Not if it means we are still in debt. and growing that debt. Fiscal responsibility is more than eliminating programs. There are things that cost money and must be paid for, by someone. If we gut Medicare and seniors can't afford health-care are we just going to let them die? If we cut education spending are we prepared to open more prisons? Whats a better investment? If we cut food stamps do we let kids starve? If we gut social security where are the elderly going to go? It is naive to assume that by eliminating entitlements everyone will become self-sufficient. That somehow if we don't provide people with assistance that they will automatically become self reliant. There are many people, children, seniors, people who are catastrophically ill, people who are handicapped, people who are simple-minded, who are poor because of their circumstances not because they are lazy or bad. Are we prepared for a kind of social Darwinism of the strongest will survive and to hell with everyone else?
Oats: Obama already gutted Social Security with the 2% cut in the tax to buy votes for this election. Now that we've got that out of the way let's move on to more substantive issues.
"When you go to war you cannot reduce taxes." OK, end the wars, bring the boys home, and close the overseas military bases. Why we are still in Afghanistan is beyond me. It's not like they have any oil there or anything.
"There are things that cost money and must be paid for by someone." OK, let the users of the services pay. Medical care is not for immortality; medicine is about preventing premature death and quality of life. If someone, former VP Cheney for example, wants a heart transplant at age 71 he can have one, but he has to pay for it. The idea of keeping people alive for the sake of a beating heart vs. a productive and contributing life is one we can no longer afford as a nation.
"There are many people, children, seniors, etc. who are poor because of their circumstances..." OK, but is that 51% of our population? Take care of the weak and infirm, the elderly and the sick, but if you're 19 and have 5 kids you'll have to take care of them yourself.
As long as the government deters self-reliance and encourages and institutionalizes the addiction to free government cheese we are lost. As painful as cuts are today they will certainly be worse once we become Greece. The issue is not revenue, it is expenditures. Suck it up Oats, that's where it's at. Opa!
Norm and John --You guys are funny but you did not answer oneiron's question, lack of freedom in the last three years-- focus now
The TSA was created in 2002
Taxes have not increased one bit in the last three years
Noone has to buy health insurance until 2014-- This is better for America as a whole -- I know you guys are just worried about your selves but i thought i would throw that in.
The silly @!$%#ing catholics get to have it their way with insurance they provide - even if they are operating for profit businesses-- disgusting by the way
First time buyer tax credits for homes was in effect since 2006-- nothing to do with freedom by the way
Electronic records are where every industry is going not just medical care-- nothing to do with freedom by the way
You do not have to buy electric cars-- and your taxes subsidize big oil much more than your neighbor that has an electric car-- nothing to do with freedom.
Now both of you go to your bosses office and let them know you are stealing company time with @!$%#ty talking points.
....says the boss that's blogging on company time too. :-)

No, every president up to Obama gutted the Social Security by spending the money and leaving worthless IOUs. Obama is the 1st president since SS has been established who did not have the luxury to use it as his piggy bank.
you know it
Bob in Virginia, name one freedom you have lost because of Democrats. Your hero, Bob "there should be no separation of church and state" McDonnell takes away a woman's freedom to have a legal medical procedure without first submitting to a Vaginal Probe. Is that the loss of freedom you are talking about?
Norm I will beg to differ, the $ amounts spent on the social safety net are worth the return. It is cheaper to provide for people than it is to lock them up. And if you are nineteen with five kids you won't provide for them, that's the problem, and if no one provides for them they will become criminals, and likely spawn five more criminals by the time they are nineteen. I am not a bleeding heart but children born into such circumstance don't have much of a chance, neither do people of limited intelligence, people with disabilities and mental illness, and yes there are a lot of them. Many more legitimately disadvantaged than those who are able but game the system. You can not throw the baby out with the bath water. There will always be some who take advantage but to deny services to the deserving so that there won't be any cheating is just not tenable.

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust, and now, with Ryan endorsing Romney, we can add; sh^t to sh^t.
No, even though in the end it will seem much like a funeral. Right now though, it is a gathering of thieves.
Say, Bob - where'd you buy your magical TeaCliche manual?
That's rich, coming from someone who lives in the Nanny State of Virginia, recently named one of the most corrupt states in the country. 'Virginia is for Gun Lovers' should be your state motto, Bob. I wouldn't live there if you paid me to...in fact, I wouldn't even spend my vacation dollars visiting your fascist state.
You need to clean up your own back yard before you go criticizing The United States of America and its president.
Ryan is sucking up for a trip on the ticket. He is as stupid as santorum and Romney would be ingesting poison to ask this idiot to run with him. If Romney desires a chance in hell at Obama, he better select a very moderate candidate to share the ticket with him. He could get 40% of the GOP vote and take the moderate vote and win the election.
Bayllie and American Girl "If there is an "IOU" in the Social Security Trust Fund, there's only ONE name on it: George W. Bush!"
Let's pretend for a moment you're right; so what? We are in the position we're in and arguing over how we got here doesn't do much to get us out of the hole. So, what is your solution? Here's a start, stop the "re-elect the President" 2% cut into what working americans (those who work on the books) pay into social security. How does starving the system of that necessary 2% do anything to strengthen it.
I'll stop now and wait for your well thought out, non-partisan, free of political sound bites reply.
Ryan looks like Eddie Munster and ironically his budget plan is a Frankenstein monster.
interesting... has not talked to Rick, yet Ryan is convinced that Mitt is the better candidate. Who is fooling who here? It is simply a political exchange of favors and future favors.
Considering what Virginia has done recently, that is blatantly disingenuous. You have no right to lecture others about big overbearing government.
To AmericanGirl 724855: You Are Correct!
AmericanGirl,
There is no comparison to what the Clinton Administration did and what the Bush Administration did. You are correct. One left the country in black one in red. To make this easier for our "fiscally responsible" folks here to understand, I summed it up in 1 statement: "...all presidents up to Obama..."
You cannot go in too much detail to explain certain things to these people - gotta make it simple. It's the same people who still claim that the GM bailout failed, the entire debt is Obama's fault, the economy is not getting better, and Obama is still a Muslim, a Socialist, and an alien.
In your dreams! Obama supporters would not defect to the Romney camp if Mittens chose God as his running mate.
There is no other way Richie Rich could win than to get half of all blue state voters on his side.
Have you been paying attention to what Romney has said and done these past several years? Do you understand who he supports and who supports him?
A Romney presidency ain't gonna happen. Not in 2012.
@kaybeetoys#1.50: I'm real interested in seeing how all the other religious minded square the worship of their God to Romneys Mormon God. I don't think they can. Course they can always fall back on their one reliable partner; "The Devil". Now to people like me that don't look so good, but the religious don't care, so long as they collectively look good to each other.
I'd like to see a popularity/favor-ability poll done with Cheney, Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, Mitch McConnell, and maybe along with congress, the Tea Party, I don't know -- But Paul Ryan would probably have the poorest rating, even against Cheney the war criminal--I know that's how despised this jerk Ryan is.
So now what was this thread about? Oh yeah, the least popular individual in our nation (Ryan) has endorsed one of the other least popular individuals, Romney. What ever.
kaybeetoys -- Agreed. Apparently the right-wing are "giddy" about prospects of ACA being struck down. Hi-larious. Many on the left see this as win-win. If upheld ACA is better than the current broken system, and if struck down than we will have a good case for single-payer and will work toward that goal.
But if any of these right-wingers think a ruling or rulings against ACA will convince to vote Teapublican--especially for Richie Rich, uh No. Ain't going to happen under any circumstances.
Obama/Biden - 2012!
Mac Forrester -- Actually the religious nonsense makes no sense. Because if conservatives want a scandal-free (Gingrich, not), good Christian but not a crazy (like Santorum) or questionable one (like Romney) then they should vote for President Obama. No, the (R) next to the name is all that matters, as ridiculous and unqualified as the GOP/TP field is, the (R) is all these Yahoos will look for. (Well maybe except a few conservative women who will never tell anyone they voted for President Obama.)
These "men", of the republican party, serve the forces of evil in America and on the Planet; they serve NO OTHER Purpose as they are Legends in THEIR OWN MINDS.
If one could count what deeds these individuals have accomplished, the sordid ones outnumber, By Far and Large, their good efforts, if any at all. it is organizations as theirs which foment Armed Civil Wars and Misery. Thank God their main contender does not stand a remote chance of occupying the Oval Office. Their is so much corrective work to be done and so much cleaning up after them.
oats willy - clearly a person with values and ideals. You're right - we have an obligation, as a great nation to take care of those who have less. It is amazing to me that the religious right doesn't see the hypocrisy of their stances on helping others.

Ahh, Rob, poor brainwashed Rob. When will you realize that the Ryan plan will balance the budget by cutting programs that help ordinary Americans while cutting taxes for the wealthy??? The Ryan plan will simply destroy America by destroying the middle class and handing the keys to power to the wealthy.
The GOP will restore Greatness to America, for the wealthy. The rest of us will have to fend for ourselves. Better stock up on bread and bullets. It's gonna be tough, but anything for the "job-creators!"
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
@!$%# RYAN, ROMNEY, RUBIO, and the REPUBLICAN PARTY 2012
So why do we even pay taxes??? Why??? The money apparently isn't doing any good. Apparently poor children don't need an education, or food stamps to help keep them from starving, for that matter. Apparently that college student getting a loan to pay his tuition is a deadbeat, so he should get cut as well. Apparently the seniors have outlived their usefulness, so let's let them support themselves like the rest of us.
In fact, why do anything for America??? It's obviously turned into a damn bureaucratic mess; let's do nothing and hope it'll go away.
Bob, your blind support for the GOP amazes me. With all your ridiculous arguments, even you should know how the GOP's plan will destroy America. But go ahead and live in that goddamn fascist fantasy. But when America as we know it collapses and the government falls apart, don't come crying to me. We told you so. All the GOP will do is @!$%# the average joe while giving the wealthy a fat check that just fattens their pockets. I'd gladly support class warfare; at least that implies that both sides are fighting. What the GOP is proposing with that @!$%#ing idiot Ryan's plan is Robin Hood in reverse; or just class genocide. I'd gladly support the President impose class warfare against the wealthy; at least the middle class has a fighting chance, and if we lose we will become immortal and a symbol to the rest of the world, and maybe another country starting out like us will learn from our mistakes. @!$%# the 1%. @!$%# the GOP. @!$%# Romney, Ryan, and @!$%# the right-wing. You conservatives have done NOTHING to help America. In fact, your party has put this country on the edge of destruction, and when we are finally starting to get back up you kick us in the face and send us sprawling. I will be happy when the GOP is dead; and if they win in November, kiss America as we know it goodbye. We might as well give up if they win; America will be finished.

@True Patriot#1.53: I, of course agree with you. My point is though; None on todays political scene have bigger mouth's, and speak more outrageous diatribes than the traditional religious right. They have continually damned all other religions, along with the nonreligious, to eternal hells ghetto sections. Now, they are faced with voting for one who is waaaay outside their stated limits of religious acceptability, on the one hand, or voting for one, who is in fact, one of their own, yet, of a race and political ilk they just cannot stop hating on the other. There will be some interesting, albeit raw and hypocritical, tales told, and reasons given. Being a natural skeptic, this interests me. Looking forward to the comedy of it all. Regards
I wouldn't brag about a Paul Ryan endorsement. The man couldn't find his own ass with two hands and a special "ass" map.
"A Ryan Endorsement is a kiss of death"
If there is an "IOU" in the Social Security Trust Fund, there's only ONE name on it: George W. Bush!
Let's broaden that a little further! If there is any IOU for the American people, then then there is only one name on it: George W. Bush!
The numbers are readily available here: National Debt by year 2000-2010
2001 - (first Bush budget year) national debt = $5.8T
2009 - (last Bush budget year) national debt = $11.9T
The reason you have to look at national debt and not budget numbers is because Bush kept so much off of the budget. All spending for 2 wars aws done only by "emergency spending measures" (as well as a lot of Republican pork). Although Bush only recorded average $250B deficits during his entire 8 years, the national debt actually increased on average, $700B every year. Bush, Cheney and Republican majorities in both houses (6 out of 8 years) spent money like drunken sailors!
Now, before I get jumped on for including 2009 with Bush's record, you must realize that the government fiscal year runs from Oct to Oct. In fact, you will note that my source for national debt clearly states that each year is 9/30/XXXX. That is because that's when the old budget ends and a new budget takes effect. Everybody that calculates the debt figures from the time a president takes office ignores the fact that, for the 10 months of his first year, any president now is working with a previous president's budget!
It tyook us 200 years to get to $5.8T in debt. It only took 8 years to more than double that! And now, why would anyone want to hand power back to the party that put that idiot in charge?
I hear alot of peep about paying taxes and big government. I am 23, just got out of college last year and I pay about 25% in taxes. That being said, I still don't mind paying more as long as I don't see homeless people everytime I get out of work. Who should help them? The governemnt, rehabilitate them and help them find a job etc. If we have a small government now, then we will see all those with government jobs become the homeless. Trust me, the last thing I want to see is more homeless people. Ohh put them in the private sector, trust me, the private sector does not hire recently layed off and homeless people.
Ryan endorses Romney? Mr. take away Grandma's social security and medicare and give that money to the 1%?
Yep, that ought to help.
Tax the Rich
Feed the Poor
Till there are no Rich no more...
Genius plan
Have conservatives even considered what Ryan's plans for Medicare would mean for them and their families or are they really that dumb? I know, you don't need to answer that.
That's just brilliant, Rob. Brilliant.
Romney has already sewn up the votes of the 1%---wouldn't think he needed Ryan's endorsement for that. I will say that Ryan did a better job of endorsing Mitt than the hero of the conservatives, Rubio. Maybe Ryan wants that VP candidate gig.
Ryan is looking for coat tails to jump on.
Ryan: Let's fire all the teachers. We don't need no stinkin' eddification.
Romney: Let's foreclose on all those middle class homeowners so rich investors can buy up houses cheap and rent them out to middle class folk.
Ryan: Let's fire all the teachers. We don't need no stinkin' eddification
Obama: Let's all put on our Hoodies
Ryan and Romney Plan: Since Gramps has already PAID into Social Security for decades, let's take that money and give it to rich folks. We can't afford to pay Gramps back all the money he put in AND give it to the rich!
Kill Social Security. To blazes with Gramps!
Rob, you sound like a racist.
the ignorance displayed in these comments saying that republicans want to take grandma's social security and medicare is very revealing. rather than debate many turn to over-the-top comments that have no credibility as a result.
Sound like they (Teabaggers) want our children to have pea-brained intellects the result of Home-schooling and brainwashing against real science....
Gee i wonder why Americans are turning against them...
rob in ma - great plan. About time the rich give their fair share...Tax the rich I mean like the good old days of the 60's 80%! Now that is a plan. Glad you thought of it.
oats willy
rob's comment made ZERO sense but you will soon find out that Rob's all comments makes zero sense. He's not racist - he's just ignorant.
Romney is in "secret talks" with Gingrich as we speak.
Romney/Gingrich 2012?
Sounds like a loser to me.
Let us get back to the good old days of 3000 dead in WTB, Unfunded lied into war in Iraq where 5000 US Troops have died and 20,000 maimed,Squandered Clinton surplus, Almost complete collapse of banking system, welcome Bush Tarp program, days of mission accomplished, Bin Laden laughing at us in tapes every other month -well at least he is not laughing any more! Now--Some how --If we just go back to tried and true Bush policies we will have peace and prosperity. Maybe someone who comes from the Planet of Kolub can see it but I certainl can not!
Folks like Rob can never quite manage to keep it from oozing on out. Rushbo would be so proud!
Btw, isn't Kolub Bob's middle name?
I never thought I would say this, but the GOP now represents the evil and ignorance in America. And among the upper-crust aristocrats in that damn machine is Paul @!$%#ing Ryan, the devil himself. That bastard not only has the guts to privatize Medicare, cut billions from social programs, AND give millionaires an extra $187,000, but he calls his plan "The Path to Prosperity." @!$%# that. All his plan does is speed up another economic crash from the wealthy having so much and the middle class having so little. @!$%# the wealthy. The GOP only seeks to serve the wealthy. All they offer is tax cuts for the wealthy, cuts to spending that help the middle class, and letting companies do as they please. No help for the middle class; no funding for things like education and infrastructure, not even to help poor people or seniors get by.
The GOP is the epitome of evil and ignorance; the pure epitome. Not only do they keep advocating lies and ridiculous ideas, but they pass it off as beneficial when all it does it hurt America more and more. They are no longer the party of America; they are the party of evil. They don't look for the good of America; only for their backers, the wealthy. They know nothing about leadership, or governing, or even common sense. I know I am on a rant. This is because I have realized the truth. The GOP has never looked out for the common man. Never. They turned their back on us the moment they sold themselves to the rich under Ronald Reagan and his goddamn supply-side economics. I advise Americans to stop buying the propaganda that the GOP spouts. They claim that we don't need Medicare for seniors, or food stamps for the poor, or even programs to help the middle class. All we need to succeed is to encourage the "job creators" to create more jobs, and all we need to do is give them more of our money. Even if our benefits and the programs that help us need to be cut or dismantled entirely, we should encourage the "job creators" to help us out. They are the future of America; not us, so let us sacrifice ourselves in the hope that they will actually give a damn about us. Rob in Ma, I hope you will remember what I say when this country is destroyed after electing that bastard named Romney and his deadbeat friend Paul "I don't care for the middle class" Ryan. I don't that that will happen, but if it does, may God have mercy on us all.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
DEMOCRATS 2012
SAVE AMERICA FROM THE EVIL RIGHT-WING GOP 2012
"Ryan has a new health care plan and he calls it ( Death ) Don't get Sick" !!!!!
"Take from S.S. & Medicare and give it to the 1%" ( Reaganomics Medicare )
What a perfect match for Romney. Now the presumptive Republican presidential nominee officially owns the most radical and destructive budget proposal ever approved by an arm of Congress. The "Ryan plan" is now most certainly the "Romney plan," and boy do they fit like a glove. Since Romney does not "care" about the poor or middle-class, the Ryan budget fits right in with that toxic ideology. No more Medicare; no more unemployment assistance; no more safety net; no more American Dream.
you forgot most importantly
No More Mooching!
[No More Mooching!]
Raab, not working again today?
Mickey the Moocher
How are you today?
The gap between the rich and poor has widened since the Bush administration.
Doesn't seem like mooching to me, seems more like decimation of the middle class.
Rob--tell it to the oil companies!
Eric - you don't stop a runaway Reagan-Bush-Bush freight train on a dime, much as all the armwaving TeaNuts seem to wanna think is Obama's obligation, or wish it away with the idiotic dream of even more tax cuts. Second term... it's Katie bar the door to all the lousy Baggers, and to Count Ryan, especially!
"Ryan is a Worm, his Endorsement is like an Endorsement from Rush Limbaugh"
Good move -- drive the vast majority of the senior vote out of the Republican Party too. But then -- why not? They already driven out the Hispanics, blacks, main stream Christians, union people, gays, atheist, young people, anyone in New England, anyone on the west coast, women, and just about everyone who isn't old, white, and from the South.
Romney put it best...reagardless of race creed or gender, if you want free handouts from the government, vote for Obama, he is your man.
If you believe in responsibility and freedom and self reliance, vote for Romney.
Oh yeah, Bob, there are no Republicans taking "free handouts," they are all Democrats. Right. And where were "responsibility, freedom, and self-reliance" in 2001-2008?
K2mn - Did you check the unemployment figures from 2001-2007? When the Republicans had Congress.
Not to mention, the money coming into the treasury because of the tax cuts.
There was no "money" coming into the treasury because of the tax cuts. It added $2 trillion to our debt. And is one reason why our national debt doubled under Bush.
http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000
Gee, it looks like before January 2009 when Obama was elected employment went right in the crapper at the hands of Republicans and their starve the beast policies. Good thing Obama could pull it back.
@ Bob in Virginia-5210392 #4.1: I just don't believe Romney said that. I've been reading that quote damn neigh a year now, posted by many different crazies. If one believes in thievery, responsible or sloppy, then one should vote for Romney. if one believes a President should commit random acts of stupidity, along with policies based only on perceptions absent tangible factuality, then one should vote for Romney. Romney is the proverbial "loose Gypsy" in the land of many things not tied down.
Very funny, Bob. The guy who rails against free handouts is the very guy who will give free handouts to the wealthy in the form of bigger tax breaks while cutting benefits to those that need it.
Correction: If you believe in dependence on the wealthy and class inequality and despondency, vote for Romney. If you believe in equal opportunity, freedom, and self-reliance, vote for Obama.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
How about believing in prosperity of the community and good will toward others? I want a country for the people, not an anarchist state.
scare tactics and division
Another great plan by the moonbats
scare tactics and division
You mean like Bush and his Republicans used form 9/11 until he left office (and many still are)???`
I suppose you'll be voting for Obama then, Rob old chap???
Mitt drew 150 individuals to his rally....Santorum drew less ....Newt drew less
Ron Paul just drew 5,200 + to his rally ...It is clear that big business and bankers want status quo...
Ron Paul is the only candidate that offers a solution to everything...
Mitt supports the patriot act , NDAA , SB347 and the police state that Bush set-up and Obama has doubled down on...End the wars...restore sound currency...Ron Paul or a bankrupt AmeriKa
Ron Paul is a good person who never flip flops on anything. There is no room for a decent person in presidential politics.
Ron Paul's problem is that if he got elected, he would not be able to do anything at all. None of his plans would be taken by congress, and none of congress' bills would get signed. And if he tried to do anything by presidential decree then he'll get that stuff overturned by the SCOTUS and get labeled a dictator.
Gotta hand it to him for sticking to his guns though.
Certainly he endorses Romney; they are both for the top 1% and Ryan’s 'austerity' budget finishes the job of gutting the middle class and the senior citizens, so there will only be two classes left in America the rich and the poor.
He is sucking up to Romney because he wants to be the VP pick
Keep up this idiotic "1%" talking point, it only turns off voters..they are sick of the childish class warfare crap....
The richest counties in America surround Washington DC...it is liberal government bureaucrats who are the "1%"
You're right Bob, all this talk about the top 1% really pisses off the voters in the top 1%.
Yeah, Bob, we all feel so sorry for the rich...Republican or Democrats...the poor rich people need more money. Sounds like you may be in the 1%, with your hand out for even more.
Bob, you are wrong yet again. Santorum and Blingrich both live in Fairfax Co. (2nd richest county in America) that directly borders D.C. and is real close to the Lobbyists on K street that have enriched them both. I would also bet a lot of the rich in Fairfax Co. are Defense Contractors who are fairly Conservative.
But, I really do HOPE Fairfax and Northern VA stay DEMOCRATIC... Those NUTS down south in Richmond drive me INSANE!!!
TO: Bob in Virginia-5210392 who wrote:
Sounds like someone in Virginia can't handle the truth.
Obama / Biden 2012
Hey RickyISaPIG, Doesn't Santorum live in Richmond VA ?
Yeah, voters nowadays are sick of the class warfare crap coming from the right, what with tax breaks for the wealthy and cuts for social safety nets.
I'd gladly endorse class warfare; to have a conflict between the classes, both sides need to be fighting. What I see now is class genocide against the poor.
Poor Bob, I feel sorry for him when people correct his stupid mistakes and ridiculous remarks...
Obama Biden 2012
Class warfare my ass.
All I have to say is Obama is kicking Romney's ass in the battleground states!
the establishment lining up to back Romney.. and this will end the problem if Romney is elected? Washington is so corrupt, and no one can stop it... esp Romney. If it puts a dollar in Romney's pocket, he's all for it. Screw the people and families it hurts.
Looks like Rep Ryan is sucking up for the #2 spot on the ticket. This is the same Rep Ryan who took government assistance to pay all of his college education when he took Social Security Benefits after his old man died of a heart attack at an early age. This was better than a college loan as he didn't have to pay it back and he didn't even have to earn it. At the same time he's attacking seniors by trying to privatize Medicare. What a hypocrite. Rep Ryan, give all that unearned government tax money back!
Brad, spare the phony 'hypocrite" card , it is so lame. The moonbats worship Government, they can never limits its growth, it is their religion. The adults like Ryan have to save the country from these zealots.
The fact that Ryan took advantage of government programs doesnt mean squat.
The moonbats loony "hypocrisy" claim: if you drive on a public road, built by government, you can never criticize the Almighty Nanny State ever again!
Fellow Tribalists--Have to get back to the common sense tribe--Leave with one female wag blog who said"any one with a vagina who votes for a Republican should have her head,er,er vagina examined.
Brad, spare the phony 'hypocrite" card , it is so lame. The moonbats worship Government, they can never limits its growth, it is their religion.
Just a few facts for ya:
Bush did nothing to increase private sector jobs. But public sector (i.e. government jobs) increased at an alarming rate (source here). Now, why should we believe that the next Republican administration would be any different?
Washington Times:
George W. Bush rode into Washington almost eight years ago astride the horse of smaller government. He will leave it this winter having overseen the biggest federal budget expansion since Franklin Delano Roosevelt seven decades ago.
History says that Republicans are the fans of big government!
Ryan has been in charge of their campaign coffers, i wonder how much of this is in his pocket? They had to of paid him for his endorsement of Rumnuts. Trust me people, no one wants a Rumnuts as President!!!
The great irony in all this is that as soon as Romney procures the nomination he will erase the etch a sketch and fly back to the "center" so fast the tea will spill. He has no conservative convictions, I don't think he has much in the way of convictions at all, but his instincts are moderate. As a businessman he is by nature results oriented and pragmatic. His presidency if he happens to be elected will look surprisingly similar to his predecessor. The joke will be on the Tea Baggers.
Ryan backs Romney - Big deal... I really think Ryan should be evaluated at Mendota State Mental Hospital. He's not right...
It is kind of ironic that the Godfather of the death of Medicare is endorsing the Godfather of Obamacare.
Thermen...what a GREAT photo!
Thanks. It is the real thing, no Photoshop. I like to post links to it when wing-nuts bitch that President Obama bowed to the Saudi King.
CorpoRATS are people too folks. Put on your seatbelts - it'll be a ride of the century.
In reading some of these posts, FOX must be reporting about the poor rich people needing more. And sadly their viewers must be falling for it. FOX must also be reporting that we horrid Democrats are all on welfare - there are no Republicans with their hands out. And in desperate times, FOX won't let go of the fantasy that President Obama is Kenyan, a Muslim, etc., and their viewers are so filled with hate toward the President of the USA, that they believe it. FOX promotes hatred and lies, and their viewers fall for it all. FOX is partly responsible for the great divide in this country. Murdock stated that his FOX is an entertainment channel...funny, for I don't believe fanning hatred, lies, and pure nonsense is very entertaining. I truly feel sorry for the mislead FOX viewers.
"FOX tabloid Lowlife trash news is the GOP/TPigs power switch"
Economic twins stick together like dry cow pies. Give them a short fling and it's all over. It is not demonstrable that either Romney or Ryan know what they are doing. The least area of strength that both have is relating to human life forms on a human level. They perceive that America has natural resources and human resources, both exploitable and discardable. The chief end of man is money and celebrity, the rest is goo.
Again our country is in bad shape due to years of mismanagement and inexperience in true Leadership. Both parties have played their part to some extent. But facts are facts....Since 1933 the handout crowd has been in control of all of congress 28 terms ( 56 Years ) to the working crowds 7 terms ( 14 years ). Now again please explain to me how any of you goofs can point any fingers at the mean old Republicans for our woes. Get a clue, know the facts, and start acting like an adult before you just spread non informed statements. Now go get in line for your handout while Nancy & Harry tell you how great they are. They have been completely in charge for a total of 56 years! Clueless!!
Bears, the Hand out crowd REALLY? I suppose you are of the Scrooge opinion " are there no prisons? and the union workhouses are they not still in operation?" Do you really want America to be the land of ME? I GOT MINE. GET YOUR OWN. What an heroic and uplifting place this will be. Lets privatize everything, the military, the police, the roads, everything. We can all get lots of guns and fend for ourselves. Might makes right. How inspiring.
Oats - No not that radical. There is a big difference between those that need and those that expect. The problem; we are creatinga big "expect crowd" that believes it that is their right to get something for nothing vs. earning it. The examples are all over. We spend more on education then any other industrial society yet we are going backwards. Sunday we will have the highest taxed corporate rate in the world to pay for the handout crowd. At what point do you say enough is enough? Let charity do its work, let government help those who really need it for a specified time vs. caring for those who choose not to take care of themselves. The victim stuff has to stop or we all are doomed. And by the way if their is a union workhouse as you indicate, there is a lawyer on every corner & the EEOC to deal with it. They would not be in business long so I don't buy it.
Bears34 - For someone that wants claims other here are clueless, you need to quit making stuff up to support your own illogical conclusions, or quit regurgitating the "facts" others that think for you tell you are true. We spend the most on education from an absolute perspective, but that is not an accurate way to portray the effect - you have to look at how much is spent per person. We currently run behind Canada, France, and Columbia as a percentage of GDP. We are second to Norway from a per capita perspective.
And you say we're going backwards? When did that start, 12, maybe 20 years ago? Hmmm, wonder which party has had the white house most of those years...
"... The victim stuff has to stop or we are all doomed..." Ummm, how are you NOT sounding like a victim there?
Thanks Skeptic for making my point! I don't care who the President was and neither should you. Congress controls everything. They make law, they regulate, they spend the money period! They can even override a veto if the numbers are there. The true ownership of just about everything in this country belongs to Congress. The President is the supreme leader but has very little true authority to make much happen. It all sits right there with your 56 years of Democratic control. Fact are facts now go back to Government 101 before you pop off about anyone's credentials.
bears - it sure didn't take 56 years! Look at the numbers
The numbers are readily available here: National Debt by year 2000-2010
2001 - (first Bush budget year) national debt = $5.8T
2009 - (last Bush budget year) national debt = $11.9T
It only took George W. Bush and Dick Cheney with a Republican majority (6 out of 8 years) 8 years to double our national debt. They spent money like drunken sailors! No matter what you say about "liberal" spenders, nobody in the entire history of this country has ever spent money like Republicans!
I am from WI and used to think Ryan was actually an ideas person but this last budget just shows how stupid he is and how I guess he drank the cool-aid like they all do. Cut education, cut infrastructure investment and lets buy more bombs and give some more cuts to the rich. The Republicans are committing suicide as there are not enough religious right middle aged white men to elect anybody in this country. I am in the top 15 to 20% of wage earners in this country and white and middle aged but I can't support republicans any more, they are mean and it is the party of the inquisition. Less government not more and keep your religion and your beliefs out of my face because I believe in the 2nd ammendment and I will blow your right wing nazi @!$%# away.
It's quite obvious the Republican Party elite want this primary fiasco to be over....yesterday. So they get in front of the microphone with their talking points about how Romney is the best candidate to beat the President. Because after all, that's been their main goal all along. And that's the end of their ringing endorsement. Yesterday it was Rubio, today it's Ryan's turn. Everybody genuflect to Rove and go out and do what you're told. All the while , losing all the women and latino voters. Romney doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell in November. C'mon all you rightwingers, get on the winning side.....there's still time. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rommel endorses Hitler? WAKEUPAMERICA.
"Ryan looks like Hitler"
Another CORPORATE PUPPET backing ETCH-A-SKETCH! Birds of a feather flock together! AIN'T IT THE TRUTH!!
Let's just see if ETCH-A-SKETCH can compete with our illustrious President! The fact is he couldn't make a pimple on OUR PRESIDENT'S BUTT! Once a corporate puppet, ALWAYS A CORPORATE PUPPET!
You have a moral obligation to help as an individual....
Government is not the solution, it is the problem.
What and who are the solutions? The 1% that have been given tax breaks for the past ten years and refused to come to help the country during the financial break down or the 1% that did nothing to help to fuel economy recovery by employing instead of hoarding their million dollars in foreign banks accounts. The government has the right to come to the aid of her citizens in emergency situations and that's what this government did - not big government. Talking about BIG government - think about the one who created a giant Homeland Security Dept. - do you know how much that dept. is taking from the budget? That is what you should call big government spending. The recovery that you are enjoying now is fueled by this government, saving a lot of jobs by not allowing companies to go bankrupt. THINK BIG but ACT SMALL always - that what this government is all about.
I hope to never hear these two words in the same sentence. republican and conservative.
Nowadays, "republican and conservative" is an oxymoron.
Obama / Biden 2012
"Conservative = Warmongers & Hate"
One dog turd endorsing another, no big surprise!
A quick question. If you are in debt do you go to your employer and ask for a pay cut? That seems to be the republican way of doing things. We owe money so lets give tax cuts, regardless of the fact that there is every indication that's what got us here in the first place. (plus of course two unpaid for wars that have been going on for a decade
)Let's tax everything the same, pick a level 10, 15 20 percent whatever, butthat tax will be taken on every form of income including dividends.
By the way social security taxes are paid on whatever you make, no upper limits. (Dividends also)
By the way social security taxes are paid on whatever you make, no upper limits. (Dividends also)
Well, that's nonsense! From here
This limit changes each year with changes in the national average wage index. We call this annual limit the contribution and benefit base. For earnings in 2012, this base is $110,100.
