Subscribe to RSSHOUSTON, Texas – Formalizing a decision he made last December, former President George H. W. Bush made official today his endorsement of presidential candidate Mitt Romney during a joint appearance in Houston.
"Barbara and I are very proud to fully and enthusiastically endorse and support our old friend, Mitt Romney," Bush told reporters gathered at his 9th-floor office for the four-minute event. "He's a good man. He'll make a great president and we just wish him well. We're delighted he's here."
Bush, 87, first signaled his support for Romney in a December interview with the Houston Chronicle, telling the paper he thought Romney was a "fine person" and "the best choice for us."
As Romney completed a two-day fundraising swing through the Lone Star State, the two men, along with former First Lady Barbara Bush, gathered before the television cameras to make the endorsement official.
Bush joined a recent chorus of Republicans, including Senator Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican who endorsed Romney last night, to come off the sidelines and signal their support and it was time to end the distracting primary fight and for Republicans to focus on beating President Barack Obama this fall.
"I do think the time for the party to get behind Governor Romney," Bush said today, his legs crossed to reveal sharp-looking lavender socks. "With no further ado, here's the man."
Mrs. Bush also had high praise for Romney's wife, Ann, predicting she would be "the greatest first lady. Next to Laura." Laura Bush is her daughter-in-law.
By all accounts, the former president and Romney have been friendly for years, and in a statement today, Romney referred to the former president as his "mentor." The two share mostly moderate records, the experience of growing up in well-to-do, politically-connected families (Bush's father was a U.S. senator; Romney's a governor of Michigan), and even some advisers.
Wrapping up the brief on-camera chat, Bush predicted Romney would "do well" in Texas's May 29th Primary. Romney told reporters that he had not met with Bush’s son, former President George W. Bush, during his time in Texas. The younger Bush lives in Dallas.
“You know, I haven’t met with President George W. Bush,” Romney said. “We speak from time to time.”

So the thing to determine is do they really support him or is this a sort of kiss of death because anytime anyone with the last name of bush says something I have to seriously reconsider voting for someone else. To me it might as well be some gangster endorsing him or someone even worse. It is like the unibomber coming out and endorsing a candidate. That is what it means to me anyway. So again is it to help or hurt him??

Lavender socks... Guess he's the real deal. Do some investigating into the Bush family if you want to find out some really interesting info. Like his connections with the intelligence communities going back to his college days (talking George senior). His fathers exploits. His Zapata Oil company, which made little or no money but had offices around the world. His phone call to the FBI on the day of the JFK assassination. He turned in a young man who was working for him politically as being suspicious. However, he made sure that one of his minions dropped by to see the guy during the time of the assassination so he would have an alibi. Why? Who the hell knows? But it is one interesting family.
Is this guy still alive? Here's another Bush with the stroke of his pen on legislation he was able to cause the death of 100,000 or more people. This trait runs in the family. Citizen of the world will be safer without the Bush family being able to sign legislation.

America had Traditional Values like the WWII Great Generation had until the liberal 1988 G.O.P. blind sided the Moral Majority. Those "Father Knows Best"- "Ozzie and Harrriet" days had no metal detectors, lower crime rates, respect for life in schools, lower taxes and lower cost of living. With G.O.P. intent and collusion with communstic Democrats, America now has legal loan sharking, legal corporate extortions and chaos in all American culture. The post Reagan GOP compromised true WWII Generation values thus Americans must vote for the lesser of two ungodly evils. America might want to restore those values and find less chaos society had created.

Why would he if he supports RomneyCare, he is not telling the truth.2) Most decisions Romney made as Govenor was liberal, not conservative. So, what make you think he will be conservative all of a sudden?3) Romney lost to McCain by a landslide last GOP Primary, and McCain lost to Obama by a landslide. I always liked Bush Sr. He bucked the establishment by raising taxes when they needed to be increased and he was smart enough to know not to invade Iraq during the first Gulf War. Newt Gingrich threw him under the bus and put a major obstacle in the way of his re-election effort.

Well at last we now know who the power behind the throne will be if Mittens is elected .
All must remember that G.H.W.B. was not a nice guy. He is and was one of dirtiest presidents we have had . Look back at his past . Oil Barron, fruit company big shot and a whole lot more . There is also a story about seven million in gold missing that may have been diverted to him. OH yeah we will be tn great hands if Mittens wins .
