Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising star in the Republican Party and a favorite among conservatives to round out the party's ticket this fall, endorsed Mitt Romney for president on Wednesday evening.
Rubio's endorsement is a marker of support that many candidates had sought. It comes at a point in the campaign at which Romney has sought to coalesce Republicans behind his candidacy.
"I don't have a problem with primaries, but I think we're at a stage now where at least two of the candidates have admitted that the only way to get the nomination is to have a floor fight at the convention," Rubio said before announcing his support for Romney on Fox News.
"It’s increasingly clear that Mitt Romney’s going to be the Republican nominee,” Rubio said, adding: “We’ve got to come together behind who I think has earned this nomination and that’s Mitt Romney.”
Romney has spoken highly of Rubio in the past, describing him most recently as an example of "the American Dream" in an appearance Tuesday on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show."
Rubio has been a favorite among conservatives since his Senate bid in 2010, in which he managed to best moderate Florida Gov. Charlie Crist in the Republican primary, and eventually, in the general election (in which Crist ran as an independent).
Since his election, Rubio has been cautious on national issues. He waited months before delivering his maiden speech in the chamber, and had generally demurred on questions of national politics, instead emphasizing his focus on Florida issues.
But there has been undeniable hype surrounding his potential selection as a running mate to the eventual Republican nominee.
"It's not going to happen," the Florida senator said Wednesday on MSNBC. "I'm obviously flattered that people think about me that way. There are some things I'd like to get done here in the United States Senate. I'm enjoying the role that we have here."

Rubio additionally said on Wednesday evening that while he has spoken with Romney throughout the primary, the topic of the vice presidency never came up as a topic.
To that end, Rubio pushed up the release date of an autobiography to early this summer (a less favorable biography by a reporter is expected later this summer). His campaign finance reports also showed he had hired a firm to conduct opposition research on his past — mirroring the kind of vetting process a potential vice presidential candidate might face.
The potential of having Rubio on the ticket has stoked Republican optimism that the party's nominee might fare better among Latino voters; the GOP has lagged among this key voting bloc in several recent national polls. A Fox News Latino poll released earlier this month found that 24 percent of Latino voters would be more likely to support the Republican ticket if Rubio were the vice presidential nominee; 51 percent said it would make no difference, and 14 percent said they would be less likely to vote for a ticket on which Rubio served as the vice presidential pick.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who endorsed Romney for president, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review last week that Romney should pick Rubio as his running mate.
"He is the best orator of American politics today, a good family man. He is not only a consistent conservative, but he has managed to find a way to communicate a conservative message full of hope and optimism," he said.

Another reason why gas prices are so high is too keep people from donating their money to the charities that help bring in extra money that goes towards research that funds many types of cancer research as well as helping those here in the U.S. and across the planet by being able to purchase clothes, medicines, food and education for those in third world countries.
Now you wonder how does supporting overseas missions to help the less fortunate counter terrorism?
It is very easy to see.
The terrorists come into a village and force the villagers to be warriors killing those who go against them. The terrorists then use the fighters against their to kill others who do not fall under the will of the terrorist regime.
but...when donations are collected and then used to purchase medicines, food and clothes for the same village where the money has come from the pockets of Americans the villagers will be given a chance to live a life based upon choice and not being forced to do the bidding of the terrorist warlord that would only use them to kill others.
Now is the time to create a new front against terrorism.
Whenever someone calls and asks for a donation even though the amount may seem high and not affordable the amount that you donate is part of the war on terror that will push back terrorism by giving those that the terrorists would use in their killing machine the ability to make a choice in siding with democracy instead of being forced to be a suicide bomber.
If you cannot afford the amount asked for donate at least $5.00.
Be a Charity Warrior in the fight against global terrorism and support the charities that are trying to make the lives of people in third world countries better....don't let the Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces get to them first.
Every amount that you donate to any charity makes you a fighter against global terrorism.

The "rising stars in the Republican Party" seem to have a very short shelf life -- people like Pamin, Bachmann, Pawleny, Bobby Jindal, to mention a few. I doubt Ribio will last much longer that the rest of them. What Republicans need most are new IDEAS, and new SOLUTIONS -- not the same old tat cuts/deregulation tune that failed under Bush and his Republican Congress.

Probably the last time any presidential election was in any way effected by the VP candidate was in 1961 with Kennedy/Johnson. Probably the only person the teapublicans hate more than Mitt Romney is President Obama and I doubt that will change much based on who he selects as his running mate.
Can't wait for rubio to be a candidate for VP. The national press that won't give in to miami's mafia will have a field day. Rubio (who lied about his parents fleeing Cuba to escape Castro) only adds another inconsequintial endorsement to an already "out of touch" candidate.

Interesting comment made by Mark Halprin this morning... He said you can't really call them gaffes anymore. They're so common that you have to resign yourself to the fact that that's who Romney is and he says what he feels.
He also says he gives his campaign folks fits when he's out there "relating".

Wow it amazes me the kind of hate mongers that use the bible as a platform to spew hate. Not to mention if you actually read the bible jesus layed down the 1 comandment that was "Love everyone as i have loved you". The old testement was a testament to the failure of the isrialites to uphold the 10 comandments and all the rules set down by god in judges. So he sent Jesus to set up a new covanent with everyone, and the only rule he set down was to "Love one another". Not to mention he specificly says not to go into churches and pray in front of other people. Not to go into churches and spout your good deeds in front of other people. Hewbrews says the testament of a man is no good in life, only in death dose it hold any real power.
So anyone who goes to church, anyone who dosn't love eachother as Jesus loved everyone is actually going against the teachings of the bible. Anyone who gives their testamony to another person is also going against the teachings of the bible. People who claim to be christians in this country do all these things that are against the teachings of Jesus. Our bodys are our temple, so how could you go to a church and claim to be a christian? Here's another example of Romney's less than intelligent decisions. In the midst of a presidential campaign and the 1%-er v. the 99-er% fight going on, he decides he's going to demolish his La Hoya home and build a 12 million dollar mansion. It's advertised as an single family home of 8,000 square feet and will have a four car garage (2 bays for his wife's Cadillacs and one for the pick-up truck and whatever else he runs around in) and a car elavator. Kinda re-defines the single-home concept for me.
Of course, he has every right to do whatever he wants with his money and property. But one has to question his wisdom and thinking process to do this now. I know he likes to fire people and I know he makes no apologies for being successful, and he claims residency in every state within which he campaigns, his wife has two Cadillacs, etc... On their face, those things are fine. Given the current state of affiars iin the country, they are not very smart things to be touting.

Who is Rubio? Is he that unknown cuban, who lied about his parents fighting Castro, when all the time they were in the USA. Gee Marco I'm sure we can believe everything you say. He's a tea party favorite. That shows you the trust we can put in the tea party. I'm not an Obama fan but this year the repubs are ridiculous by putting Romney in the forefront. If this is the best they have, this country's in trouble.
