Romney gets GOP House leader's endorsement

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has announced he is endorsing Mitt Romney to be the Republican presidential nominee. McCarthy becomes the second member of House Republican leadership to do so, after House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) announced his endorsement of Romney on Meet the Press on March 4th. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has not waded into the race.

McCarthy will also act as the California Statewide Chair for the Romney campaign.

"After a long and grueling primary, it is clear that Mitt Romney is the best candidate to face President Obama and fix the mess of his one and only term," McCarthy said in a statement. "Republicans need to unite and work together if we plan to take back the White House and put in place policies that will get our nation back on a path to prosperity by reducing taxes, shrinking government, and empowering the private sector. I am proud to support Mitt Romney and urge my fellow Republicans to do the same."

Still on the fence John? Playing it safe as usual. Now there's some leadership for you...

Well, ditto the whoop-tee-do! One of the GOP leader tandum of Tweedledum and Tweedledee says Mitt it It. Meanwhile, Speaker Boehner continues failing to get his caucus to support even bi-partisan legislation passed by the Senate 74-22. Maybe that's why Tweedledee spoke up.

Cry-baby Boehner is going to do whatever he's told to do. He's just waiting for the puppet master to give him the command.

............ McCarthy will also act as the California Statewide Chair for the Romney campaign.

That's a job that won't require a lot of time. I would liken backing a republican in CA to fighting a forest fire with a squirt bottle.

Sorry to burst your bubble, sweetie, but I am an independent. Just love the way the GOP always falls into line. Just like the Dems are famous (infamous, perhaps) for in fighting.

Not that either of them know what a majority whip is anyway - but I can understand why they would try to deflect attention away from a majority whip of one of the most unpopular congresses in our nation's history endorsing their lying little Princess Mittsy.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. The Republicans are lining up behind mega millions Mitt, because they think he's their only hope.

Wonder who thought running the wealthy, Massachusetts governor who spearheaded the precursor to Obamacare, which Republicans claim threatens our "freedoms," was the best choice for a Republican candidate, post-financial crisis 2008?

With less than stellar performances in Congress by Gingrich, Santorum, and Paul it makes sense to back the new guy, the one without skeletons in the Congressional closet.

Romney is perfect. He is the puppet that Norquist said was all they needed.

When your plan is to destroy America, you certainly don't want a thinking president to get in your way. Lord knows that Romney doesn't know what he thinks anymore, he just says what they tell him like in the case of the Blunt Amendment.

The Ryan plans says it all. All for the rich and nothing for the people, even our veterans. If you know the republicans will toss aside the veterans when they are done with them. Imagine what will happen to you when they no longer need your vote to destroy America for the 1%.

Whoopty do, whoopty do. All of the GOP hierarchy will line up behind Mittens in the next month. They want this crazy primary season over. I would be very worried if I were a Republican about the extremely low turnouts Romney has inspired. I would also be extremely worried about Ohio and Virginia. But Santorum keeps saying strange things, so go with your best loser - hope to get at least 45 to 46% so you don't lose the House. That is the GOP dilemma. Really their only chance at victory in the presidential race is to orchestrate some type of economic disaster, which they would gladly do if they could. Just saying they could have created a faster recovery is pathetic. Reagan is the only Republican that ever presided over a recovery. Republican and Recession are long time companions. W. did his best to make that association Republican and Depression. Yes, strangling the lower middle class to kill demand for goods and services - that is the GOP tradition since the gilded age.

"Romulian Romney" is getting the endorsement of "Bonehead Boehner" the leader of the "Hoodlum's On The Hill." What a joke America! Maybe the "Romulian" took "Bonehead Boehner" back to his home planet of Romulus and had "Chump Change Cheney" waterboard him? One never knows America.

They even had the audacity to spit on our Congressman, with Bachmann leading the charge. It's really unbelievable the lengths these people will go to.They will try to unravel this election mark my words, just like they did in 2000. LOSERS,ALL OF THEM! OBAMA-BIDEN 2012 J-MAL

“I find it unconscionable that the Republican leadership, faced with a 1.5 trillion deficit, could possibly believe that good public policy is to maintain tax cuts for the top 2 percent of the population who, after all, have benefited enormously from this phony boom we’ve had over the last 10 years as a result of the casino on wall street.
