FRANKSVILLE, Wis. -- What started as a good day for Rick Santorum took an abrupt turn on Sunday after the GOP presidential candidate grew frustrated with reporters asking him to clarify his remark that Mitt Romney is the worst Republican in the country to take on President Obama.
During his final campaign stop of the day here, Santorum said of Romney, “Pick any other Republican in the country, he is the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama." The comments, Santorum would clarify, were in reference to the similarities between Romney's and the president on the issue of health care. It is a common critique he levels against his chief rival, but never has the former Pennsylvania senator called Romney the "worst Republican in the country" to go head-to-head with the president.
When pressed by reporters to clarify his statement, Santorum said, “On the issue of health care. That’s what I was talking about, and I was very clear about talking about that. OK? Come on guys, don’t do this. I mean you guys are incredible. I was talking about Obamacare, and he is the worst because he was the author of Romneycare.”
But the questions struck a chord with Santorum, and when he faced the same question again, he used a profane word and accused the media of "distorting" his speech.
The Washington Post's Dan Balz and MSNBC political analyst Karen Finney review presidential candidate Rick Santorum losing his cool following a Wisconsin speech.
However a press release sent out from the Santorum campaign shortly after the rally here seemed to double down on the candidate's comments. "Rick Santorum spoke plainly and clearly that of all the Republicans in the field, Mitt Romney is the worst possible candidate to take on Barack Obama, because Mitt Romney authored the blueprint for Obamacare and the issue of healthcare would be off the table," the release said.
Santorum has done a lot of clarifying lately, with recent comments suggesting Obama would be a better choice than Romney in a general election and saying the unemployment rate will not affect his campaign. In both cases, he accused the media and his opponents of taking his words out of context. But in both cases, the Romney campaign used his own words against him.
Sunday's remarks were no exception, with Romney spokesperson Ryan Williams telling reporters, “Rick Santorum is becoming more desperate and angry and unhinged every day...He’s panicking in the final stages of his campaign.”
Before his last event, Santorum had been all smiles on the trail the day after receiving nearly double the amount of support Romney did in the Louisiana primary. Along with two rallies today, the GOP hopeful also fit in brunch at the Machine Shed and, for the second time in as many days, a few frames of bowling. In an earlier rally in Fond du Lac, WI, Santorum drew an overflow crowd.
But by Sunday's end, Romney advisers were using the hash tag "Tantorum" to draw attention to past instances of the former senator losing his cool. The response blasted out by the Santorum campaign no mention of his use of a not so family friendly word.
Santorum heads to Washington, DC where he will spend Monday before returning to the Badger State later in the week.

If you can't handle the press without resorting to profanity, maybe you can't handle the pressure of the Presidency.
He said bulls@#$, nothing to get anyone's panties in a twist.
Joe,
the point is that he can't keep his cool in the lightest of stressful situations. How would he handle tense negotiations with not so friendly nations? Missiles? War?
Santorum's claim to the Oval Office is that he will set a good moral example-- I guess now we know that he wouldn't.
Santorum comes across as being mentally unbalanced. Anyone who challenges his beliefs becomes a potential threat for him, so he resorts to name calling and immature behavior where he acts like a kid in school who will bully others into accepting him. He tried to shove his religion down the throats of Americans, not taking into consideration that we live in a society that respects all religions. Then he caters to the social conservatives by attacking women and contraception, even going so far as to suggest that college destroys a woman's role in life which is to marry, have a family and to stay at home. Santorum comes short of being nothing more than hypocritical in his lack of understanding and concern for what really goes on in the lives of most Middle Class Americans. Americans are sick and tired of war, the country is bankrupt because of Repub policies and agendas, yet he wants voters to believe that health care for all, jobs and retirement security are not as important as more wars and defense.
When he sees those who favor Romney because of his moderation, he can't handle it with maturity, so he attacks. The problem that Romney has is that he's a moderate who pretends to be a "severe conservative" as compared to Santorum. With these 2 as front-runners, Obama only looks more presidential and credible.
Plain and simple this guy is way out of his league.
Plain and simple, the guy needs to get a divorce, reject his kids, and join a monastery. Monkdom is the one profession he may even begin to be qualified for.
Somehow, I suspect that Barry has used the bull-word during his tenure as POTUS. He probably even used the bull-word once or twice during the 2008 primary campaign.
If this the limit of Rick losing his cool, I personally wouldn't get hot and bothered over it. My issue is with his policy positions.
Saying "bull$hit" is no big deal whatsoever. (What?-- we'd rather he had said "bovine feces"?) However, the content of Santorum's words is up for analysis & criticism.
leavingBB stop getting jealous that your knight in shining vest is going to loose to your friend who believes corporation are people my friend and then your is going to loose to your Barry Potus.
And the clown show continues...
What would really be profane? Putting the words "president" and "Santorum" together in the same sentence...
I saw Rick Santorum on the Playboy channel the other night. He was the guy with the 15 inch dick. I just can't figure out how he got it in is mouth.
I'm definitely no fan of Santorum, however it is a bit of a stretch to say that this incident reveals a flaw in his temperament that would make him an unfit commander in chief. I do think his policies in general would make him an unfit President, but this is just a gaffe. He probably needs to get more sleep.
Yeah, Rick. You can dish it out but you can't take it. You can pounce on the Etch-a-sketch comment, which was clearly meant to state that every president, whether Democrat or Republican, has to bend to a certain extent with whatever Congress will allow him to do, but you can't take it when the media pounce on another one of your inane comments. You are lucky that the media have treated you as gently as they have. It's time that they stop treating you with kid cloves and start holding you accountable for every backwards, idiotic remark you make.
Santorum and Romney are both morons.... it's a frightening prospect that either might possibly be president of the United States.
No more frightening than another four years of Obama.
Over the weekend I was watching the press conference of President Obama with the President of South Korea. And I asked myself..Could I imagine a President Cain with his superfly hat and becke, becke..stan..statements standing there, totaling embarrassing the country, or perhaps Romney, or Gingrich telling the South Koreans that our policy will be an ultimatum. for North Korea, Iran and Syria ..jump on board or we'll bomb the sh#t out of you. Or perhaps Santorum will offer prayers and the intervention of Jesus or the Holy Spirit to straighten the problem out.
You would think as much as we need a POTUS now, something powerful and with good intent for the citizen's (legal one's) of the United States would emerge. Not Sarah Palin trying to cash in on her comedy act or Donald Trump. Someone real. 4 more years of what we have and this country is finished.
LOL - He is the ultra-conservative evangelical Republican candidate and he dropped a wordy-dird on TV? Expect to see more of this on The Daily Show this week.
Obama had the fawning media on his side, never being asked any tough questions, and never having to qualify his bizaar and over-the-top statements like "I will bankrupt the coal industry and make utility prices necessarily skyrocket".
Then there was the " We need a civilian national security force that's just as strong, just as well funded as the military".
How about when he suggested that the military cover the cost of their own healthcare.
If he had been a conservative, the media would have called him a lunatic, but Obama was, and still is, handles with kid gloves.
We have no media...only a leftist propaganda machine.
Santorum once again displays his ineptitude and resorts to childish behavior. Nothing new here. Between moronic Mitt and snarky Santorum - the GOP is in a real mess when it comes to likeability in a candidate.
TommyLee;
Our country and the world as we know it are already finished. It will not matter who is the President for the next 4 years. It was left in such a mess by all the deregulation that we will never recover.
face it timetraveler, obama can speak and sound much more educated than the 4 stooges you have running on the gop, romney seems to be the only one who can keep his cool and seem somewhat presidential yet most of you far righters cant stand him
Saying bullsh*t is not really a big deal to me, in fact, it's practically a non-swear in my book. There is indeed a lot of bullsh*t going on at all times, and there are few words that capture it so well.
It's still funny that choirboy let it slip like Ralphy in The Christmas Story.
Now what would have been EXCELLENT is if he threw down something truly filthy. Oh man, can you imagine that? Hohoho.
not a troll - One thing is for certain, Obama can REALLY give a heck of a speech. He has a great speaking voice and delivery. He gives a better speech than most.
The problem is that he speaks half truths, untruths, distortions, deflections, insults to Americans he doesn't agree with, apologies to foreign countries and the rest is just Marxist rhetoric to stir up class warfare.
But yeah, he gives a great speech.
While marching in the GOP clown parade, every time Tricky Ricky gets a little elephant excrement on his big floppy shoes, he becomes unglued and drops his seltzer bottle. I'm not inclined to hand over the launch codes of our strategic forces to someone that thin-skinned and unstable.
Screw you libs and your press. Odumbo has been "hands-off" from the press for 4 years. I would rather have a leader who can show some emotion than a speech reading smoothie that accomplishes nothing. There are plenty of POTUS quotes the press could go after, you know, insist on clarification, if they were unbiased. Don't see much of that going on.
I love how anything said in support of the lower incomes/workers equals marxist rhetoric. That's my favorite. It's like we're in a time machine back to the Cold War.
The self proclaimed "morality man" lost the "moral" high ground..
Sounds like someone needs a bed time. Yes he does. Yes he does.. Peek a boo. Peek a boo. Where did he go? Where did he go? Yes he did... Yes he did... Pwwwwwuuuhhh. [belly burping]
Cheers
This is the idiot that Pennsylvania finally kicked to the curb. This guy thinks the country should be governed like he runs his own family. He apparently is not aware that the citizens of the country are not as submissive as his wife and kids. The very fact the he even thinks he could be president is proof of his poor mental state. He's always been unhinged. Plainly stated, the guy is a crackpot!
Hello Shuklak and ani4ani,
Fox tabloidal news would be more to your liking and intelligence level. Please move on and ask yourself this... What happened to Osama? Sure, your friends in the GOP would have kept him alive to continue to increase our national debt. Sorry, you lose. An intellectual in the Whitehouse provokes a revolt among the Bible belt conservs? Does anyone else see the real issue here?
It's really pathetic that the Republicans couldn't find a suitable candidate for president this time around. The November election will be just about the most ho-hum boring election in decades, since Obama will barely even have a challenger. The GOP has really screwed the pooch this time with these buffoon candidates.
it's got so anymore these campaign reporters really suck.
If your point is that Rawmoney would make a better President than Sanctimodium, forget it.
Has there a Presidential candidate at any time during the last 50 years who did NOT get irritated with members of the press at one time or another?
Didn't think so. While I disagree with so many of his policies, I admire Santorum's personal integrity in saying what he believes, even if what he beleves is garbage.
Romney on the other hand spouts the exact same policies as Santorum, and it's impossible to tell which ones he really believes in because he is the biggest, most hypocritical liar to walk on the American political stage since, well, I can't think of ANYBODY who was a bigger hypocrite than Mitt.
Hi I am Rick Santorum. I have a health care plan, its called "Do nothing" and whatever you do.. don't get sick, because no one will help you. When is this clown going to step off the national stage?
The country's finished? Really?? People have been saying this for presidential elections since forever. The country is not finished, it's simply reconsidering the "faux" conservatism of the last 40 years.
Obama is a Harvard Law Professor - he had to demonstrate an ability to grasp reality, solve problems, work well with difficult people, and etc. He is totally more qualified than Santorum, Romney, Gingrich and all, to be POTUS.
One nice thing about Obama - He is who he says he is - he has pushed the platform he was elected on, he has tried to include Republican ideas (not the Republican agenda), and he has patiently dealt with the opposition. I would pick this over the Bush as Cheney's (oil, military, halliburton) puppet any day of the week. (Or Romney as the puppet of Bain Capital and Wall Street)
Yes, if Sanitorium can't keep his cool now he would be a major fail as the prez- go away please!
@timetravler100
And just what would you consider all the attention (and thus credence) the media gave to his birth certificate authenticity? Or his "muslim" beliefs? Or his ties to the Weathermen? Or whether or not he actually attended Harvard? You really think Obama's getting a free pass by the media? Maybe you should travel back in time and check up on some of these Obama-friendly stories.
Look, I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until everybody understands: There is NO liberal media. There is NO conservative media. There is only CORPORATE media. And they will dog any story that will garner ratings that will snag them advertising revenue that will inflate their bottom line. That's it. That's all there is to it. The bottom line. And with a 24 hour news cycle, they need to have crazy, outlandish, fear mongering headlines to get the average joe to tune in. In the eyes of the corporate media, if it ain't sensationalism, then it ain't news!
So yeah, Santorum said bull-pucky - a word I'm sure 99% of adults have heard and used are not offended by - but the media will blow it all outta proportion to get you to watch, read, click, whatever because they need to deliver your eyes (and hopefully) your pocketbook to their advertisers. And what better way to do it than to infuriate you or scare the snot out of you?
Corporate media, folks. Not right. Not left. CORPORATE!
It is not so much that he used the word BS I am fine with that I wish a president could call BS every once in awhile. The problem is that he calls BS on himself, he says something then when pressed about his very own words he calls BS, and tries to claim he did not say what he clearly said. Now that is some real BS when you do that.
LOL @ Santorum. He mad.
BTW: Pick any Republican, Teabagger or GOP, and they have 0 chance of beating Obama.
4 years is not enough to forget 8 years of Dubbya.
"Santorum lose his cool a long time ago when he made his kids sleep with his dead baby to say their goodbyes". This Nuts insanity is beyond Weird.
Not very Catholic-like, is it?
Warhammer,
...and 99% of women used contraception but Santorum is so offended by the word to the point where he would like to see contraception illegal.
Typical republican. They are all a bunch of no good liars, out to ruin the country for the working class people, even more now. Like they already haven't ruined this country enough til now, but theres still people out there that will vote for them, some even voted two times for Dubya, lmfao. Now thats just plain assinine there. But hey thats their right, they don't have to make the correct choice when they vote, just vote. If this guys elected, I'll have to leave the country. Its bad enough right now with the congress, senate, etc. If it gets any worse I won't believe it will ever get back to what its suppose to stand for.
Why not? Righty got their pants in a twist because Obama told a heckler they were rude !!!
"Santorum has a very dangerous mind, would you put this Nut next to the "N" button"
Personally, I like to hear a candidate with a little fire in his belly. A lot better than the one's who will say anything just to keep folks happy.
Rick Santorum is going to end up with a nasty case of "athletes tongue" compounded by lead poisoning if he keeps shooting himself in the foot, while both of his feet are in his mouth....just ask Rick Perry!
Way to go, so all those Christians can no longer support a man like that at all Right? I meant it, RIGHT!--They never behave un-Christan like ever, RIGHT? They never kill other religious people(just because of their religion), RIGHT, only if those deserve it like those Muslims, Catholics, Lutherans and Communists (most of EU) Right?
Biden and Obama exchanged much worse language. So has everyone on this blog. Get a grip.
I agree with "Commonsense"#1.33: Santorum will gladly expose His nuttiness. Romney, on the other hand, is an absolute liar of unremarkable accomplishment.
mrwarmth
Because people like Santorum are the first ones to tell the rest of us how to live our lives. You know, like who we should go home to. So if he is going to preach about MORALITY, he should lead by example. But I guess lying is ok. I guess getting mad at reporter for bringing up the inconvinient topic is ok, too.
Santorum looses his cool? I never realized he even had any.
Awwww ... poor Frothy Mixture had a temper tantrum ... typical conservitard but he's too dense to get that if he can't stand the heat, get the f**k out of the fire ...
Before reading this comment thread, I would have bet that the profane word in question was "santorum." ;-)
TO: leavingBB who wrote:
Hum, too bad "Barry" isn't running for the Republican Nomination where one of the qualifications is that your nominee must be "Holier than thou"!
As for what President Obama has or has not said, clearly, you will never know, but I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts that Dick Cheney and George Bush often had fits of profanity, and they have NO SHAME about it.
Obama / Biden 2012
The quality of candidates running for the highest office in the world is depressing.
Can we please get the talking bobble heads out of the election process from both sides of the aisle?
Jeezum crow, there has to be a least one smart reasonable person in this country capable of running a campaign where actual problems are debated and possible solutions proposed so that we can get a clear idea of what that candidate would do if they were given the power....right? C'mon, not even one? This is really the best y'all could come up with? Santorum? Newt? Romney?
Crap we're all screwed.
This reminds me of when Bush and Cheney called that New York Times reporter an a-hole. And when Cheney went on the Senate floor and told Senator Leahy "Go f*** yourself."
Hard to believe that so many people have nothing good to say of Rom. or San. or Gin. But people continue to vote for these candidates Is unbelievable. This is the most ridiculous election I have seen in 40 yrs.
How about Vice President? Or is being drunk in public and using profanity OK for that position?
Eventually people will learn it really doesn't matter who the president is. Keep fighting over who you think is worse.
I don't understand why liberals are so against religion and structure but then want the government to structure their entire lives. Seems to me the difference between a liberal and a conservative really boils down to saying "I am free to do what I want but the government needs to be responsible for my actions" or "I shouldn't have the freedom to do anything I want, because I am responsible for my own actions".
That being said, as far as this article, keep in mind that his reaction was to the press taking his words out of context and hammering him over and over to comment on why he said Obama is better suited than Romney.. which of course he didn't say. I would sooner negotiate with a Jihadist than with the press any day of the week, at least they are honest with themselves and the people around them, not trying to twist what everyone says to fit their own ideas, and the Jihadist will shoot you for his beliefs, not stab you in the back for a rise out of the public while claiming to represent you accurately. On that note though, perhaps Santorum isn't the best choice for President, he will have to deal with other politicians which are far worse than the press when it comes to twisting the meaning of words and saying anything to gain popularity.
Oh, and one more thing. Yes, Obama is a better speaker than any of the republican candidates. He can say anything and make it sound like it is what you want. Too bad he isn't the actual author of the words. 4 years ago, we learned that an empty suit that could speak in public really well could be president when he has nearly unlimited funds to get there. I wonder if this election will be won on empty speeches and money, or the reality that there are people in this country who actually want to be responsible for themselves and not have to be responsible for all the people who don't want to work as hard as they do. Tough to say. Money = press, and this article is one more example of how the press is really good at taking reality and twisting into their own perception. Someone provides the money, and it comes with a cost though, and Obama's record of paying back those who got him elected will hopefully be the final nails needed in his coffin. Sadly, between the current Republican candidates' inability to get a solid point across that the press can't easily manipulate, and their inability to rally behind one candidate might give Obama the opening he needs to take this election.
Of all the cranky RepubliCon whiners, Santorum is the best! That's something positive about him!
As far as blaming everything on the "news media": does he include Murdoch's Tabloid Entertainment news outlets and the Fatheads with big mouths and no facts on AM radio with that?
Santorum is just another Clown in the Repub Clown race. He is no more Presidential material than our county dogcatcher! Lucky maybe, but no qualifications whatsoever!
.....and as usual; while the press corps is busting his opponents balls (in this case Santorum's), they're asking Obama if he's comfortable, and would like a pillow or perhaps something cold to drink.
It's useless to complain about it at this point. Because it's clearly evident that it's never going to change.

And what does Obama offer to the Koreans, other than an apology for The United States being the greatest country in the world, a quick rendition of a 40 year old Al Green song, and a monthly welfare check?
Don't worry Merle, he can't escape an open mic.
To all those who managed to drag Obama into this - Obama is going to win in November. Sanitorium, Rawmoney, Newtie Patootie, Crazy Ron just do not have the cajones to take on Obama. So, you reich-wing crazies can do us all a favor and do what Cheney told Leahy to do.
I am an independent conservative, who thinks that Obama happens to be doing a pretty good job, in spite of the fascists. What is really amazing, is that there are a lot of political commentators out there who put Obama in roughly the same right of the line position as Reagan!!!. Just goes to show how far right the country has swung. It is time to get the country back on track, and ignore the reich wing!!!
Qualifications is the last thing you should be bringing up. Why aren't you worried Obama is selling us out the the highest bidder?
Anyone that still uses the term Obamacare looses all credibility with me.
hey j.merle, let us know when they start going after robme or sanctmoron for their citizenship birthcertificate, their religious believes or if they actually attended college and if so their grades. you think this was bustingballs, asking him to clarify a statement? if this clown show didn't feel it has to out do the next on outrageous statements, there wouldn't be a need for clarification. maybe you should go over to breitbart's big gummint website and see if they are going to release those obama tapes that are finally going to vett the president. you have had 4 years of rightwing media trying to find something on this preident and the best they can do is conspirisy theories and conjecture. face it, anyone of these rightwing clowns would be an embarassment to this country, and we are still enduring the embarassment of the bush administration.
If only the press had vetted Obama better our country wouldn't be in suck a shi*hole right now. It is just like Lib's to twist what is said, here is an idea just report the facts that is all nothing more nothing less if that would of been the case back in 2008 this communist wouldn't be running our country now.
Since when did America become suck a lazy entitled nation? Become self reliant again that is what everyone needs to do. It is disturbing that so many people want to give the government so much control over them? The more the government gives to the people in form of entitlements, the more they take from the people in way of freedom. Look around you it doers not take a smart person to see that we don't have the same rights that we did just 3 years ago. I can bet we will be in even worse shape at the end of 2012. Get someone in the White House that will restorer our freedom, cut spending and restore the gold standard to our currency. We can't keep spending at this rate for long without destroying our nation.
There is already talk about calling in the greenbacks for plastic. I told you all this months ago and now it seems to be a constant story at the Blaze; they will end up calling in all the money and devalue it and then they will hand out a new currancy.
"A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have...." TJ
Don't worry as by the end of August during the Republican National Convention all the hoopla over the proxy candidates will be over as none of them will have the number of delegates needed to be their parties nominee.
Then they can spring their true candidate Jeb Bush upon us, then all the dog and pony show of the illusion of free elections with a candidate chosen by the majority of the people will be over.
The main question should be with the Presidential election being decided by the ruling elite, will the people rise up and overthrow this unconstitutional group of traitors or will the majority accept this and we become, as a nation, a third world country where the rights of the many are nonexistent ?
Life in a pressure cooker is no fun, but then that's why I'm not running for office anywhere. Smear campaigns, back-stabbing, half-truths or lies, life under a microscope, just not my thing. Easy going, peaceful, wind blowing the wind chimes, warm cappuccino, slow and easy for me.
@DaveK-1110204
I don't understand why liberals are so against religion and structure but then want the government to structure their entire lives.
1. Most liberals are not 'against religion'. A lot, including myself, ARE against the rampant use of it on campaign trails, or trying to replace mythology with science in our high school text books.
I would personally fight for your right to believe in whatever superstitious, baseless, and downright childish claims you wish to espouse, as long as those claims do not endanger the bodies or minds of others. The GOP's narrow-minded and highly distorted view of Christianity is just so over-the-top pathetic, it's hard to know where to begin criticizing it. THAT is what "liberals" are against (replace "liberals" with "reasonable people" or "rationalists" if you so desire.)
2. No "liberal" is against structure. Where do you get this nonsense? First, you claim we "want government to control our lives" (which of course we don't... no in the least) and then claim, in the SAME BREATH, we abhor structure.
No sir-- what we abhor are idiots like you who cannot distinguish legitimate arguments and concerns over unfettered capitalism, the SAME concern Adam Smith had (look it up; you know, the 'founder of capitalism'?) solely because you either lack the I.Q., education required, or are just contaminated by Faux News and the Tush Limbaugh Hour.
'If only the press had vetted Obama better our country wouldn't be in suck a shi*hole right now.'...............................................................................
so tell us, after 4 years now is he vetted? what has breitbarts big gummint. com come up with? castro is obama's farther? he was raised by gorillas in africa? he is in secrt talks with china to turn our country communist? ..................... as with the rest of your rightwing rant, just more conjecture with out facts. libs, lazy , communist, entitlements.
Anyone who is shocked that he used profanity OBVIOUSLY has never been to Pennsylvania. <chuckles>
I lived there for all of my youth - and I'd still be there if there were any jobs to be found after I graduated.
As a whole, you're lucky BS was all he said. <laughs>
Regardless of what anyone thinks of Santorum, it only seems fair to judge candidates equally. I always thought "losing your cool" meant that you either yelled and screamed or went off on someone not that you just said a word that the majority of people in this country seem to find acceptable. BS is a pretty commonly used word to describe something the person finds completely ridiculous. I don't understand what the use of this word has to do with contraception or any of the many issues people have brought up that make them disagree with Santorum. It is, of course, your right to to disagree. I personally have no problem with contraception and don't understand why Santorum would make it an issue in his campaign. However, I do have a problem when there is a double standard in judging candidates about the use of their words, for heaven's sake. There are Christians who make a big deal about swear words, but Santorum himself never said anything about telling people they couldn't use swear words. It seems like some of you are confusing church and state.
Maybe some of you are going to tell me that Santorum did it first. If that is the case you must approve since you are continuing the process!
I believe every move any candidate makes is entirely scripted. It probably was to show he won't take anything from that "dam liberal press."
Ricky,
You bad, bad boy! Say 10 Our Fathers and 10 Hail Mary's.
You people need to wake up. After Obamacare was passed, the dumb VP whispered in the Prez's ear 'that this was a big f-ing deal'. Did anyone in the liberal biased media talk about that one? If Prez B.O. gets re-elected (God help us) he will finish off his communist takeover and gutting of America and you are going to wish Santorum was elected. Are all you sheep asleep? Are you paying attention to what is happening in this country? Educate yourself.
"The Tea ReTards love Santorum when he gets Crazy"
AUT,
Do you not understand the difference between speaking directly into the mic and getting caught on mic?
Wow! You mean, Joe D Glenn, that we should now, for the first time, look at presidential candidates who throw around profanity as nothing to "get our panties in a twist" over?? So, now candidates can swear?? Jeezus, you guys are just plain ridiculous... What if Obama said it?
A part of me wants Santorum to get the nomination. That would probably guarantee the Dems getting both Houses.
I think the GOP has a legitimate function in American politics, which should be to prevent the government (federal or state) from growing too much and getting in the way of good business practice. The problem is that lately it has been hijacked by extremists (some religious, some libertarians) that, rather than making it a good counterweight to the left, are actually making it harder for reasonable people to support the GOP. I consider myself a supporter of free-market economics, but the GOP as it stands is nothing I would like to associate with. Unless a moderate third-party candidate comes forward, I have no choice but to vote for Obama.
"Come on, you guys..."
lol... waaaa!
Like I posted earlier. Righty got their panties in a twist when Obama told a heckler they were rude. So I guess that answers that question.
As I recall didn't Obungler use the word damn; spouting "plug the damn hole" with regards to the BP oil spill?
Saying bull@!$%# is not what I have against Santorum. It is everything else he says.
My mother was a very good sweet Christian. Never cussed and we were not allowed. However, when she was upset the word Damn was there. She always said it meant dam and thought nothing of it.
So when President Obama said "plug the damn hole" it was taken out of context and he meant "plug the dam hole".
This is really not a very entertaining article, but it is Monday. I'm retired and have nothing to do outside as the wind will blow you away. Still beautiful in Cool Colorful Colorado.
Have a little peace in your life, we all deserve it.
Once again, "How DARE you accuse me of saying what I said!"
Here you also have the direct hypocrisy from those of the tea bagging republican extremist nature. One minute they assume to be holier than thou quoting scripture assuming to be more Christian then you and the next moment cursing up a storm. Saying you ain't nobody in politics till you have "CURSED out a new york times reporter". As though cursing another human being out is par for the course a right of passage if you will. What would your Pastor think Mr. Santorum? What would Jesus do? How will God punish YOU for it? Hmmm. Indeed.
The double standard of ones faith and how and when it is practiced. The new book By Mr. Santorum.. ; ]
Cheers
What a jerk! Yeah, this guy would perform real well as President....... lol
It is about time people started telling the midia what idiots they are!!! more reporters need to be cursed out and made to feel like the idiots they are, they ALWAYS want to distort and twist comments to get a better headline and teaser soundbite. The real shame is that you cannot beat the crap out of over bearing reporters who not only twist a persons words but outright lie!!'
"It is about time people started telling the midia what idiots they are!!!"
I think the idiot has been identified.
Not "against religion", rather we favor true religious freedom, which includes the right to choose any religion or no religion, and the right to be free from the rules of "other religions" that we don't believe in. It also means that the Government stays neutral on religious issues and does not favor any religion or group of religions over others. It's a fairly simple concept, but some religious zealots can't understand, they think their particular religious rules should be Law and their religion should be favored over all others.
"Against structure" is a silly accusation, a well organized and efficient Government can be a force for societal good, and societal good is something Liberals tend to favor. You're confusing "Liberal" with "Anarchist", they are not the same thing, and there are just as many Anarchists on the far right fringe as on the far left fringe.
Of course Romneycare will be a big problem for Romney, and of all Republicans the GOP/TP are going to run him for their candidate against the president -- Hahaha. But come one, Santorum wanting legislate profanity, and then uses profanity, and only now folks are questioning whether he is presidential material? Hahaha. Go sell a book and charge $50 for a photo guys!
Kritt,
we knew that the second Santorum claimed the only morals that matter are the ones that he believes in. In a Santorum America we would all be forced to follow a Evangelical moral code and any and all progress made for the GBLT community would vanish in a fortnight.
It is pretty effident from all the comments that "Tantorum" as he is now called, has once again shown his unpresidential demeanor. If he can not even keep his composure in such an everyday situation how in the world would he be able to effectively negotiate with other world powers? Would he simply pout and and stomp his feet every time he doesn't get his way? And do that in front of the world stage?
Truely this guy is not Presidential. This is the stuff you see in a PTA kind of meeting! One of the reasons we so loved President Reagan was his ability to not get too ruffled. His wit in a difficult situation. His charm and charisma in the face of a challenge, not to mention that twinkle in his eye that suggested his wisdom and experience. Yes we can not have Reagan to run this year but certainly the man furthest from filling his shoes is Ricky Tantorum.
" This is a big f— — — ing deal..."
Oops ! I'm sorry that was our VP Joe, the classy DemocRAT.
Maybe Rick can't handle the job, because Joe and Barry have proved that they can't !
Your right, it's amazing what a little cursing reveals !
When Your Hot Your Hot!!!!
And when you confuse homophones, you confuse homophones.
It's "you're," not "your."
you are is spelled you're. Therefore, when you said "when your hot
your hot." You should have spelled it: "when you're hot you're hot."
When you spell correctly, you will come across as being more credible and believable.
One thing worse then Rick Santorum is when someone comes on here and tries to correct other peoples grammar. This is not a public classroom. It is an easy mistake and many posters do it.
@Eugene, Sentences usually start with capital letters. And you talk about being credible and believable. Yikes, get a life !
unfu@#ing believable
Roger - More people misuse "your" and "you're" on these vines than use them correctly. Perhaps it's time for those of us with a modicum of education to attempt to teach those of you who are ignorant. However, considering your comment no. 1.11, it doesn't surprise me that you denigrate others who actually know the correct use of English. You were the kid sitting in the back of the classroom who was too busy drawing dirty pictures in your textbook to take the time to actually learn anything.
I drawed lotsa durty piktures in skool and i terned owt ok
@ABCzyx . .
I guess you forgot to read the entire sentence. Talk about being in the back of the class. If someone wanted your grammar lessons, I guess they would post in the section entitled " I need your grammar checking now " And I guess it is OK to not capitalize right ? What goes around comes around. The same people correcting others do not seem to bright when they forget to capitalize and yet have the nerve to try and correct others. Yikes, you to need a life ! Talk about denigrate, what are you doing when you criticize me with an ignorant comment about education and dirty pictures ? Oh I forgot, you have a 3rd grade education and think your better then everyone else.
Yeah, Roger. After the misuse of "your" and "you're", the second biggest pet peeve to those of us the a minimum of a high school diploma is the misuse of "to", "two", and "too", as in "The same people correcting others do not seem too bright when they forget to capitalize..." BTW, most kids have been taught the correct use of all those words by the time they finish third grade, so I guess you didn't make it that far.

Seriously? The article is discussing the actions of someone running for the office of President of the United States, and a number of posters are having an online 'cat fight' over grammar and spelling? I agree that spelling words correctly does lend a bit more credibility to ones opinions. But is the confusion over the use of 'your' and 'you're' worth post-after-post poking barbs back-and-forth?
When people use 'your' instead of 'you're' inappropriately, it does indeed take away a lot of credibility. It's basic grammar. People who argue that it's "not important" are people who don't know basic grammar.
Grammar IS important. I'm not great at grammar, but when reading resumes I expect people to get your/you're and their/they're/there correct, at least. When applicants consistently make such errors I just place the resume into the "no" pile - because it makes them appear that they lack attention to detail and do not value their work.

It does seem petty. But, it's symptomatic of our educational system. Since when did they get rid of english grammar classes and replace it with "use grammar checker in Microsoft Word to get by 101" ?
These are all examples of the education level due to the inadequacies of the system. Our politicians and leaders want the general populous to be so ignorant that they follow along like sheep without the intelligence to question anything.
Shuklack
Spelling and grammar hall monitors on these boards always amuse me. This is a shout-out board. It's the equivalent to the old tradition of standing on a soap box in the park and expressing your opinion. It's not a job application and it's not a literary exercise.
As far as being super critical about errors in resumes, of course an employer should take note of the how articulate and accurate a resume is. But this is a silly comment board, not a job application -- apples and oranges.
All you are doing is showing your elitist, pedantic nature. You're implying that your control of grammar and spelling make your opinion more valid than that of other Americans participating in the democratic process. You're a snob.
Sure, they are very different. I don't read these comments with expectations of great grammar. I very rarely bother correcting someone (unless of course they call someone else 'stupid' or whatever)
But, that doesn't make their grammar any less wrong - or the implication that is inferred from poor grammar any less accurate. People that KNOW correct grammar USE correct grammar. Basic grammar isn't something an educated person busts out only on special occassions. Again, I don't expect anyone to use perfect grammar, but when people use the wrong WORD due to poor grammar it's really not far off from someone incapable of using punctation or capital letters.
Unfortunately, it is your very attitude that grammar is only important on important things like resumes that perpetuates this seemingly nation-wide grammar ignorance.
What's next? Spelling? Spelling isn't important here either. So long as I get my message across right? Who cares about clarity of meaning. Might as well just start typing phonetically on these forums, and nobuddy ken say nething abowt my inteligenz beecuz its not impertent on forumz.
THAT'S IT! I'VE HAD IT! If you all don't stop it right now, I'm going to pull this blog over, turn it around, and we'll just go back home right this minute. NO SWIMMING POOL! NO ICE CREAM!
Would you like to know the problem with this entire country, dumbed down to a very relevant example? Look at how much time is wasted nit-picking spelling and grammar on a comment thread, while bigger issues that can be discussed get ignored.
PS: every last one of you little English class teachers' pets has a spelling or grammatical error in your post(s). Shuklack: "punctation," huh? APPLICATION REJECTED.
Maybe your reading comprehension fails as well, because I've already made it very clear that I don't expect myself, or someone else to spell everything correctly, or use the best grammar/punctuAtion.
But
There is a difference between a typo like 'punctation' vs punctuation and NOT KNOWING the correct spelling. Get it yet? That's my whole point.
Look at you nit-pick about nit-picking.... pot meet kettle. What's worse, the people complaining, or the guy who comes in on his high-horse and complains about complaining?
Regardless, I wasn't even the one that corrected him. I simply chimed in with my opinion that grammar is important, and that people who make egregious errors with simple basics lose credibility. I also pointed out the fact that there is indeed an epidemic in education failing to produce high schoolers that can write properly.
50 Million American people are uninsured and this dirtbag Ricky said my plan is nothing but BULL$HIT, just don't get sick-that's my plan.
I'le saye itt wons. The perpis of the rittin werd is two iffektiffley komunicait ideus. If yew wir abel to reed this and git my idear, den comunakasion waz akkomplisht.
(Despite spelling and grammar). Read some written articles from the 17th century and early 18th centuries before English grammar and spelling was formalized. You'll understand it.
8 people agreed with you, Shuklack. Congratulations, you've won at the internet.
RockDoctor That is similar to the test to see if people have a strong mind if they can read that lol
Romney said he will repeal and replace Obamacare care... my guess is that he will replace it with Romneycare... that will make the right severely happy. Santorum will repeal Obamacare and replace it with...my guess is he will replace it with Santorum Don't Care... or bull@#*&.
An important benefit of using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation is that your posts will not look like the incoherent ravings of a semi-literate hillbilly, a problem that plagues the right wing lunatic fringe.
Please do not pick on Ayatollah Santorum, he obviously knows what's best for all of us, especially females. Rick is devoutly against abortion (even though his wife had one to save her life), he is for limited Government (though he made his old Pennsylvania school district pay $40,000 to home school his kids).
We need more ayatollahs like Rick in the Government- look how well it's turned out for Iran!
Vote Republican- protect the millionaires! Put more Kochsuckers in Congress!

"It is about time people started telling the midia what idiots they are!!!"
Yup. I think an idiot has just raised his hand.
What profanity? Clearly the media is the agressor creating the news again rather than just stating the facts and reporting.
The only fact I see is that Ricky's about to crack..
john q,
Let me guess, Fox News is "fair and balanced" and researches everything they say on air too, right?
Hitler & Nixon would mhave loved fox NEWS
They would have, and Fox loves them right back.
@John Q ... I tend to disagree with your assessment that the media was "creating the news again." There is nothing wrong, and in fact much that is right, with the media being aggressive in trying to pin-down a candidate's opinions and positions. We've seen far too many instances of the media being an all-too-willing accomplice to whatever whim is generated by the White House; oft times with devastating consequences. Case in point: the war in Iraq. During the months and weeks leading up to the invasion, few in the media sought to uncover the real motivation(s) behind the invasion. In fact, much of the media seemed to believe its collective job was to be "Cheerleader-in-Chief" for President Bush. While it is wishful thinking to believe that a stronger degree of fact-finding by all forms of media prior to the Iraq War would have delayed or derailed the then-impending invasion, it would have certainly made then-President Bush and his administration strive to be more clear about the reasons and goals for/of the invasion. Such scrutiny may well have also cause the Bush Administration to NOT throw caution to the wind and try to prosecute the was "on the cheap." But to instead be willing and able to commit the several hundreds-of-thousands of troops that the General in charge of invasion forces had originally sought. Even though the war in Iraq was, in and of itself, an illegal invasion of a sovereign country that posed no direct threat to the United States, one can only imagine how much better the war would have been prosecuted had the U.S. sent-in forces similar in size as those sent to squash the Iraqi's invasion of Kuwait.
I will seldom criticize the media for being too aggressive with any Presidential candidate. Not only is the position of President of the United States the position of greatest singular influence and power around the entire globe, but it is also one for which the decisions made by the individual in that position has the greatest and most far-reaching benefits and/or consequences.
Roger -
THEN/THAN - Figure out the difference and use correctly, please.
"Clearly the media is the agressor. . ." Really? A reporter asking questions is aggressive? Spit (euphemism replacing profanity), here I was, thinking they were doing their jobs when they ask a candidate to clarify something so it can be reported accurately, but turns out they were just being aggressive. Silly me. Bad reporters, bad. Maybe after Santorum is thru in the naughty chair, they can take a turn.
Instead of getting riled, maybe Santorum should take a page out of Romney's book, and simply learn to say "I didn't say that" with a straight face.
The bottom line is none of this matters. Rick Santorum is NOT going to win the nomination. Even the vast majority of Republicans know this clown is a dangerous, hate filled religious fanatic. Remember -- the people in PA booted him our of office by more than a 2 to 1 margin.
Charlie, right on. This clown has as big or bigger ego than Gingrich does. Hey Rick, take your idiotic theocratic ways and get off the stage. You'll NEVER be the POTUS, not enough loonies like you to get elected dog catcher. Time for the main event, and it doesn't include you Rick.
I can't believe how infantile most of the people posting on this vine are. Grammar police and collapsing posts that are not inflammatory??? WTF? It must be another morning of the welfare/food stamp nation complaining they didn't get enough money or attention or whatever it is that they seek. I see why our nation is in the shape that it is: a bunch of cry babies. Nanny state, nanny people, nanny posters...
"I can't believe how infantile most of the people posting on this vine are."............
you are just........ a bunch of cry babies. Nanny state, nanny people, nanny posters.. welfare/food stamp nation complaining they didn't get enough money or attention...hahahahahahaha...you just have to laugh at the rightwing hypocricy.
It is ridiculous to criticize the media for reporting the news. Asking questions is part of the process, and when a political figure throws a small fit because an inquiry is made regarding statements he made and that are contained in the wannabe candidate's press releases, that is news, too, and it should be reported. People who criticize the media for reporting these events are saying, in effect, that they want the news edited to make it more palatable for them. It is usually a sign that this sort of individual prefers pre-digested news that requires no mental effort and no brain activity. FOX, Limbaugh, and Beck are usually the news sources that appeal to the vacuous consumers of pre-chewed and heavily edited news. Sadly, these news sites are to journalism as sewers are to drinking fountains: they spoil information that should be stimulating people to learn more about the world around us and instead they have turned news into low entertainment.
Edward R. Murrow is spinning in his grave.
I just want to know which potty word he said. With a**terisks, of course!!
Bull sh*t
Santorum's the potty word. Come to think of it I have to go take a Santorum right now.
Keep religion OUT of politics.
Don't forget to wipe your Romney!
Kevin and Eric--my first lol moment today--thanks.
Kevin, I just wanted to know if you got it all worked out?
Come on Kevin lets not give people not in the know the wrong idea about what santorum is, which is not a bowel movement (when done out of sheer terror THATS called a romney) - it is however the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.
Amen
This clown has as big or bigger ego than Gingrich does. Hey Rick, take your idiotic theocratic ways and get off the stage. You'll NEVER be the POTUS, not enough loonies like you to get elected dog catcher. Time for the main event, and it doesn't include you Rick.

Actually The ultra conservative Catholic Opus Dei ministry which Ricky describes as his religious inspiration, does have married lay members in its monasteries. His lobbying business has piled up enough loot for his family to live on.
He can join the sack cloth and ashes crowd and not have to get divorced.
"Santorum is having a Brain Orgasm over Porn"
I just had my constitutional and yep it was a Dicky Santorum alright. Big and stinky just like him. @Kevin, I got to hand it to you on your comment, it truly is the best way to compare or describe this guy and the rest of them too. Thats all the repubes put out there this time and then to act like they are better than everyone else, just makes you want to be sure you don't step in it and have to carry around that smell with you all day. Its going to be a real long time before a decent republican is born again.
Kevin - TMI
"Tantorum"
Rofl.
I know. Best moniker for him I've heard yet.
"Looks like Dicky Santorum has a broken nose, its Crooked"
Flbiker chick, what, you don't like The Ayatollah Santorumeni??? I'm crushed
What word did he say?
He can't handle and should stick to small town politics. He's not of the right caliber.
Actually he was not good at small town politics either. As senator from Western Pennsylvania he moved to Virginia but didn't change his address. Additionally he misappropriated home schooling funds for his children from Penn Hills Pennsylvania while living in an upscale Virginia community. That is why he lost his bid for reelection in PA by 18%
With Rick "less than erudite" Santorum as dog catcher, I would fear for the life of my dog. And, BTW, my dog is a lot smarter than little Rick.
A rock is smarter than Santorum.
I don't think Rick Santorum is stupid. He got elected as a one term Senator from Pennsylvania, made the right political business connections, and after losing his bid for a 2nd term in a landside, he used those connections to make close to a million dollars last year. And he is obviously smarter than all the idiots who keep voting for him.
@ABCzyx,
Talk about denigration. Your not to bright are you ?
Brighter than you, Roger. I know when to use "to" and "too". You obviously don't.
Hey may not be stupid, but he is delusional, and he's starting to show signs of paranoia.
@scales
Grammar Police at it again, eh? See my post above regarding the word "pedantic".
The period belongs inside the final quotation mark. If you're going to be a grammar Nazi, you should really make sure your own posts don't contain errors. Just saying....
"Does Santorum have that MADCOW disease" ?????????????????
Ayatollah Santorum makes Sarah Palin look smart...... which is something I never thought I would ever say about any human being. In a high school test on the Constitution between Ayatollah Santorum, Sarah Palin and a rock, who comes in second behind the rock? I just can't figure it out.
Do you realize if the Repubs ran a village idiot contest, they would be overrun with candidates? For economic savings purposes, Dubia could be both tribal elder and village idiot at the same time?
flbikerchick said,
"The period belongs inside the final quotation mark."
Nope. In that particular case, you're wrong. look it up.
Only "AMERICAN" grammar rules dictate that the period goes inside the "final" quotation mark (unless there is only a single or letter or number contained by those quotation marks or there is further text beyond, and outside of, the "final" quotes).
International (the rules affecting everyone else except those in the U.S.) grammar dictates that you use logical placement. Logical placement places the period being outside of the "final" quotation marks.
Are you now trying to tell us that you have extra-sensory abilities that enable you to determine whether scales67 is, or is not, a U.S. citizen? Wow. I'm impressed.
he said BS, hardly anything to get upset about
Wait, did he say "BS" or "bull sh*t"?
The only person getting upset here is Rick Tantorum. The meltdowns he's had the last few days prove this man is incapable of leading this country with honor and integrity. We would have to be insane to place the nuclear football in the hands of this unstable narcissist.
Ricky, just take your ball and go home already!
Except he puts his faith out there for the faux moral police. He gets outraged at most anything Obama does then has a melt down with a reporter. The guy is cracking up as we watch each ad become more nasty than the other.
Ever notice how all these devoutly religious types who profess to have rock solid morals are the most mean-spirited?
Mean spirited - that sure describes ricky.
Ever notice how all these devoutly religious types who profess to have rock solid morals are the most mean-spirited?
Mean- spited along with hypocritical and more often than not -- total scumbags. Never -- ever, under any circumstances, at any time , for any reason, no matter what -- trust a politician who claims to be speaking for god regardless of who the participial god or religion is.
Good observation Marlene! I have noticed that...and I do not believe that mean-spiritedness is mentioned in the Bible as a fruit of the Spirit--or as any other"christian" value.
"We have met the enemy and he is us!" Pogo by Waqlt Kelly
"A desperate Santorum said, l will do anything to be President"
Actually Santorum is the second worst Republican canadate after Romney and before Newt Gingrich.
Why even bother ranking them? They're all horribly bad people. There's no lesser of two evils in the GOP, there's just evil people.
I agree just that they rank from very bad to terrible.
Really? When we stop debating the issues and start demonizing our political opponents as 'evil people' we have taken a very dangerous step. I suggest that you may need to take a few steps backwards, away from that cliff.
Right you are , HChris. But neither should we canonize our candidates. . .
I happen to vote Democratic, but IMHO no candidate or elected official of any political stripe should be held to unrealistic standards of behavior. I'll take a cussin' president (think: Lyndon Johnson) any day over some pantywaist afraid of offending certain segments of the electorate. Fact is, this is how most men (and some women) talk when outraged, frustrated, or angry. Why should we expect our leaders and so-called role models to be saints? They should be wiser, better informed, and more decisive perhaps than the rest of us: but if America were forced to elect a man or woman of pure unblemished moral character to the presidency, I fear the office would remain vacant! No wusses need apply!
Oh lord yes, it's "very dangerous" to say bad things about our political opponents. Never mind that "we" have already stepped off the cliff when we started openly questioning the religion and citizenship of the democrat who got elected president.
SamBrown,
It might not be terrible to say "bad things" (whatever that means) about our political opponents, calling all members of a political party 'evil' is quite a different story. It's the same rhetoric used to justify war or genocide.
Feel free to call your political opponents: ignorant, greedy, stupid, misguided, corrupt...whatever, but 'evil' is a dangerous word.
What a collection of candidates!!! Newt was booted out of office by his own people for ethics violations, Santorum was booted out by a 2 to 1 margin by the people of PA and seen as one of the most corrupt Senators of his time, and Romney lost his bid for Senate in a landslide.
A very clear breakdown of their qualifications, Charlie.
Back up just a little to the formation of the Tea Party. Does anyone believe Armey, the Koches or Norquist had any other motive in mind other than to get the most politically naive to do their dirty work for them?
Look at who represents the Tea Party ideology: Santorum, Walker, Ryan, Cantor...twerps who haven't exactly paid their dues in this life. Nor do any one of them possess the wisdom and experience of those in the Republican party they insist upon forcing out. More and more of the old guard are turned off by the tantrums pulled daily by these Tea Party Twerps.
Is this what we want and need in this country? A bunch of overindulged little bois who would throw the rest of us under a bus just so their wealthy cronies can amass obscene wealth they feel they are "entitled" to?
"Santorum is on a Suicide watch"
@Charlie - Give me a break. Romney lost the Senate bid to Ted Kennedy, who was worshiped in Mass. Forgot to mention that he was Governor of Massachusetts and very successful in business.
I stand by my comment, Republicans are all evil people. They preach out one side of their mouths and spew hate out the other. They create a set of standards for others that they do not follow themselves. They act in the interest of their ideology, not in the interest of their fellow man. They have a bloodlust for war with anyone who is not exactly like them in every single way. They claim a moral high ground while rolling in the filth themselves. They crave power over the prosperity of our nation. They care not for our planet and it's future, but only for that which feeds their greed today.
A vote for Santorum is a return to the days of Inquisition when people were put to death for wrongful beliefs.
"NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!" - Monty Python
I agree MarshallW. I don't think it will go as far as putting people to death, but pretty close to it. What you will see is several people being denied rights, assistance and other necessities. It seems like Santorum takes on the "Only if you are faithful, only then you may receive that which you have a right to" role. Makes it scary thinking about it that way when you look at how many milllions of people may be of the same belief, but have varied values.
This idea that a religious person is going to impose religious beliefs on the country is ridiculous. If you believe that you are more bigoted that you think the candidate is.
Lis
Have you read or heard Santorum's remarks regarding his moral issues he is standing for? Most of his decisions on what he is going to do in office are all based on his beliefs. You really need to go watch some of his interviews and catch up on what he has said.
What do you guys think of this, then:
Here's another source:
from huffingtonpost.com
Santorum is making it up as he goes along. What else is new?
He has been doing that as long as I knew of him in Pennsylvania.
The reality is that this long, long GOP campaign has a back room agenda. It's a beta test to see which candidates last the longest even though the RNC knows it's hiding the real ticket for the convention floor. Think about it. They put all these states in debt holding elections and fooled primary voters into thinking their votes mattered. The RNC has been hot for decades to reduce voting power. The best way to do it is with a long, drawn out campaign using candidates to beta test who the RNC will really support.
Santorum can't win with rational Republicans and Romney can't win without support from the southern religious. Leaves a political black hole doesn't it? Why else would Gingrich stay in the campaign when he knows he can't win either? And Paul is so far behind, that 's his continuance of his candidacy is a joke. So yes. The RNC will allow this charade. So long as they get to that convention floor when the real candidate is finally revealed.
Santorum said the U.S. Supreme Court will made me President the same way they did with "W", they will help me steel the Election.
why is Paul a joke. who cares if he can't win. he is finishing the race. unlike your sorry a$$ who probably drops out of something by someone telling you that you can't do it. your a f#@king jack!
Santorum, the joke candidate. It is an embarrassment that this jerk could carry even one state. America was founded to keep creeps like this out of government.
Yes and believe me as a former Penn Hills Pennsylvania resident, I can certify that Santorum is the creepiest of the Creeps. My mother who never cared about politics and never campaigned for anything campaigned against this creep.
Marshall,
I don't know, I think Gingrich takes the creepy cake, reminds me a lot of "Wide Stance" Larry. Santorum is just mentally retarded. Sometimes I feel pity for poor stupid little fella.
No since I lived in his district I can tell you he is not retarded he is Dictator want-a-be looking for a place to happin. He is a reincarnation of Hitler.
You have to remember that alot of his supporters are OLD conservatives who have NO internet, social media, maybe no cable, and only get news from the main stream media, local newspaper, church, and god knows what else. They are ill informed or under informed.
"Santorum said he will win the State that kicked him Out"
OK, before anyone else asks...Politico and the WP quote him as saying "Quit distorting my words. It’s bull----."
Even if Santorum is a staunch Catholic, the profanity is not that bad; I'd actually be surprised if he called someone, and not some act, a curse word. I can't imagine the Pope's too happy about it though, and Santorum's desperation is crystal clear now.
But he would judge someone else for saying it.
Excellent point, Houstonite. The "profane" word he chose to use may not be a heavyweight as far as profane words are concerned, but everyone needs to remember that Santorum professes to be holier-than-thou and better than the rest of us. If he wants to project such as squeaky clean, self-righteous imagine, then he shouldn't be using words even as mild as this one.
"The best gift Pennsylvania people got in years was kicking Santorum out on his A$$"
Game Kid
Problem is, when you are running for a bid to be the next leader of a country it's best to watch yourself in your language. I know there have been slip ups by others (either running for president or who are president), but it seems like he lost his cool and blatantly used the word to try to relay how much of what was being said was untrue. You can usually tell when someone has a slipup or when someone purposefully uses a word. In this case, it looks like he purposefully used profanity because he was done being civil. When someone shows that display, it makes people scratch their heads and wonder if this is how they will be under other pressures.
Again, there is a difference between a slip and flat out using profanity.

I'm not a religious person, but that's just because I've studied the bible thoroughly and find it to be complete fiction, but I have to say, most Christians, especially evangelicals and idiots like Santorum, don't follow must of what the bible teaches. Take divorce for instance. Evangelical Christians have the highest divorce rate of any demographic in the nation (source: Pat Robertson, 700 Cult.) The entire chapter of Mark 10 is devoted to Jesus denouncing the sin of divorce. He says if any man divorces his wife and marries another, he commits adultery against her, and if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she has committed adultery against him. That doesn't stop evangelicals from getting divorces, as I sad already, they get more divorces than anyone else. It's funny how they say homosexuals (about 4% of the population) threaten the sanctity of marriage when they've been pissing all over it for decades.
That's not a bit surprising. Most evangelical Christians are self-righteous, holier-than-thou hypocrites with the attitude that it's their way or the highway. Who wants to live with that?
@ ABCzyx
Again, talk about denigration. Not to bright are you ?
Here we go again, Roger. You still haven't learned when to use "to" and "too", yet you are criticizing others for not being bright? Pot/kettle, Roger. And stop with the idiotic @ sign. It's redundant and superfluous.
"Santorum said he doesn't care about Unemployment, Porn & Contraception are more important"
"With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water."
Which just goes to show you that the tea-party and any other politician spouting off about being "christian" are the farthest thing from it.
SANTORUM - SELF RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION WITHOUT A RUDDER
It is no surprise that this recent breakdown with Santorum happened. The man has been ranting about one issue and one only - Obama Care/Romney Care. I think there is a whole lot more to being a President than analysing who did what and back then. I would have appreciated Santorum laying out specifics of a BETTER medical care program for ALL, and also other programs for getting the country back on track. Instead he frittered away all his energies on attacking Romney on just ONE point.
Hey Rick, no one is distorting what you say.
YOU are the worst Republican to go against Obama. To moderate Republicans, to Independents, and to Reagan Democrats you are nothing other than the nadir of right wing Republicanism.
You are everything Barry Goldwater warned us about. Quit, before you cost us any chance of removing Obama form office.
Removing Obama ain't gon'a happin not with any one of the four the present Republican stumble bums running against him.
Mark,
I think Santorum is the absolute BEST republican to run against President Obama. I want the president to win a second term, and not that Romney or anyone else could actually beat him, but it would be a lot easier with Santorum as the candidate. In 2008, Obama won 365 electoral votes, but this year, I expect he'd win about the same number of electoral votes if Romney is the candidate, but if it's Santorum, he would surely break 400.
I assume you're a Romney supporter? It looks like he will be the nominee, but he and Santorum have one thing in common; neither will ever be president.
In order to win 270 electoral votes, Romney would have to win all five of the following states; VA, PA, NC, OH & FL. Obama secures 270 if we wins just one of those states. As of right now, Obama is polling ahead here in VA and it's likely he will win our great commonwealth once again.
Get used to President Obama, he will be our president for the next 4 3/4 years.
That is not nice Mark. You should not discourage him or hurt his feelings.
We Democrats like the three stooges they are gauranteeing Obama/Biden a big win.
Keep it up Rick. Go Boy, all the way to the convention and keep saying the things you say like Obama is better than Romney. We democrats truly appreciate your Christian honesty. You are such a blessing to us Democrats.
You are even helping the independants swing in large numbers to vote for Obama.
Thanks Rick. Hope you have more to say this week that will help Obama.
"Romney needs some Southern Comfort"
If you think these silly a$$ questions are tough, Sani, you got NO business in the White House. You can't pick and choose there and hide behind the Etch a Sketch mode!
"I think Ricky is watching to much Porn"
Ricky, you lil' devil...Shut 'cho mouth!
Come on Santorum we Democrats need you to make it to the Convention. The longer you three stooges stay in the game the more stupid you three sound.
Keep it up!
"Tantorum",,, Good response, but you know what?
They are both right;
Mitt Romney is the worst possible candidate to take on Barack Obama, every other republican nobody wants or knows he would lose to begin with
Rick Santorum is becoming more desperate and angry and unhinged every day...He's panicking in the final stages of his campaign
OBAMA -- BIDEN 2012 ------ TAKING AMERICA FORWARD
Ricky, don't go away mad, just go away..
It would put a lot of comedy writers out of a job if he quit
True, but trust me, they'll have plenty of comedic material with Romney in the months to come.
I don't think so, Jim. Politics & politicians seem to provide an infinite supply of comedy material for writers to work with. And then, there're always celebrities & their antics.
"Santorum is the Best the Tea ReTards have, they pamper Ricky"
There just ain't enough popcorn in the world to keep up with these candidates.
Obama 2012 Inaugrual Opening:
Gaitana - Be My Guest (Official Promo Trailer Eurovision 2012 Ukraine)
Yawn. I am waiting for the really "bad" gaffe. Seems to me the media is just ticked because he refused to play their word game so they go to the only trick left in their bag, to make it sound worse than what it is. Which is distortion, but wait, it's the liberal media, or as I like to call it, Obama's PR machine, so not surprised.
Watch out, Delores. All the Obama lovers will collapse your post because they can't take criticism of their messiah.
I suppose if you had bothered to actually read the story you would have seen the part where the "liberal media" acknowledged that Rick Santorum never called Romney the "worst Republican in the country."
Riiiight, any time a Republican says something stupid or loses his cool it's just "the librul media" again. You people are so stupid it's almost funny. If Obama had used the word that Mister Morality used, the right wing media and all their dittoheads would be having a fit over that "Trash mouth thug in the Whitehouse".
Hmmm, Obummer HAS said the same kind of stupid stuff, AND have you ever heard anything bad out of Biden's mouth??
I bet you would have us believe Fox is not biased against Obama. So would you prefer a Controlled media over a LIBERAL media..I bet you would IF the GOP could be in control.
And what media network would be the Republican PR machine? Oh right, that would be fair and balanced Fox News! When you are presented with facts, and it favors Obama, then it is just that mean old liberal media. When it doesn't favor Obama then it is just the media. Do you wonder why Romney always goes to Fox? Still waiting for him to face the media who doesn't pander to him. I seem to remember Obama going on Fox, and making them look quite stupid. Santorum can use the word Bull@!$%# all he wants, because that is what all his talk is, just that. I don't consider it a swear word!
Don't lose it yet Sanitorium wait and get the nomination........... then lose it. These clowns are THE BEST of the Reptiles, (shake head and chuckle), they are so bad I heard that clowns have given up cars altogether, don't want to be associated with this lot. ROFLMAO!
And four years ago the democratic primary was the spectacle while the republicans sat back and laughed; these things go round robin.
What makes me laugh is people who think Santorum will be a better candidate in the general election then Romney. If Santorum gets the nomination the GOP will have handed re-election to Obama on a silver platter.
I actually would like Romney to be their candidate. I mean this man cannot make up his mind on one single issue. One day he says one thing, then a few hours later, he says the complete opposite. He is our best chance to keep the health care bill, which we needed desperately. I would love to help create the ad of Romneys flip flops, put each one side by side. Just the person you would want making decisions on economic policies and foreign policies, well I think this, then no I think that, well I don't know what to think. Well let's just fire everybody and I will think about it some more. What's in it for me! Really!
To be a fool born is a disease incurable--Ben Johnson--This aphorism applies to Romney and Santorum.
That desparately needed "health care" bill will reduce the quality of our health care AND hasten the bankruptcy of our nation faster than it is already going. It is just another SOCIALIST action that our previously free country does NOT need.
If the guy can't keep his cool with mere reporters, he better go have a Time Out with Sarah Palin.
Potty Mouth!
TED, he is Sarah Palin-well the male version of her. I am so proud that we have a President now that does not lose his cool like Sanitarium. Maybe Ricky-baby should go to an anger management session. This idiot is qualified to be a dog catcher. I can't wait til the Stormin- Mormon finally wrap the nomination up and send this idiot back to Pennsylvania.
PRESIDENT OBAMA --A MAN WHO KEEPS HIS COOL..
Palin would say-Oh Gosh, there you go again Ricky. Hey let me show you Russia from Alaska. There that should help qualify you to be President. They fly into our air space. And they might ask you a tough question like what kinds of things do you read? So get ready for that one. When I said all of them, they wanted more specifics.
Amen - He's Palin in drag....
Dog catcher? That might not be good for the dogs. I more envision one of those street preachers, you know, the kind that stand on the sidewalks & corners of busy streets, & yell at passersby about their sins & how they incur God's wrath, & ensure eternal damnation for themselves.
Hey Bub, Are you talking about Ricky like that, watch out - the Nut has Guns and hes Crazy !
