Santorum denounces woman's comment at gun range

WEST MONROE, LA -- Rick Santorum denounced a comment Friday made, unbeknownst to him, by a woman who said that Santorum, while taking shooting practice, should pretend the targets were President Obama.

While the presidential contender was down field, taking aim at paper targets, a woman in the crowd could be heard shouting out "pretend it's Obama." The remark drew scattered chuckles from the assembled crowd.

Santorum himself did not hear the remark, but denounced it upon being informed of it; he was wearing headphones and was considerably down range when the comment was made.

"It's absurd. No I'm not pretending it's anybody but shooting pistols. It's a very terrible and horrible remark and I'm glad I didn't hear it."

The U.S. Secret Service told reporters they would look into it.

The economic situation, that is occurring in this country is effecting the entire world economy detrimentally> And that's "not good"

Where do we go from here? I believe we all deep down care about each other and want what is best. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are stalwarts of our very existence. America has nothing to apologize to any one for our exceptional presence in the world. the world is a better place because of the "shining city on the hill" 1 case in point where would we be now if the United states of America had not engaged in ww2? "ZEIG HIEL mine furer" just saying. we have had our good times and our bad times made mistakes and right-full choices this divisiveness no matter where it emanates is counter productive there can be a balance and cohesiveness shared among us all were all Americans

While I personally disagree much of Mr. Santorum's agenda, I don't understand why he should be responsible for something some piece of white trash muttered while he was shooting tartgets.

If Santorum is going to hang out with a bunch of semi-literate hillbillies who are just one sheet away from becoming a white-power neo-nazi militia group, he should expect to be associated with their misanthropic language and behavior.

Using that reasoning Obama should be associtated with these 'semi-literate hillbillies'

Notice that one of the pictures was taken at a Denver Colorado Obama campaign event in Oct. 2008.

I think it is more salient to the topic to note that the leaders of the GOP's bastard child, the Tea Party, are the sort to make such threatening and racist remarks. Here is a photo of Dale Robertson, one of the founders of the Tea Party and operator of teaparty.org at a Tea Party rally. It looks more like a KKK meeting, doesn't it?

What is this "right" provided for by the 2nd amendment, according to the NRA? The "right" to hunt down and kill blacks?

"The U.S. Secret Service told reporters they would look into it."

Why? There was no threat. Just a waste of money and time.

This is what all the hate mongering from the right has created. People that want to shoot the President. Remember Sarah Palin's rifle target? Don't retreat, re-load?

Who did Rick Santorum expect to find at a shooting range? He is just playing games. This staging also shows how tied in Rick is with the NRA. He is fooling no one with all of this. My guess is that due to his connection with the NRA and possible donations to his candidacy, Rick is pro "Stand Your Grand" law and the Castle Doctrine. So I say, "your actions speak so loud, I cannot hear what you are saying."

I have realised that some persons here are defending the lady who made the comment, in my view she knew exactly what she wanted to say and said it .Why didn't she say prentend it was one of the other candidates, why because she knew what she was saying.

If this Nut Santorum denounced this nutty women's Bark, he would have lose his support from the tea retards in the back ground. A reporter on the grounds said Rick turned and smiled at the nutty women.

It's pretty easy to see why the republicants, are doing there absolute best, to strip the guts out of our education system. Keep the masses stupid. Look at Wisconsin. Walker and his Thug puppeteers(Koch brothers), are systematically pulling the system apart, and spending millions(Koch brothers Money) to blame the awful unions(tic). This is no joke folks. Santorum is of a like mind. He's out to protect his rich buddies. Don't forget it! These fear mongering, haters will stop at nothing, to take this country back to the dark ages.

Why was Santorum at a gun range shooting a gun, anyway? What does that have to with running for president? How does shooting a gun at a gun range demonstrate what he'll do as president? If he wins the presidency, he won't be shooting at anyone. So, why is it important for him to show people that he can put bullets in a target?

It would of been nice if they interviewed the woman who said the remark. I just would have liked to see her say that with a camera in her face.
