No matter how a person looks at it, there are a lot of favors to be paid.

Super Pacs should be either eliminated, or a persons cumulative contributions should be limited to no more $1K per election.

Isn't it the truth?!

Tens of millions of dollars in support of candidates to this point. Can you imagine how many needy people this would feed, cloth and shelter? But no. Instead these people with exceptionally deep pockets contribute to their favored person who they believe will help them most; today tomorrow or in the near future.

What we are witnessing is our country up for sale to the highest bidder thanks to the disastrous decision from the activist SCOTUS!

Just wait until the foreign money starts to funnel in...

Excuse me folks - RIGHT NOW AT THIS MOMENT,

John Boehner is on the Hill:

LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH YET AGAIN, BLAMING THE PRESIDENT FOR THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE.

WE KNOW THE NEBRASKA GOVERNOR SAID NO, IT WAS NOT WISE TO SEND THE PIPE THROUGH THE OGALLALA AQUIFER:

Because it provides drinking water for 2 millon people and irrigates croplands. An alternate route has yet to be found and then it will be reviewed by the Administration.

That is not ALL Beohner lied about just now on-camera. He knows he is lying.

GOP/KOCH THINK WE WON'T NOTICE OR WE WON'T SAY ANYTHING.

Does anyone want these gop leaders running the country?

A bunch of relentless, zero conscience serial liars?

nomore - As McCain said - the SuperPACs have helped to make this such a negative primary because it is mainly their ads that are negative.

(and while it was the conservative Citizens United that we can thank for this - it is the Republicans that are suffering for it right now) "This is the nastiest campaign"

He continues that it is the result of the worst decision of the Supreme Court. The Citizen United majority, out of naivete and sheer ignorance. There will be scandals and then we will have reform again.

God, I hope so.

Aren't the Super PACs supposed to have no direct link to the candidates?

The new Congress is going to have to address this problem or we the people will never have our government back.

This is the typical shoddy, hack reporting from FR. They mixed in the Super PACs with the candidates campaign funds without identifying which ones are PACs and which ones are campaign funds.

In the 1920's the mob used to pay off the police and certain elected officials under the table. This was seen as it was: buying off influential people to get what they wanted. It was illegal and seen as an affront to the people of the nation.

Now we evolved to where it is not only legal to contribute huge sums of money to elected (or potential elected people), but it seems as a necessity to the people running.

And what is the difference between what the mob did and what is happening now? Not much from what I see. People who contribute large sums of money to candidates are later appointed to cabinet positions and get preferential treatment for the companies they represent through tax breaks and other incentives.

Our country has been bought and paid for many times over and the beat goes on. But you are absolutely right Baldeagle11, that something has to be done to prevent future problems for the country. But it will take more than Congress to get it done. Afterall, they are ones who owe a debt to large contributors as well.

Joe - check again - I may be wrong, but it appears to me that first they list the campaign and then they list the SuperPAC.

Could you double check and let me know if they list any SUPERPACs under the individual campaign category.

(I only know a few of the SuperPAC names,so I may be missing some)

Thanks to the journalists for compiling this list.

You can't tell me this spending isn't the equivalent of an economic stimulus. Billionaires pouring this much money into these campaigns will probably create jobs - how could it not?
