I wish MSNBC would do a show on what happens when a state gets a Tea Party governor. In the year since Maine elected Gov LePAge, it's been nothing but controversy, staff turn over, and unpopular legislation in the news up here. I've never seen anything like it. The headline of today's local paper was:
http://bangordailynews.com/2012/03/08/news/penobscot/lepages-landfill-partnership-claims-bogus-millinocket-leaders-say/
I've never seen a headline in a Maine paper saying town councillors claim the governor lied. Please note, Millinocket is in the red district of the state of Maine. The Bangor Daily News is the more conservative newspaper. Elect a Tea Party governor and civility and respect go out the window. Republicans have given up trying to solve problems, and just seem intent on blowing up government.
Guess your moonbat view of your Governor is not unanimous, Amy.
An October 2011 poll by Critical Insights showed maine Governor LePage with 47 percent approval and 40 percent disapproval. That represented a 16 percentage point increase from what Critical Insights found in the spring.
That's old polling Bob.
Governor LePage is at 41% approval now, 52% disapproval and more Mainers want to elect a Democratic majority in the state legislature.

Amy, I agree. I have lived here my entire life (and am well past the birthday party with black balloons) and never have I seen anything quite so eye opening to the general public. I have friends in the 2nd district who are not particularly interested in politics and have always voted Republican who are now shaking their heads in disbelief over the bully in the Blaine House and his cohorts in the state legislature and are seriously concerned over political matters for the first time.
IMO Governor LePage is a prime example of what happens when a "businessman" is elected to political office and tries to operate as if he were running his personal business. Government just doesn't work that way.
I wish MSNBC would do a show showing the successful GOP Governors in states like Virginia, New Jersey and Florida, where thanks to sane spending limits and balanced budgets the economies are improving. Compare that to the corrupt bankrupt overspending liberal Dem-governed states like Illinois and California, where the economies are in the tank, and the overspending at the behest of crooked public unions continues at a record pace..
Trenton NJ laid off one third of their police force because of spending cuts, and crime has increased
The GNOP theory of trickle down at its best - cut the state budget so that counties and cities are now in a bigger deficit than before....and therefore are forced to raise their taxes...ahhhh....shift the burden...that's the ticket....
