Gingrich vows to fight on

Despite winning just one state last night, Newt Gingrich is vowing to stay in the race.

"We are staying in this race, because I believe it is going to be impossible for a moderate to win the general election," Gingrich said.

He dismissed Rick Santorum as a "good team member," but one who can't change the game.

"With all respect to my friend from Pennsylvania, Sen. Santorum," Gingrich said, "there is a big difference between being a good team member and changing the game."

The comments are similar to what Gingrich said this morning on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" radio show.

"If I thought he was a slam dunk to beat Romney and to beat Obama, I would really consider getting out," Gingrich said of Santorum on the show. "I don’t ... I think each of the three candidates has strengths and weaknesses and that this is a very healthy vetting process.”

Gingrich refused to set the bar of when he might drop out.

"If you asked Rick Santorum that question immediately after Nevada, what would we have said?" Gingrich retorted. "He had been running fourth for a month and -- including me -- people were saying maybe he should drop out. He ignored all those. He now has had a terrific month. I think you have to wait and see how the race goes on.”

This is slightly off subject, but it's a question I been wondering about since Gingrich got into the race. How can somebody who has been divorced twice that I know of, be a practicing Catholic? Back in the day I know for sure when you were divorced the Catholic church basically divorced you. Obviously there have been a lot of changes that I'm not aware of. Can anyone explain?

Well, money and influence can overcome lots of religious objections...
Besides, those first two marriages happened before he became Catholic, so apparently the church doesn't count those...

Poor old Newt's ego won't let him see that he's dead in the water. He's one politician that most Americans wouldn't trust if they had to! We sure don't need him as President.

Come on, Ging, WUP HIS ASS! We, unfaithful Republicans, don't want that MEX. Republican corporate puppet to get the nomination! If you could get some of that corrupt SUPERPAC money, that jerk wouldn't stand a chance! HE LACKS CHARISMA, INTELLIGENCE AND HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPEAK TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! We, unfaithful Republicans, have no choice but to vote for President Obama! Against great odds, he is a great man, serving his country, NOT THE CORRUPT CORPORATES!

So, come on Ging, WUP HIS ASS!! Then, and ONLY THEN, will you get the UNFAITHFUL REPUBLICANS BACK!!!

TR - too bad your man Barack has no respect for your Constitution - how you feel about that? He even told an interviewer "the Constitution gets in the way of some things I want to do" whereupon he went on to violate the separation of Church and State with his decree to the Catholic Church to provide contraception to its workers in its Catholic facilities.

Obama is a fraud and a sanctimonius charlatan. In his deeds anyone with even a thimble measure of common sense can see that.

Example: on the campaign trail in 2008 he said "if Americans would inflate their tires properly and tune their cars up we could save so much oil we wouldn't have to worry about the oil John McCain wants to drill under the ground wherever he is standing now...." LMAO! What a dope! Look at the price of gas now because of increased world demand.

Guess he wishes now he would have stood where McCain was and helped guide the bit into the ground! Because $5+ per gallon gas is going to burn his ass in Nov. and also halt his economy dead in its tracks where unemployment is still over 8%.

Hey Ging, we, the American People of the United States, don't want our government run by a self-declared "Mex. Republican corporate business man"! We want DEMOCRACY, NOT HYPOCRACY! The Republicans already tried to run the country as a business with COMPLETE FAILURE! If you don't believe us, take a close look at (WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SERVICE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE) United States Postal Service! Complete failure, a DEMOCRATIC government is to PROVIDE SERVICES TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, NOT ROB THEM!

Ging, change your platform, or change your party, or you can't WUP the SUPERPAC, WE KNOW YOU CAN WUP THAT MEX. CORPORATE PUPPET! HAVE AT IT!!!

The former Speaker is a smart guy but is dead wrong on this one. A moderate will beat Obama in Nov.

Santorum and he should just drop out because neither has a chance. Politics is about money and Romney has it. Just ask Obama about the importance of cash - he gets it. To the tune of $1B this time around. What a fraud.
