Obama agenda: Back to New Hampshire

Per the AP, “President Barack Obama is turning his political sights on New Hampshire, the small but strategically important general election battleground where his campaign hopes to shore up voter support… Obama is expected to promote his efforts to boost domestic energy production in a speech Thursday in Nashua, N.H. The trip marks the president’s second visit to the state in about three months. Vice President Joe Biden has been a frequent visitor to New Hampshire, and first lady Michelle Obama held a conference call with campaign volunteers in the state Wednesday.”

“President Obama is increasingly playing up his working-class roots in a bid to appeal to blue-collar voters, particularly in the swing-state-heavy Midwest,” The Hill writes. “Republicans say the casting call is a stretch for the Harvard-educated Obama, who was once a community organizer but is now a best-selling author and millionaire squarely in the ‘1 percent’ category, a point he frequently acknowledges.”

In fact, Because of Obama’s delay of approval of the Keystone Pipeline project, Sen. Orrin Hatch said this on the floor about the president of the United States, per The Hill: "President Obama has traded in the hard hat and lunch bucket category of the Democratic Party for the hipster fedora and a double skim latte. The president is putting the preferred lifestyle policies of wealthy urbanites ahead of the needs of blue-collar and union workers and middle-class Americans.” (So, just asking, but Hatch knows what a “double-skim latte” is?)

During the practically endless series of Republican debates, we have heard almost every question imaginable asked of Republican candidates – if by every question imaginable, you mean horribly slanted, often irrelevant questions designed to make them look bad and help Obama. We've heard questions about contraceptives, religion, Newt's angry ex-wife, Cain's employees, Romney's personal wealth, Gardasil, etc.

So, what would happen if in New Hampshire the mainstream media treated Barack Obama the exact same way they treat Republicans? The questions might sound a little something like this.

1) Numerous Mexican citizens and an American citizen have been murdered with weapons knowingly provided to criminals by our own government during Operation Fast and Furious. If Eric Holder was aware that
was going on, do you think he should step down as Attorney General? Were you aware of Fast and Furious and if so, shouldn’t you resign?

2) In 2010 you said Solyndra, a company that donated heavily to your political campaign, was "leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future." Today, Solyndra is bankrupt and the taxpayers lost over $500 million on loans that your administration knew might never be paid off when you made them. How do you respond to citizens who say this is evidence of corruption in your administration?

3) Unions invested a lot of time and money in helping to get you elected. In return, unions gained majority control of Chrysler, the taxpayers lost $14 billion dollars on General Motors, and General Motors received a special $45 billion dollar tax break. What do you say to people who view this as corruption on a scale never before seen in American history?

4) Through dubious means you and your Democrat allies in Congress managed to force through an incredibly unpopular health care bill that helped lead to the worst election night for the Democrat Party in 50 years. Since the bill has passed, many of your claims about the bill have proven to be untrue. For example, we now know the bill won't lower health care costs and despite your assurances to the contrary, big companies like McDonald's say they may drop health care because of the health care reform. Congress has exempted themselves from the health care reform and instead has their own taxpayer-funded premium health care plan. Many large companies (that donate to Democrat political campaigns) have received special exemptions from the health care plan. Since the majority of the American people have rejected your health care reform and it doesn't do what you said it would, shouldn't you work with the Republicans to repeal it?

5) When you took office, the national average for one gallon of gas was $1.89 per gallon. Since then, you've demonized the oil industry, dramatically slowed offshore drilling, blocked ANWAR, and rejected the Keystone Pipeline. Now, gas is $3.54 per gallon and rising and is expected to reach $5 per gallon by May of this year. How much higher do you anticipate driving gas prices?

6) Occupy Wall Street has been protesting against Wall Street and the richest 1 percent in America. You are in the top 1 percent of income earners in America and you have collected more cash from Wall Street than any other President in history. So, aren't you exactly the sort of politician that Occupy Wall Street wants to get rid of?

7) How do you decide which foreign leaders to submissively bow towards and why do you think that's appropriate for an American President?

8) If they could, don't you think the Nobel Committee would take back the Nobel Peace Prize that you were awarded after serving just one month in office?

9) You made bipartisanship one of the central themes of your campaign in 2008. Yet, you've worked to push bills through Congress with almost no Republican support, spent much less time negotiating with Congress than George Bush did, and you've said things like, "But, I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after
them, but don’t do a lot of talking." Why did you decide to break your campaign promise to pursue bipartisanship?

10) America lost its AAA credit rating for the first time under your watch. What do you think you should have done differently to have prevented that historic failure?

11) You cut more than 500 billion dollars out of Medicare to fund your wildly unpopular health care reform bill. Given that Medicare is running in the red already, don't you think it's irresponsible to cut money out of one entitlement program, that millions of seniors depend on --to put it into a risky new entitlement program?

12) Back in July, you said, "Nobody’s looking to raise taxes right now. We’re talking about potentially 2013 and the out years." Since you plan to raise taxes if you're elected and you've had kind words for a value added tax, shouldn't every American expect a tax increase if you're reelected?

13) Why should the American people reelect you when your 10 year budget saddles America with more debt than all previous Presidents combined?

14) Your stimulus bill cost more in real dollars than the moon landing and the interstate highway system combined. Many prominent economists have concluded the stimulus plan was a total failure. What
do we have to show for all of that money spent?

15) Members of your administration promised that the trillion dollar stimulus would keep unemployment under 8 percent. Instead, we've had 35+ months of 8% and above unemployment. Doesn't that mean we wasted
a trillion dollars on nothing?

Do we think the old liberal media will ever ask these relevant questions? Not on your life, but you can bet the voters in New Hampshire and the rest of the country would like to hear them.......!

ha,ha, ho,ho!

give us all a break. the cast of would be republicans canidates is the worst reality tv available. the true sign of a leader is to respond to questions intelligently, and the only questions they are given are derived from their campagian speeches, you know, what they believe.

when the presidential debates take place, this republican lack of leadership will once again be on display, and when that republican canidate speaks, the american people will shake their heads in disbelief.

I won't presume to answer for President Obama, but here is what I think he should say:

      1) More Mexican illegal immigrants with criminal pasts have been deported in Obama's first term then were sent back to Mexico in eight years of George W. Bush. If you think the Obama administration isn't on top of the threats poised by criminals entering the US, think again.

      2) Learn more about Solyandra and you will see why the Obama administration supported it's mission. THe Obama administration is 1) committed to developing renewable energy sources and 2) creating jobs in the US and building up our manufacturing base.

Solyndra was led by Brian Harrison, a veteran of Intel Corporation. He took the reins on July 27, 2010 when founder Chris Gronet was replaced as CEO.

Major investors included George Kaiser Family Foundation, U.S. Venture Partners, CMEA Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Virgin Green Fund, Madrone Capital Partners, RockPort Capital Partners, Argonaut Private Equity, Masdar and Artis Capital Management.

In 2009, the company posted $100 million in revenue. It was estimated that its production and sales growth could lead to a market cap between $1.76 - 2 billion dollars.[9] 2010 revenues were approximately $140 million.

It wasn't just Solyndra that failed.... several other 'green' companies got Federal grants from Obama as well... and they also failed.

Obama is determined to raise the price of gasoline to make his green products more attractive. A classic conspiracy, something he does well!

Obama was quoted recently as saying the first thing he's going to do after getting out of the White House (hopefully this will happen in less than a year) is to buy a Volt! Yet another blatant political lie from the annoited one!

Amy, down here on the border Americans are being killed with those guns from Fast and Furious! Eric Holder should have to answer for this... and then fired! Can you imagine the outcry if it happened under Bush's watch?

Bill T, how old are you? I remember the energy crisis of 1979, when people waited in lines to fill up their tanks. We have known for at least 33 years - we need to develop alternative energy sources. Investing in American manufacturing of solar panels is the smart thing to do - why let Germany corner the market on new energy technologies? If America stays addicted to oil we really will lose our place in the world.

      Robin hot in NM

But, Robin, I thought people kill people, guns don't kill people. Isn't that what the right always says when they resist curbing the sale of weapons?

Funny, in Maine there was a legislative proposal to allow legislators to carry guns into the state house. Then, a right wing politician went psycho in a parking lot, waving a gun around, and had to be hospitalized. That was the end of the proposal.

If the American people could re-do the election results of 2010, when the Republicans took over the House, that would have helped.

Many economists think the stimulus should have been bigger, however, it wasn't possible, politically, to send more money to the states than we did. What the stimulus did do was to keep teachers, firefighters and cops employed, and states from going bankrupt. Actually, economists credit the stimlus with preventing the financial crisis of 2008 from causing a nother Great Depression.

Rub of the Green questions were worded with such a conservative slant no one could take it seriously.

      "weapons knowingly provided to criminals"

That is such a complete falsehood that it makes the entire post irrelevant and placed in the Obama Haters file.

kingofmyhill - The drug cartels in Mexico are not criminals, what would you call them then? The weapons in "fast and furious" we purposely sold to the drug cartels in Mexico with the purpose of tracking them and arresting the purchasers. The ATF screwed up and failed to follow up and lost track of the weapons.

The person in charge of the operation resigned and has said he will invoke the 5th Amendment if called to testify before Congress.

Now if you can show some kind of proof that the weapons were not knowingly provided to criminals please post it?
