Santorum ad digs up old quotes from Romney

Rick Santorum’s campaign today released a new TV ad in Michigan drilling Mitt Romney on his past positions on everything from his stance on abortion, health care, taxes, and the role of government.

And the TV ad does so mostly without sound -- and mostly only with text of past quotes from Romney.

Like: "I don't line up with the National Rifle Association (NRA).”

Also: "Romney also professed support for state funding of abortions for low income women."

And: "Romney Advisor Admits Romneycare was Blueprint for Obamacare."

"Since Mitt Romney refuses to talk about his own liberal record - we figured we'd show people what Mitt Romney says about Mitt Romney,” Santorum spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement accompanying the TV ad. “We wanted to give Gov. Romney's long-held positions and statements an opportunity to be heard."

Oh, please.....we're supposed to take this seriously when one of the "sources" cited in the ad is Rushlimbaugh.com?

Ah, politics in the You Tube age. Tough times for the whole lot of them.

I mean really all the fun stuff they say one day then refute the next. It's almost too easy.

Flip floppers delight.

But then again there are always the money quotes where the candidate told the actual truth that very well might end up as being the most damning.

Like '08 Obama, who said the rising gas prices when a result of the White House's failed energy policies.

Or when Obama said under his policies energy costs will necessarily skyrocket. True that.

The GOPers who buy every word Limbaugh says as truth probably will take it seriously; the rest of us, not so much.

So true Jody.

But you all do seem to love your ThinkProgress and media Matters.

Now how funny is it that Brock, Mr. anti gun, has his assistant carry a concealed and illegal gun for his protection?

Almost as fun as the little kerfuffle over the Heritage faked docs, right Jody?

Truth to power and all.

Ha. The Limbaugh bashing coming from people who probably view Dan Rather as a hero, and who daily cite MSNBC as a source of the truth. Anybody heard from KeithO lately? Where the hell's he been? The Food Channel? Funny thing is, his ratings are still probably higher than that dumbass that replaced him.

Regardless RomneyCare is the source of ObamaCare which Rick was accused of last of endorsing via his endorsement of Arlen Specter. Both guys are running away from their record as fast and hard as they can. With those kind of hypocrites no wonder there's no real enthusiasm for any of their candidates. No candidates no real message no enthusiasm no chance in November.

Like Limbaugh some people keep running off at the mouth as if they have a coherent thought.

Great news! If Mitt would only flip-flop back to how he used to be, I'd consider him a much stronger candidate. Poor Mitty is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Tomorrow we will see Mitt Romney's ad using Rick Santorum's old comments. What a sad thing for the GOP, anything they said or did just a few years ago is now unacceptable, close to treason in the eyes of the far right which seems to control the party.

Yeah Jody, which is totally unlike Obama's old comments.

You know about raising gas prices, unemployment rates, the debt and deficit.

Yep, none of the things he said about those topics could ever be used against him, right Jody.

So Jody how will the electorate take a big dose of Obama's statements the need and his desire to get gas prices at European levels?

They will love it, right? I know you do.

For anyone interested in why gas prices are soaring the best sources to learn from are sources that report on business like the WSJ.

Today's edition of the WSJ has a terrific article titled, Drivers at the Mercy of Crude Prices by Tom Fowler. Here is a quote from the article:

America is pumping more oil out of the ground than it has in years thanks to a surge in onshore drilling. U.S. refineries are producing more gasoline and diesel than ever. And Americans' gasoline consumption is at an 11 year low.

So with all that supply and not much demand, why have gasoline prices risen high enough this year to resurface as a national political issue? The short answer, experts say, is that the global economy and geopolitics, not the U.S. industry or economy, are driving gasoline prices..........

Read the whole story and learn some facts.

Huh. What's the matter, your google button broken today, or is there something specific I can help you out with?

If that's the case you have exactly 9 minutes to advise - It's Thursday, and we all know what that means. :)

But now the German government is vowing to cut the subsidies sooner than planned, and to phase out support over the next five years. What went wrong?

There is a fundamental problem with subsidizing inefficient green technology: it is affordable only if it is done in...

        Romney is pretty liberal.

What else is new? Anyone who went over his governor record already knew that.

I'm half-convinced he actually hates his own party and used an (R) after his name to capitalize on his father's name.

And the (R) group keeps running him for president. Not quite sure if the (D) team would. He's a bit stiff to represent the 'Working Man' persona the Democrats project.

        Jon Huntsman was right.

This morning he appeared on Morning Joe and lamented the lack of "big ideas" coming from the Republican Party these days.

Roosevelt gave us the Square Deal.

Eisenhower gave us the Interstate system.

Nixon gave us normalized relations with China.

Reagan gave us the end of the Cold War.

Today's GOP gives us a bunch of spoiled children kicking sand at each other while fighting for control of the sandbox.

If Romney does get the nomination he has said he would repeal Roe v Wade with the person-hood amendment that he supports. That means anti-birth control. Romney is like a beached whale in tea land got so dragged to the right he is now plum out of the water with the mainstream.

Can't forget he is going to raise your taxes to pay for more tax cuts for himself and any shortfalls in the budget can just be taken from the middle class, the old, poor, the hungry, children, education, wounded veterans and the sick and anything else for the people of America that can be liquidated and handed to the rich 1%. Then we can finally be the christian nation that republicans want.

"Sanitarium Santorum" is a Confederate States Of America Politician. He has cultural, and social values of that of a Senator from the Confederate States Of America in or around 1861. "Sanitorium Santorum" believes in a Soutern Plantation Economy, and a Souhern Plantation Educational System. Now "Satan Santorum" believes that "Education is Evil." WOW! For "Sanitarium Santorum" thinking is evil and is not permitted in his very "Mentally Ill" World. For "Sanitorium Santorum" intellectual thought is evil, and all reading should be illegal. "Satan Santorum" is going to have a book burning party, which includes all religious texts. "Sanitarium Sanitorum" believes in no contraception methods, no rights for all women, no more "Educational Mills Of Evil." Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! The Party of NO has got to GO!
