Gingrich: Defeating Obama is 'a duty of national security'

TULSA, Okla. -- Newt Gingrich said Monday a Republican win in November is "a duty of national security," taking his attack on President Barack Obama a step further on the day the country celebrates Presidents Day.

"Defeating Barack Obama becomes, in fact, a duty of national security," Gingrich told a crowd of about 4,000 people on the campus of Oral Roberts University. "Because the fact is, he is incapable of defending the United States."

Gingrich, who frequently refers to Obama as the "the most dangerous president in modern American history," again said the country is at risk "someday in your lifetime of losing an American city" from a terrorist attack.

The former House speaker, who wears a pin with the flag of George Washington on his lapel to remind him of the meaning of being commander-in-chief, was especially harsh on the Obama administration’s policies towards Iran and Israel.

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich speaks during a town hall at Oral Roberts University on Monday.

Obama, Gingrich said on his first day in Oklahoma, "wants to unilaterally weaken the United States, he wants to cut the aid to Israel for its anti-ballistic missile defense, he refuses to take Iran seriously."

The rally at ORU started just a couple hours after the White House announced that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, would meet with Obama early next month.

Gingrich noted, “No American can second-guess an Israeli prime minister on the matter of survival,” and said his message to the Iranians would be simple.

"You need to stop your (nuclear) program before you get hit because you should be under no illusions, if you refuse to stop your program, long before it is completed you are going to get hit and we are not in any way going to stop the Israelis from defending themselves,’” he said.

I can't help but notice the intellectual vacuum represented by so many of the right wing bloggers. Note the name calling. Note the lack of substance in their replies to others. Note the total lack of knowledge about issues they claim to champion. Kinda reminds me of the republican candidates they're supporting.

Fact - Michele Obama skiing in Colorado, One of 17 vacations in 3 years since her hubby has been President. Total amount of vacations 4.1 million tax payers dollars. In a time when people are broke and worrying about paying mortgages, filling their gas tanks, heating their homes, feeding their children, Mrs. O living the good life. President Obama promised to cut the deficit, he must of been talking about his wife's credit card. Obama's days are numbered

Trust a guy who F--ked around on his 1st wife, and served her with divorce papers while going through cancer treatment at the hospital.

Fast forward to when he got caught "pants around ankles again", stating that this was driven by "love of country". ????????

An open $500,000 line of credit at Tiffany & Co. tells me that he "might?" / is not in touch with regular 9 to 5 America.

NATIONAL SECURITY ?

If this guy makes it to the GOP Convention, then wins given the stumbling turds we have seen during the past week, we can all pretend to be like it's the late 50's and 60's.

Newt and his harem will be well underground, or on Air Force 1.

He could give a rat's ass about America, and would go to this extreme to show he has balls! THE SAME BALLS IT TOOK TO LEAVE HIS WIFE WITH CANCER !

A GOP HERO! Country over wife.

A "Nuclear Threat" with this clown in charge ?

Here we go again...... all is well!

This mean-spirited awful rhetoric is why he was so divisive as Speaker of the House. We have had no major terrorist attacks on US soil during the Obama administration.

I believe this because we all know it's their only chance to field an electable candidate. I'm not so sure there's anyone out there that could successfully carry the banner since they have yet to establish a credible platform. It presently consists of nothing more than ABO. No plan for the economy,no plan for jobs, no plan to end war. They do have plans for eliminating things like the EPA, education, food stamps, health care and gun laws.

Should we even listen to this moron who was running for political office for the purpose of doing more shopping at Tiffany's. More diamonds for his new wife I suppose. And by the way this is his third wife. Mr. Gingrich was certainly paid quite handsomely for his speeches by the mortgage companies and by Wall Street. The man who says he is not rich but is in fact a multimillionaire. This is also a man that believes in trickle-down economics. Yeah just give the rich more so that you middle-class citizens can have less. That's in fact what has been going on for middle-class Americans over the past 30 years. Every since Ronald Reagan the rich get more while you the middle-class citizen gets less. If you open up your mouth about it then your labeled as a liberal, socialist or even communists. The Republican Party has successfully been able to get middle-class Republicans to consistently vote against themselves. Middle-class Republicans are even willing to believe that as a result of harsh economic times it is always the fault's of blacks, Mexicans and all minorities. But fear not middle-class Republicans one day you'll be in the 1% so you think. Meanwhile middle class Republicans will see to it that the 1% will not pay its fair share in taxes. I believe that the Republican Party if given the opportunity would repeal the 13th 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution. In addition they don't believe that Americans regardless of color should have the right to a decent living wage. The Republican Party is against the voting rights act. The Republican Party is against unions and the rights of Americans to have a decent working wage. In addition the Republican Party does not believe that one man one vote. The Republican Party with its supreme court majority has given corporations the right to vote and to participate in the political process. If you're not rich you're merely 3/5 of a man. Does this sound familiar? I'm sure you remember the Confederate states of America.

Sir... it doesn't appear that you have the ability to put together a simple thought or even conjugate a verb. I would therefore suggest that you attempt to communicate with others. Any attempt to have a discussion with me given your intellectual abilities would indeed be unfair and laughable.

Republicans are really funny. First they rant and rave that Obama and the dems should cut regulations on corporations. Then in the next sentence they rant and rave that it is Obama's fault that gas prices are high because he does not regulate big oil. If only he would approve that keystone pipeline then the oil could traverse the entire country BEFORE big Oil sells it to china or the highest bidder. Then the repubicans vote to give big oil some more tax breaks and subsidies. And somehow it is all Obama's fault that America has to pay a gas price that is still one of the LOWEST in the world. Go fill up your gas guzzling SUV in Germany and see how you enjoy paying an average of $8.60 for a gallon. Then be sure and carp and moan because Obama thinks it would be a really good idea if america at least attempted to get off the oil nipple? What makes american's think that we somehow will not end up paying the same very high prices charged in dozens of other countries?

How about we just do this instead of sanctioning Iran. DON'T deal with them at all.

Stupid ass countries that buy oil from Iran are now suffering so that is gonna drive up oil prices. I say screw them. Find another source and we keep ours. Guess what... you're sh!t out of luck now that Iran has cut you off. You never should have done business with terrorists to begin with. That will also drive Iran into the ground even more. Let them eat dirt and chase it down with a drink of that oil that won't be able to sell.

Not to say that Obama has been good for national security, but he has been much better than his predecessor.

He has got us out of Iraq and hopefully will get us out of Afghanistan, both these wars have been unmitigated disasters for our national security and the economy.

                  Secure the borders now.

You mean the exact same predecessor that put us there in the first place? We are, where we are now... because of those that got us here today. And it wasn't Obama...he merely inherited the big mess that they left and it has been hard to get out of.

The Teapublicans want it that way though, because they don't have the answers and would rather point blame at those in office instead. All while not helping one bit. Obstructionism is their way now. The choice of candidates they have now proves it. They are NOT in-it-to-win-it. They want 4 more years of the same so they can keep playing the blame game.
