Subscribe to RSSTULSA, Okla. -- Newt Gingrich said Monday a Republican win in November is "a duty of national security," taking his attack on President Barack Obama a step further on the day the country celebrates Presidents Day.
"Defeating Barack Obama becomes, in fact, a duty of national security," Gingrich told a crowd of about 4,000 people on the campus of Oral Roberts University. "Because the fact is, he is incapable of defending the United States."
Gingrich, who frequently refers to Obama as the "the most dangerous president in modern American history," again said the country is at risk "someday in your lifetime of losing an American city" from a terrorist attack.
The former House speaker, who wears a pin with the flag of George Washington on his lapel to remind him of the meaning of being commander-in-chief, was especially harsh on the Obama administration’s policies towards Iran and Israel.

Obama, Gingrich said on his first day in Oklahoma, "wants to unilaterally weaken the United States, he wants to cut the aid to Israel for its anti-ballistic missile defense, he refuses to take Iran seriously."
The rally at ORU started just a couple hours after the White House announced that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, would meet with Obama early next month.
Gingrich noted, “No American can second-guess an Israeli prime minister on the matter of survival,” and said his message to the Iranians would be simple.
"You need to stop your (nuclear) program before you get hit because you should be under no illusions, if you refuse to stop your program, long before it is completed you are going to get hit and we are not in any way going to stop the Israelis from defending themselves,’” he said.

Why have no major media (including MSNBC) reported on the recent meeting between FBI Director Mueller and some of the top Ar ab / Is lamic Americans leaders held on Feb 8 in which the FBI was instructed by Eric Holder DOJ and Pres. O bama to no longer use "offensive" words, phrases, tutorials, in FBI training. The only national security involved in defeating Obama is JOB security for some republikans - and talk about justice. Although they had some blue dog democratic help, it was the republikans who brought you this recession. Them and their corpororate masters.

As usual, Gingrich is full of $#!*. President Obama as "Commander in Chief" has done more to protect America in three years than his predecessor did in seven. During the Bush/Cheyney Rumsfeld administration, over five thousand dead military personnel, a trillion dollars spent, and Osama Bin Laden and Al Quieda operating with impunity. Under the Obama administration, Bin Laden, dead. Twenty two top Al Quieda leaders, dead. Our troops out of Iraq (a country that had NOTHING to do with terrorism against the US in the first place.) Somali pirates and kidnappers killed and/or captured while committing crimes against Americans abroad. Quadhaffi and his government overthrown in Libya. All done without one American soldier or marine on the ground and with NATO and the Libyan people doing all the hard work and taking the majority of the risk. A potential terrorist plot foiled in Washington DC just recently. Gingrich has no basis for his statement and needs to be called on it. We have been safer under three tears of President Obama than in eight years of President Bush.

So all you liberal dems who are paying NO taxes are voting to tax the rich more so your welfare checks will be larger should be paying a "MINIMUM TAX" 10% Federal, 5% State to at least have some skin in the game, otherwise you're just an observer!

President Teddy Roosevelt (R) believed in talking softly and carrying a big stick. He didn't say use the stick and if you get around to it you talk. Teddy was right and most Presidents have done that too. Then came Dubya and we got war, unfunded, unnecessary war to support the military-industrial-complex that he and particularly Cheney benefitted from. President Eisenhower (R) also warned about the military-industrial-complex but the extremists of today aren't listening to those two great men from their own party's past. Obama is talking softly, trying diplomacy and sanctions before we bomb, bomb,bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran.
Because countries like Iran controls the world's oil we have an increasingly vital reason to spend all we can in time, money and human intellegence and skill to making home grown, clean, renewable, sustainable energy as quickly as possible. Those folks in the Middle East want to live in the 14th Century and we should let them.

The GOP has always had radical nutcases, nothing new here. The only difference being that they also had a few sane, moderate and reasonable people. Those folks were taken out back and summarily executed, thus you now find complete headcases like Gingrich and Santorum running the Republican Party. I'm not one for making predictions as a rule, but if this nonsense keeps up, Obama will waltz his way back into his second term.
