UPDATED 6:20 PM ET...
The game of Poker in Michigan between Romney and Santorum allies just got a little richer.
The pro-Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future just bought up almost another $1 million in ad time in Michigan, bringing its overall buy so far to about $3.2 million, according to NBC/Republican ad-tracking firm Smart Media Group Delta.
This follows the Santorum campaign pushing more of its own chips in, adding $438,000 in ads in Michigan for the next two weeks, closing the gap with Romney and his allies somewhat.
Those buys followed a big $652,000 ad buy made earlier by the pro-Santorum Super PAC Red White and Blue Fund -- financed largely by Santorum supporter Foster Freiss.
Here's the current overall Michigan spending:
Pro-Romney: $3.2 million (Romney campaign $1.2 million; Restore Our Future $2 million)
Pro-Santorum: $1.1 million (Santorum $480,000; Red, White, and Blue Fund: $655,000)

Restore shelled out another $2 million for the week after next on broadcast in Arizona, Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama. Restore has now crossed the $20 million threshold for total ad spending this campaign -- $20.8 million.
Romney's campaign has now spent $13.4 million, bringing pro-Romney spending to a grand total of $34.2 million.
The next closest is $7.8 million in pro-Gingrich ads ($5.1 from Winning Our Future and $2.7 million from the campaign); then it's $6.1 million for Ron Paul; and $4.2 million for Santorum ($2.1 million apiece for the campaign and Red, White, and Blue Fund).

Don't forget to remind people in MI they better prepare themselves for $5+ per gallon gas at the pump this summer and how Obama has us headed in the wrong direction when it comes to energy.
Liberals - how is that clean energy alternative working out for ya? Well, at least GM sold 4,000 Volts last year. With, as I recall, a $10,000 tax credit to the buyer no less. Lmao! Dealers won't even take them into inventory right now.
President Obama, how is the micro-management of the car manufacturing business by the govt. working out for you? Do you and your bureaucrats know anything about the car business? you don't? Then why are you in it?
rebel: sorry old troll. No matter how much you repeat, ad nauseum, your wing nut taking points they will still be false. We are all aware that the right wing echo chamber distorts, or ignores, reality and lies liberally as long as they can put our nation back in the hands of the uber-rich and return us to the course of serfdom that the ReupubliCAN'T party has in store for us.
And we are well aware that you hate the idea of prosperity for all Americans and wish that the auto industry as well as other American manufacturing should be done away with.
Politician Death Match! It's time.
THE ONLY THING THAT WILL GET THEM VOTES IS THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN ; they better stay far from those tanning salons. like , '' until the end of the elections ''.
A few months ago Obama’s chances of being re-elected were next to none. The GOP could possibly have picked any ultra-conservative (maybe even Palin) and he or she could have won. Things have changed. The economy is perceived as improving. His approval numbers are climbing. And the electorate has watched the candidates rip each other to shreds with a debate soap opera and, yes, PAC attack ads. Newt’s run is over, Ron’s great but he’ll never win, and Rick might be the rising-star underdog. But he is definitely not a fiscal conservative and Obama and Media Matters will hammer him with his right wing social evangelical beliefs. He has absolutely no chance in the general election. The true conservative who can take us across the finish line in November is Romney. He may not be the most animated, but consider this. All the reasons the base may not quite consider him conservative enough, are the exact reasons he will carry the marginal and independent voters necessary to win against the Democratic machine. Make no mistake, voting to nominate Rick or anyone else will guarantee 4 more years of Obama. Then, when you wake up November 7th and see his landslide victory and wonder how this could happen, go look in the mirror. Wake up! Vote Romney 2012.
All the republican candidates are so far from the middle that the only ones that would be able to make a living will be tham and their 1%er buddies. It's time that the lower and middle class retake this country and make it one to be proud of...All you republicans take the rest of this year off and go on one of your expensive vacations.
I don't give a damn what Santorum believes, what Mutt Romney believes, what Ron Paul believes, or what Newter Gingrich believes. Whoever is the nominee will lose the election, big time, possibly a landslide and an embarrassment for the Republicant's. This campaign just shows how messed up the Republican Party really is.
PRESIDENT OBAMA 2012
For the news media to focus on social issues when covering Presidential candidates is a way in which to deflect the public and it's opinion from the serious problems we face as a country.
For Presidential candidates, allowing the news media to change their focus from the serious problems we face as a country simply shows the weakness of the presidental candidates to stand up for America and Americans and come up with ways in which to solve those serious problems we face.
If "We the People of the United States" don't have an America to live in, because of all the problems created by the politicians, then the social issues that seem to so captivate the news media will mean very little when there is no America as we know it, left.
Those that believe America will not change simply has to look at the changes from the 1990s to today where we have a government that creates laws to tell us what we can and can not eat, what we must buy.
That's not the America my parents who fought during WWII lived in. It's not the America I grew up. It's a changed America and one in decline and one I believe most americans wonder what's happening to.
We don't have politicians we elected to run our country that have ALL americans best interests in mind when they create laws. We have a bunch of politicians who only care about groups of americans, often representing a minority of the population, and create laws for them. It's no wonder that the majority of Americans have such a low opinion of those we elected to run our country.
