Former '12 GOP candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., joins Morning Joe to discuss life after campaigning, whom she'll support for president, the payroll tax cut, President Obama, and her advice for the remaining '12 candidates.
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann suggested she may wait to endorse whomever wins the Republican nomination in her first appearance Wednesday on MSNBC since dropping out of the presidential race.
"My decision’s already made. I’m on board with whoever the nominee will be, because I’m all in for defeating Barack Obama in the upcoming election," Bachmann said, adding later, "I just think it’s very clear that we haven’t seen any of the candidates make the final sale."
The remarks cast further doubt that Bachmann will make an endorsement in the coming weeks.
(A report in the Boston Globe that Bachmann was in “negotiations” to endorse Mitt Romney days before the Minnesota caucuses won pushback from the Congresswoman herself, who declared the story “completely false.”)
Asked whether her resistance to endorsing is a signal that the field is weak, Bachmann deferred, drawing a parallel to 2008.
"We saw Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton literally giving each other black eyes,” Bachmann said.
“It wasn’t pretty four years ago, on the Democrat side of the ticket,” she continued, adding, “I think once our side decides on a candidate, then we’ll lock arms, we will be all-in together.”
The payroll tax cut fight also came up during her interview. Bachmann reiterated her opposition to the cut, insisting as she often did during her run that the money was drawn from a “social security trust fund.”
“When you go to the general treasury and open the door to that vault, only moths and feathers fly out. There’s nothing in there. We’re broke,” Bachmann said.
Bachmann dropped out of the race on Jan. 4, one day after finishing last among the Republican candidates competing in the Iowa caucuses.

...and every remaining candidate is breathing a sigh of relief, worried she just might pick him.
“When you go to the general treasury and open the door to that vault, only moths and feathers fly out. There’s nothing in there. We’re broke,” Bachmann said.
You know the sad thing is that she probably believes there is an actual vault in DC filled with moths and feathers.

No. The REALLY sad thing is that people like you think we're NOT broke, and that we can/should spend more money on people who do NOTHING to help themesleves.
nisl's comment are consistent with obama's base... bunch of wackos wth no understanding of irony or metaphors! lol!

Nothing said about jobs... Nothing about the economy... Nothing about Social Security... Nothing said about health care... I'm surprised that starting a war with, lets say Iran, is not even mentioned...
The only thing that the repubican party is interested in is getting president Obama out of office... Are you kidding me? This is what our country is working towards?
I truly feel that the republican party is a party that is on it's last leg... They just don't get it... America is all about having the ability of moving up in ones life... It's called the middle class that the Reagon people left behind...
Oh, I think anyone who has been watching this nominating race now recognizes both, as each candidate takes multiple turns stepping in a big, ironic pile of metaphor.
and every remaining candidate is breathing a sigh of relief, worried she just might pick him.
I couldn't agree more Paul.
Does it really matter to anyone who she endorses? The woman was washed out of the primaries because most people saw her as delusional and incompetent. Why would anyone want her endorsement?

Damn, the Democrat she beat to win her seat in congress must have bee a REAL loser!
J. Merle, it is so sad the amount of hate you carry with you. You hated President Obama even before he was elected and now feel you need to lie about his accomplishments.
Are you telling us you would rather vote for a party that wants to take birth control away from the people and then call it freedom?
Are you telling us you would rather vote for a party that wants to take social security away from the people and then call it freedom?
Are you telling us you would rather vote for a party that wants to raise taxes on the poor to pay for Romney getting more tax cuts?
Are you telling us you would rather vote for a party that wants to spend billions killing people in another country rather than spend money for America?
I find it ironic that the party of pro-war and pro-death thinks they can pass themselves off as pro-life.
You always claimed to be for Hillary, why would you vote against everything she stands for?
Damn, the Democrat she beat to win her seat in congress must have bee a REAL loser!
Well J. Merle, I suppose you're right. If Bachmann beat someone they must have been a real loser.
But that doesn't take away from the fact that she to is a loser. It simply means that the other candidate was less viable than she.
Don't let anyone fool themselves... A lot of people listen to this ding-bat... Maybe not the more intelligent people of this country, but enough nut-jobs that do have an influence on elections...
Just watch anyone of the republican debate for president... And right away one sees the thinking of some of our fellow Americans...
Bachmann, like Pat Robertson, Sara Palin etc. are dangerous people to be careful of...
But the democrat she's matched up with, for the Minnesota Senate, is giving her a 20pt drubbing in the polling right now.
She's a big fish in a small pond, as she's going to find out in election.
Even Pawlenty is getting drubbed in the same match-up to Amy Klobuchar by about the same margin.
That's what they said after the 2008 election, that the GOP would be a "Regional" party. How did that work out again in 2010? Not much of a student of history are you.
Dangerous? In what way? Because they share an opinion different than yours? Get a grip.
Nobody is taking it away. They just don't want to be forced (mandated) to pay for it. Why is birth control exempted from co-pays?
Which party has underfunded SS for the last 2 years through a payroll tax cut and wants a 10 month extension?
Most of the Democratic party want to end the Bush tax cuts. These cuts included lowering the 15% to 10%, increasing the child income benefit to $1000, and eliminating the marriage penalty. Are you supporting these tax increases on the poor? also, the President's current position is to pass the Buffet rule while eliminating the AMT. Only problem is, is that the AMT brings in around 5 times the revenue that is projected for the Buffet rule so the President's plan would actually increase the deficit. You for this?
I guess the kinetic action in Libya doesn't count as spending billions and killing people in another country? I guess those drones that blow up people in Pakistan is an illusion. Those 30,000 troops sent to Afghanistan in 2010 were sent on orders left over from Bush?
Paul, so true, especially Mitt Romney who is already stuck with Donald Trump.
American First, great job rebutting J Merle!
Why wait to endorse a loser? Anyway she pitches it, it is a losing pitch.
Ursula ... when I worked at a casino, I had two women get in a knock-down fight when one left a slot after an hour playing and the other sat down and hit a jackpot on her first hit. The first woman wanted a cut of the payout because she had "warmed" up the machine.
It's shocking to see so many people defending this clueless idiot. I do respect that everyone has their own opinion, but...really? You can't support Obama yet you think this hack has the answers? The previous posts who were angry about health care reform can place that blame solely with republicans who denied us a single payer option like the rest of the developed world has. Why are you so against your government taking care of its people?
I grew up in South Dakota, and in that part of the country, there are few liberal areas (I love Oregon!). The only reason she was ever elected in the first place is because she's in a very conservative district. Charles Manson could probably win her district if he had an (R) next to his name. It's always bad to see people vote against their interests because they are told to by Fox.

First of all, I haven't lied about any of Obama's "accomplishments" because he has very, very few, if any at all.
Secondly, try as I might to find all of the things you LIE about with regard to the Republican party; I couldn't find a single one of them on their party platform for 2012.
Lastly, I was a registered Democrat while you were pissing in your diapers, and sucking your momma's tit-milk. Hillary isn't necessarily for ALL the things Obama is. HER health care plan had a public option! HER plan for Iraq called for an earlier withdrawal of our combat troops. She's also married to the man who inspired the largest and longest lasting economic expansion in the history of this country. Obama couldn't shine Bill Clinton's shoes when it comes to economics, and I'll bet at least SOME of that rubbed off on Hillary. I sincerely believe we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now, if SHE was President.
But, instead we have this MORON who can't get out of his own way, and IDIOTS like you who credit him with everything from inventing the airplane to curing AIDS. (Figuratively speaking, of course.....you DO know what that means, right?)
Fact is, Obama hasn't done @!$%#, and doesn't deserve a second term. I'll vote for a Democrat again , when you give me a REAL Democrat, and not a Green Party Puke in a shinny new suite.
By the way folks.....have you seen the things the people on this board call Newt Gingrich, and Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum.....and then they have the chutzpa to label what someone else says about Obama as "hateful"......"
Totally Unbelievable
So, basically, she's going to wait and jump on someone's bandwagon.

Yeah, the same way "Cheatin' Johnny" Edwards jumped on Obama's bandwagon in 2008.

Question Rep. Bachmann. Who won four years ago? The Democrat(ic) side.
It was a campaign, a campaign in which Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton quickly stood together on the same team, for the benefit of the country in 2009. And it has worked out very well.
Best of luck with the GOP this campaign season. Count all the votes.
Pat Boston MA.

Oh, you mean like the way the Democrats counted all the votes in the Florida and Michigan primaries back in '08'? Hillary is a TRUE Democrat, and a team player. Not a fast talking, shucking & jiving used car salesman like Obama. THAT's why she worked with the party to get him elected........and Thank God Bill Clinton is giving him advice or we'd be in WORSE condition than we are.
Don't you think it is time you learn from your hero and stand with the president like she did?
Pat, Boston
I can't remember who pointed it out last week; but when the Repubs quote the four years ago thing and mention McCain - (I think it was Lawrence O'Donnel) who said, you think maybe they should mirror the team that won?
Looks like J. Merle's feefee's are still hurt that Hilary got blown out of the contest by a superior politician. Still harboring the 'grudge' over DNC rules that were broken, eh?
Someone call the Whaaaambulance.
J. Merle, I am a little curious, since you're going with the pious approach. Do you really believe standing on one side of the abyss and slinging YOUR brand of immature commentary is somehow, I don't know - 'better' than Feisty? Cuz' from the cheap seats,...I gotta' tell ya'. I'm not seeing it.
We'll know you've matured when you put those of us you don't enjoy the back and forth with on ignore. Until then,...soldier on. Hilary for President - 2016! (I'll be right there with you on that one!)
Best bet for the Dems is to get Santorum or Gingrich in the General.
That's not just a blowout, I'd be willing to bed 20-30% of the republicans don't even show up at the polls. Great chance for anyone looking to get into local politics to run against an incumbent republican. State assembly/senate/house of reps, etc
J. Merley, President Obama is actually quite competent. More so than any candidate who ran in 2008. It's nice to see a party with both Presidents Obama and Bill Clinton. We are fortunate.
So sorry, I don't share your opinion of President Obama. I don't believe most leaders in the world do either. And reading what you wrote about President Obama, perhaps you shouldn't judge Feisty too harshly. You appear to be pretty much what you accuse Feisty of being.
Hello Clara, how are you?! So so sorry I couldn't meet up with you this year. Things are still the same, not good.
Please think about traveling to NYC or Boston next year. I would love to meet you.
As far as J. Merley, who cares.
Check out the Brewers jersey Gov. Walker presented to President Obama today. Really really nice jersey; I just love the color scheme.
Oh, Pat! I hope your brother is well. I do not have plans to hit the Boston area anytime soon. Darn it! This summer is Moab, Sequyah and Zion parks with the kidlets and Vegas with the politics. Must see my sil in DC the week before Christmas. You know how the kidlet schedule determines the vacations, right?
Hope to get to the Cape in 2013 or 2014, as it is truly one of my favorite places on earth! Be well and know we are all thinking of you!
Pat, Boston, touche'!
Clara, well said.
There is no comparison to what is happening in the GOP primary and the Democrats in 2008. Democrats liked and respected both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama; no matter which of the two became the nominee, the other side would have rallied behind them. Clinton and Obama did not attack each other's character, they respected each other and they went after the differences in their policies.
Wow Clara! Enjoy your travels. DC I love just as much as I love NYC.
We'll get together one of these days (or years haha!)
Jody, there is absolutely no comparison between the two parties. None whatsover. In Santorum you have a guy running to be the Pope. In Romney you have a guy who thinks he's just climbing up the corporate ladder to the corner office with a view.
I hope Santorum nails him in Michigan after what Mitt said about the auto industry way back when.
Pat -
I see what you mean about the jersey. But hey, I'll give Scott Walker a bit of credit - it's a much more pleasant picture of a Governor welcoming a President on the airport tarmac than that one with Jan Brewer in Arizona was. Good on Walker for being able to be a good "sport" for a few minutes.
I'm sorry you won't be able to make it too - me neither - and I was soooo looking forward to our duet of "Do You Hear the People Sing?" in the elevators, too. Someday......till then, hope things turn around for your family; will keep you in my thoughts.
Pat Boston MA.

Patsy.....if Obama is so "competent", then WHY are we still in a recession (and we are, regardless of what kind of hogwash David Axlerod spews).....? Why aren't more people going back to work? Why do we have almost double digit unemployment after three years of ObamaNOMICS? Why doesn't the health-care bill he signed into law contain a public option? Why did premiums SKYROCKET right after that bill was signed? WHY is it being challenged in the supreme court? WHY is he now going to take Super PAC money after saying he wouldn't, and after saying he wanted corporate money out of political campaigns in Washington DC? WHY did he give special favors to Selig Technology, and Solyndra (two of the Democratic Party's biggest contributors) after saying he wanted to "change" things like that?
Huh, PATSY, can you tell us WHY Obama says one thing, and then does something completely different? WHY DID OBAMA LIE TO US DURING THE CAMPAIGN IN 2008?
You are just an ObamaNIAC (or ObaMANIAC, you choose the pronunciation) that's all.
This guy could steal an old lady's purse in Macy's front window at high noon, and you would STILL vote for him.
LOLOLOLOL..........Then again, what should we expect from someone who thinks NastyRedNeck's posts contain any semblance of any intellectual value.
You are a sad, sad, little man who hates his country and wants to see it continue to FAIL. I don't know what world leaders to which you refer.
But, I couldn't give a @!$%# less what anyone who can't vote here, or who lives thousands of miles away in economically/socially challenged areas of the world thinks about the President of The United States.
WE are the world's leader, and the greatest nation on this earth, and if you don't think so, then you should consider moving someplace else.
Oh, I forgot; the Obama Democrats all believe in "blame america first." (Obama Democrats being all the little "Green" twerps who will abandon the party the next time a blue-dog, mainstream candidate wins the nomination.)

She'll probably wait to see who the nominee is, which isn't that dumb a move. Makes her endorsement worthwhile. To endorse someone now, who might not get the nomination, makes her look like a front-runner come election time.
I'm not much of a Bachmann fan either. But, she DID beat her Democratic counterpart in order to win her seat and that counts for something.
So much for right-wingers and their avowed loyalty to the constitution. One little Feisty Redhead on the planet and they are ready to rewrite our founding document. Free speech, as long as it's right-wing speech, freedom of religion, as long as it's the Republican version of Christianity.

Oh goody! I just can't wait to see who gets the kiss of death from Bachmann. Personally she is old news and I really don't give a rat's patootie what she thinks or who she endorses or anything else about her.
Bachmann is a disgrace in MN, the USA, and to women. Let's all just hope that her lies, hatred, and fear tactics leave her unelected.
I am no Bachmann fan but looks like the great state of Illinois has a lot of disgraces too.
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/02/14/chicago-called-most-corrupt-city-in-nation/
Poor Mrs. Bachmann is deluding herself into believing that her words carry any real weight. The only "gravitas" she possesses is the fact that she hasn't simply floated off into space.
It's too bad she backed out on Mitt. He could perhaps have had the Donald and the Bat--it on stage endorsing him at the same time. I would think long and hard about taking an endorsement from some of this field. Willard has got that strange quality that might appeal to Michelle. But Santorum is against contraception, so she's got to be tempted by that. Weathervane versus Insane. She'll probably end up with the Weathervane, inasmuch as he would promise her the moon.
Isn't her 15 minutes up yet? Geez we know what wonderful things endorsements do - Not a thing!
And who would want her endorsement...unles it is a way to get out of the race.
Somebody call the Spam police on J Merle Stanley!
LOL!!!
Sssshhh... she seems to have run out of steam!
Whew .. someone had a nasty case of that male-cycle DSB (deadly sp(olive)rm buildup). Goes to show you shouldn't rely on the rhythm method - that long in-between waiting period allows an embarrassing and deadly build up that unwittingly ends up being spewed all over the place. I'm sure the poor thing is out like a light, snoring away.
In a perfect progressive, evolving world, Santorum will get the nod and receive Bachmann's blessing.....then Obama wins in a landslide. Oh, and if Santorum brought up the whole birth certificate thing, that would just be icing on the cake. It would let the TPs, fundies and birthers know just how the rest of the country feels about them.
I can't imagine Santorum doing well enough with women to compete in November..Even some of the pro lifer women would have to think twice about him trying to take them back to the fifties..
Mit Vs Obama , coming this november...
Anyone else going to lose sleep waiting on this?
Farewell Michele, our fondest goodbyes, no more lies from the girl with crazy lies.
Too bad you couldn't win the race, go stick a corndog in your face.
Your lips tell lies, at least one a minute, your god had a plan, you just weren't in it.
Your messages were oh so sweet, if someone can't work, they just shouldn't eat.
Or John Wayne Gacy a mid west resident, and make Obama a one term president!
And flinging @!$%# into the air, and oh yeah, repeal Obamacare.
And now your career is on the skids, stay home and raise those foster kids.
We just don't need that crazy talk. Find a short pier and take a long walk.
You're submissive and brainwashed, there is no doubt, So open the closet and let Marcus out.
Well I'll stop now, but I could go on. I'll be glad when your career is gone.
bluebird sister --- precious!
Talk about being one big phony, Bachmann takes the cake! Pick the winner after it's won. These are the kind of people we have trying to run this country, a bunch of more phony-ism. Say what the crowd wants to hear, then go to another rally and say something totally opposite. Sick & tired of voting for the least of the worse out of them all running. I still am for a new system of government, because of the fact that what we have has put us in decline. Such a decline that we haven't seen since the depression era with more crooks & greed a head of our own country and the people that made us strong, the 40 hrs a week working man.
What is the value of a Bachmann endorsement - she has no substance. Republicans are riding in a rudderless ship.
Gee, we can hardly wait for the dingbat's blessing. I'm sure her endorsement will be a game changer.
teabaggers= Idiots following Idiots
I am sure every last one of the nutbag candidates on the right is praying she does not pick them. If you look up the term crazy in the dictionary it will tell you to see Michelle Bachmann
i'd like to see both bachmann and sarah failin ride off into the sunset with paul revere. they're both a joke.
Who seriously gives a damn who this woman endorses? It's laughable that she really thinks she's that important or relevant.
