Congress: Payroll tax debate reappears

The New York Times writes, “Any hope for a fast and quiet resolution to the Congressional battle over a payroll tax cut seemed to dim Tuesday as members of a bipartisan negotiating committee clashed over how to pay for the extension, and Senate Democrats suggested that they would come up with their own bill to get the matter resolved.”

Our Teapublican governor is currently fighting with his Republican-majority legislature over how many poor, sick childless people they will cut from Medicaid. The legislature wants to cut some of them, and the governor wants to cut all of them.

"Better not muck this up!" Hope they (congress) listen or suffer their own demise. And thank you Mr. President, for keeping the Catholic church out of my bedroom and vagina. If they don't want to provide reproductive services to women then they can get out of the health care and education business. We are a secular society by design.

MickeyNY, they actually dont hate America, they just hate the middle class and the poor, they love the American rich so much that cutting their taxes need not be paid for but just mention middle class tax cut, they want it paid for by cutting food stamps, medicaid and social security, they have bankrupted us by borrowing from the so called lock box to finance rich people tax cuts. Why do you think Bush ten years tax cut for the rich did not require the same, how to pay for it as a condition even 2 years ago when it was extended by the insistence of the GOP. The just hate the common man. Imagine that all GOP newly elected governors want to punish the middle class wage erners by disenfranchising labor by comparing Chinese and Indian slave labor as a shining example of what we should emulate and call European labor unions socialist because labour unions have a right to negotiate fair wage but American labor should go by the Chinese and Indian standards. Our 1% center CEO's get paid more like the Europeans but not like Chinese and Indian CEO's. Why cant the GOP governors mandate in their states that what is good for the goose should also be good for the gander?

Did you send your tax rebate check back to the government you received from the Bush administration?

You and people like you will keep this country divided.

1%...lol....99% of people in America is not poor/working poor nor do they fall into the middle class whatever the cut-off is for that.

The "Gross Odd People" (GOP), and the "Really Not Competent" (RNC) are getting ready too say "NO" to everything the President presents to them. Again! "Mickey Mouse Mitch McConnell" is keeping his message alive to all Tea Begger "Zombies." To destroy an American President. The "Hoodlum's On The Hill" are getting ready to "Super Spew" lies. Again! Towards the President Of The United States. The "Bonehead Boehner Bunch" is going to distract America on social issues. When "Bonehead Boehner" has NO Jobs Plan, NO fair tax plan, NO fair trade plan, NO fair immigration plan, and NO concern for 99% of Americans. "Crazy Cantor's Cronies" is going to be still dancing around with rotten tea bags hanging from his economically closed ears. Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! The Party Of NO has got to go!!
