How many Latino's are going to warm up to a coupon clipper who makes $24 million a year doing nothing-just living off the interest of all the companies he's crashed and cashed out of? And where are they as a whole because of the republan insistence that all goverment doucments be in english and no other? where are thy on health care-if they canget it-in most republican states they can't even if the show up at the emrgency room.

The my gardener's an illeagal immigrant thing grows thin after a while

And it's hard to believe about "shared sacrifice" while Romney just closed his secret swiss bank account. (the ones we know about, anyway)

Obama is pro illegal immigration. The Latino population wants to reach critical mass and supports illegal immigration. Of course any opponent of illegal immigration is not going to get as many Latino votes in a general election as Obama. So what. We still have the majority. What we need to do is complete the fence from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean and properly man and equip it. Then change the Constitution to eleminate anchor babies. Then begin the process of deporting the illegal aliens. We might not get all of them, but most of them.

    Joe said:

    Obama is pro illegal immigration.

    No.

    Bush, 1994:

    Under Bush in 1994 the immigrant detention system held 6,000 detainees.

    All were verified illegals referred through the prison system.

    There were 11,000 border guards and after 9-11, he added 500 National Guard troops.

    Homeland Security's budget was $49 million

    President Obama, 2010

    Under President Obama in 2010 the immigrant detention system has swelled to an average of 33,000 per night per year.

    This constitutes a mix of:

    a)US citizens wrongly identified as illegals;

    b)undocumented persons whose applications were lost or mishandled;

    c)refugees seeking political asylum;

    d)refugees of natural disasters;

    e)human trafficking victims;

    f)UAMs or unaccompanied minors (children who are not legal but their parents are, or 'illegal' children orphaned through violence or disaster, or orphaned children whose adoptive parents were scammed by unscrupulous international adoption agencies)

    g) the stereotypical 'illegal' border-hopping drug mule.

    There are 18,000+border patrol agents who are exempt from government furlough days and 1200 National Guard troops at the border, along with several unmanned Predator drones.

    Homeland Security's budget is now $89 billion.

    Homeland Security poured over 2 million dollars into development of, and are currently testing, multiple technologies:

    Wide Area Surveillance System (WASS). It is a normal/infrared (normal during the day, infrared at night) scanning technology that can constantly monitor anywhere between 4-10 square miles of land. This system can be mounted on a Predator drone and is currently being tested in flyovers of Nogales, AZ.

    Retina scanning technology: accurate up to 50 feet away while person is running. Can be combined with the WASS or the FAST system below.

    Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST): based on the idea that anyone about to commit a crime will have physiological indicators, this system utilizes infrared scanning, pulse monitoring, respiration monitoring and retinal scanning to predict nervousness in an individual so they can be apprehended prior to commission of an illegal act or to apprehend someone who has already committed one. Early tests done with groups of volunteers who were individually told to either act suspiciously (or not) while waking in range of the scanner proved the machine had a 70% accuracy rate, and it is now being tested 'in an undisclosed location in the Northeast'.

    Portable DNA scanner/analyzer: This system takes a cheek swab from a person, which is then placed in a scanning chamber and will produce a DNA analysis result in 10 seconds. DHS intends to use this in airports, refugee camps and border checkpoints to be sure that a child in the company of an adult who is actually related to them, also to catch possible relatives of terrorists and/or suspected terrorists, to make sure a child is not smuggled or being trafficked into the US illegally.

      You mean sort of like Obama's pandering to the gay voters by eliminating Dont Ask Dont Tell while being against Gay Marriage? Or pandering to the anti war/terrorist voters by saying he will close Guantanamo and eliminate enhanced interrogation techniques but continues rendition, doesnt close guantanamo and retains virtually all of Bush's anti terrorist policies? Or pandering to the anti wall street crowd and campaigns repeatedly about the fairness and inequity in our system while taking millions and millions of campaign funds from Wall Street and hires ex Goldman Sachs employees to fill his cabinet level positions and bails out most of the large banks? You mean Let me get this straight sort of behavior that your find Unbelievable?

      By "Latinos in Florida" for Romney, I assume we are talking about Cubans, since a lot of them are well-off. Of course they like Mittens. They're part of the 1% Romney is fighting for. Nation-wide, I don't think he will do so well. Most latinos in the U.S., like most Americans, are just trying to get by and make a living - you know, the 99%.

            Is there some poll somewhere that gives any of the Republican candidates any chance in the general election?? Or even a poll that shows Republicans in the lead with some segment of the population??

            Even the hardcore Republicans do not want to vote for any of their own candidates

            Latino's in Florida are a whole different matter from the Hispanic's in the south and west.........Cuban's can't be illegal.....just get here and all is well. The illegals coming up from Mexico and Central America will bring the GOP/TP down for their hateful rhetoric ranging from imprisionment to shooting them at the border. Way more Hispanic's than Latino's in this country that vote.

              KS, To what do you base your comment that the GOP/TP hateful rhetoric. I've never heard of shooting and imprisionment for any illegals. Deportation, yes. The enforcement of the US laws are favored by democrats, republicans, independents, and other parties. Some want to ignore the law or soften the response to lawbreakers, but I don't think it can be assigned to any one party.

                  To piggyback on KS's 7:03 post, too many of Hibernian persuasion celebrate St. Patrick's Day and dredge up the memory of the "NINA" notation (No Irish Need Apply) appended to help-wanted ads or placed in windows of businesses and then unfortunately continue committing the same exclusionary approach to others as had been committed earlier on our ancestors.

                      Hispanics are hard working people who want jobs and a chance to share in the American Dream. They are not nearly as stupid, blind sheep as the Democrats think. Romney has already won a great deal of them over. When we get to November, he'll cream the Media Matters machine. Florida is a shoo-in. Romney wins in a landslide. Obama has brought misery for all Americans. Romney will deliver prosperity for everyone.

                          Unless they are successful in suppressing the vote like they are trying to do. The GOP and it's supporters are going to learn a valuable lesson. Words have consequences. You can not say anything you want about people and not have it bite you later. All the hate speech against Latinos to pander to the Tea Party will be a costly mistake. Not just now but going forward as well.

                            Always good to see the liberal media divide the American electorate by race in order to get others of the same race to feel like should all vote the same way rather than what is best for the future of the nation.

                            Forget the media BS and vote for the future of the nation you live in rather than for who will pay the most for your vote... after all it is your childrens and grandchildrens money they are stealing to bribe you with.

                            Republicans still insist that their hatred of Obama has nothing to do with his race.

                            It would be a lot more convincing if they stopped using bigotry as a campaign strategy and had factually based reasons for hating him.

                            Unless Republicans start coming up with credible, fact based reasons for hating Obama, Democrats and Independents are left with no alternative but to conclude that Republicans hate Obama because of his race.

                            I don't hate Obama. I don't know anybody that hates Obama either. He is a likeable guy. A good father and faithful loving husband.

                            His only problem is that he got stuck in the wrong job. He is no President. Not even close, and it shows evey day.

                            He would have excelled as a salesman, a PR man, a waiter, a consultant. Plenty of career paths he could be really good at.

                            As a person pretending to be the President,....he sucks.

According to Pew Research, the GOP disapproval rating soard to 59% after the debt ceiling circus and 47% of REPUBLICANS didnt approve of the jobs the Republcians were doing in Congress. As for debt and deficits, it is a matter of official record that the last 3 GOP presidents signed TWENTY that took the debt from under $1T to almost $12T AND saddled Obama with a $1.3T deficit BEFORE he took office! if you check,. you'll see the "obama deficits" are nearly exactly the amount he inherited! And how do you think voters will react as they find out the GOP created this debt crisis DELIBERATELY so they could privatize SS and Medicare??? NOT very well, I ASSURE YOU!
