Mitt Romney cleans up with Latinos in the GOP primary in Florida beating Newt Gingrich, 42%-25%, a similar margin to his overall statewide total (42%-27%), according to an NBC-Marist poll released Sunday. (Latinos made up 12% of GOP primary likely voters, the same margin that voted in the 2008 GOP primary, according to exit polls.)

But against President Obama, Romney and the rest of the Republican candidates struggle with the group.
Obama's approval with Latinos in Florida (51%/36%) is higher than his overall approval in the poll (46%/46%). (Latinos made up 21% of the overall respondents in the poll.)

The margin against Romney is similar to what Obama won in 2008 against John McCain.
In 2008, Obama won Latinos 57%-42%, a 15-point spread, in Florida. According to the NBC/Marist poll, he wins them in the Sunshine State by 16 points -- with 3 points fewer for Obama and 4 fewer for Romney.

Considering that the bagger party has been bad mouthing Hispanics and every other minority group for decades it's no wonder they are doing badly amongt that demographic. The only Hispanics dumb enough to vote bagger religiously are the Cubans in S. Florida with their one issue set minds.
The entire Republican party has no problem with latino citizens. It is the illegal aliens that are, and continue to be, the problem.

I legally have no ancestors because I don't have an original birth certificate that shows where or when I was born, who I was born to, and what my name was at birth.
I was adopted in America by a Vietnam Army vet and his wife. They never wanted me to know Id been abandoned and my birth parents obviously hadn't wanted me) so they never told me before they passed away.
Did that matter to ICE? Heck yes. USCIS lost my adoption record and decided that made me illegal. Since I didn't even know I was adopted and Dad and Mom didn't keep any paperwork fearing I would find out, I spent 3 yrs in ICE deportation camp. They couldn't 'send me back' because I had no paperwork showing where I was legally from (the country in which the orphanage was refused to recognize any claim I could have to be deported to them) ICE couldn't let me stay because USCIS lost my adoption paper, so my only choice was to sit in a deportation camp until I found the paper. Because Dad was in the military we moved around a lot so there were a lot of courthouses in 3 different states in which the record could have been filed.
Here is a number that will hurt Obama with Hispanics, 11%. That is the Hispanic unemployment rate, but it was 8.7% when Obama was elected.
Bush & GOP create this mess, it will take a little longer to clean up especially when you have GOP obstruction in every sound policy, in fact, GOP reject reject jobs bill that would create over 300 thousands jobs, but ok with keystone pipeline policy. Here is GOP spin that people don't know.
Do you know that we borrow China $700 billion dollars a year to pay for super rich tax cut, because this is what the GOP wants? Further, in the eyes of GOP, this $700 billion dollars do not drive federal deficit, but jobs growth. Where are the jobs creations from $700 billion dollars tax cut? According to Newt, we’re still affected by 911. Isn’t this more than 10 years ago? Apparently, Newt, Mitt, and GOP are still in denial or in a coma. Not too long ago in 2008, GOP & Bush brought down the U.S and global economy, and now they’re an expert on fixing this?
GOP and Tear Party, please stop pretending like you care about federal deficit when you're the one that drive the federal deficit--from two wars that unpaid for and borrow $700 billion dollars a year from China to pay for super rich tax cut that they don't need.
The truth is "We the People" created this mess by first voting into office over and over again the kind of politicians who destroy the country on both sides of the aisle, second, by continuing to think that we can get into debt, spend what we don't have, and that somehow magically we will always be able to pay our bills, and if that doesn't happen, then we think that government should take from those guys who planned better and spent more wisely and give there money to us. That is the worst thinking imaginable and "We the People" continue to do it.

have you looked at the quality of the bills sitting on Harry's desk that constitute the Job Creating Legislation. My favorite is the one written by the cement lobby. About 2500 workers contract a type of lung cancer by breathing in the cement dust. The govt now mandates the use of breathing apparatus to prevent them from contracting cancer. Thats why we need HR 2681 the bill written by the cement lobby called Cement Sector Regulatory Relief Act. Get rid of those expensive breathing apparatus and despite the non existence of construction hiring the industry being freed from this expensive regulation will unleash a tidal wave of cement production that the whole economy is waiting for.

How will Mitt Romney address fairness with American workers whom he took advantage of them during Bain Capital and made a quick profit by slice and dice the companies he brought, and now he only pays 13.9 % tax rate from that wealth, when American workers pay 30-40 % tax rate? Will Mitt address fair share with American workers or he will call them envy of his 13.9% tax rate and Swiss Bank account?

Most Americans pay ~10% in taxes. Those who pay 30 + % make $350,000 a year. Besides income taxes, according to a story on this msnbc site, Romney paid ~16% of his income to charities, that's in addition to his taxes.

That 16% of Romney's income that goes to charity will be deducted from his taxable income, thereby reducing his tax rate.
Capital gains income is taxed at a reduced rate. This is to discourage investors from selling their stock every day, or every hour. Romney didn't write these rules, but he would be a fool to not take advantage of the rules. I do.
These facts are a real no-brainer for people who invest.
It depends on which Latinos you are talking to. If you are talking to those Latinos whose families came from Cuba, you will probably find them much in favor of Romney over Obama. These guys know exactly what socialism looks like. And, I can assure you, they don't want to see it here.

Mitt has secret bank accounts in countries that are imfamous for laundering money. Bain Capital is an example of what he'd do to Americas poor and middle class workers. Don't forget he favors the rich over everyone else and thinks corporations are people. Enough said! He's as anti-middle class as it gets!
And don't forget, he makes sure his sons do not have to ever have the title vet after their names.

I believe Mitt thinks all Americans are his brothers and sisters. He will be our greatest president since we became a nation. Remember, events shape the Presidency. Obama will take this election by a larger margin than 2008. The current standing prediction is 88%, with the GOP a very distant second at 8%, and the rest going to those parties and candidates we've never heard of anyways.
It's funny that Hispanics would side with either Republicans or Democrats since neither want to resolve the illegal immigration issue. Republicans want to keep the low cost labor and Democrats want to keep the issue alive so they can pander to the Hispanics and keep their votes.

Good point. Reform the system. Just as long as the reform secures the border, eliminates anchor babies, and deports ALL ilegal aliens immediately. After that is accomplished, we can discuss how we can make our legal immigration system more fair.

President Eisenhower deported all Illegal aliens right after WWII to free up jobs for returning servicemen and women.

Not everyone currently in ICE detention as an 'illegal' actually IS illegal, just like not everyone the police arrest actually ARE guilty. ICE has continued to hold people even AFTER a judge has said they proved they are citizens and should be released!

I don`t see the endorserments helping Newt much. I expect that if Romney gets the nomination, there will be a third party candidate. I prefer Obama, but time will tell. Don`t forget the down ballot races. Those are very important in their own right.
