Newt Gingrich leads Mitt Romney among Republicans, but he is the weakest of the Republican candidates tested against President Obama, according to an NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll released Thursday evening.
Gingrich leads Romney 37 percent to 28 percent nationally among registered Republicans likely to vote in the primaries; Rick Santorum is in third with 18 percent, and Ron Paul is fourth with 12 percent.
Gingrich has built its advantage by consolidating the heart and soul of the Republican Party: very conservative voters, the South and the Tea Party.
Though Gingrich is the preferred candidate of GOP primary voters, he performs the worst of all Republican candidates tested against Obama, including Santorum.
"Gingrich is Goldwater," said Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, who conducted the survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff. "In the general election, Gingrich not only takes down his ship, he takes down the whole flotilla."

The GOP race
Gingrich leads Romney in a four-way matchup, including Santorum and Paul, with “very conservatives” (47 percent to 17 percent), Tea Party supporters (46 percent to 21 percent), and in the South (45 percent to 21 percent). Those numbers gets even bigger in a two-way matchup. For example, in the South, one-on-one with Romney, Gingrich leads 65 percent to 28 percent.
Romney leads in the Northeast (38 percent to 32 percent), and is statistically tied with Gingrich in all other regions: in the Midwest (Gingrich leads 32-29 percent) and West (Gingrich 33-32 percent).
In December, the last time the poll was conducted, Gingrich also led (40 percent to 23 percent), but much has changed since then, including two fourth place finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire for Gingrich, and his decisive victory in South Carolina. The poll, conducted Sunday through Tuesday, went into the field the day after Gingrich’s victory there.
Gingrich is also viewed as the most electable candidate by GOP primary voters. He leads Romney 2-to-1 among those who picked electability as mattering most to them in a candidate. He holds a narrow lead, 46-44 percent, among those say views on issues matter most.
By a nine-point margin, Republicans said a candidate who “comes closest to your views on issues” is preferable to a candidate who has the best chance to beat President Obama.
Gingrich weakest against Obama
Romney fares best against the president, trailing Obama by six points among registered voters, 49 percent to 43 percent. That’s a four-point improvement for the president from a month ago.
Obama, however, beats Gingrich by a whopping 18 points, 55-37 percent, expanding the president’s 11-point lead a month ago.
Santorum also loses to Obama, but by a narrower margin, 53-38 percent, than Gingrich.
“More than his mojo, he’s getting back the middle of the electorate,” Hart said. But Hart warns, whether it’s the Republican race or the uptick in Obama’s ratings and standing, “I look at these results, and they have all the permanence of skywriting -- looks bold, but disappears in seconds.”
Obama, however, is still below 40 percent approval with white voters, and McInturff points out that number and the direction of the country still would indicate "The incumbent president is going to have a difficult re-election. Many of these are still problematic numbers -- as improved as they are."
Gingrich’s problems – women, independents, ‘personal standards’
Gingrich particularly struggles with women and independents. Women say they would vote for Obama over Gingrich by a wide 60-31 percent gap, far wider than the 54-38 percent difference by which Obama beats Romney.
With independents, Gingrich gets just 28 percent against Obama, who wins with 52 percent. By contrast, Obama narrowly edges Romney with independents, 44 percent to 36 percent.
Asked if the candidate has “high personal standards that set the proper tone for the country,” Romney gets a 67 percent positive score, Gingrich checks in at 32 percent.
Issues of character for Gingrich haven’t “been put to rest,” Hart said. “It may have been a great debate point last week, but there is still uncertainty among all voters.”
Challenges for Romney, too
Romney’s strength as a candidate is thought to be his business experience, as it relates to the economy. But GOP primary voters call it a “draw” between Gingrich and Romney when it comes to economic expertise, Hart said.
Sixty-one percent of GOP primary voters rate Romney's ability to deal with the economy positively, surpassed slightly by Gingrich, whom 63 percent of Republicans believe is well-equipped to handle the economy.
“If that’s the ace card for Romney,” Hart said, “it hasn’t materialized at the moment.”
Gingrich beats Romney on sharing your position on the issues by a wide margin, 56 percent to 43 percent.
But on the issue of whether Republican voters would be “comfortable” with Romney as their candidate, he gets a higher score than Gingrich – 75 percent say they would be comfortable with him versus 61 percent who say the same of Gingrich.
GOP brand problem
There’s also evidence in the poll of a Republican brand problem.
All of the GOP candidates are a net-negative in favorability ratings, with Santorum getting the best marks -- 26 percent positive, 27 percent negative.
Gingrich gets the worst -- 26-48.
Romney scores 31-36, and it’s worth noting that Bob Dole, John McCain, and George W. Bush were all net-positives at the same time in their fights for the nomination. The exception of a recent major party nominee being a net-negative at this point -- John Kerry, who was 22-26 in January 2004.
“Romney’s numbers are net-negative, which is unusual,” McInturff said.
Hart added, “It’s hard to make the case that anything but injury has come off the Republican brand off Congress and electorate.”
The congressional approval rating is near record lows of 13 percent, and more people say the GOP has brought the wrong kind of change (31 percent) in Congress than the right kind (12 percent). That represents a drop for the Republicans from a year ago, right after they took control of the House as a result of the sweeping 2010 elections. In January 2011, 25 percent thought Republicans would bring the right kind of change versus 20 percent who thought they would bring the wrong kind.
Those attitudes are also far worse than right after Democrats took control of the House in 2006 (42-15 percent) and Republicans regained a majority in 1994 (37-11 percent).
Additionally, Democrats lead in who people prefer to control Congress, the so-called congressional ballot, 47-41 percent. It’s the fourth consecutive month Democrats have led on the question and it has expanded from their two-point lead a month ago.
McInturff points out there is a “pretty significant gap” between the optimism primary voters -- 80 percent of whom believe a Republican will defeat President Obama -- and reality.
Republicans are “not going to win by simply being the option against the president,” McInturff said, adding, “The entire national environment isn’t going to do the entire job for the party.”
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post misreported the margin President Obama wins women against Newt Gingrich as 69-21. It is 60-31, as noted above.

Too funny!
Steve Schimdt (McCain's ex-campaign manager) said it best, I'm paraphrasing;
"If Newt wins FL - he would not be able to articulate the meltdown by the GNOP establishment'...
Keep in mind, the establishment could not get their voters in 2010 to walk the line, thanks in part to the tea party!
I'm still waiting for a Republican candidate to articulate some kind of comprehensive vision for the country's future beyond "gays are bad m'kay and we ain't killin' enough Arabs."
There is NO WAY we can vote for any of these Republicans because all they're going to do is make things as bad as they can on the American Workers.
All of the Republicans signed on to the pledge to steal our Social Security money, to remove the minimum wage so that we would be forced to work for even less money, and then give more tax cuts to the rich.
Republicans = Tax Cuts for the rich, pay cuts for American Workers !
Obama / Biden 2012
No Feisty, Barack Obama said it best, "I've now been in 57 states: I think one left to go."
Absolutely ANYONE in this nation that is running for a political office anywhere, probably knows that there are only 50 states in this nation. My 6 year old grandson knows there are 50 states, even when he's tired, since that was Obama's "excuse" for not knowing...oops, I mean getting the number wrong. And Obama not only gets wrong the number of states he's already visited wrong, but actually thinks there's even one more to visit.
And you've continued to support stupidity like that for over THREE years now. You just don't care do you? You are so full of hate that you don't even pay attention to what this idiot is doing to our nation, do you?
And you just continue to lick this man's shoes like the good little drone you are.
The best guy for the job is Ron Paul and these pukes keep "forgetting" to mention him. If he is so un-electable then say his name ans his views.
Where is the stats that scores him verses Obama?
Oh Brother - here we go!
I just got done identifying you to all as a tea baggin shill & what is your response?
The 4 year old 57 State, news for dumb fux talking point!
Give it up girlfriend, you are only making a bigger ass out of yourself then I previously thought!
Thanks for playing sweetheart - we have some LOVELY consolation gifts for ya! lol
I sure do... your point again is WHAT?
PS: Up next out of Cherly, will be either teleprompter, birth certificate, socialist, Kenyan, Reverand Wright.... etc... Did I miss anything?
Two things CherylLM
1) Maybe he was incorrectly including territories in that number.
2) Anyone actually basing their vote on that little thing is truly stupid. Go to Politifact and look up some of the Republican candidates and check out those pants on fire rated comments.
CherylLM?
It is clear that nothing our President does will ever be good enough to satisfy you. We need not go back very far to recall lines from the "W" like "is our children learning?".
Many of us support what you so casually call stupidity, and like it or not, you're going to have to bear it for a 2nd term. President Obama will be re-elected because the current crop of what passes for "Conservatives" offers NOTHING! No vision, no plan, just platitudes and condescention.
Actually, he didn't say "57 states." Google the video. He clearly says "fifty" then a second or two later "seven," as in "seven states left to visit" after an aide tells him the number. You can see him talking off the side of the stage/platform.
CherylLM... Obama is just not good with numbers - 57 states. How about the one where he promised unemployment would never get above 8% if we only gave him $1Trillion. He took $5Trillion (an easy mistake) and unemployment has never been BELOW 8%. Obama is just not a numbers guy.
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL- I Love<3 All Of Your Posts!!!!!
Brace yourselves liberal troops - I smell the collapse cowards on their way!
CherylLM,
Actually he was making a joke in that particular quote. (Notice how people laugh and he grins when saying that?) The fact that YOU can not decipher a sarcastic joke in conversations is more an indication of your SEVERE lack of intelligence.
Let me guess, next you will complain that President Obama cries when he spills milk, because you were not able to catch that joke during the State of the Union address.
I am constantly surprised that you willingly come to this forum and display your lack of intelligence for everyone here. At least you make the rest of us feel good about ourselves, knowing that we are not restricted to your level of critical thinking... or lack thereof.
RS-2107571 ... Here's the video ... 57 states with one left to go.

Watching some Hardball segments and is it just me or is Ron Christie a Log-Cabin Republican? Or is he just an Urkel? There is no mention of spouse or children on wikipedia.
Hey Feisty,
You're about the only one that's still following the Pied Piper!!
Only fools listen to this BS artist, who talks alot but doesn't accomplish anything.
He loves to delegate so he can wipe his hands clean of any bad decisions. The Non-Leader!!
Back to Chicago for training, perhaps the Cub Scouts need a beginner!!!
Give it a rest CherylLM. Everyone with half a brain knows it was a simple mis-speak during a hectic campaign. Like you've never done that. The fact that after all this time, people still want to bring up this nonsense tells a lot about them. He even acknowledged later that he mis-spoke to several reporters. Funny how this is always omitted when this incident is brought up. Of course he knows there are 50 states, of course he meant to say 47 instead of 57. Do you really and truly honestly believe that a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Harvard and a former United States Senator DOESN'T know there are 50 states??? Really??? And you say WE continue to support stupidity?? Geez. . .
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/57states.asp
The Republican Party has encased its feet in the Tea Party's cement shoes. Glub, glub, glub.
If you're a normal person this isn't exactly news ... but of course if you're a right-wing-wacko this is great Faux Noize Nootz ... wait .. errrr ...
The Reichwing has lost its collective mind.
Amazingly, Obama, a de facto Moderate Conservative, is viewed as a "Socialist" on the Right.
Terrifying.
Don't mind me folks...I'm just here to see what Feisty wrote, give her my vote and I'm gone...
Obama / Biden 2012
Grinspoon97,
So you also lack the intelligence and common sense to decipher a sarcastic joke in conversation. That's actually incredibly pathetic.
Is it any surprise that the Newt leads Mr. FLIP FLOP Rom-nut
Mitt Flip Flop Romney, the CORPERTE RAIDER and one time governor of Liberal Mass only now he is a conservative. Has supported Abortion, Gay Rights, Gun Control, Stem Cell Research and has reverse himself on all of these issues.
He took both sides on the financial bailout, the stimulus bill, the auto loan package;
His biggest Flip-Flop of all Health Care Reform The national Law is modeled on the one that he championed as governor in Mass that requires every citizen to have health insurance. Now he has Flipped-Flopped. Mr. Flop has taken a hard slide to the right pandering and boot licking to the tea party.
Mitt Flip-Flop Romney, a wishy-washy, flip flopping politician without any core convictions, principals or believes a man who will say or do anything to get elected telling one crowd one thing and another crowd another. You simply can’t trust this guy to tell you the truth.
If Flip-Flop were to get elected It would prove that Conservatism is dead as Flip-Flop would stab the Conservatives in the back and they know it.
At least with the Newt you know where he stands
Aww!
I ♥ YOU Cimarronrose!
You got my vote as well!
He's been a Washington insider all his life, pandering to lobbysts and big banks while collecting big dough on speaking and book signings. Never accomplished anything reasonable despite grandiosity; a thing Reagan noticed and wrote about in his memoirs....He's nothing but an erratic divisionist with a taste for Ménage à trois
I think you've made a perfectly reasonable case as to why it's more than obvious that it was a simple slip of the tongue. If your grandchild knows there are fifty states, what makes you think a constitutional-law professor who taught at the University of Chicago doesn't? Does that make any sense at all? You may not agree with his policies, but that doesn't mean you should belittle him in the most ridiculous ways you can come up with.
Never has he given us any real reason to think he was actually under the firm impression that there are 57 states. Bush said once, "[our enemies] never stop thinking about ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." Should I assume that he actually meant that the government never stops thinking about ways to harm us? No. Unless you hate him so badly that you want to think that's what he meant, it's pretty clear it isn't.
I always assumed he meant 47 states and one left to go, referring to the lower 48 contiguous states. Truth is all presidents make many many slips. I sincerely doubt that you believe, in your heart, that Obama actually believed there were 57+ states. You are just pretending to believe it, so you can also pretend to be superior. Really, we all know that you understand it was a mistake in one form or another. Please get some substantive points, there are many flaws to President Obama. Find a real one.
TO: someguy600 who wrote:
Ron Paul loses to Obama, but so do the rest of the Republicans. The Republican plan is NOT friendly to American Workers, just the opposite. We can't touch ANY of the Republicans you have running because if we touch them, we will get burned, AND they put it all in writing. It's called the Ryan Plan.
Under Republicans, working people won't even be able to see a doctor, or buy affordable health insurance.
Republicans are pandering ONLY to the rich with more and more tax cuts and tax breaks -- and for workers Republicans want to remove the minimum wage and make us work for even less money.

I will post again and hope the moderator of this vine actually reads my post. I find Feisty's avatar to be obscene, offensive and downright vulgar. The vine should not allow any poster to have such an avatar like this. Is she a paid MSNBC troll? If someone with a conservative view had an offensive, obscene and downright vulgar avatar, I am sure MSNBC would ban them forever. MSNBC, you should apply rules of conduct evenly and in a non-partisan manner -- shame on you!
as much as it's comforting to know what's inevitable, I wish NBC would be a little more careful with their wording. One thing we don't want to do is get comfortable thinking this is in the bag. WE STILL NEED EVERY VOTE IN NOVEMBER. We are in a war with those who want to turn back the clock. Taken that lightly could be a mistake.
CerylLM,
Do you ever listen to yourself?
There are many reasons why the President might have misspoke himself, one of them being the he might have been just plain tired at the moment and thinking of something else. But he definitely knew how many states there are. This is a man who lived in Indonesia (where have you lived outside the country, darling?), in Hawaii and called a couple of different states home for several years. Calling him stupid for making a mistake like that makes you look very, very stupid.
And then there's this little gem.
Who is full of hate? Sure sounds like the speaker of those words to me. In fact, there's lots in your little paragraph that indicate your contempt and hatred for the President (calling him an idiot, above) and those who support him.
Try seeing yourself as others see you, sweetheart. You might be in for a shock. You might just want to roll over and cry your cruel little heart out.
Very true, Tony. The only way to stop the destructive Tea Party and current GOP is to send them a very clear message in November. Everyone must vote, telling the GOP, in one voice, that we do not want to go back to the time of robber barons, we do not want their fascism and hate-based policies, and we will no longer let them destroy our country.
More proof of media bias against Ron Paul: the poll matches all of the candidates against Obama except for Ron Paul! They must not want the word to get out that when polls actually ask this question, he runs about even with Obama. Ron Paul 2012!
...and the Liberal media will pull for Newt as a means to protect their beloved Obama... to the comments above criticizing Republican views of the future, excuse me, a view of not burdening our children and grandchildren seems to me a view of an appropriate direction. Meanwhile we hear what from Obama? His State of the Union was dead on...it is deep in the crapper and so was his speech. He spwes ideals with no tactical reality. Smoke and mirrors...he can not lead post 2012 by ignoring Congress and issuing executive orders. If so America is done, dead, finished...
Come on - they all are rubbage...but at least some are trying to be responsible and make hard choices while others continue to try and buy votes and play the polls. We are doomed if we allow the country to stay on the current path. Change was needed and nothing was delivered...just more insider deals...
The GOP presidential candidates..... There's a list of contenders.... Whoah!!!!! Romney, Newt, Paul, Santorum, All in a circular firing squad. They are bringing out so much past trash on each other that they don't need any help from the left. Any worries about who is going to be our president for the four years should be mute. I know that the top dawgs in the republican party are in panic mode. These people are so desperate to get the potus position that they are destroying each others chances of ever being the man/president. It's fun sitting back watching them shoot each other in the face. The right should be upset with their contenders in the race than the left party members. The don't have to run any negative champagne adds.... They are doing just fine hanging their selves. It's a hoot to watch!!!!
hey raleigh dolly, I guess you don't believe in the first amendment, do you? And you don't see the avatars depicting the President as an early 20th century Negro caricature from your folks either, right? All's fair in love and war and if you haven't figured it out yet, we are at war with you evangelical nazi's who want to banish anything or anyone who doesn't subscribe to your views. Please, save your keystrokes and think of something of relevance to battle with Feisty,
Stoopid,
Agreed. I've always thought the same thing and have made that point myself a couple of times. What happened is he conflated visiting 47 of the lower 48 with 1 to go, with the fact that there are 50 states--and so he wound up saying 57. Thanks for making the point.
Keep drinking that kool-aid repubs. Democrats will ride your ego all the way to reelection.
Another "spin" by the liberal media.
P.T. Barnum was referring to liberal democrats when he made the statement "there's a fool born every minute."
You comment as much as you do on newvine articles and don't understand that MSNBC does not moderate the comments? Fox News uses a blog service called DISQUS while MSNBC uses newsvine. Might want inform yourself a little more before throwing around accusations.
Right Jeff. I have a great idea. Why don't you convince the RP people to run as an independent.
Prediction:
If any of the individuals listed below get elected as President, we will be at war with Iran/Persia within 16 months of the elections close. China has stated, (12/03/11), that if that happens they would gladly start WWIII.
Obama, Romney, Gingrich, Santorum.
(No rebuttal will be given. This is just a prediction from just keeping an eye toward the proverbial skies and instinct. I'll be watching as well.)
Dolly - I would suggest you go troll some right winger web sites - since I'm not going away anytime soon! ;o)
What's the matter - does it hit a little too close to home for ya?
PS: What kind of cheese would you like with your whine?
Re: post 1.29
Raleigh Dolly: I understand your point, and don't necessarily disagree with you. There was one where I did complain, an avatar with an elephant and a swaztika on it. I just hate elephants. But to be fair, this avatar is less offensive. It does not display any symbol or word which demonstrates racism, bigotry, prejudice, etc. Neither does it attack conservatives in particular, contrary to your belief. I say this because the referent, FOX News, is not partisan, remember. It is both fair and balanced. So Fiesty is really just making satire because she doesn't like either fairness, or balance, or both.
Unfortunately, if you believe that FOX News IS slanted to conservative views, then you are in the position of having to admit that they are not balanced and therefore falsely advertise; and further, that you watch it knowing it is one sided and accept it.
Ah Fiesty, I love your posts (not sarcasm).
Actually, Feisty's avatar is not entirely inaccurate.
Recently, I learned something new from Fox News. According to Fox News, requiring Republicans and Democrats to sit next to each other during the State of the Union is... and I quote Fox News... "basically date rape."
Yes, Fox News considers sitting next to a person with opposing political views equal to date rape... DATE RAPE.
So, raleigh dolly... the next time you meet a young woman who has gone through the horrors of a date rape, you can explain that you know exactly how she feels... because you once had to sit next to a Democrat.
And you can thank the smart, intelligent, moral folks at Fox News for showering us with their wisdom.
VOTE em ALL out, BOTH PARTIES! Time for America to belong to the people!
Tim,
No problemo - {{{hugs}}} & thanks for the kind words...
American Girl
I would suggest you do some research before you start with propaganda. Do you want to know why jobs have left this nation? It's because we live in something called a global economy now, and like it or not the so called evil corporate barons (you should look at the CEO of GE, he and his company has given more money then any other company in the US, and even though they posted a fifty million profit the first year of Obama reign of spending, he gave them over one hundred and fifty million in stimulus money. The jobs have left because we can not compete with China who pays their workers two to five dollars an hour compared with the forty a hour the unions were demanding here. In fact union workers in the general workforce outside of government is only at 17%, yet government workers put a stranglehold around us the taxpayers by demanding unreasonable wages, retirement funds that the states can not pay on, and now we have over half of the states in hot water, and California is one catastrophe away from Bankruptcy. The government spent us into a mess starting with the promises that Clinton gave, (he did not have to worry about the outcome because he has been out of office for just about 20 years now that his laws have come into effect. Fanny Mae and Fanny Mac, you might want to look at Clinton and one of the attorneys representing them (our president now), and the laws that were passed forced them into giving home loans to people who were extremely high risk. Bush did not help, but he had a war that he stupidly thought we could borrow our way through, and your beloved president is following right in his footsteps. So before you people yell too much about Bush, you might want to take a look at Obama's policies and you will see that they are just like one another.
In my humble opinion, both parties stink, they just smell bad differently. But if you and the rest of the followers of the great liar (he said, 'let's say I am African American' to bring out the vote, when in fact he is only one sixteenth African Negro, he is half white - which he seems to ignore - and the almost half Arab. He is really a White Arab with a little African Black blood in him), but then what can we do, he has spent millions having all his school records tied up so no one can see them, but is the first to yell at the opposition (or the so called party of no) if they do not follow him. Sadly as a person with minority blood, the democrats have fallen for his trap and called anyone who does not follow him or even question him racist, in the end they have destroyed the stigma of being called one, and it will be us the minority that one day will again pay for it because no one will care about being labelled a racist. So wake up, open you eyes, turn off all the news channels (and yes even fox) and do some research yourself, you might not like what you find!
So if you think a president that bows to Arab kings, turns his head on our allies, is trying to kill off all new jobs by even taxing higher for the people that pay over 70% of the taxes collected right now (and they only make up 3% of the population). What we need to do is to drop their taxes and encourage them to spend money bringing jobs back to this country. We need to put a surcharge on all products made overseas with a added tax on companies that do to encourage them to bring jobs back here, and make the price of goods comparable with goods produced here, and we need to forget about unreasonable demands on employers, we do not need unions, we have laws in place and should be constitutionalised to make them stay in place. And last we need to do away with the Federal reserve and bring back the dollar to gold standards. For all the time we had money tied to gold and silver inflation against the dollar was never more then 3%, now it is 80%, either we come to grips with reality or we will end up like Greece, and then we will see how you liberals will like this country then. And then seal the border, pass a constitutional amendment that a child born here of two guest workers or illegal immigrants will be citizens of the country they came from. And yes, I do not mind people coming over here to work, just tax them for the right in the same amount as SSI, because it is a privilege and not their right.
Gingrich, should he win the GOP, would be like William Jennings Bryan was for the Democrats during the Gilded Age...Bryan would have fiery oratory, but as one politico described him, like the Platte River, his mouth was "a mile wide, but only six inches deep." Like Bryan, Gingrich is aiming for the populist heart of the GOP, but with little substance behind it. And like Bryan, Gingrich will only get the Red States, "the South and the Desert".
The Republican Party is already in meltdown mode...they have already chased out all the moderates and voices of reason, and now they have their sights set on Romney. It will not surprise me that they will get hammered, and badly.
Grinspoon - Are you laughing because you can't do simple math? I must admit I laughed too when I saw your response!
Explain this one then? His father (either one of them) was old enough to serve in WWII? LOL
I am 1 month younger than President Obama and my father also fought in WWII. He was born in 1923 and enlisted in the horse cavalry when he was 15. I was born in 1961....for those of us with simple math skills, that means he was 38 when I was born....what is so difficult for your feeble mind to grasp?
Now I'm quite sure you will come back with some silly nonsense about the horse cavalry not existing during WWII so if you're better at reading comprehension than math, here's the link:
Ah...so implying that people who watch FoxNews are "Dumb Fux" is now freedom of speech? I think "dumb fux" like you are the reason that the whole "civility movement" is a joke. I think your entire ideology is built on hypocrisy and you cower behind blood-stained "freedoms" to toss your crass and idiotic venom.
So Mr. Gingrich gets $10, 000, 000. dollars from a wealthy Jewish Supremecist and arch supporter of the Israeli Nazis; and he promises to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem within the first twenty minutes of his imaginary Presidency.
The pair of them are invoking what is the worst stink in the politics of We the People. Foreign agendas, vastly disparate from the needs and legitimate interests of We the People buy OUR elected and would be elected leaders to bring THEIR agendas to fruition.
That is treason pure and simple even though it has become the norm rather than a criminal oddity.
Such treason is not the purview of either the Republican or the Democratic Party; it is the province of almost all of our elected officials who have come to work for the "special interests" who pay them with huge and open bribes to do THEIR bidding not OURS.
This must stop NOW; and We the People must begin to investigate, try, and punish the traitors on both sides of the equation in accordance with the damage they have done to US.
"news for dumb fux talking point!" --the Fbeliggerant Rcommunist
M ASS NBC, why is this person able to smear those who disagree with her as dumb f-u-c-k-s without being suspended for a day for each occurrence of this word? She/it uses this word in her avatar, no less, and it therefore appears in her every post, publicly identifying her/it as a foul-mouthed four-letter word-ing mother-fourlettering word!
Is it now acceptable to use the word "f-u-c-k" in these threads if one spells it in a different way? Or is it also acceptable to use "f-u-c-k" when it is spelled correctly as well?
So if one were to say that the Feisty Red lowlife creature were f-u-c-k-ing the discourse of the country with her f-u-c-k-ing dirty mouthed dumb as f-u-c-k attitude which screeches "f-u-c-k civility" to the rest of us, that would be okay with you, too? We're all now free to call one another "dumb f-u-c-k-s"? How about "motherf-u-c-k-er"? Can we use that one, too? And if we can smear a whole group of people as "dumb f-u-c-k-s" can we also more correctly say that these people are "f-u-c-k-ing stupid as f-u-c-k people" or that they are "speechless f-u-c-k-ing people"?
Why does one person get suspended for saying that a certain kind of person is a "dumb ass" when this abusive person can routinely get away with saying that a certain kind of person is a "dumb f-u-c-k"? Is the former term somehow worse than the latter one? In which county of which state?
Or is only a certified communist shill for the leftist press able to use the word "f-u-c-k" on your website and get away with it?
I would not ordinarily for an instant even consider using that word in print, but in this case, in order to ask this vital and necessary question, there is no avoiding it. Either this is or this is not acceptable behavior, and I'm forcing the issue here the only way I know how.
I want an answer. So do the rest of the people using this forum. We'll be waiting for it. With no expectation that anything but wicked hypocrisy will be forthcoming from a leftist revisionist press like M ASS NBC.
Which is it? Are you going to suspend this Feisty (belligerent) Redhead (bloody communist) for using the word "f-u-c-k" and calling a whole group of people "dumb f-u-c-k-s" or are you going to stop suspending everyone else who uses the word "f-u-c-k" and stoops to personal attacks against whole groups of people?
Gingrich is working for Obama and doesn't even realize it. But the only things Gingrich has ever realized are his own ambitions, and has no regard for the swathe of destruction he leaves behind.
I agree. Feisty derails discussion here on MSNBC, and she bypasses word filters in doing so. However, there are people like this on every internet forum, so I don't know why you are blaming NBC.
It should not be. Word filters are there for a reason, and they should not be allowed to be bypassed.
OK you have made your point.
Poor correlation, which does not equal causation.
Her being communist is irrelevant. Nobody here should be allowed to bypass the word filter. I have seen Republicans here try to bypass it as well, however.
some guy wrote:
If you think that Ron Paul can beat Barack Obama, you must not only live in Texas' 14th, you must never have left in your life.
Pretty clear that REAL Republicans are NoT endorsing fringe politics ...
Gingrich is searching for a crater to mine - but - eventually will just create his own ...
Romney is showing us how much it costs to be 'acceptable' to Republicans ...
According to Republicans, TransCanada would be a bigger job creator than Mitt Romney ...
It is NoT the Republican's fault they can't create jobs - China won't let them ...
Mainstream Republicans are proud they know there are 50 states - smarter than a fourth grader ...
Biggest Republican accomplishment is having a birth certificate - taking credit for someone else's labor ...
The Anybody But Obama crowd are still searching for Mr. Anybody ...
Since Republicans obviously can't win - vote everyone else out - the Jim Jones option ...
Romney/Gingrich/Santorum/Paul
Or, as I like to call them, The Committee to Re-elect Barack Obama!
p.s. MSNBC–Really? Your spell-checker doesn't recognize the sitting president's first name? Really?
@1.60 -- Good one, they are indeed The Committee to Re-Elect President Obama. Whichever one of those clowns gets the GOP nomination, he's this cycle's throwaway candiate, since none of them stand a chance of beating Obama.
TBenton
the whole truth is this equasion
Cost of materials + raw labor + labor benefits + energy + regulation compliance + Physical Properties + taxes + Transportation + Administration + Research/developement + profit = Price.
simplified to the Reality
Raw labor difference + Benefits difference + Energy difference + Regulation compliance difference + tax difference + profit must be less than or equal to the transportation difference.
Any one or combinations of the 6 key differences can cause a business to move overseas.
GE moved all it's CFL production to China - the deciding factor was labor because CFL's Require twice the labor. Anything involving coal or safety cost too large cause industries to move because regulations are minimal outside the US. Edenpure brought their production back to the US - the deciding factors accepting a lower profit made possible by huge tax breaks combined with anticipation of increasing transportation costs of products from China. BTW most corporations except a lower profit in the US. when the profits become losses regardless of the cause a move is required or they just close the doors.
Hey Spiddas:
Maybe your right. Maybe its time to just call it quits and start WWIII. But keep nukes out. We fight like men, mono y mono. I bet America could kick China's ass without nukes: take our subs and bombers and blow up Beijing and Hong Kong. Launch conventional weapons to destroy all Chinese nuclear power plants and use special forces teams to sabotage the electric grid and eliminate China's generalship. Hopefully we could do that without killing many Americans. We have the most expensive army in the world: we might as well see if we really can kick the world's ass.
youre an idiot--- destroy their nuclear plants and you condemn the whole world to die from radiation poisoning moron!!!!!
@DB Akron -- You left out another very, very large reason. It is cheaper to manufacture in China and sell in China. There are potentially 10 times (or more) consumers in the Asian - Indian markets than in the United States.
The big manufacturers were stuck with big factories and big workforces that produced goods for export. If manufacturing is not going to export - it does not need big factories and big workforces. Since the China market is so big (compared to the US) - the added cost of shipping goods to the US market was offset by the 'free enterprise' politicians subsidizing the move to China.
So your equation becomes
Cost of materials + raw labor + labor benefits + energy + regulation compliance + Physical Properties + taxes + Transportation + Administration + Research/developement + profit - TAX BREAKS = Price.
Those tax breaks were lobbied in place by 'free enterprise' business people. The offshoring and outsourcing of American jobs is NOT the result of capitalism. 'Free enterprise' - 'free market' - economics killed manufacturing in the United States.
The financial wizards thought that American business would introduce inflation into the Asian markets - like they did in the US - and the financial wizards could skim extra off the top. 'Free enterprise' only succeeds by redistributing new wealth using profit models ...
So, we all agree that feisty is a dumbfux!!
Freshieee:
Four words: Washington's Vision - Third Peril
"there is a “pretty significant gap” between the optimism primary voters -- 80 percent of whom believe a Republican will defeat President Obama -- and reality."
I believe that's the first time in the 21st century where I've seen the words "Republican" and "reality" used in the same sentence, and the sentence actually makes sense.
Newt Gingrich supporters, do you think the United States is a Christian nation? Do you think a candidate needs to be religious to have political office? Do you think the income tax on the poor should be increased, while the income tax for the top is either reduced or outright eliminated? Do you think Palestineans are not a people? Do you think Reaganomics works? Do you think a candidate who says yes to all of these questions can beat President Obama? Why?
Last I checked Ron Paul fared just as well against Obama as Romney; still no mention. Its as if he is being iced over the last few weeks; no coverage whatsoever by the big corporate news. Oh well, more proof the GOP apparently prefers Obama over Paul and another reason to believe we're under a Republicrat dictatorship.
Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”
The opening lines of that prayer, which Obama recited with a first-rate Arabic accent, are translated to English as:
Obama bowing before his Islamic master, the King of Saudi Arabia.
He grew up with his Father a Muslim, his step-father a Muslim, and when he lived in Indonesia he attended a Muslim academy where he was told that being Muslim is not a choice, and not something you can walk away from. He was also told you can pretend to be an infidel in order to advance from within to further the will of Allah.
Barack Obama has denied that we are a Christian nation and even demanded the Christian symbol “IHS” be covered when he spoke at Georgetown University. However, Obama has been using taxpayer dollars to build and refurbish mosques. These are mosques that may be used to recruit and train terrorists.
The Obama Administration is also facilitating the building of the Ground Zero Mosque in Manhattan. The mastermind of this project is on Obama’s payroll and is being sent to the Middle East with our tax dollars. It appears we are paying for Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to raise funds for the construction of the Ground Zero Mosque?
The mosques being rebuilt by the United States are used for religious worship, which raises important First Amendment questions. U.S. taxpayer money should not be used to preserve and promote Islam, even abroad.
Eric Holder : Black Panther Case Demeans My People
Attorney General Eric Holder finally got fed up Tuesday with claims that the Justice Department went easy in a voting rights case against members of the New Black Panther Party because they are African American.
Holder's frustration over the criticism became evident during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing as Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas) accused the Justice Department of failing to cooperate with a Civil Rights Commission investigation into the handling of the 2008 incident in which Black Panthers in intimidating outfits and wielding a club stood outside a polling place in Philadelphia.
The Attorney General seemed to take personal offense at a comment Culberson read in which former Democratic activist Bartle Bull called the incident the most serious act of voter intimidation he had witnessed in his career.
A Justice Department prosecutor defied his superiors by testifying at a U.S. Civil Rights Commission hearing, where he leveled an explosive allegation: top officials in the department gutted a voter intimidation case against a fringe African American militant group because the suspects were black and their alleged victims were white.
The prosecutor, Christopher Coates, also said the downgrading of the case against the New Black Panther Party was evidence of a Justice Department culture which discouraged “race neutral” enforcement of civil rights laws, frowned on prosecuting minority perpetrators and folded under pressure from black and Latino rights groups. After President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder took office, the culture intensified, Coates told the panel, ultimately leading to his departure as chief of the voting rights section early this year.
They have not pursued the goal of equal protection of the law for all people,” he said.

FACTS:
Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (Obama’s father) Born: 4/4/36 Died: 11/24/82 at the age of 46. He was 5 years old when WW II started, and less than 9 1/2 yrs old when it ended.
Lolo Soetoro (Obama’s step father) Born: 1935 Died: 3/2/87 at the age of 52. He was 6 years old when WW II started, and 10 years old when it ended.
Regardless of who wins the republican primaries, if the winner doesn't beat Obama, America is done, fried, roasted, then thrown into the coals to burn. And when all of that is done, the weird will still blame Bush even though Obama is Bush on steroids, bad steroids.
It is really clear that the vast majority of people in the Republican Party are idiots. Newt Gingrich is not a conservative and has no chance to win against Obama. Yet, these so called Tea Party people , these so called conservatives that claim to want small government but apparently don't mind hundreds of billions for a freaking MOON BASE and three new wars. Morons the whole lot.
Obama before Newt
Bottom line, even if Obama wins, he will be a lame duck. All of congress will be controlled by the republicans next election. Then, the best he will be able to do is veto all legislation and bring the government to a halt. Win-win.
@# 1.72 Obama was talking about his grandfather who raised him when he came back to live with his grandparents in Honolulu Hawaii. I feel so sorry for people like you. There is a sense that you are so pathetic that you will just grasp at anything to try and liable the POTUS. 57 STATES? TELEPROMPTERS ? what f'ing silliness! people are struggling, kids are suffering and that is the best you got? The best by far is the birth certificate and how people are lying and one idiot threw his whole career away because he got caught up in the web of lies.
I guess I'd be more concerned with what folks have to say, and far less inclined to get all TeaAnal about specific avatars. As Karl Rove once blathered: "As people start to do better, they tend to vote Republican, unless that have too much education, in which case they vote Democrat." Dumb Fux!
CherylLM
I doubt very seriously that your 6year grandson knows how many states there are, like you all say, our education system is in the toilet and all.
The best news is, Republican true believers have choices!
1) Continuation of the failed policies of Supply Side Economics (never mind, that's all of them)
1a) The failed politics of division and personal destruction.
2) The failed politics of bowing down to the wealthy elites.
3) The failed ideas of the John Birch Society.
4) The failed ideals of the Cultural Revolution, with its theocratic basis, authoritarian ideals, and hateful bigotry.
Never mind, now that I read it that's actually the worst news.
It's time to stop with all the slanderous assertions that cannot be proved against the president...those who continue on with these ridiculous claims should be ashamed of themselves. If you have nothing negative on him, that should tell you something. Why make stuff up? Whatever state you live in, live in a state of reality.
The fundamental choice in the election in November: Barack Obama, who works for the middle class; or the Republican challenger, who is bought and paid for by the rich and the corporations.
This country belongs to the people, not the corporations.
We all have a vote.
I encourage Americans to use it, and use it wisely.
Can you please site your source for this, Wolf?
Whether Obama actually said that or not is irrelevant to his religious beliefs.
I've heard the Muslim call to prayer in seven different countries. Sometimes it sounded abrasive, and sometimes it was indeed hauntingly beautiful.
One of my favorite pieces of ear candy is the aria "O mio babbino caro" from Puccini's opera Gianni Schicchi. Listen to it, and then go read the translation of the lyrics.
The old 'Obama is a Muslim' thing is a pathetic attempt to mislead and misinform. Hasn't that been done to death already?
Of course, NBC/WSJ only polls left wing libs who live up the East Coast or in California, so this isn't surprising. Keep up your BS, nBC, keep working hard with your propaganda.
Bob, my suggestion is that you start packing for your move to Canada. Buh-bye!!
LMAO ... the teabagging Greedy Old Party SUCKS ... HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wolf53 thank you Sir, I am so happy to see your post. Could not believe how many of these posting, can still suport Obumbler. I guess they believe that line he gave them about AMERICA IS BACK! Yea, Just ignore all of those closed buisnesses, And be proud they ushered in record high poverty levels, and the longest sustained high unemployment levels. Whats not to admire abot their food stamp President
Were I to write News for Dumb FUX, I would be banned, thus I see Feisty Redhead Roselle as a has to be an MSNBC employee, thus MSNBC is clearly guilty of using inflamatory language defaming a large percentage of America with that avatar.
Just to put a little insight into things. It took the beginning of world war 2, to get us out of the Great Depression. 12 years after the collapse. It has only been 3 years since the next greatest depression and you think everyone should have a job by now. All in the face of a President who from day 1 was met with an opposition party who's sole(soul) goal was to make him a 1 term President.Let's try and be reasonable.if nothing else.
The Teapublican field is so weak, a brokered convention is a possibility. There wasn't a lot of enthusiasm for McCain last time around, but at least the base could get behind him...until Palin was vetted and the economy crashed and burned. But this time? I suppose Romney could improve his chances with a good VP pick, assuming there is one. Because who else could/would save the day if there was a brokered convention?
The entire GOP/TP Party sucks, and it sucks because it has gone way too far to the right (off a cliff) as to have NO credibility--maybe they could secede and move to the moon--ha! This election, with struggles due to the Great Recession and thanks to the GOP/TP, will finally bring to the forefront the true, real choice to:
Vote for a crappy Teapublican who will protect the richest 1% and corporate welfare by cutting programs for seniors, college students, etc. and raise taxes on the middle class, with the vision of every man, woman, and child for his/herself. Not to mention he would probably start a new war with Iran and other wars.
OR
Reelect President Obama and give him a Democratic majority in congress to preserve the middle class with fair taxation and protection of successful programs like Social Security. With a bottom-up strategy (not "trickle-down") that strengthens the working class, everyone would do better including the rich and businesses -- Along with unification, and representation of ALL citizens.
Throw the Teapublicans out. Obama/Biden - 2012!

Here is Obama reciting the Shahada in public on the record.
Barack Hussein Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth."
In an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times, Obama recited the Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent."
The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:
"Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet... "
According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim's complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam.
Obama knows this from his Quranic studies -- and he knows the New York Times will publish this fact and it will be seen throughout the Islamic world.
Regardless of Obama's religion, what message is he sending the world's 1.2 billion Muslims?
I suppose it's easy for Obama to remember the Shahada for the 35 years since he left Indonesia -- and in 'first-class' Arabic -- especially since he believes the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth."
The fact that Obama can recall the Shahada after 35 years and the fact that he believes that the daily call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth" say that those Muslim prayers run through his head often -- what does that make him?
New York Times source
Really? What's your proof that NBC/WSJ polls aren't statistically valid?
It is amazing how many people, including the very wealthy, forget that the key to our prosperity is a vigorous and HUGE middle class. An Apple executive was recently quoted that it wasn't that company's responsibility to solve America's problems, which is true up to a point. However, Apple isn't making billions of dollars a year by selling iPhones, iPads and Macs only to the "1%". It needs a prosperous middle class. A rising tide really does float all boats.
I couldn't have said it better, Barry. The middle class is the key to the American economic miracle. Thanks to 3 decades of Conservative dominance in economic policy the middle class is sick, and so the American economy is sick.
Conservatives are fond of saying that there aren't enough rich to pay all the taxes needed in this country, and it's true that increased taxes on the wealthy is only part of the solution. The Right deliberately and disingenuously ignores an important point when they make this argument, however...if there aren't enough 1%'ers to support the national budget there CERTAINLY aren't enough of them to support the entire economy...even though the GOPTP claims otherwise.
Wolf53, religious bigotry is hardly the ticket to enlightenment
Everyone, NOTHING Wolf said was true. Before you even reply to him, make sure he actually is arguing something.
Wait hold on. If I'm getting this right, Wolf is copy/pasting from conservapedia. Who are the four people who upvoted him?
its a newtonian announcement of gingrichian ramifications!!!!!!!

"A NBC poll that says Obama is ahead. What a stunner!!"
Hey Cheryl --- it's NOT just NBC showing President Obama kicking Newt all over the place, even FOX NOISE has President Obama beating Newt by 14 points.
What is really sad is the media is scared stiff to open up on Obama, as they will be called racists. Okay, say Obama gets re-elected have you heard of or read about HR-4646? This is has been put forth by Rep. Chaka Fattah ( D-PA). It imposes a 1 per cent tax on all bank transactions. In addition, US. Rep. Peter deFazio ( D-Oregon ) and US Senator Tom Harkin ( D-Iowa ) are also involved in getting this through the passing process. If you have a direct deposit of your paycheck, Obama gets 1 percent of it, transfer money from savings to checking Obama gets 1 percent, refund on your taxes take the check to the bank for deposit Obama gets 1 percent, if you think this is pocket change take out all of your last years bank statements and total up all of your transactions then subtract 1 percent. You really want this guy Obama around for another 4 years. Its labeled a Sneaky Tax. Go to snopes.com search Debt Free America. But then don't take my word, re-elect him then hide in the bushes and watch. By the way, they talk about the tax loop holes for the wealthy, why hasn't Obama closed them?? Why because he needs corporate and big business money from the wealthy for his re-election. Tax the wealthy, right, all they do is the next morning raise the prices on their products as they own the business. So taxing the wealthy what have you gained? Total cereal is now $5.50 a box. Why, simple the teamsters will want an increase in trucking because the cereal manufacturers are making more money. Its a never ending cycle.
Obama never supported that bill, Sam Houston. I also think you are making misleading statements regarding the bill in question.
Sam,
Most of that is BS.
It is the pet project of one representative in the house who wants to replaces all federal taxes, and income taxes with a transaction tax. It has no supporters, or sponsers, not Harkin, not DeFazio or Obama. I went to www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/debtfree.asp and it contradicted about everything you said
Frankly, there just isn't anything there for the media to "open up on". No scandal, no corruption, no cronyism, and full-blown competence everywhere you look. Guess you ought to try again, Sam - yer makin' yerself look a might goofy there, bubba... Nice TeaFabrications, though!
Ener1 a parent company of an electric car battery maker that received a $118 million grant from the Obama administration filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Thursday.
Another 118 million to add to Obamas' failed green energy plains. This is third company to declare bankruptcy. He will have dumped billions down the drain before it is all said and done on his green energy alone.

Wow! A NBC poll that says Obama is ahead. What a stunner!!
I'd just never expect the Obama propoganda center...ooops, I mean MSNBC to ever be swayed to the left.
Especially when you consider that 90% of their news stories about Obama are positive and 80% of their stories about ANY Republican are negative.
I definitely believe just EVERYTHING that MSNBC says. They have such high "journalistic" standards.
I think the comparison polls (Dem/Rep) do not carry much water until a final Republican candidate is selected. Then the positions of two opposing platforms will be a little more clear - then polls matter. Actually, after a debate or two, the polls will be very telling.
WOW!
Once again, Cheryl in her haste, didn't bother to read prior to spreading her hate...
Honey - take a deep breath and re-read where it says; NBC/WSJ poll
The WSJ stands for Wall Street Journal... you know the paper that owned by Rupert Murdoch?
Cheryl--First, this is an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The WSJ is not exactly pro-Obama. Second, this poll mirrors what other polls have found: Obama beats Gingrich handily. See http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html.
CherylLM..you are absolutely right. Newt is going to do fantastic against Obama. He'll crush him!
So...make certain you vote for him in the primaries. Please. There's no better candidate the GOP has to run against Obama than Gingrich, polls be damned.
Signed,
A Democrat for Obama
If you want to continue to live a "decent life", go ahead please, vote for Gringrich, for he is sure to lose. John
As opposed to "Fair and Balanced" Faux News?
It must just kill you that Obama will be re-elected this year...
I vote Cheryl to be the dunce of the class! LOL Not very bright.
Give it up Feisty ... too many multi-syllable words for Cheryl to comprehend.
Cheryl, I guess you missed the Wall Street Journal portion of the poll. Because we know a Murdoch mouthpiece created a poll designed to make Newt look bad! LOL.
Tired Old Guy,
What WAS I thinking?
I'm convinced Cheryl is Leona's twin sister...
*popcorn*?
We can take up a collection and buy Cheryl some good education books.
Uh..........this poll was backed by NBC/WSJ Wall Street Journal, right wing, Rupert Merdoch.....seems like you better pay attention.
Feisty ... speak v e r y s l o w l y for her. And yeah, with lots of butter and salt, I've already had a pretty full life.
Thats why we have Fox News...for people like you.
The poll was conducted by a Democrat and a Republican and by the Wall Street Journal. Seems fair.
Why bother?
You can't absorb the information by chewing on them! ;o)
You are my kind of guy! ;o)
Which is the reason why I chose this photo for my avatar! lol
I find Fox and MSNBC to be biased. Yet Fox does show Obama approval rating at 45%. I'm a Republican and will not vote for Gingrich. Romney has a chance against Obama by what Fox says.
Is Newt on President Obama's reelection committee???
Matt - and you actually believe fox?
Wow the Obama news forum is talking about the 1000 member Tea Party. That bunch of bible thumping, gun packing rednecks. Did that little bunch of nobodys shake you obamabots up in Nov. 2010. And now this socialist news tabloid thinks they have a clue what we Tea Party members think. Its the last week of the month don't you freeloaders have foodstamp business to take care. I hear the greatest foodstamp President ever is out west peddling. You better get in line Jan Brewer's whipping boy may give yours to your cousins from south of the border. LMFAO. Hey Fiesty I bet your a regional distributor of foodstamps with all your socialist clout. popcorn ):
Newt - Pandering to the space cadets and gubmint haters says he'll have colonies on the moon in eight years if he's president. Newt where're you going to get the funds? And why colonies on the moon? To better fight the Soviets like his hero Raygun. Please save us from the return of the old ways that got here in the first place. The nut jobs on the wrong errr right.
CheryILM I have three pionts I would like to ask you sir: You are saying that MSNBC, is one sided come on look at FOX news, they are all about the Republican party they can't do any thing wrong. I do not see one Republican that can, or will beat PERSIDENT O`BAMA. I would like to know since when is it ok to call the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA by his frist name like O`BAMA. I do not remamber this ever hearing some ONE talk about President Cart, President Reagun,President Bush or ,President cliton. tHAY WAY IS WAS ALLWAS President.-------. WHY NOW IN 2012 IS IT OK TO DO THIS I ASK YOU SIR.
Bob Jones,
Don't worry, we are all well aware of what you evil Tea Party members are thinking. First, you are thinking about how much you hate gays... and you really, REALLY hate them. Then you are thinking about different ways to call Obama a socialist, even though not a single one of you are smart enough to understand the real definition of "socialism". Throw in a couple thoughts about how much you hate Muslims and immigrants. Start thinking about how much you hate the poor, and wish they would die. And finally, you are thinking of ways to INCREASE the size of government by putting MORE government in our bedrooms, MORE government in our bodies, MORE government in marriage, MORE government in television and radio airways, MORE government in religion, and overall just MORE government in our personal lives. Oh... then you think about hating gays even more, because the first round was not enough.
That pretty much sums it up.
Faux News
Well lets go over there RAP SHEET
FOX News =
Illegal phone hacking
Criminal Arrests
Police Bribery
Hush Money
Lying before the British Parliament
Resignations
Bob Jones, your inane hyperbole fits right in with what we know you Tea Folk think. You are a walking talking stereotype.
Oh lordy lordy, bob jones....your name says it all. No subtlety there!
Boob Jones University - check the facts about food stamps yer Dubya was passing them at good clip and there was no recession then. So you go back to your tired and tried ways that don't work and leave the thinking to people who can put together a thought without being lead by Fraud News. Have nice day!
Bob Jones is CherylLM's husband. Or if not, he should be. They would make a perfect couple.
Wow, reading these posts it is obvious what is wrong with this Country. I thought Liberals were the party of compassion? wtf? Are you all just bored and leading empty lives. Same people here day after day spewing hatred. Feeling so powerful with your witty commentaries and skillful cut and paste talents all while sitting on your butts in front of a computer for hours on end. Have some respect for yourselves and use all that energy to go out in the world and make a bit of a difference.
I hope all liberals keep believing the lies and these so-far meaningless polls until election day when they will get to welcome a new president.
Let's look at the polls AFTER the candidates are selected and see IF Obama will dare debate without a teleprompter. I'm guessing he will refuse the Lincoln-Douglas style debate.
What is important about polls is the how a question is asked and what how well their sampling is truely representational of the cross section of people who will vote. From the three primaries run, PPP and Rasmussen seem to be closest to the results for each state.
A couple of notes on the NBC/WSJ poll. This is a RV (Registered Voters). This is what would happen if that group shows up at the polling place. What is more important is the LV (Likely Voters) These say who are going to vote. This is why Obama appears like he will crush any Republican, when in the LV shows the him with a much smaller lead and often trailing one or more Republican.
@ Dr Larry
Um, "doc", NO ONE USES TELEPROMPTERS during debates.
Have you ever WATCHED a debate. Teleprompters are never used -- though "duh-bya" was suspected of "wearing a wire" during his debates with Kerry.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/12/bush_wireless_coaching/
So maybe you should rethink -- or just try to think for the first time -- that whole "teleprompter" meme your party keeps spouting. Since teleprompters were invented in the 1950s, ALL Presidents have used them.
(@!$%#, even Johnny Carson used them near the end of his TV run.)
So you think the lies come from the liberal side?
Reality check: Republicans can't find any dirt on Obama so they make up lies about him.
Remember the Birthers? People who are that stupid and gullible should not be allowed to vote.
...and please tell me, how does anyone use a teleprompter in a debate?
GING - GRINCH IS A SERIAL HIPOCRIT ; and nobody cares for a man that trashes his wife ,knowing she's already battling against cancer. he is a self made monster. NOW IF SHE HAD A MOUTH AS BIG AS THE GRAND CANYON, '' LIKE THE WOMAN GOVERNOR OF ARIZONA '' YOU COULDN'T FAULT HIM. BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE
It appears that majority of Republicans would rather be right--far, far right--than President.
Proof that the republican base is far removed from Independents who decide elections. Hey, if they really want Newt, who are we to argue.
And that's a good thing Old Vet, because the Republican plan has got nothing in it but bad news for those of us who have to work for a living.
Obama / Biden 2012
Chucky
Not really, in polling data, the majority of Independents are voting for republicans in actual elections.
Independents are hard to define. They really are not necessarily in the Middle. Libertarians get put into the independent label, but they are far to the Right of Republicans fiscally and far to the left of Democrats Socially and militarily. That is really the hallmark of Independents, they are a mix of conservative values and Liberal type values - switch their vote depending upon what set of values is most important to them at this time.
I'm good with that. :)
So am I. In fact I believe the only thing that will make our deeply sick political process well again is for Republicans to be defeated so thoroughly that it forces them to discard their strategy of pandering to the craziest of radical fringes as they do at present. Only then can the party once again by dominated by the "center Right" that talk radio is always yammering about.
Okay, go burn your bra and adjust your balls.
Yes, I freely admit I am against men acting like pigs with women and everything else. I am man enough to admit it and also man enough to kick some a$$. Deal with it!!
NewtISaPIG, even the Republicans don't like Newt, and I don't think Republicans have enough hate speech to force the old jobs cremator Mitt Romney, on us.
Obama / Biden 2012
Newt is so terrible and disgusting he would probably stoop so low as to get a BJ in the same house he sleeps with his wife in. Oh wait that was was "Slick Willie" wasn't it. LMFAO. But that wasn't, what is was, was it. ROTFLMFA. You moonbats and your so called POTUS are a hoot. And wtf that BJ getters wife is the woman the current socialist leader trashed four years ago right, oh but she is stepping down to rest.
Boob Jones University- one word for you HYPOCRITE ! Have a nice day and take your meds.
Troll Jones
According to Mrs. Gingrich #2, Mr. Gingrich was not only "gettingg a BJ in the same house he sleeps with his wife in," from the future Mrs. Gingrich #3, he was getting them, and a whole lot more, in the very bed they shared. Now THAT'S a class act.
Say, Bob Jones, You may not have noticed but Bill Clinton isn't running for anything. However, the geek that was trying to run him out of office was, at the same time, screwing another woman in an adulterous relationship. Then he went to church, confessed his sins, was absolved, and went back to screw her again. Absolution only works if you are truly repentant and don't repeat the sin.
Face it....NBC favors Mitt Romney and not Gingrich thats why at the debate Brian Williams played the puppet to tell the audience they were being censored. NBC was censoring their freedom of speech, NBC was eliminating the applause and support for all candidates so no one got the edge. The reality is Gingrich can get the wheels rolling and the sudience leans right into it and it makes Romney look cold and distant.
Polls dont mean crap....Romney wont get down to the nitty gritty with Obama, Gingrich is the only one that can.
Hope not Hate
Progress not Regress
Gingrich represents Hate and Regress imho
Hold that Thought: No one censored anyone. Rules were developed and approved by the various campaigns. Oh, forgot, Rebags only think rules are for others.
By the way, there is no freedom of speech assured to anyone except towards the government by the people. The network is perfectly in their rights to limit as they see fit in their facility, on their network. Have you read the constitution?
I agree, Newt is going to smoke The Prez in the debates, Romney will just smile and say something with no punch. And as far as Newt and women, don't get me started with the Kenndy's and Clintons. Don't care where he puts it as long as it's not in me.
So during the Presidential debates of 2008 when no applauding was allowed that played into whose hands? That great orator Cain? No chance or clue of logic from the voices on the wrong err right. Newt knew the rules before the debate stop your whining.
Newt won't even COME close to smoking President Obama in the debates. He will however show us his angry and "it has to be my way" only mode. At any rate, please give GingRICH the nomination, I want to watch Obama crush him in the election
Hold that thought...um...want to re-read the article? Wall Street Journal ring any bells?...(hint...it's owned by Murdoch...). So you only believe propaganda--that "news" that is bottled and sugared for your delicate sensibilities so as not to upset your delusions....geez...no wonder you're a Gingrich supporter.
I love all the liberals that like to trash Murdoch for owning Fox News but seem to love the poll from the WSJ! You won't like the polls from any service in October and November!
It is so funny you moonbats are crapping your pants because you're so afraid that Newt will win the nomination, LMFAO. Obamalamadingdong is gettin a butt whippin either way its just Newt will leave scars where Romney will only leave brusies. I just love it whem you moonbat males feel threatened and hide behind your big ole women Bwaaaaahaahaahaa! "popcorn"
Keep thinking that, BJ, keep thinking that.
Back in a world where the sky is blue the Insane Clown Posse known otherwise as the Republican Presidential field is the best present you could give the Left.
Too funny.... Mittens is peeing in his pants now, Newt's egomaniacal blinders are making him even more clueless, and the GOP is imploding. Wall Street Money had better get its act together and try to salvage the situation...
Hello Feisty!
As usual, your post is spot on, and yes, if Newt wins the nomination, I do expect to see conservative heads exploding all over.
Newt hits all the key talking points. He's turned it into a science of playing on the emotions and fear in people. He is a master manipulator!
Tragically he actually believes he will be elected, and I would seriously recommend a mental evaluation for the man.
Where's the popcorn? It's going to be an interesting next few weeks!
And HELLO to Mr. Feisty!
Hey JT!
Nice to see you out & about this evening!
Let the GNOP get a taste of trying to herd cats for a change instead of us Dem's! ;o)
My bad! Coming right up! How do you like it?
Will do! ;o)
Fiesty
All of this proves a point I've been trying to make. The Conservatives are more then welcome to nominate Newt if that's what they really want. They just better not expect the rest of America to vote for him. An awful lot of us were unfortunate enough to watch this hateful, vindictive little troll when he was doing his best to destroy President Clinton. I'm just astounded that he has gotten as far as he has. I do believe the GOP/tp has lost it's collective mind. Not that I care, it's just that he is just so distasteful and hateful. Not to mention, so incredibly full of himself.
Same as Tired Old Guy....lots of butter and salt! We'll be watching the returns. It should be entertaining, for certain!
Obama/Biden 2012!
JT,
Can I sneak some cheddar in there just for kicks? ;o)
Dennis,
Being a devout atheist, I would be willing to get down on my knees & pray! ;o)
Fiesty,
Ha! Really? I didn't know we were in the same camp.
P.S. Where did this whack job CherylLM come from?
Come on Jack - no one leads us by our nose rings! ;o)
I walked out on the Catholic Church and their bigotry at the age of 13 - I have NEVER looked back!
Cheryl gets a day pass every month or so for good behavior! lol
Me, too, but I didn't fully realize it until I was in Viet Nam. War has a way of focusing the mind. . . .
She gets a day pass "every month or so"? I guess it'll be the "or so" after tonight. She went a wee bit off the reservation.
Hey Feisty ... did she get her day pass from Haley Barbour? I thought he only pardoned convicted murderers.
Feisty
Is that when you started pulling tricks?
You mean when he was forcing Clinton to change course after 1994 to produce a balanced budget against his will???
RP you need to stop confusing yourself with Feisty... she has class and brains something you would never be accused of having.
Classy?
GOP 2012 = Dems. 1968 (per dangerfield, and he is right on this)
Phine-
Thank you for the agreement, and the attribution… :-)
I can understand the "Republicans" on this site being afraid to really talk about this race, but if you go to the authentic conservative websites, the discussion is as lively as anything you'll ever read.
I think that whatever is happening in Florida right now, Newton is beginning to win the soul of the party nationally as is evidenced by gallup...
Despite the fact that there have been 1437 debates so far, I believe that tonight's debate will be very important to this Florida primary.
I will be waiting for the all important mister Phancy's friends poll tomorrow morning before making my final decision about who the winner of tonight's debate was… :-)
@Dangerfield
Well, the tea party of Florida somehow managed to elect a guy with serious ethics issues as Governor so why not Newt. They're just keeping a strange inbred tradition alive I guess. This state is so embarrassing sometimes.
If some of the comments around "ye olde" lunch table hold, Newt won't have to do much to lock them in (that's today's latest). Romney is not well liked, and they would rather not vote for him, not vote all, or even (horror of horror's) vote for the president. Now, that was today. We shall see what tomorrow holds.
Interesting question, though, if Newt is winning the soul of the base, how will this play out if, nope, not even going to think that way. Might give me nightmares!
What about Ron Paul vs. Barack Obama? I didn't see any mention of that. In the last poll, he was in a statistical tie with the president. Ugh. More shoddy journalism.
So post the link. But considering Paul has 0 chance of securing the nomination, why bother to try to find something that you know doesn't exist?
Paul is a non-issue, actually. And unless he's totally whacked out to try to run as a 3rd party candidate like the little man from TX did in 92 and 96, he ain't got a snowball's chance in hell. And IF he runs as a 3rd party, the Dems win hands down the same way they did in 92 and 96.
Ron Paul couldn's stay awake long enough for a debate with Obama.
Because EVERYONE knows that ron paul has NO chance of becoming the front runner for the repubs! He's not a Republican.
Starbuck49, I can't believe you're bringing age into this. Reagan was 77 when he finished his 2nd term. But it's nice to see that you only hate him for real political reasons... oh wait! You don't. You probably don't even know what his platform entails, you just think because he's old that he is out of touch, when he is the only candidate up there that has any care for the American people and NOT just about being elected.
Ken-804708, Ron Paul has ran as a republican and won 12 times for Congress. He is libertarian-minded but still a republican. He's the only candidate standing a chance against Obama and the only one I'll vote for. I am not voting Republican OR Democrat in November, simply because the actions both parties take are almost identical. Same tax rates, different places that money goes. Overseas, or wasted on Keynesian spending. I will either write-in Ron Paul on that ballot or vote Libertarian/Constitutionalist. Have fun with Romney, Gingrich or Obama, or whoever you want to send your money to. Just don't post on here when they do a sh*tty job in two years. It's your own damn fault.
JG, running for a district in TX is NOT the same and never will be the same as running on the national stage. And tho the ages between him and Reagan are roughly the same, he ain't no Reagan and never will be. I'm an Independent and remember voting for Reagan. And believe me, Paul can't even come close. Plus, Paul has WAY too much baggage. Actually, there's only been 1 Texan in 70 years who had the presence and power - LBJ. Paul is a non-entity and always will be.
He's the only candidate standing a chance against Obama and the only one I'll vote for. I am not voting Republican OR Democrat in November,
--------------------------------------------------------------------
JG314-
Is this how other supporters of Dr. Paul feel? How serious are you/they about voting for someone other than the two major party candidates, or not voting at all?
We're dead serious. We've taken polls and over 80% of us Ron Paul supporters will vote third Party, Obama (to make the Republicans lose and pay, and so we can run Rand in 2016 instead of 2020 or 2024), not at all, or write-in Ron Paul. Only a little less than 20% will vote Republican.
We may not be able to get these neocons to vote our way and win this nomination...but we can damn sure lose them the election versus Obama.
Ron Paul or Obama...choose neocons.
Ron Paul have said he doesn't see himself having much of a chance. He is running so he can inject his libertarian views to the public (which he has been successful.)
I have respect for Paul, as he isn't hypocritical like most Repubicans. But there is no way Republicans will nominate him.
Perhaps because NO ONE but a few really misguided followers think Ron Paul, he who has never been able to pass a piece of legislation in his entire "legislative" career, is a viable candidate who could win a single state. I have no respect for the man--he's a bigot, a racist and his ideas are complete lunacy .
Vote the way you want, but please don't confuse the Libertarian party with the badly mis-named "Constitution" party, that's like confusing Democrat with Republican. The Libertarians are Government minimalists, they want the least amount of rules and laws possible, and do not want Government intruding in private lives.
The Constitution Party, on the other hand is extreme far-right and theocratic, they want to put Christianity at the center of Government, and want to outlaw anything they consider to be "sinful". They may agree with Libertarians on a few issues like eliminating business regulations, but on most issues they are the exact opposite. Ironically, given their name, the Constitution Party doesn't really understand the Constitution.
JG314, Since you mention age -- Reagan was 77 when he finished his second term, very close to being affected by Alzheimer's. Paul would be 77 when he began his FIRST term. I sure hope he has a good Vice-President in mind.
AP--Ron Paul is not exactly my cup of tea and his economics need some work, BUT I do respect him for one very important thing, he was refused to sign on for his government pension, is one of only two congresspeople to do so. Said it would be hypocritical as he would abolish them if he could. You may not like his principles, I don't care for most of them, but he lives them, walks the talk.
Probably would not need to and still win.
LBJ was one of the biggest disasters this country has ever had. All you need to know is "Vietnam" and bloated government.
and Civil Rights!
Not that she is running or would win..Sarah Palin is better then all those GOP clowns running..and that folks is bad.
Sarah Who??!?!?!
She's good in Bed. Ask Glenn Rice...
mike277 I like your idea about "Sarah Palin" !! .. Pity, that she is not running - all usial elections are boring... and she is the only a person in the world, who able to turn it into a comedy! :))))
Yeah, forget about Ron Paul, he actually wants to put us back on a sound monetary system like the gold standard. He actually wants to cut 1 trillion dollars in year one, I mean what the hell? why? I love running a huge deficit each year. He wants to cut government spending, but it helped grow our economy so well in 2009, right? right? Yeah, he sure is crazy, being the only one offering a plan that doesn't involve tax dollars. Come on Obama, Romney or Gingrich, tax me the hell up!!! I need more taxes!!!!!!
jg314 Do you think we have enough gold in reserve to back our monetary system? Do you think Fort Knox holds this country gold reserve?
Yep, I've definitely forgotten about Ron Paul...
Gingrich wins the GOP nomination, Obama is assured of a 2nd term. The GOP has so far produced no one who has an IQ more the room temperature to seriously consider as a President.
If Obama wins a new term, I hope for the sake of the US that Republicans keep control of the house and also control the Senate.
Actually, DON, with the way things are going, don't be so surprised if there's a whole host of changes in Congress. People have gotten PO'd with the fact of both parties' refusal to COMPROMISE.
I'd like to see all the Republicans in the House and the Senate gone too. All the Republicans have done for the past 3-1/2 years is to obstruct our Recovery and make plans on how they're going to lower our wages, steal our Social Security money, and give more tax cuts and tax breaks to rich.
Obama / Biden 2012
American Girl, you should educate yourself on Austrian Economics, rather than what your high schools government economic textbook taught you. Government intervention has NEVER helped the economy. If you give me any historical example of this Keynesian economics helping, I can counter it concisely and accurately with Austrian economics. Sometimes gridlock is the best thing our government can do.
JG, never heard of any Keynesian econ being used, since it doesn't exist. Have only seen/heard AMERICAN econ. Prehaps it's YOU who needs to educate himself rather than making a fool of yourself.
TO: JG314 who wrote:
I think former Democrat President Bill Clinton could probably say a few things about that.
The fact is, I ain't voting for NO MORE tax cuts for the rich, and I damn sure ain't voting for Republicans to get in, remove the minimum wage so that my wages can be even lower.
Lord knows I would NEVER vote to repeal affordable health care, NOR would I want Republicans tampering with my Social Security money. Period.
Obama / Biden 2012
Warmonger/moron 2012...I'm Am Girl now.
If you do a Wikipedia search on Keynesianism, you will find it is not much different from our current system. No, we're not using 100% Keynesian economics but it is very close.
Government-run healthcare will also hunder the healthcare market, hinder health care employment and ultimately, hurt the economy. And on SS, Republicans don't want to steal your money, you take it out of context. I don't agree with the status quot of the republicans on it either. I think we've putgrown it and need to transition out of it, while paying those who paid into it their full benefit.
JG: you may have been fine with the economic collapse of this country (the inevitable result of no government intervention), but I think you'd be nearly alone on that one, despite the rhetoric of your fellow Republicans. The "I told you so's" wouldn't nearly have made up for that disaster. Government is not irrelevant or I suspect your party wouldn't work so hard to try and make it true. No, we are not going to go back as a nation to "you're on your own" health care, as the only developed country in the entire world without so much as our modest, no single payer attempt at one. The extremists may want to return to hoping the fairy godmothers at insurance companies will watch out for our behinds out of the goodness of their hearts...and keep Americans one job, one paycheck and one piece of luck away from losing everything due to an illness...but most Americans are more sensible. Yes, social security works and works well despite the propaganda you're trying to perpetuate. if there's one thing George Bush proved in leading this country to near financial ruin, is the complete and total disaster privatizing social security would be. Putting a floor on this great nation to prevent millions from living of elderly from living on the streets is nothing more than commond sense. The far right has moved the Republican party to irrelvancy with it's endless fighting of long lost wars...end social security, end medicare, end reproductive freedom, end the modest new health care bill, end child labor laws, end the minimum wage, end the right to organize, ...This is why Republicans lose and will continue to increasingly lose national elections...You simply can't manufacture old white men in enough numbers tokeep perpetuating this idiocy on the country.
JG -- Keynesian theory holds that in recessionary periods the government borrows and spends to get the economy back on track, and THEN it stops borrowing and spending in order to pay off the debt during the good times. We have been really good at doing the first part, but pitifully bad at the second part.
Try telling that to all the Europeans and Japanese that have had "Government run healthcare" for decades, with great success. Ironically, the much maligned "Obamacare" isn't "government run", the hospitals, clinics, doctors, pharmacies, and insurance companies will still be privately owned and run, no Government "takeovers". By the way, even the staunchest Republican isn't going to do away with the Government run health insurance for Congress members, and the Government run Veterans Administration hospitals get very high marks from their clients.
And just how are you going to "pay the benefits" without having people pay into it - who then deserve to get those benefits when they retire? Social Security neatly solves the biggest problems of retirement - we don't know how long we're going to live in retirement, or what our retirement expenses are going to be. Live too long, or have costs rise too quickly, and most private pensions could run out, leaving one destitute at an age when going back to work is nearly impossible. Now, multi-millionaires can live forever off of investment income, unless they splurge extravagantly and use up too much of their principle, but most people cannot build up a retirement fund that big. So Social Security pays benefits to retirees as long as they live. Some retirees will die early, having paid in more than they got out, others will live much longer than average and end up getting out much more than they put in. There is no way to "privatize" Social Security and keep that important feature
Besides, there are already plenty of private investment style retirement funds available for those who want them - I have an IRA myself - so there is really no rational need to "privatize" Social Security.
Another one of your hateful and ill-informed rants. In case your head has been in a very dark smelly place for the past few years, let me enlighten you.
Democrats had control of the House and Senate from Jan 2007 through Jan 2011.
Democrats had control of the White House from Jan 2009 until now.
Democrats still have control of the Senate.
Since the Democrats have had full or partial control of Congress for the past 5 years, THEY are the primary problem with our disaster of an economy. THEY are the reason the deficit spirals totally out of control. THEY are the reason the deficit went up 50% in the past three years.
Are you in the 47% that pay NO federal income tax (FIT)?? Or are you in the 90% group that pays only 30% of total FIT? Yet you are not happy that the top 5% (over $150K) pay about 60% of total FIT? You represent the gimme-gimme generation.
Our deficit resulted primarily from 2 Bush-league Cowboy Wars, Medicare Part D, and Tycoon Welfare. Period. Best try again ol' Larry...
Try again, this time notice it has been 3 years and doubled as oppsosed to 8 years and half of the deficit Obama has created, I suppose no matter what happens as long as your savior Obama is POTUS everything forever will not be his fault. Dream on
If Gingrich runs against Obama the Republicans should expect to suffer their worst defeat since Johnson trounced Goldwater in 1964. All those Republicans who put ideological purity ahead of electability must not know (or care) about the importance of attracting independent and conservative Democrat voters in the general election. Apparently can't see the forest for the trees.
If the Republicans are to have any viable party after this inevitable defeat (and I'm guessing it'll be Romney who carries that for them), they are going to have to shed the worst extreme of their party. Their only hope is losing some of those extremists to a third party and bringing the Republican party back to some version of reality. They are actually starting to make the the Democrats look organized...a trick I thought would have been impossible. I think the end began when "moderation" became an epithet.
Teabaggers are the dumbest most vile antediluvian scum on the planet. And for that, thanks. They could have had the Supreme Court and Roe overturned, but their no compromise approach kills them at election time. WAY TO GO.
Jack, and I certainly do hope that the teabagger do go! By the way, did they ever say what happened to their JOBS JOBS JOBS promise? Gone too I guess.
That's really all you have? Third grade name-calling?
And Am girl...you can't herald the economics as a "turn-around" for fascist neocon Obama, and at the same time swear that the JOBS the Republicans promised never materialized.
It's one or the other. (BTW, RepubliBloods and DemoCrips are both fascists to me...see their PATRIOT Act and NDAA, drone surveillance, etc.,etc.)
And for the record...until you decide to end the monopoly on money supply and interest rates (the Federal Reserve) we'll be in this recession for another decade. They caused it by misjudging the money supply and interest rates, and they'll keep causing it because it's IMPOSSIBLE to be wise enough to know what the interest rates and money supply should be at any given moment for the given population and it's assets when we only do a census every 7 years! Until we do a census every ten seconds (impossible) it won't happen. We need to decentralize to the market control of interest rates and M1 money supply.
But I wouldn't expect you to understand economics...I'm sure you still think some lefty talking point like under-regulation caused the financial meltdown, right?
God this country is doomed.
Pro individual: um....you want to berate someone for "namecalling" followed by the insanely silly diatribe of "fascist neocon"?? From your post, I wouldn't expect you to understand civility or common sense, let alone economics...none of which you clearly have the slightest handle on. The country will be just fine despite your hysterics...but I think you might benefit from opening a window from time to time.
Are you talking about Obama and the Democrats??? Obama said if he got to waste all the so-called stimulus money, unemployment would not go over 8%. Remember? Remember how it flew past 8% and hung around 10% for a long time?
AP -
You need to learn the difference in calling a specific person a "name" and calling a group of people a name. The first is an opinion of one person (that we know their policies well enough) and the second is an uninformed generalization. Pro.. was addressing Jack Bond, who did make an uninformed generalization. While I don't agree with much Pro wrote, you were not that "civil" in your response.
So much for this election. Obama has it made.
On the other hand, that group of weirdo misfits called GOP presidential candidates, in the final analysis, could not even shine Obama's shoes.
However, so much for the GOP: They have a right to be in total chaos and fractured!
Romney – a 15% effective rate taxpayer, instead of 30%; off shores’ money manager man, instead of putting the money in US banks; domestic job destroyer that buys companies for profit and then dissolves them, firing everyone in sight; and, too filthy rich to be president -- and Gingrich – a serial libertarian cheat, sex maniac at best -- are fellows running for the presidency that really, in the final analysis, don´t respect anybody in the good old USA. People don´t matter to them, only money matters! They take orders from their churches (especially the Mormon slime machine), their financial backers, their women, and their money, and that´s all folks. They aren’t worth it!
Meanwhile, Santorum is an ex lobbyist that has made millions while in DCA, and many feel that the mafia would resuscitate if he made it to the White House. This guy is a suck-up who panders and postures to whomever he thinks will give him the vote. Another warmonger who just wants to defeat Obama - never mind he has absolutely no plan or vision. Just more of the same - more debt, cut domestic programs but NEVER the military. He knows where his bread is buttered. Cut military spending and you cut your own throat.
Finally, Ron Paul is too conservative, constitutionalist, and libertarian for anybody´s liking.
Clearly, the GOP has managed to set loose in the election scene of the country four stooges, and weirdo misfits, Banana republic style, that are not convenient for the presidency of the USA.
I myself would rather stick it out with Obama for the next four years.
Yawn!
German,
Nice summary. the GOP really think the public will not notice these "qualities". They think the voters are stupid.
That was the saddest statement. He's too conservative for the neocons (liberal Republicans). He's too Constitutionalist (the freakin' law of the land...the oath they all take to get in office). He's too libertarian (the free market economists were the only ones who predicted the economic crisis in striking detail and the ONLY ones sticking up for civil liberties in this police state gone fascist ARE the libertarians).
This is more of a commentary on our fickle, stupid, and violent electorate than on Ron Paul. The lynch mob's opinion clearly isn't ready for such foresight, virtue, liberties, integrity, and consistency.
I see no problem calling someone "too Constitutionalist" if by that one means believes in an exact, literal interpretation of a 200+ year old document. The Constitution HAS to be flexible to keep up with the times. Otherwise, like some languages, the Catholic doctrine and other antique systems that do not allow for reinterpretation/adaptation, it will become completely irrelevant and will be consigned to the dustbin of history.
ProIndividual: "foresight"??? "integrity"??/ "Consistency"...and you're speaking of Ron Paul??? THE Ron Paul??? The old man who actually argues that Abe Lincoln was a power hungry dictator who waged an unnecessary war over a silly ol' thing like slavery? The guy who has never passed a piece of legislation in his entire career because his own COLLEAGUES think he's a lunatic? The guy who wants to legalize heroin and prostitution (oh gee, we wouldn't want to tell anyone what to do)...but at the same time, CRIMINALIZE abortion?? The guy who never met a pork barrel project he couldn't support? The nutcase who thinks we don't need an IRS, or anyone heaven forbid, monitoring clean air, water, or food? The guy who thinks if we just pretend Iran will be nice to us, we can all hold hands around the campfire? The guy who KNOWS the only reason he's still in the race at all (which apparantly you do not) is to gain some legitimacy for his son's career and to hopefully be allowed to at least make a speech at the Republican convention? Tell me no one, anywhere in the country, is that hopelessly deluded.....
AP, stick around long enough, and you'll get to see plenty of Paulite diatribes. Ron Paul's followers are fanatical, often insisting that Paul is the only hope for saving the country. They say that every time Ron Paul runs for the Presidency, and they keep getting disappointed, but that doesn't stop them.
Ron Paul will continue to get 10% to 20% in each state, his fanatical followers, but never enough to win nomination.
AP-1414066
As deluded as you, I don't think so..
The world is mad. A sleazeball like Gingrich is actually LEADING the polls! I guess the GOP has no issue with a pinhead that was run out of Washington BY HIS OWN PARTY and has all the ethics of a serial killer. What the hell is WRONG with people? He'll have his plastic Calista as First Mistress and yoiu would think all those professed 'Christians' would frown on that. Are they THAT stupid that they can't demand BETTER? Newtie will implode. It's just a matter of when. He's as unstable as any candidate in recent memory. And his 'moon base' is just a sample of the jokes to come. He can do his own colonoscopy simply by opening his eyes but that's hardly a claim to be President.
Not the world, just the Teapublican party.
YEA
Ron Paul for a better America.
If the GOP doesn't want to lose they better nominate Ron Paul...because even if they give the VP nod to Ron or Rand, allow us to change their platform that just ignore anyways, or throw us any other placating bone we STILL won't vote for their nominee. We'll lose them this election outright if they refuse to nominate Paul again...we're tired of asking nicely. Nominate Paul or eat Obama for 4 more years so we can run Rand in 2016. Because if the Republicans win versus Obama we KNOW Rand can't run until 2020 or 2024.
It's Ron Paul or Obama...make your choice neocons. We aren't setting the liberty movement back 8-12 years so you can have Santorum, Romney, or Gingrich...just forget that right now.
Oh course the poll shows Obamanation leading. The poll is run by the Propaganda machine of Obamanation..... Who else would they put as leading........
Again with the "Main stream Media"???? Get a new bag. We are all so very tired of hearing about the liberal media bias. Last time i checked, Fox news was the most watched News Network in the nation. But I dont see anyone pointing their fingers at them!
I'm with ya on that .... except for calling FOX a "news network"
You are right on the first point but totally oblivious on the second. Most every liberal posting here seems to think Fox News is far right.
I watch CNN and Fox (MSNBC turns my stomach) for politics and assorted news. While Fox has some conservative hosts of opinion shows (not news), they also have independent and liberal viewpoints. Although CNN is not as left as it used to be (they learned from looking at Fox News success), their "balanced" panels usually consist of 4-5 liberals and 1 conservative. Watching both gives me a balance of opinions, but in the end, "I decide".
MSNBC is a bought and paid for liberal machine. Nowhere did you see MSNBC report on Obama insisting the military could be used to indefinitely detain Americans through the NDAA, with no judicial recourse or even criminal charges made, which he signed into law December 31st. Nowhere did you see MSNBC report that while Obama was expressing sympathy for the outrage against SOPA/PIPA, he had already signed a treaty called ACTA on October 1st which basically does everything SOPA/PIPA would do, but affects all the nations that agreed to it. Right now the White House is pressuring the Senate to ratify it, and if they don't the President is declaring it an, "executive agreement," which is illegal because copyright are constitutionally under the mandate of Congress, not the executive branch. Nowhere on MSNBC did they report about Solyndra, where the government backed the investments a certain Democrat billionaire put into the failed company and left the taxpayer on the dole. Nowhere on MSNBC did you see coverage on the federally run gun-running operation Fast & Furious. This is about the most corrupt administration in this country's history, whose sole purpose is to make serfs out of the American people. If you care at all about being a free citizen in this country, I strongly recommend you study our current President's actions. Sad to say, most of the Republican alternatives aren't much better.
Gingrich is a megalomaniacal racist. It's astonishing to me he has gotten as far as he has. Doesn't speak well of the people voting for him ... although what do you expect from Southern racists. Romney is just as bad representing the interests of the wealthy and corporate America. If Obama isn't a shoe-in in the general, America is lost, and deservedly so.
Am I missing something, or did they leave out the question of how Ron Paul would fare as the Republican candidate if put against Obama? Like that's not a glaringly questionable omission.
I think Obama has 49 points on Ron Paul
No problem, I can enlighten you on that one, pal. Ron Paul would be trounced so badly by Obama that the election beteen LBJ and Barry Goldwater would look like a close race.
Ron Paul has unrealistic and unworkable ideas that would totally destroy this country. It is plain and simple. It has nothing to do with the media and supposed bias but reality. People see and hear the candidates and they know what they stand for. The debates, campaign ads etc. take care of that.
The primary reason is that Paul is so irrelevant in this election that it is a waste of time, printing, video etc. on a candidate who has the chance of an ice cube in the Sahara on the hottest day of the year.
They don't consider non- issues in the poll.

Ron Paul loses to Obama, but I do think Ron Paul has a good sense of humor.
Obama / Biden 2012
In all the polls I've seen where they put him against Obama as the Republican, not third party, candidate, they're tied. This poll does not posit that situation.
Every poll Ive ever seen that pits Dr Paul against Obama nationwide shows a dead heat and has for the last three months, that's why they didn't include it in this article.
Ron Paul is hardly a "non-entity". There are plenty of polls that show Ron Paul doing extremely well in a November election with a Dr. Pau vs. Obama scenaro.
These are all polls from January 2012 alone.
"CBS Poll: Independents Prefer Ron Paul Vs Obama -
If a Paul-Obama showdown were ever to take place, 47% of independent voters would vote for Paul, 81% republicans and 10% Democrats for a total of 45% of the vote. Obama would get just 40% of the independent vote in that contest, with 85% of the Democrats choosing Obama and 9% of Republicans choosing the President on election day in November. Obama would win the general election by a narrow one point margin if the election was held today between the two."

"CNN Poll: Obama tied with Romney & Paul in November showdowns
The poll also indicates Paul statistically tied with Obama, with the president at 48% and the longtime congressman at 46%. But according to the poll, the president is doing better against two other Republican presidential candidates. If Rick Santorum were the GOP nominee, Obama would hold a 51%-45% advantage over the former senator from Pennsylvania. And if Newt Gingrich faced off against the president, Obama would lead the former House speaker 52%-43%."

Ron Paul is in a statistical tie with Obama in several of these polls, or just a few percentage points away. He does better than Gingrich and Santorum vs. Obama. So, why does NBC/Wall Street Journal leave him out? Even if you don't like Ron Paul, how can you dismiss him when he is polling much better than two of the candidates they included (Gingrich and Santorum)? I think it's just plain shady to leave him out. Personally, I have no interest in NBC and the Wall Street Journal "designing" polls so they can shape public opinion, which is obviously their intention here.

If these data are accurate, I find them to be quizzical. I guess that I am baffled that the republicans would prefer the thrice-married adulterer who was booted from the House for ethics violations--I personally don't care about candidates' personal lives or wives, but I thought that the republicans DID, so I am puzzled. Newt's contradictory statements over so many years of being in the political arena, it seems to me, would be a major liability. I guess that I don't know the GOP very well because I find it hard to figure why they wouldn't overwhelmingly prefer the long-married, big-business, religious, well-funded "moderate" over the more flamboyant candidate with so much "baggage."
CK,
The GOP of the old days when they would nominate Romney by acclamation is over.
The GOP in search of an identity and a way to placate the tea party folks is a wonder to behold.
CK, welcome to the club. I can't figure out how Republicans rationalize voting for Newt over Romney for the reasons you outlined. I'm sure that part of the Republican mindset is that Romney is a Mormon, and therefore he can't have the Christian family values like Gingrich.
I have a relative who is all gung-ho for Gingrich. That relative is well-off and a Mormon, should be a natural for Romney, but isn't. It baffles me, too.
I am embarrassed for the Republican Party. Can't you people get some candidates that would help the country. So many losers!
super x
There is NO WAY we can vote for any of these Republicans because all they're going to do is make things as bad as they can on the American Workers.
All of the Republicans signed on to the pledge to steal our Social Security money, to remove the minimum wage so that we would be forced to work for even less money, and then give more tax cuts to the rich.
Republicans = Tax Cuts for the rich, pay cuts for American Workers !
Obama / Biden 2012
Am Girl...stop capitalizing "Workers" as if they hire people and drive the economy...they don't. They are important but not a proper noun.
Also, stop doing it while cheerleading for a neocon President like Obama who tortures, signs NDAA indefinite detention, allows drones to spy on US, wiretaps without warrants like Bush, allows federal agents to use self-written search warrants, kills American citizens with no trial or even suspicions presented to any judge, ups the ante on the drug war, and I could go and on and on and on...
If you support Obama at this point, you're a sophist, willfully ignorant, or a hypocrite who just thinks in black and white fallacies like DemoCrip and RepubliBood, us/them, either/or, or some other false paradigm non-sense.
BTW, you do realize tax is extrotion on the threat of kidnapping (prison), right? Why would you fix that by raising extortion for the rich, when morally you should seek to reduce extortion on the rest of us? I mean, put aside the suicidal economic idiocy of raising taxes on the wealth accumulators...ethically, what the heck are you thinking?
War is Peace, Slavery is Freedom, Ignorance is Strength, Interventions are Humanitarian...Orwell (Obama) 2012!...lol...grow a brain, a conscience, or a soul please.
This warmonger has to go. He came in office with 3 armed conflicts, now we're in 8. Neocon DemCrips suck just as bad as neocon RepubliBloods...unless you capitalize "Workers"...lol.
Torture was ended as an official policy of the US government when your boy GW Bush left the White House. Grow a brain indeed...he's ended the longest and most ill advised war in US History...(that'd be Iraq) and is about to end the Afghanistan war. Taxes are the price we pay for a free and civilized society. And yes, tax BREAKS for the rich, are not enshrined in the US Constitution (the tax code is a little ol' thing that gets changed quite a lot and has resulted in quite a huge bonus despite your crockodile tears for multi-millionaires who have nothing, absolutely nothing with job creation)...the Tax Code was changed and modified a lot, yes, even back in the day when it wasn't a sin to speak of "Workers". Go back to 5th grade government class and try again. You've taken otherwise legitimate claims and wrapped them in absurd propaganda and you can't seem to be able to tell the difference.
I hope you're basing your idiotic comment on something other than this fictional article. If not, and you're dumb enough to believe anything a poll done by NBC says, then why on earth would anyone listen to your opinion or pay attention to anything you have to say?
Pathetic panderer and political puppet to the filthy rich, Gingrich is a con-man (neo-con-man) with the most sinister reason to get into the presidency - to pay his bosses back before they break his legs. It is truly amazing how many Americans think he will help them improve their lives. He was part of the Neo-con Mafia that stole all the money from the middle class and gave it to the rich during the Reagan con-game. Suckers! LOL
Did you not notice the bailouts on the backs of the middle class that neocon Obama did?
Are you willfully ignorant, or a sophist?
Obama/BNush...all the same neocon BS. Look at the wars, drug war, torture, surveillance at home, self written search warrants, warrantless wiretaps, Obama assassinates American citizens without so much as judges approval, Obama inherited 3 armed conflicts and in less than 4 years has 8, the list goes on and on.
Don't point the finger in your ingroup/outgroup psychosis at just the RepubliBlood mafia. Look in the mirror at your DemoCrip mafia. Both sides tax (extort) on the threat of kidnapping (prison). If you don't think they extort you like a mafia, refuse to pay and see if you're not kidnapped. You want to pay? A willing payment is called a donation, not tax (look tax up).
We live in a fascist nightmare courtesy of both mafia families...the RepubliBlood neocons and the DemoCrip neocons (progressives). Progressivism isn't liberalism, and neoconservativism isn't conservatism.
ProIndividual...Let me guess...owe a whole bunch in back taxes or child support and waiting for the jackbooted thugs to come take you away? Someone preventing you from growing illegal drugs and you're really, really ticked off about such limits on your "liberties"??? Loosen the tin foil hat. Someone needs to learn what a real fascist is...you're ridiculous.
