Newt Gingrich opened a pivotal Republican presidential debate with a fiery attack on the media for publishing stories regarding new allegations made against him by an ex-wife.
Gingrich assailed, in no uncertain terms, CNN moderator John King for opening the debate by asking Gingrich to answer allegations made by his ex-wife, Marianne, in an interview with ABC News, saying the then-speaker of the House asked to engage in an "open marriage," or else he would file for divorce.
"I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate with a topic like that," Gingrich said, earning wild applause from the audience. "To take an ex-wife and make it two days before the primary a significant question in a presidential campaign is as close to despicable as anything I can imagine."
Gingrich disputed the allegations as "false," and his three fellow Republicans onstage resisted piling on. ("Let's get on to the real issues," former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said.)
It was a spirited opening to a debate that capped one of the most politically tumultuous days of the 2012 cycle.

Newt is bragging about all of his fabricated accomplishments and of course the rednecks are buying into it.
I wonder how much practice it took for him to look so outraged that anyone would bring it up. Just like a kid throwing a tantrum - they do it because it usually gets them what they want.
It is a shame that John backed down - and the other candidates feel integrity shouldn't be desirable trait for the President. This is what happens when past Presidents pull the office down to this level. Amazing.
This is whats wrong with our politicalsystem, the main stream media wants to decide what supposed news comes out when and total bias towards one party! FOX news is the only fair and balanced network the rest are a waste of time. U think that's y all the other networks ratings are so LOW, u better believe it!
There are so many other real issues to debate and for CNN and the likes to come out with this 14 year old supposed news is absolutely appalling. Where are the real journalist anymore, oh that would be FOX not MSLSD!!!

Expecting a candidate to have integrity in their personal life is "crap"? Not in my family.
Let me get this straight... So what you're saying then, Liberty, is that conservatives are good with a hypocrite for president? A man his own wives couldn't trust? A former Speaker of the House who was fined and kicked out by his own party for ethics violations?
A man who blatantly uses a phony religious conversion story to excuse his lack of character? Who claims to support ethical values when his behavior demonstrates otherwise?
If this is really the kind of person conservatives want in the White House, what does that say about conservatives?...and why call yourselves "conservative"?

It would seem to me not to many of you read or may have been born during the Clinton years. All this is old news and it did not hold to much water back then. Being an ex wife "hell hath no fury like a women scorned" I do not give it much value.
I just wonder how much she was paid for this 15 minutes of fame.
Perhaps she did it because she wants the country to know what a piece of sh!t her ex is. In that way, she is doing us all a great service.

Newt's always outraged when questioned about his moral fiber-but loves to pontificate about the morals of others, especially "liberals", and whomever else he deems unworthy. Such a raving hypocrite (along with the South Carolina yayhoos populating audience attending the debate). Newt would prefer everyone just look the other way when it comes to his sordid performances in Congress and his personal life. So typical of most Republicans. They're always shouting the loudest and willing to blame someone else when one of their representatives conflicts with their purported family and political values (Joe Walsh are you listening?) . But they can't escape the truth: Newt and the gang have one goal - pure self interest and enrichment at the expense of others. It's the Republican way.
The "Republican debates" is the best goddamn comedy series ever, I give it 5 thumbs up! I hope the series gets picked up for next season, and please bring Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry back, they are so funny!

What about denigrating the actual President over an unproven affair with an intern while said President is trying to thwart terrorism in Afghanistan and stop the flow of terrorism before it starts? I suppose only in that case, Mr. Gingrich, the defense of the country pales in comparison to exposing the President for political gain. I have never seen anyone live in such a grand glass house (or glass mansion) as you, Mr. Gingrich!

Gingrich is like a stray dog. His most animalistic desires rule him. So much for loyalty and devotion in his marriage(s). First of all, Obama could have done alot if the teatards in congress weren't blocking everything he is trying to do and if the republican's STATED number one priority was to fix the economy and get the country back on line and not "to make Obama a one term president." Newt is so full of crap it makes good comedy. What a hypocrite. Here is some real history on Newt: While Clinton was getting blown in the Oval Office, something that most men and many women understand is not he worst thing that can happen, Newt was two-timing his first wife, near death in the hospital, with who became his second wife. While this was going on, he wanted Clinton impeached for his behavior. He did end his two-timing by going to his wife's death bed and telling her he wanted a divorce. Now his second wife that was the other woman back then, is accusing him of wanting an "open marriage". That may be the least of his sins as he was coming forth with some truth by then.
On top of all that, his behavior in congress as the leader, with reprocusions that included sanctons, got kicked out of congress and was fined $300,000 . How can you beat that for having warts?
I'm not big on Obama but give him a pass for trying under the worst situation imaginable.
Keep this in mind from an old guy that lived through the great depression, The greatest thing this nation has to be proud of is its middle class. People around the world wish they had it as good. The Middle class is the engine of democracy, a sound economy and a viable strong defense. The greedy bastards that did us in, will do it again if we put a Republican in charge along with congress. The last time it was like that was not long ago, the first six years of the Bush Administration got us two wars and a draconian "fixed" perscription medicare deal off budjet. Off budjet means they had not way to pat for any of it. Try not to forget that is when we went over the cliff. Even as the Right never mention his name, he and Cheney and the rest of the Neocons did exist..
My ex wife thinks I am despicable, because I did despicable things, I was run out of office by my own party for ethics violations, but you know what is really despicable, being questioned about it. Ok Newt whatever. Is it your actions that are despicable, or is it just the questioning of those actions that is despicable?

Obama- while enduring vicious obstructionism from Republicans- in 3 years has managed to bring our country back from the edge of a financial meltdown, helped millions of uninsured citizens get health insurance, get us out of Iraq and capture Osama Bin Laden. Now, he has stepped up to the plate and stopped the environmental disasterous Keystone pipeline plan.
Thank you, President Obama, for being a president working for all of us- not just for the wealthy and powerful.
Oh, and thank you, President Obama, for not playing dress up and going on a destroyer with a big "Mission Accomplished" sign when we got out of Iraq. You said thank you to the soldiers but did not toot your own horn.

Are you stupid or just blind. Obama took a bad economy, caused by liberal legislation, and almost caused another Depression due to his legislation passed when he had Reid and Pelosi in charge of the Senate and House. Obama works for Obama, he doesn't give a crap about you or the American people.
