Romney "won" Iowa by eight votes, which means he actually only gets half of the Iowa delegates. Let's say the other primaries are equally close. What are the chances the Republican primary will result in a brokered convention?

I have a question:

Mitt says he doesn't like the idea of all these 'super-pacs'. Does anyone know what Mitt's 'offical', public stance is on the activist judges' decision on 'Citizens United'?

DBO

I'm guessing it's a 'wide' one and will change by tomorrow,...but that's just an educated guess. LOL

Since, it been said there was voter fraud in the Iowa Caucus because someone was seen stuffing ballots, how then can Mitt be the winner?

Why will "Romulian Romney" NOT release his tax information?? What real tax rate has the "Romulian" payed over the years?? Who has been doing his taxes? How much of his money is hidden in off shore accounts?? How much of his money is from investments? How much of his income has he passed into and out of Corporate Loopholes?? America needs to get direct answers to these questions.

I've been curious as to whether you all have developed a more technologically advanced system of tracking the Delegates? And, whether or not anyone cares about the split delegate voting going on with the Republicans.

The battle between Obama and Clinton was Epic with them seriously duking it out for the Super Delegates. It's no wonder we Dems see this Republican 'primary' as a coronation of sorts, right? (not that being crowned King of the Idiots is any great prize,...right? Oh, I kid!)

This takes us back to some Good Old Days:

Is the democrat convention really going to be held at the Bank of America arena?

Won't that present a bit of an image problem?

No, actually, the convention itself will be at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. President Obama's acceptance speech may be held at the Bank of America Stadium, also in Charlotte. The Bank of America Arena is actually in Seattle - perhaps that's what NoJoe was referring to this morning when she was making all those odd references to the President being able to skate or play hockey. Do you guys get your wrong info from the same place?

In any case, since somewhere around 90% of the arenas AND stadiums in this country are named after banks or other financial institutions, then no - I don't think anyone except you will really care. Sure didn't seem to have been an image problem at Invesco Field in 2008, did it?

Nah .... just add styrofoam Greek columns.....

Which raises another issue though ... how will the DNC meet new expectations of Obama's ego?

Do you think we'll see any repercussions from the fact that House Tea Partiers stuck a knife in McConnell's back on the payroll tax deal? Or, the other side of the same coin, if McConnell let TP'ers twist in the wind for a few days before coming to the rescue in order to teach them a lesson in the way Washington works, is there any chance that lesson was learned?

    Hi Mark & Domenico!

It is looking more & more like Willard has the nomination sewn up!

Already there is plenty of speculation on possible running mates - who do you think are the top contenders and what strength would they bring to a Romney ticket?

      Amy,

thanks for remembering, but, actually, I don't like Virginia Gov Bob McDonnell.

I love the guy ! He is a political superstar.

But if Hillary gets on the Dem ticket, pressure will be to choose Gov Martinez of New Mexico, or Condy Rice.

How many corporations did Bain Capital desttoy because there was NO profit to be made?? How many American Jobs has "Romulian Romney" outsourced to other countries?? Why does the "Romulian" put profit over people?? What specific investments has the "Romulian" made over his years at Bain Captial?? The American had better be asking the "Romulian" these questions, and more before they vote. NO WAY are these questions being asked of the "Romulian" out of envy. Do NOT even think about comparing Progressive Power to "European Socialism" you very "Greedy Romulian." That is fact!

Those are very good questions ladies and gentlemen!!! Mine is, how much does what's going to happen in Congress over the next 2 months and even into the summer going to help shape what this 2012 election year is going to mean to America? We got the payroll tax cut, unemployment benefits, bush tax cuts, debt ceiling debate, DOD cuts, miscellaneous spending cuts man a whole lot of action and business to do before we even focus on the election that I had to ask.

My guess is the Bush tax cuts won't be discussed until after the election. The republicans don't want that debate again after spending a year plus refusing to raise taxes on the wealthy, despite poll after poll showing most Americans believe it is necessary.

Never have visited or lived in the State of Massachusetts, I honestly only know the bits and pieces of news stories how Mitt governed that State from the Governor's chair. I take all that information with a grain of salt. FOX says one thing MSNBC say another; it seems all heavily slanted.

I do recall the Salt Lake City Olympics and that Mitt was the man in charge of that charade of corruption and deceit.

Mitt after this Olympics, from the Skating Officials having to leave the Olympic village for corruption to the entire Olympic committee collecting bribes to select Salt Lake City as the Host city; why should I not consider your performance in this sordid affair when judging your candidacy, at a time when corruption in the US is quite nearly causing our entire system to fail?

Mark: Mitt after this Olympics, from the Skating Officials having to leave the Olympic village for corruption to the entire Olympic committee collecting bribes to select Salt Lake City

          From the wiki:

In 1998, several IOC members were forced to resign after it was uncovered that they had accepted bribes from Salt Lake Bid Committee co-heads Tom Welch and Dave Johnson in return for voting for Salt Lake City to hold the Games. In response to the scandal and a financial shortfall for the games, Mitt Romney was hired as the new President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, leaving him and IOC PresidentDr. Jacques Rogge to contend with the public outcry and financial mess.

Blaming Romney for the what the French judges did is pretty far fetched and silly.

And Romney wasn't even around during the bribes.

Also, the 2002 Winter Olympics were one of the most successful ever.

          Educate yourself Mark.

Mark, that's probably something most people have forgotten about Romney or at least do not associate with him directly. All we hear from him is that he "saved" the Olympics for Salt Lake City. I need to do some research on it.

Looks as if my question has been asked already in different ways but will ask anyway.

          1) Since it is no longer "winner take all", how do you think the new GOP rules for delegates will impact the convention? 2) With the religious conservatives mounting a late but fairly strong effort to nominate anyone but Mitt Romney, do you think they will withhold their delegates from Romney? 3) How will the religious conservatives delegates and Ron Paul delegates impact the convention?

Obviously Mitt Romney if nominated would want to pick a conservative as running mate.

What other actions can Romney take to make peace with the conservative wing?

(Campaign advisors? Early endorsements and money to conservative Senate candidates? Endorsing a flat tax? Other things? )

will Obama have to give back campaign donations of soon to be or already convicted thieves like former Gov.Corzine (D) and Courtney Dupree ?

Courtney Dupree was convicted of vastly overstating the billings of his Long Island City-based lighting company GDC Acquisitions in order to fraudulently obtain a loan from Amalgamated Bank.Dupree, 42, sat stone-faced as the verdict was read in Brooklyn Federal Court. He faces up to 30 years in prison and has to pay back at least $18 million.

In 2008, Dupree hosted a $1,000-a-ticket fund-raiser for Barack Obama at his Broad St. apartment that was attended by top aide Valerie Jarrett.

You are aware, Leona, that Corzine has not even been charged with anything yet, yes?

The Obama Campaign has already returned contributions made by Corzine...

          politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/23/obama-campaign-returns-corzine-donations/

As for Corey Dupree, yes, return any money that he personally gave the campaign, but if he's hosting a fund-raiser at which others are contributing, does the campaign have to give the money back? Better question, can the FEC force the campaign to return any money?

            Da Noid,

Corzine conveniently "doesn't know what happened" to almost 1 billion dollars.

So, I expect that will not be ignored by his clients who are OUT the money. They'll get their day in court.

"The White House emphasized Zients' "twenty years as a CEO, management consultant, and entrepreneur" when announcing his promotion, but did not mention that Zients' used to work with Bain & Company."

Hi Mark & Domenico---thanks as always for taking our questions.

For 2 primary cycles now the Republican conservative wing has been unable to agree on one candidate, enabling a more moderate to have an easy path to the nomination. Why do they not seem to figure this out and settle on someone early in the process?

Now that the President is coming out blazing with both barrels early in the game. His ammo furnished by these latest GOP debates. The right-wingers elected official that will be running for the office of the President of the United States, won't be protected by his cronies and their 11th commandment. And also they will have to be very carefull with what they say and do. Because President Obama will surely make them "Eat their Peas"... All I can say is that, it's only fair in love, war and politics to expose a hypocryte for what he is and a flip-flopper for being on both side of an issue and having their political party quickly send their spin machine doctors out there to hide their decietful lies. Oh-yeah this is going to be great, now we can see a masterful tactician at work. And the American people will benefit from all of this. Be it good or bad, there won't be any stones for the Gop/T-Pers to crawl under... Because fungus won't be able to flourish when quickly exposed to the light... Game on
