BLYTHEWOOD, SC -- The vulture flies no more.
Gov. Rick Perry's address to about 40 diners at famed Southern cookin' joint Lizards Thicket Thursday offered a healthy helping of anti-Obama rhetoric with a side of swipes at the "insiders" who are running for the presidency.
But his least appetizing metaphor for Mitt Romney -- one in which he graphically compared Romney's former company Bain Capital to a vulture picking at the carcasses of damaged companies -- had vanished from his speech.
The Texas governor first unveiled the "vulture capitalism" term on Tuesday, echoing a similar line of attack to Newt Gingrich has used against the former Massachusetts governor.
Perry used the term three times in one speech yesterday but then appeared to abruptly drop it during later campaign stops.
The wave of Bain attacks has subsided as conservative commentators ripped Perry for being "anti-free-market" and providing fodder for Democratic critics of Romney, should the presumed frontrunner become the GOP's nominee.
In Blythewood, he began a sentence that sounded like a possible wind-up to a defense against those pundits.
"I'm a capitalist and I believe in the profit motive, but there is a point in time where we have to say 'Wait a minute, what is going on here?'" he began.
But instead of launching into the story of workers in Gaffney, SC laid off at the hands of Bain -- a staple for the last few days in South Carolina -- he dinged the US Treasury for its cozy relationships with Wall Street banks, a months-old critique.
Perry's tempered criticism comes against the backdrop of a defection by a top Perry backer, Barry Wynn, to Romney's campaign. Wynn told the Associated Press that the Texas governor's recent attacks on Romney's record at Bain had spurred his decision to switch sides in the primary.
Asked about the "vulture" capitalism swipe on a Fox News interview Thursday, Perry did not disavow the attack outright but implied that his examination of Bain's record could help voters determine if Romney is a "flawed candidate" before the general election.
"The fact is, this process is about winnowing out individuals and testing whether or not they're a flawed candidate or not," he said. "And I will tell you when people can point to where you made a quick profit and kicked people out of their jobs, that is an issue that has got to be addressed."

When the dumb dumb american voters WAKE UP and quit taking the bait from both parties and GET THE MONEY OUT OF OUR ELECTIONS.........it will get better........QUIT TAKING THE BAIT.
As I was watching the TV, there was a reporter interviewing Mayor Giuliani, as they were talking about the King of bain. I started to think about the 15 trillion national debt. And I thought about how Pres. Obama needs to increase the debt limit by another 1.2 trillion. It made me think about what happens to the value of the dollar when the federal government just starts printing more money. Of which I am sure that debt will increase not only with interest but it will also reflect the deflation of the dollar.
They gave me an idea for a new business venture. I believe that I want to start an online gambling website. I think it should be a $10 buy-in for each bet made. The bets will be in different categories.
The first category will be which state will be first to succeed from the union.
The second category will be how much the national debt will be before states start to file to succeed from the union.
The third category will be whether or not the United States will go to war with Iran before the 2012 elections.
.
The fourth category will be how many countries will be united states be divided into.
I haven't as yet come up with the name for the website so leave your ideas.

I hope that Gov. Perry and Speaker Gingrich have the "balls and testosterone" to take on the mainstream GOP and let them as well as the GOP voters "know, know, and know" that Team Romney has almost certainly hijacked the GOP nomination. Newt and Rick, for all practical purpose, "put a grade 3 triage wound on Mo Romney." Obama, would have been afraid to state those things about Romney for fear of being labeled as anti-business. Now, since Perry and Newt "eviserated" Romney a couple of days ago.......the assualt of the stories, " of the victims of Bain are already on the air." It won't be until after Romney is the GOP standard bearer that "some of Willard's former corporate raider executive officers are approaced by operatives of Team Obama.......and "offered a chance for some personal payback for Romney as well as enough money for their willingness to "do the right thing," that Romney will be rendered, not just defined, "as a unfit candidate----after it's too late.
GOP......"Are you on President Obama's payroll? If you feel that Mo. Romney is the "best candidate you have to take on President Obama..........it is kind of like bringing a knife to a gunfight."
Barack Obama and Rham Emmanuel are nobody's fools.
WAKE THE F--K UP!

but yet nobody is for raising taxes on rich who are benefiting even now from bush crooked policies. the whole world is laughing at us. china is eating our lunch. but still its repub business as usual. they say we need to do away with all regulation, open floodgates of corporate greed, while at the same time the pipeline would use mostly all foreign workers and our middle class is going to china. they got all the money now from supplying us with cheap junk while we have nothing. but the repus who dont change think the current trickle down nightmare is like a God's gift from repubs. but it dont work for anyone but the rich, everyone knows that. yet all the repub candidates, even ron paul want anything to do with a free democratic society that takes care of everyone and isnt brown-nosing the rich like them. all these jokers are fakes and because of their unoriginality, wont have a snowballs chance in hell. what a farce. all based on greed.
if you greedy lazy american workers would work for 5 bucks an hour, no benefits, no overtime pay, no paid vacations and no pensions or unemployment insurance or social security tax or medicare tax to pay for each employee we wouldnt have to hire the chinese. The gop and mitt gets this and will eliminate all these burdens killing our employers and put you back to work-make it happen vote tea party were takin america back!!
Why do I get the impression that you are yanking everybody's chain?
Yes Perry you should back up, MITTS A HERO!!
He took those smelly disgusting dem workers and their way too high saleries and pensions and medical benefits, many the dreaded union workers and squashed them like a bug and took that money and gave it to good outstanding patriotic americans, the stock holders and business owners, like you and me!! yes vote romney for president-vote tea party were takin america back!!
Who got to Perry and told him to shut his mouth? I don't agree with Perry about anything usually but his assessment of most of Romney's time at Bain was accurate and quite an accurate metaphor.
Perry has backed off like a the good little GOP boy that he is. The National GOP has spoken. When Nikki Haley and Jim DeMint say back off, DAMN IT! BACK OFF! All that is missing is Jim Wilson shouting "you lie!" into his face.........
Newt's still being vicious tho and will his super-PAC funded by Adelstone back off? Wow - as Feisty sez: get out the popcorn! We got us a show. TV ads are non stop - Santorum's are fluffy, Newt is in full attack mode and Huntsman and Paul are canvassing the state - the last 2 must not have a lot of money for TV. Got my first Mitt robocall last night.
Does not matter what the Great White Dope says or does, he is irrelevant, not sure what if any impact ads he run may have. I am thinking anyone that would support this guy moves to Ron Paul. And if he gets nomination, best make sure he has good VP, cause odds are he is not making it through one term.

The GOP is so desperate to get someone, anyone, in office other than Obama they could care less what that person stands for, intends, plans, or if they're anywhere even close to in-keeping with what little values the organization has left. They don't care about this country, you, your business, or anything other than winning.
Look how well winning worked for Charlie Sheen.
Mo Romney, "the great white hope!"
Let the games begin!

The Coal-fired Power plants have been on notice for a long time to clean up the pollutants they spew into the air for everyone to breathe and the president has made it clear they have to comply with the EPA rules promulgated. America is in the forefront in clean air and environmental issues and should carry out and implement these regulations for all Americans. The die-hard extreme fringe will continue to scream about EPA rules and de-regulation because they are in the pockets of the super-affluent who do not care about water, ground and air quality. All they care about is pleasing the 1%-ers and their tax breaks. The EPA, the America lung Association and many scholarly bodies welcome our efforts. But the puppeteers have control of this radical element who cannot see past the monies they receive the effects of "Global Warming"! These die-hard illusionist will shut down plants rather than fix the plants to make their points. These TEA-GOP-republican members care only about keeping taxes down and lie that jobs will be lost and the increase in cost that will be passed onto the consumer. This is all the same hogwash that has been used since time infinitum.
On Jan 13, 2012, I read Patricia Kilday Hart's piece in the Houston Chronicle stating Texas leads the country in greenhouse gas emissions and we could thank or Governor Rick Perry. Perry issued an executive order fast-tracking permit requests for construction of new coal-fired power plants while Texas was awash with cheap, cleaner natural gas, an alternative for electricity production. Perry told Texas this would be an economic boon and there would be 3,770 new jobs generated. Meanwhile Perry received hundreds of thousand of dollars in campaign contributions from Wyoming Coal companies. He and his appointees to the Texas Public Utilities Commission and the Texas Environmental Commission on Environmental Quality colluded to mis-inform the public and at a speed to avoid new federal laws for carbon pollution. Texas now has thirteen coal-fired, greenhouse polluting power plants that will not and do not comply with the new federal rules for carbon pollution. ERCOT has failed to protect Texas, Texans and the people downwind from Texas from greenhouse gases. Texas is a one-party state run by unforgiving Capital chasing career politicians.

Meanwhile Obama is silently standing by and garnering all of the juicy tidbits that these fools are throwing at each other. If this is the best offered Obama will certainly have another term.
