More 2012: Fenway politics

MASSACHUSETTS: Taegan Goddard writes, “Two years ago, while locked in a tight race to fill the seat of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Martha Coakley (D) defended her hands-off campaign style: ‘As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?’ The quote epitomized how she managed to lose Kennedy's seat to Republican Scott Brown. President Obama called it one of the ‘great gaffes in modern American politics.’”

Well: “Over the weekend, Mother Jones reports that Elizabeth Warren (D), the leading Democrat to challenge Brown this fall, tweeted a photo of her shaking hands at Fenway Park in the cold.”

Both candidates drive the right wing crazy. They offer differing visions, but the wingers are stuck on their imaginary nightmares. Massachusetts is destined to have another "communist" senator.

True-ism Affinity1.

Brown doesn't always stay lock-step with the Republican party, and Warren has a good chance of winning. I predict that if she wins, it will be, in part, attributed to disgust with the Republican Party at the national level.

If Warren unseats Brown we will definitely be hearing about "socialism" and "communism," from the right wing

If Scott Brown gets reelected, we will be hearing the moonbats whine about 'Wall Street money'.

Even though Liz Warren, like Barack Obama, takes big money from wealthy Wall Street cronies.

I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever.’ No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own—nobody.

You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces [sic] that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory—and hire someone to protect against this—because of the work the rest of us did.

Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless—keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.

I was a Hillary supporter. The last thing I want is for the first female president to be Elizabeth Warren. She is divisive and far to left.

lisa, i'm honestly curious...what do you mean by "divisive"? Is it that she stands up for what she believes in? And that there are people who are opposed to those opinions who will demonize her and lie about her?

Is it that she is willing to call out those she feels are responsible for the economic state we find ourselves in?

If that is your definition of divisive, then, yes, she is - and i only hope she becomes more 'divisive'.

Understand, the alternative is that she becomes a nondescript, milquetoast politician.
