Democracy at Dixville Notch: Early NH voting puts Romney on top

It was not a random sample and it will have no predictive value, but a quaint New Hampshire tradition – dating back to 1960 -- was preserved Tuesday just after midnight when voters in two tiny mountain towns, Dixville Notch and Hart’s Location, were the first ones to cast their ballots in the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary.

The winners in midnight democracy in Dixville Notch: Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney, with two votes each; the winner in Harts Location: Romney, with 5 votes. Ron Paul came in close second with 4 votes, followed by Huntsman with 2, according to the Union Leader.

Another 250,000 or so voters are expected to join those early birds by casting their ballots later Tuesday. Polls in the Granite State close at 8pm ET.

In 2008, John McCain won the balloting in Dixville Notch with 4 votes. Mitt Romney finished second with only 2. McCain also won Hart’s Location in 2008, edging Mike Huckabee, 6 votes to 5.

Many of Romney's political thoughts parallel O'bama's logic.

Romney ... the O'bama II man?

Romney would sell off California, Florida and New York, lay off the other 47 states, pocket the money, and scamper. Yeah, he is a true capitalist.

We had a "Rambo" up her in the PNW. He killed an innocent Park Ranger. Then he ran like heck. All the little "Rambo" wannabes said he had the Army survivalist training to hide out for months. Found him next day dead, in a slush puddle. Died of Hypothermia. (to the baggers: that's dead of too much cold)

Guys, real life isn't like Rambo. It's dirtier than that. Get over it.

So by GOP standards, another Presitend Moron that could do more damage then Bush is worth getting President Obama out of office. Why ? Look around, the country is starting to recover. It took President Clinton 8 years to clean up after Bush Sr.. now you want to put a republican in office, to cut off your nose to spite your face ?

I hope you are not comparing President Obama to President Clinton. President Clinton was 10 times the President, Mr. Obama is. If a President could serve more than two terms, I would have voted to re-elect him every time.

That to me, is just more proof most liberals don't actually pay attention to what is really going on.

When will people stop calling him Willard? He has never gone by that name so show some respect. They call him that because it sounds like a smug, rich name. Its wrong for people to emphasize the Hussein in Obama's name and its wrong to call Mitt, Willard. Any supporter of Obama's who doesn't like Obama being called Barack Hussein is hypocritical to call Mitt Romney Willard.

Would Mr. Romney bring Bain Capital employees on in his administration and clean up or clean out federal employees like President Reagan tried to do but be successfull? The USA is similiar to a company ripe for a takeover and downsized to run more efficiently. After all, I think that is what we all want of a candidate. We are tired of perpeptual warfare and base building and no advances on healthcare. Actually the GRIDLOCK for 5-6 years.

So let me understand you Brent, if anyone besides Paul gets the nomination you'll go stomp your feet in anger, mope in some corner for awhile and then cut your heart out wailing because it wasn't your man Paul? Just kidding of course, but you do realize that your apathy and malcontent is exactly what the Obama campaign is hoping for. Just enough people to either abstain from voting or vote for Obama with big a "SO THERE!!" attitude. (see Trevor-1973 below) The only thing you accomplish is getting Obama re-elected. And that would not be good. Please, don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

SouthernBelle: I will not pout or stomp my feet in anger. I will hang my head shaking it from side to side wondering why people are so ignorant and blind.

If Ron Paul does not get the nomination, he will still run as a third party candidate, (Independent or Libertarian). The problem is, the politically biased news companies and the politicians themselves, have most everyone convinced that you have to be a democrat or a republican to win the presidential election. Granted, that is pretty much how it has always been but it does not mean that things can't change and that's what we actually need, a real change in the political world. Ron Paul is the only one that will bring that change.

Liberals and conservatives both seem like the same groups of people to me and both groups really suck. Too bad you party voters will keep things going like they always have. Obama is not a good president, better than Bush Jr. but that is not saying much and Mitt Romney is just another Obama.

                        Ron Paul 2012!
