First Thoughts: Here come the attacks on Romney

Here come the attacks on Romney… McCain’s revealing answer on Arizona and if it’s in play in the general election… Perry’s decision to stay in the race helps Romney… Obama’s recess appointments -- a fight he wants to have with Congress… Santorum raises $1 million after Iowa… Don’t forget about the pro-Santorum Super PAC… Update on the ad spending in NH, SC, and FL… And lots of campaigning in the Granite State today.

*** Here come the attacks on Romney: Unlike past presidential-primary front-runners, Mitt Romney has enjoyed this advantage over the past year: His GOP rivals have largely attacked each other, and have left him alone. Just last week in the lead up to Iowa, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann were blasting Rick Santorum; Perry also went after Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and Santorum for their previous service in Congress; and Jon Huntsman hit Paul over those racially charged newsletters -- all leaving Romney unscathed. (The equivalent would be, in late 2007, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Joe Biden, and Chris Dodd all beating up each other instead of Hillary Clinton, which never happened.) But after Romney’s narrow win in Iowa, and now that Gingrich is looking for revenge, Romney has now become the target of attacks for the first time this campaign season. In fact, the Gingrich camp is now up with this TV ad hitting Romney in New Hampshire and South Carolina. The question becomes: How does Romney handle it?

*** McCain’s revealing answer on Arizona and immigration: Yesterday, one of us interviewed John McCain after he endorsed Romney at an event in New Hampshire. Toward the end of the interview, we asked McCain this question: Is Arizona in play in the general election? And his reaction was especially telling. He paused for a few moments and replied, “I think that if not this election cycle, the demographics are that Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, even Texas will all be in play.” McCain, who was once a principal architect of comprehensive immigration reform but who no longer supports it until the border is secured, added: “We have to fix our problems with the Hispanics.” Where does it start? “It starts with a way to address the issue of immigration in a humane and caring fashion -- at the same time emphasize the need to secure our borders.”

*** Perry’s decision helps Romney: Make no mistake: Rick Perry’s decision to stay in the presidential contest and campaign in South Carolina -- despite his fifth-place finish in Iowa (where he spent more than $4 million on TV ads) -- greatly helps Romney’s campaign. Why? Because it potentially splits up the conservative/Tea Party/evangelical vote. If both Bachmann and Perry had bowed out, that vote would probably go to either Santorum or Gingrich. In addition, it's -- shall we say -- interesting that Perry's decision surprised many of his own staff. Why the change of heart? Did Bachmann's withdrawal do it?

*** The fight Obama wants: As far as President Obama’s recess appointments yesterday, it is absolutely clear that he and his team want a fight with Congress -- and any legal challenge that comes with it. And they've made it clear if they don't currently HAVE a dispute with Congress, they are happy to pick a fight. And this fight, over the Consumer Protection board, has the added benefit of creating an "us vs. them" middle class narrative. After Obama made his recess appointment of Richard Cordray official, the Romney campaign fired off this press release: “This action represents Chicago-style politics at its worst and is precisely what then-Senator Obama claimed would be ‘the wrong thing to do.’ Sadly, instead of focusing on economic growth, he is once again focusing on creating more regulation, more government, and more Washington gridlock.” But the Obama campaign fired back with this: “By opposing the appointment of Richard Cordray to run the first-ever consumer watchdog bureau, Mitt Romney today stood with predatory lenders and Republicans in Congress over the middle class.”  By the way, given the speed of the Obama campaign response, it's another sign that the Obama campaign is already focusing on the person they believe will be their general election opponent.

*** Santorum raises $1 million after Iowa: Turning back to the GOP presidential contest, Santorum has raised $1 million since his narrow second-place finish in Iowa, a campaign staffer confirmed to NBC’s Andrew Rafferty last night. Can they keep it up?

*** Don’t forget about the pro-Santorum Super PAC: While the pro-Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future has received much attention -- and deservedly so -- for the impact that it played in Iowa, it’s worth pointing out the role that the pro-Santorum Red, White, and Blue Fund had as well. Although Santorum spent a mere $23,000 in advertising in the Hawkeye State, the Red, White, and Blue Fund spent $530,000 there. That’s not a small chunk of change. And organizers say it’s planning to start advertising in South Carolina. Meanwhile, NBC’s Michael Isikoff reports that the conservative investor Foster Freiss, is one of the principal backers of this pro-Santorum Super PAC. He declined to give precise figures on how much he has donated (“I don't dare let my wife know that," he joked), but said he wouldn’t object to a report that he was the major financial backer of the political action committee.

*** Update on the ad spending: By the way, here’s where things currently stand in the early-state advertising battle:
New Hampshire
: Our Destiny PAC (pro-Huntsman) $1.8 million, Paul $1.5 million, Romney $1 million, Perry $234,000, Santorum $30,000.
South Carolina
: Make Us Great Again $1.8 million, Romney $555,000, Perry $220,000, Paul $219,000, Restore Our Future $147,000, Santorum $12,000
Florida
: Romney $823,000, Restore Our Future $790,000

*** On the trail: With five days to go until the New Hampshire primary, most of the action is in the Granite State: Santorum has events in Manchester, Northfield, Tilton, and Windham… Gingrich hits Plymouth, Littleton, Lancaster, and Meredith… Huntsman is in Hampton, Durham, Portsmouth, and Newport… And Romney begins his day in Salem before heading to Charleston, SC, where he holds an event with Gov. Nikki Haley and brand-new endorser John McCain.

*** DNC hits Romney: And with McCain once again stumping with Romney, the DNC has a new web video cataloging all of the instances from the 2008 when McCain criticized Romney for being a flip-flopper. The video asks, “Which Mitt is he endorsing?

Countdown to New Hampshire primary: 5 days
Countdown to South Carolina primary: 16 days
Countdown to Florida primary: 26 days
Countdown to Nevada caucuses: 30 days
Countdown to Super Tuesday: 61 days
Countdown to Election Day: 306 days

The only reason Obama is the President of the United States is because someone wanted to make bloody history.

I think they picked a bad time to make this kind of history because soon we won't have any history.

The next President looks like he will close the deal and finish up all the bloody history in one huge mushroom cloud.

This election fraud has to stop before it stops us.

We are heading for a major bloody war and these fools want to make sure they have the right tool in the oval office to press the button.

The only reason Obama is the President of the United States is because someone wanted to make bloody history.

No -- he's President of the United States because the people voted him into office. The ones wanting to take away rights are teatards like you. If you don't like the fact he's president, stop your whining, get off your ass and WORK to elect somebody else.

Golly, Charlie. Why aren't you listening to the guru above? The caucus was an election fraud--of course, there was no election, but don't bother him with details. There is going to be a "bloody war", though he doesn't specify the combatants. (You know, I can remember these rants all the way back to the fifties, and the war never quite happens.)

The Hitler Factor: Is It Fair To Compare?

        By Roberts, M. E.

Since World War II there have been many political candidates who have been compared to the likeness of Adolph Hitler. This was the case for George Bush, Al Gore, and both Bill and Hillary Clinton; to name a few. Try as we might to modify graphic images to resemble the physical appearance of Hitler, any attempt to make a genuine comparison using these pictures crumbles when we face the ugly truth about Adolph Hitler's personality and actions.

Some have attempted to make the comparison of Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler. This kind of thing has been done so many times before that people no longer think it credible. The shock value is gone and people almost expect such comparisons to be made during the election campaigns. The smear attempt which aims to anger supporters hardly gives them cause to raise an eyebrow.

This situation of being resistant to the "Hitler Factor" could eventually become a dangerous thing for the voting public of any country. How would citizens recognize another Hitler-type politician in the future if they have become resistant to the idea of making the comparison? If citizens are accustomed to instantly rejecting any comparison of a candidate to Hitler, will they be able to apply the lessons of history in order to prevent electing another one like him in the future?

What is it about Hitler we should remember so as to prevent electing another similar candidate who appears to be following in his footsteps? Many believe Adolph Hitler had Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), which is a documented mental disorder. People who have NPD have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings.1 It is not hard to see these traits when we view images or videos of Adolph Hitler.

In the general population only 0.5-1% of people are thought to have NPD2, although many will remain undiagnosed and untreated for their entire lives. People may interpret lower levels of expressed narcissism as mere conceitedness, selfishness, or arrogance.
Given narcissism is centered around the idea of self-importance and the need for adoration from others, it should be no surprise to find narcissists are often attracted to those things which feed their emotional needs for recognition and adoration. They may, for example, pursue careers as movie stars or politicians in order to gain elevated social status and popularity. Nothing screams "elite" and "fame" like celebrities and politicians attending red carpet events.

Rarely do the minor expression of narcissism cause any real damage to anyone, but in a position of influence things can go awry very quickly for someone with a severe case of NPD. Adolph Hitler showed us just how bad things can get under that kind of leadership.

What exactly causes NPD? One expert and author by the name of Dr. Shmuel Vaknin offers the following explanation, "The onset of pathological narcissism is in infancy, childhood and early adolescence. It is commonly attributed to childhood abuse and trauma inflicted by parents, authority figures, or even peers. Pathological narcissism is a defense mechanism intended to deflect hurt and trauma from the victim's "True Self" into a "False Self" which is omnipotent, invulnerable, and omniscient."3

It must be said here nearly all children are born with narcissist traits and Sigmund Freud believed that to be normal.4 However, the development of NPD as a pathological disorder is thought to be rooted in childhood neglect and abuse. Adolph Hitler certainly had a qualifying childhood which would have contributed to the development of NPD.

Adolph Hitler was born to a communist father who worked as a government employee who had several other children with multiple women. His father was considerably older than his mother and they conceived their famous son prior to getting married. His father was not interested in child-rearing, abused alcohol, and the future German leader would reside in several different residences in his early years. The young boy felt alienated from his father. He would attend several different schools, including a catholic school run by strict priests and nuns.

A teacher would later describe Adolph using these words, "... reacted with ill-concealed hostility to advice or reproof; at the same time, he demanded of his fellow pupils their unqualified subservience, fancying himself in the role of leader, at the same time indulging in many a less innocuous prank of a kind not uncommon among immature youths."5

If there were no bias against the name "Adolph Hitler" one might actually feel sorry for this young boy who grew up in such a dysfunctional family and knew so much instability, turmoil, and sorrow. It should come as no surprise how someone like Adolph could develop pathological NPD as a means of deflecting years of emotional trauma. He clearly had a childhood which could have contributed to the development of NPD. Given the comment of his teacher in later years it is clear Adolph was exhibiting signs of having NPD (see definition in the last paragraph of page one).

As a self-defense mechanism, Adolph imagined himself to be all-powerful and invincible, but that was contrary to his true personality as "nervous and awkward".6 The fantasy aspect of his invincible "False Self" was becoming deeply rooted in his mind and even overshadowing the personality traits of Hitler's "True Self". Eventually, Hitler wouldn't be able to separate fantasy from reality and Hitler's "False Self" would totally convince him that he could conquer the world.

So, in getting back to the comparison of Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler, one could say there are some similarities. However, there are perhaps hundreds of thousands of children who share some of these similarities. Having a childhood similar to Hitler does
not mean a person will grow up to develop NPD, as only 1% of the general population would do so.

Like Adolph Hitler, Barack Obama was born to a communist father who worked as a government employee who had several other children with multiple women. His father was considerably older than his mother and they conceived their famous son prior to getting married. His father was not interested in child-rearing, abused alcohol, and the future leader would reside in several different residences in his early years. The young boy felt alienated from his father. He would attend several different schools, including a catholic school run by strict priests and nuns.

He was described by peers who would later say, "He used to be a naughty boy particularly among his female seniors. Once he destroyed the school's fence which made from bamboos.' 'In a creative writing lesson, other students said that they wanted to be a doctor or pilot, but Barry claimed that he wanted to be a president."7 His childhood friend, Keith Kakugawa said, "He is such a people person now, it's really amazing because he was a very, very shy -- I wouldn't say introverted -- but he was just a very shy, cautious kid".8

Unlike Hitler, Obama did not experience the death of his father at the age of thirteen. However, Barack Obama did see his father alive for the final time at the young age of only ten. It does seem many things about Obama's early years are quite similar to those found in Hitler's childhood. Barack Obama had no control over these matters so there is not a single person who would dare hold these things against him. However, we must also understand that Obama was affected by these experiences. It is, therefore, possible that Barack Obama, like 1% of the general population, could have dealt with those emotional issues by developing NPD. According to the comment of his teacher and childhood friend, it appears he was expressing signs which are associated with NPD. Both Hitler and Obama were considered to be shy/awkward while also desiring power.

However, it must be clarified at this point that neither Hitler nor Obama were officially diagnosed as having NPD. Suspicions can arise as a result of observing their behavior, but conclusions would nevertheless remain inconclusive. The best we can do is to compare the history, behavior, and interests of Hitler to see if a political candidate followed a similar path. Merely having a childhood which is similar to that of Hitler is not sufficient to make a comparison. We all know how Hitler turned out, so we should be wary of someone who had similar childhood experiences, seems to show signs of having NPD, has similar interests and ideas, and appears to be retracing Hitler's footsteps.

So what are Adolph Hitler's historical footsteps?

At the age of 35 Adolph Hitler would write a book called, "Mein Kampf" (translated as "My Struggle"). It would be an autobiography containing insights pertaining to his early years, political ideas, and thoughts on race.

At the age of 34 Barack Obama would write a book called, "Dreams of my Father", also an autobiography highlighting his early years, political ideas, and thoughts on race.

Hitler's "Zweites Buch" (translated as "Second Book") contains a deeper understanding of his political ideas. The same can also be said about Obama's second book, "The Audacity of Hope".

Both Hitler and Obama used their books as a springboard to further their political careers. The title of Obama's second book was based on a sermon of Reverend Wright and was the foundational basis of the speech he gave at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. It was that speech which caught the attention of the media and the public, both of whom propelled him to political stardom. He further expounded on those ideas to publish his second book in 2006, just before announcing his run for the Presidency. The book was on the New York Times best-seller list for 30 weeks.

Ok, so they have a similar childhood and they both wrote two books around similar themes. So what? Well, we suspected both might have had NPD too. Let's talk a little more about NPD to see if there is really a connection to be concerned about here.
Criteria for narcissistic personality disorder to be diagnosed include9:

1.Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance
2.Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power or beauty
3.Believing that you are special and can associate only with equally special people
        4.Requiring constant admiration
        5.Having a sense of entitlement
        6.Taking advantage of others
7.Inability to recognize needs and feelings of others
        8.Being envious of others
9.Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner
I would be willing to speculate that a person who feels the need to write an autobiography in their mid-thirties might be entertaining an exaggerated sense of self-importance. Both Hitler and Obama felt their life was worth documenting for the public even before either had started their political careers.

As mentioned earlier, both Hitler and Obama were described by others as being shy or awkward children with dreams of being in powerful positions of leadership. Both followed that dream, perhaps because they were preoccupied with fantasies about success and power?

As I go down the list of nine NPD criteria I can see a number of them which could be applied to both Obama and Hitler. This should be a concern because we know the outcome in Hitler's case, but we don't really know all that much about Barack Obama. He hasn't released the vault copy of his birth certificate, records of his activity logs while in the Illinois State Senate, SAT scores, college transcripts, thesis paper, medical records, tax returns, list of clients he worked for as a lawyer, etc. Like Hitler, Obama has distanced himself even from childhood friends10 (see below right), not to mention other controversial associates such as William Ayers, Reverend Wright, Tony Rezko, Frank Marshall Davis, etc.

Without full transparency people must look at documented history and recorded actions to learn what this man is all about. Does Obama hold the same or similar convictions and/or associations as Hitler?

Ok, so they have a similar childhood, show some signs of having NPD, wrote similar books at the same age, pursued a career in politics, respect many of the same radical political ideas, have similar associations in their relationships; but we are talking about two totally different time periods in history. Yes, that is true, but you may be surprised to know the signs of the times today are very similar to those in Hitler's era.

At the time Hitler was rising to power after WWI, Germany had a bad reputation in the eyes of the world. The actions of the country were seen as an act of dishonesty, betrayal, treachery and a war crime. Hitler promised to correct this. Americans are also seen in similar ways for the way we justified and proceeded with an invasion of Iraq. Barack Obama has promised to correct this.

The Germans felt deceived and humiliated after WWI and had just entered into the Great Depression. Hitler capitalized on this feeling by offering hope and change. Americans also feel deceived and humiliated by their own government which allowed the current financial crisis to happen, followed by their passage of a $700 billion bailout plan. Americans have just experienced the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and Obama is also capitalizing on this feeling by offering hope and change.

There was weakness in the ineffective German Constitution which angered many German citizens while few freedom-fighters remained to resist change. Hitler was seen as one who would resolve Constitutional issues while being capable of dealing with resistance. Many Americans have a few problems with the U.S. Constitution, namely the Second Amendment. Obama offers a solution which claims to respect tradition while also allowing for gun-control laws. He will have to deal with those who resist infringement on Second Amendment rights.

The financial contributions of private supporters enabled Hitler to fund his campaign. The same can be said of Obama, for he has collected record-breaking funds from private donors.

Hitler promised something to everyone, just as Obama is doing today.

The Nazi propaganda machine convinced people Hitler was their last hope. In a similar way, the media is supporting the idea Obama represents the only hope for change from the policies of President Bush.

Hitler was an excellent orator, community organizer, and politician who could motivate and inspire huge crowds. His self-confidence was instrumental in convincing voters to elect him. The public viewed him as their savior. The same can be said of Obama11.
Hitler realized there was strength to be found in the young. Hitler Youth were extremely dedicated and instrumental to his success. I am sure we have all heard about the Obama Kids singing songs of praise to their leader. Obama's own website offers the following encouragement for youngsters to get involved in his campaign:

"Do you feel like you want to get involved in the political process but you don't know how? Do you feel like there's something important coming up in the Presidential elections? Get involved in KIDS FOR OBAMA! Studies have shown that kids can affect their parents and their siblings' opinions and even change the opinions of older family members . . . including those of voting age. Are you still with me? Great, Let's get started!" (http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/kidskit)

Beyond children, Obama is receiving an incredible amount of support from college students and young adults.

Hitler held extremely leftist ideals. Barack Obama has been called one of the most liberal Senators in Congress12.

Obama and Hitler can even be compared on having similar preferences, such as their desire to give their major speeches against a backdrop of Greek-style temples.

Where Hitler gave a speech in Vienna, Austria, March 1938 (above left)
Hitler giving a speech, date unknown (above right)
Where Obama accepted the nomination in Denver, Colorado, August 2008 (below left)
Where Obama announced Biden as his running mate in Springfield, IL (below right)

"Obama is the hope of the entire world." - Louis Farrakhan
"Hitler was a very great man." - Louis Farrakhan

Barack Obama is fully aware the nation's problems are helping pave the way for him to be President. His poll ratings went through the roof during the bailout mess, so he obviously wants to talk more about the economy to make even more political gains. On October 22, 2008, Obama gave a speech in Virginia which included the statement, "I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here." He may not be able to fully explain why he is having such great success in his campaign, but I'm not entirely convinced "righteous" was the appropriate word to use since it taps into religious overtones. Like Obama, Hitler claimed to be a Christian too, but I doubt anyone would believe his election success was a result of divine influence or intervention. The fact of the matter is both Obama and Hitler have the right qualities and message which influenced the right people in just the right way at just the right time. The question is: What will they do when elected?

We need to be cautious when we see historical experiences, thought processes, behavior patterns, courses of action, belief structures, personality traits, and career goals in a candidate which are found to be strikingly similar to those of Hitler. Combined with lack of transparency we have a serious red flag waving before us. We absolutely cannot afford to be wrong about this. With 12 million total deaths, the holocaust was simply too tragic for anyone to allow it to happen again. It might hurt our pride to vote for another candidate, any other candidate, when we want to pull that lever for our beloved candidate so badly. He seems so promising! Yet, so did Hitler. We would suffer much worse if that candidate proved to be something we never anticipated. I can only imagine how many Germans eventually came to regret casting a vote for Hitler.

This article was written as a reminder we need to continue being wise in judgment and unafraid to make comparisons when necessary. Turning a blind eye and responding with anger in defense of our preferred candidate can be quite dangerous. Some might choose to insist Obama would not be one who would take us through another holocaust. Indeed, they may be right, but few can deny the many similarities between Obama and Hitler. I would rather not take the chance of being proven wrong later on in life. I, for one, will always consider "The Hitler Factor" when choosing which candidate will receive my vote and hope others will do the same so we may always learn from our past mistakes.

Lesson to be learned here..."If you can't compare a politician to Hitler, you may have to actually analyze his performance, which is a nuanced and difficult thing to do. Let's try to convince ourselves that pre-war Germany's 40000% inflation and 30% plus unemployment is just like 2008!"

Time2ChangesThings - Actually everything you just printed can apply to George Bush, plus Obama had a loving mother whereas Bush's mother favored Jeb - I guess that's why little Georgie took to blowing up frogs with firecrackers as a child

Now to Obama recruiting children, I'm hardly a child nor is my husband or my children , all adults

If you want to quote from the GOEBBELS sans MACHIAVELLI handbook - say a lie often enough and the masses will believe you fine but the Republicans use this tact via Karl Rove all the time so they must be following Adolph Hitler?

All I can say about your rant is delusional!

Ever notice how hypocritical Republicans become whenever they get outsmarted by political opponents? Or how they engage in tortured analysis of the US Constitution (a document they hardly understand other than the 2d Amendment right to bear arms) in order to justify their inane logic? Or how they make up facts from whole cloth or twist them to claim that President Obama has gone rogue and done something NO OTHER PRESIDENT HAS DONE IN HISTORY?

So now their argument is as follows: Recess appointments made by the Democratic president during Congress’ short intrasession recesses are unconstitutional because Congress is not really in “recess” as that term is defined in the Constitution, specifically, Article I, Section 5, Clause 4. To support its gimmickry, the House leadership will appoint one of its members to gavel a “session” open every couple of days, followed by a quick prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and then gavel the “session” closed almost immediately thereafter. None of the people’s business is conducted during the 3 minutes or less that the House remained in “session”. So, the argument goes, a recess appointment cannot be made since Congress is not in recess. (Even though we all know that the Senate and House members have retreated to their hovels, hamlets and insider-trading palaces and are partying their asses off for the duration with hardly any intention of returning to Washington to do ANYTHING meaningful)!

(For those Republicans and Baggas with Short-Term Memories Who Simply Won’t Let Facts Temper Their Frothy Faux Rage):

Fact 1: Bush’s intrasession appointment of William Pryor to the federal appeals court similarly outraged Democrats including Ted Kennedy who filed an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit challenging the Constitutionality of the appointment. The 11th Circuit ultimately rejected the challenge and ruled that (and this is a direct quote for you Baggas who like to challenge the authenticity of facts and all things reasonable), the Constitution

does not establish a minimum time that an authorized break in the Senate must last to give legal force to the President’s appointment power under the Recess Appointments Clause.

The Supreme Court refused to take up the case and that opinion in the 11th Circuit is still good law today!

Fact 2: As recent as 2010, two of Bush’s former DOJ deputies argued that “the use of pro forma sessions to block Recess Appointments was improper.” (Oh wow, Republicans with mental acuity--such a rare commodity in the modern day GOP dominated by rabid, partisan ignoramuses).

Fact 3: Just because this gimmick exists doesn’t change the fact that Congress is not conducting any business whatsoever during these sham “sessions”. In fact, the resolution that gave rise to their existence explicitly says that no business shall be conducted during the “session”.

So, a Congress with the worst favorability rating ever, that has been rendered largely ineffective through Republican filibuster and Tea Baggery now wants to claim through Republican surrogates (including Mr. Flip-Flopper himself) that it’s technical session during which it conducts no business should effectively trump the President’s Recess Appointment authority. And that the President’s exercise of that Executive power expressly granted by the Constitution to carry out a law of the land to protect its citizens and consumers from abuse should be held hostage once again by the Bagga fools.

Oh yeah? I say bring it on!

The only problem with your argument is that both houses of congress MUST agree to be in recess, which they did not. Reid just got the senate to pass a 2 month bill and left and refused to call them back. Then Obama, the Consitutional "teacher" of Harvard made his recess appointments. Congress was not in recess. If the speaker has any balls, he would start the impeachment process.

Of course, even if Congress impeaches Obama, that doe snot mean he will have to leave office because the Senate would have to convict him on those impeachment charges and we all know a Dem controlled Senate will not. Ask Bill Clinton.

                #132.2 - Thu Jan 5, 2012 3:13 PM EST

Let's start the impeachment process sonman. Bring it! Your Republican lummoxes are hardwired not to know when to call it quits. So we'll see just how receptive America will be to the over-reach impeachment originated by a do-nothing Congress comprised of a Republican-led House and an ineffective, Republican, filibuster-happy Senate. Oh yeah, that will go over just nicely--a Congress focused on an impeachment proceeding based on a trumped-up, unconstitutional BS argument previously dismissed under Bush while America struggles to get back on firm financial footing! Typical Bagga, S-F-B logic!

The 2008 election, in which the con-man Obama fooled most of the U.S. public, revealed that many American citizens are as intellectually and morally debased as the Germans in the 1930s. Such incompetence and ignorance always lead to tyranny. The United States is exactly at the same point in national degradation as the German nation in the 1930s when Hitler assumed absolute power and began his regime of mass murder and war crimes against the people of the world.

We've been conditioned to see Germany under Hitler as an unquestionably horrible example of dictatorial tyranny and inhuman barbarity--and to see our present American culture as completely opposite to that of Nazi Germany. And we like to think that if a tyranny such as that in Germany under the Nazi regime were present and growing in America we'd unquestionably be able to see it.

So it's a shock when we realize: most people living in Nazi Germany didn't see the tyranny! They thought it was the best time of their lives!

…. and once again, the only mention of Ron Paul on MSNBC is the “racially charged newsletter” from twenty years ago.

Nothing about Congrssman Paul’s non-interventionist stance against foreign war. A war in Iran will require a reinstatement of the draft, cost countless American lives, and waste TRILLIONS of dollars. And yet, every other candidate, if elected, would virtually guarantee World War III.

Nothing about Congressman Paul’s strict adherence to the Constitution and the ideals of freedom, justice and equality for all. And yet, every other front-running candidate, if elected, would deny Constitutional rights to minority groups in America.

Congressman Paul should be jubilant over his showing in Iowa – a state where the Republican party is controlled by the unAmerican Christian Evangelicals.

When are Republicans going to wake up and realize that the ONLY chance we have against President Obama… is Congressman Ron Paul. All the other candidates are clones of the current President and there is no way the key demographic groups of Independents and young voters will vote for any other Republican candidate over President Obama. We didn’t in 2008 and we won’t in 2012.

                        Your Black Politics reports:

When asked his interpretation of a recent Pew poll that shows that 40 percent of Americans blame the state of the economy on Republicans, Rep. Allen West, never afraid to make incendiary comments, said that the Nazi Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, would be proud of the Democrats, especially, President Barack Obama:

"…let's be very honest," said West. "You have the president, who has an incredible megaphone and a platform, and he has people all across this country believing that the only people on Capitol Hill are House Republicans. He's not talking anything about his controlled Senate. So, it's a great propaganda machine. And I have to give him kudos for being able to leverage that."

"If Joseph Goebbels was around, he'd be very proud of the Democrat Party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine," West continued speaking with reporters during House votes Thursday afternoon. "Let's be honest, you know, some of the people in the media are complicit with this and enabling them to get that type of message out."

According to the Pew poll, 40 percent of Americans believe the 112th Congress has accomplished less than other congresses --- and blame Republicans for the problems. Fifty-three percent believe Republicans held "more extreme" policy positions than Democrats, and believe that Democrats are more willing to cross the aisle and work with conservatives to get the job done.

Refusing to back down from his comparison of Obama to a man spinning the truth to further the murderous agenda of a terrorist regime, West said that he was prepared for the backlash that his statement would cause:

"Once again, you guys will take whatever I say, and you will spin it to try to demonize me and demagogue me," West told reporters. "What I'm talking about is a person that was the minister of propaganda, and I'm talking about propaganda. I'll be prepared to wake up tomorrow and you guys make up some crazy story; whatever."

                          @American Girl,

Congressman Ron Paul was one of only SIX House Republicans to vote against the War in Iraq.

America's National Defense of our interests in the Middle East has been weakened immeasurably thanks to the ousting of Saddam Hussein.

Therefore, your point makes no sense at all.

Also, that more powers be returned to the states. This would stop alot of this fighting. However, the truth is liberals want the power to tell you and I what to do.

Red, White and Angry: Communist, Nazi parties endorse 'Occupy' protests
                                    By David Martosko Published: 12:31 AM 10/17/2011 | Updated: 4:28 PM 10/17/2011

In a move that may redefine the term "strange bedfellows," the American Nazi Party issued an official endorsement of the Occupy Wall Street protest movement on Sunday afternoon. The announcement put the organization, a self-described "National Socialist" political party, in company with the Socialist Party USA, which explained its own support for the left-wing protesters in a nationwide conference call last Tuesday night, crediting organized labor with the protests' strength and sophistication to date.

The American Nazi Party is the most politically sophisticated U.S. remnant — but by no means the only one — of white supremacist Adolph Hitler's murderous 20th century movement, which sought to establish socialism for Aryans, and to subjugate non-Aryans. The party calls Hitler's Mein Kampf "an ideological blueprint for healthy Aryan survival."

In its statement on Sunday, the Westland, Mich.-based Nazi party wrote that the Occupy Wall Street protests are "TAYLOR [sic] MADE for National Socialists, as well as WN [White Nationalists] who are serious about DOING SOMETHING."

"I urgently URGE all of you," the statement's unnamed author added, "to TAKE PART and JOIN IN when these protests hit your neck of the woods. Produce some flyers EXPLAINING the 'JEW BANKER' influence — DON'T wear anything marking you as an 'evil racist' — and GET OUT THERE and SPREAD the WORD!"

While Nazis seem unenthusiastic about visibly linking their flagship organization to the vocal protests that have popped up in dozens of U.S. cities, the same can't be said of the Communist Party USA.

John Bachtell, an Illinois-based community organizer and Communist Party USA board member, addressed the "Occupy Chicago" protest on Saturday.

"I bring greetings and solidarity from the Communist Party," Bachtell said to hoots and applause. "We are here, marching side-by-side. We'll sleep here. We'll be with this movement 'til the very – 'til we make all the changes that we know we have to make."

Since a few of the racists and bigots that post here ranted about illegals, I thought that I would post some documented facts from both progressive and conservative sources.

But then again since the facts don't agree with their beliefs, they must be wrong.

Myth #1: Undocumented immigrants come to the United States to get welfare.Undocumented men come to the United States almost exclusively to work. Over 90 percent of undocumented men worked—a rate higher than that for U.S. citizens or legal immigrants. Undocumented men are younger, less likely to be in school, and less likely to be retired than other men. Moreover, undocumented immigrants are NOT eligible for welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, and other public benefits. About 72% pay into the system, including federal income taxes (withheld by employer), State taxes, Social Security and medicare (withheld by employer), etc, but receive no benefits from their contribution.

Myth #2: Undocumented immigrants all crossed the Mexican border. Between 60 and 75 percent of the more than 10 million undocumented immigrants entered illegally and withoutinspection—mostly across the Mexican border. The other 25 to 40 percent entered legally and subsequently overstayed visas or otherwise violated the terms of their admission.

Myth #3: Undocumented immigrants are all single men. Over 40 percent of undocumented adults are women, and the majority (54 percent) of undocumented men live in married couples or other families. Fewer than half of undocumented men are single and unattached.

Myth #4: Most children of the undocumented are unauthorized. In fact, two-thirds of all children with undocumented parents (about 3 million) are U.S.-born citizens who live in mixed-status families. Other words one parent is legal.

Myth #5: A large share of schoolchildren are undocumented. Nationally in 2010, only 1.5 percent of elementary schoolchildren (enrolled in kindergarten through 5th grade) and 3 percent of secondary children (grades 6– 12) were undocumented. Slightly higher shares—5 percent in elementary and 4 percent in secondary schools—had undocumented parents.

Myth #6: Undocumented immigrants do not pay taxes. Undocumented immigrants pay the same real estate taxes—whether they own homes or taxes are passed through to rents—and the same sales and other consumption taxes as everyone else. The majority of state and local costs of schooling and other services are funded by these taxes. Additionally, the U.S. Social Security Administration has estimated that three quarters of undocumented immigrants pay payroll taxes, and that they contribute $6–7 billion in Social Security funds that they will be unable to claim.

The Boeing co. leaving and/or threatening to leave an area is the normal way of big corp. now and is caused by the the states who are attempting to lure business into their respective states. The states in question offer tax exemptions and monetary rewards if the comp. will re-settle in their respective state. Big business has one major aim and that is the profit motive. The excessive bonuses of the c.e.os, have created this make us a better offer condition through-out the country. These companies don't have any loyalty to anything except the bottom line. The politicians are to blame by allowing these companies to avoid their taxing responsibilities .

Romney reminds me of Woody in Toy Story.. with one exception. Woody at least sounded genuine, and had some passion in his voice. Mitt sounds like he's reading from a script... saying anything and everything that he knows you want to hear to get you to vote for him. His voice is dead... no passion in what he says. Boring to the point of GRRRRRR!!!! He has no clue of what he's doing and it shows every damned time he opens his mouth! Vote for him if you like, but I wouldn't want this idiot to be my garbage man!

If the private sector starts recovering on its own before the election as it appears to be doing, what reason would there be for Romney to be the nominee particularly with all his flip-flops? Perhaps Perry thinks that if he stays in, Gingrich and Romney will hurt each other; Santorum won't go very far with his social conservatism and apparently not a fiscal conservative based on his record; Huntsman and Perry are family friends; and Ron Paul knows he won't win a general election and might just throw his support to a fellow Texan. I think Perry could be the benefactor from all of the above. While Perry may not be the most verbal person, he has a great personal story, served in the military and a record of working with both sides and the executive experience. Let's hope that the media doesn't destroy him in everyone's eyes. I wonder why the liberal media is so anxious to do that????
