First Thoughts: Here come the attacks on Romney

Here come the attacks on Romney… McCain’s revealing answer on Arizona and if it’s in play in the general election… Perry’s decision to stay in the race helps Romney… Obama’s recess appointments -- a fight he wants to have with Congress… Santorum raises $1 million after Iowa… Don’t forget about the pro-Santorum Super PAC… Update on the ad spending in NH, SC, and FL… And lots of campaigning in the Granite State today.

*** Here come the attacks on Romney: Unlike past presidential-primary front-runners, Mitt Romney has enjoyed this advantage over the past year: His GOP rivals have largely attacked each other, and have left him alone. Just last week in the lead up to Iowa, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann were blasting Rick Santorum; Perry also went after Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and Santorum for their previous service in Congress; and Jon Huntsman hit Paul over those racially charged newsletters -- all leaving Romney unscathed. (The equivalent would be, in late 2007, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Joe Biden, and Chris Dodd all beating up each other instead of Hillary Clinton, which never happened.) But after Romney’s narrow win in Iowa, and now that Gingrich is looking for revenge, Romney has now become the target of attacks for the first time this campaign season. In fact, the Gingrich camp is now up with this TV ad hitting Romney in New Hampshire and South Carolina. The question becomes: How does Romney handle it?

*** McCain’s revealing answer on Arizona and immigration: Yesterday, one of us interviewed John McCain after he endorsed Romney at an event in New Hampshire. Toward the end of the interview, we asked McCain this question: Is Arizona in play in the general election? And his reaction was especially telling. He paused for a few moments and replied, “I think that if not this election cycle, the demographics are that Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, even Texas will all be in play.” McCain, who was once a principal architect of comprehensive immigration reform but who no longer supports it until the border is secured, added: “We have to fix our problems with the Hispanics.” Where does it start? “It starts with a way to address the issue of immigration in a humane and caring fashion -- at the same time emphasize the need to secure our borders.”

*** Perry’s decision helps Romney: Make no mistake: Rick Perry’s decision to stay in the presidential contest and campaign in South Carolina -- despite his fifth-place finish in Iowa (where he spent more than $4 million on TV ads) -- greatly helps Romney’s campaign. Why? Because it potentially splits up the conservative/Tea Party/evangelical vote. If both Bachmann and Perry had bowed out, that vote would probably go to either Santorum or Gingrich. In addition, it's -- shall we say -- interesting that Perry's decision surprised many of his own staff. Why the change of heart? Did Bachmann's withdrawal do it?

*** The fight Obama wants: As far as President Obama’s recess appointments yesterday, it is absolutely clear that he and his team want a fight with Congress -- and any legal challenge that comes with it. And they've made it clear if they don't currently HAVE a dispute with Congress, they are happy to pick a fight. And this fight, over the Consumer Protection board, has the added benefit of creating an "us vs. them" middle class narrative. After Obama made his recess appointment of Richard Cordray official, the Romney campaign fired off this press release: “This action represents Chicago-style politics at its worst and is precisely what then-Senator Obama claimed would be ‘the wrong thing to do.’ Sadly, instead of focusing on economic growth, he is once again focusing on creating more regulation, more government, and more Washington gridlock.” But the Obama campaign fired back with this: “By opposing the appointment of Richard Cordray to run the first-ever consumer watchdog bureau, Mitt Romney today stood with predatory lenders and Republicans in Congress over the middle class.”  By the way, given the speed of the Obama campaign response, it's another sign that the Obama campaign is already focusing on the person they believe will be their general election opponent.

*** Santorum raises $1 million after Iowa: Turning back to the GOP presidential contest, Santorum has raised $1 million since his narrow second-place finish in Iowa, a campaign staffer confirmed to NBC’s Andrew Rafferty last night. Can they keep it up?

*** Don’t forget about the pro-Santorum Super PAC: While the pro-Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future has received much attention -- and deservedly so -- for the impact that it played in Iowa, it’s worth pointing out the role that the pro-Santorum Red, White, and Blue Fund had as well. Although Santorum spent a mere $23,000 in advertising in the Hawkeye State, the Red, White, and Blue Fund spent $530,000 there. That’s not a small chunk of change. And organizers say it’s planning to start advertising in South Carolina. Meanwhile, NBC’s Michael Isikoff reports that the conservative investor Foster Freiss, is one of the principal backers of this pro-Santorum Super PAC. He declined to give precise figures on how much he has donated (“I don't dare let my wife know that," he joked), but said he wouldn’t object to a report that he was the major financial backer of the political action committee.

*** Update on the ad spending: By the way, here’s where things currently stand in the early-state advertising battle:
New Hampshire
: Our Destiny PAC (pro-Huntsman) $1.8 million, Paul $1.5 million, Romney $1 million, Perry $234,000, Santorum $30,000.
South Carolina
: Make Us Great Again $1.8 million, Romney $555,000, Perry $220,000, Paul $219,000, Restore Our Future $147,000, Santorum $12,000
Florida
: Romney $823,000, Restore Our Future $790,000

*** On the trail: With five days to go until the New Hampshire primary, most of the action is in the Granite State: Santorum has events in Manchester, Northfield, Tilton, and Windham… Gingrich hits Plymouth, Littleton, Lancaster, and Meredith… Huntsman is in Hampton, Durham, Portsmouth, and Newport… And Romney begins his day in Salem before heading to Charleston, SC, where he holds an event with Gov. Nikki Haley and brand-new endorser John McCain.

*** DNC hits Romney: And with McCain once again stumping with Romney, the DNC has a new web video cataloging all of the instances from the 2008 when McCain criticized Romney for being a flip-flopper. The video asks, “Which Mitt is he endorsing?

Countdown to New Hampshire primary: 5 days
Countdown to South Carolina primary: 16 days
Countdown to Florida primary: 26 days
Countdown to Nevada caucuses: 30 days
Countdown to Super Tuesday: 61 days
Countdown to Election Day: 306 days

Romney knows if Perry quits, with Bachmann already gone, it will leave 15% for the top conservative in second place. That will guarantee a Romney defeat. I don't doubt Romney has made a deal with Perry to stay in exchange for a VP spot.

does ANYONE notice whenyou dont agree with the brainwasher koolaide drinking left what you are a dumbA$$ and a f88king idiot...???

Becasue they have no arguement....the fact is: OBAMA is running america (or amerika) and assuming more and more power, putting more and more pupputs aka TSARs into power, creating more and more agencies, whilst controlling more and more media aka propaganda all outside the boundries of the Constitution, in a quest for totalitarian rule??? Hitler for the good of his people, declared himself president and chancellor aka fuhrer...

After Hitlers' appointment as Reichskanzler (Chancellor of the Reich) the Reichstag passed the Enabling Act which allowed Hitler's cabinet to promulgate laws by decree. One day before the death of Reichspräsident Paul von Hindenburg Hitler and his cabinet issued a decree, that dissolved the office of the president and made Hitler Hindenburg's successor. However this move was in breach of the Enabling Act. Hitler adopted "Führer und Reichskanzler", combining his positions in party and government, as his title. Ostensibly Hitler did not use the title "president" out of respect for Hindenburg's achievements as a heroic figure in World War I and II (though the decree, rather impiously, was already passed before Hindenburg's death on August 2, 1934).

In popular reception, the title of Führer and Chancellor was soon understood to mean Head of State and Head of Government – a view that becomes even more accurate seeing that he was given by propaganda the title of "Führer des deutschen Reiches und Volkes" (Leader of the German Reich and People), the name the soldiers had to swear to. However, it keeps some meaning as "Leader of Party and Head of Government" with reference to the confusing relationship of party and state, including posts in personal union as well as offices with the same portfolio Hitler wanted to fight for his favour. The style of the Head of State was changed on July 28, 1942 to "Führer des Großdeutschen Reiches" ("Leader of the Greater German Reich").

Nazi Germany cultivated the Führerprinzip (leader principle), and Hitler was generally known as just der Führer ("the Leader"). One of the Nazis' most-repeated political slogans was Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer — "One People, One Nation, One Leader".

According to the Constitution of Weimar, the President was Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. Unlike "President", Hitler did take this title (Oberbefehlshaber) for himself. When conscription was reintroduced in 1935, Hitler had himself promoted to the new title Oberster Befehlshaber der Wehrmacht (Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces), which meant then a presidential position over the Wehrmacht in fact led by another (newly instituted) Commander-in-chief, the Minister for War. Following the Blomberg–Fritsch Affair in 1938, Hitler took the responsibilities of this commander-in-chief for himself, though he kept on using the older formally higher title of Supreme Commander, which was thus filled with a somewhat new meaning.

BTW Obama's union thug buddies are the exact replication of Hitlers SA!

WAKE UP AMERICA BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!! Remember, Hitler implemented gun control under the auspice of safety

Take a deep breath and start to read and learn for yourself. WAKE UP AMERICA! The right wing has not a shred of integrity, truth, or fact. That is why they get the paranoid and the gullible to believe and disseminate such utter nonsense.

now ironically, the pot calling the kettle black!!! wonder how much you two could get for the sum of intelligence...you all need to demand a refund on your education...i have reported facts and similarities between Hitlers rise to power and the exact same actions obama is using today!!! no bias, no gop no dem no party stated....but you are so far up obama's a$$ that you cannot see the truth...FACT: modern media DOES NOT report the truth with out a spin...it is left wing biased and EVERYONE KNOWS THIS

          #105.3 - Thu Jan 5, 2012 2:06 PM EST

Actually honey, you didn't report any similarities. You simply pasted some history about Hitler, then said "something something Obama". One could replace "Obama" with "Bush" and it would be just as silly. If this President declares an end to free elections then we'll talk, mmmkay? And yes, I studied German history, 1918-1945. I've forgotten more about German history than most people ever learn. There is no comparison to be made.

Even your one little fact about Hitler increasing gun control just disproves your little fantasy, since President Obama has expanded gun rights, not restricted them. If you paranoid delusion had any basis in reality, it seems Obama would have used the Gabby Gifford tragedy to push for expanded gun rights. Darn pesky reality.

I do agree with your initial statement that "Obama is running America". That is pretty much undisputed, and thank you for admitting it. Other than that, I refer you back to one of the primary rules of political discourse: "Whoever mentions Hitler first, loses."

Mein Kampf contains the blueprint of later Nazi propaganda efforts. Assessing his audience, Hitler writes in chapter VI:

"Propaganda must always address itself to the broad masses of the people. (...) All propaganda must be presented in a popular form and must fix its intellectual level so as not to be above the heads of the least intellectual of those to whom it is directed. (...) The art of propaganda consists precisely in being able to awaken the imagination of the public through an appeal to their feelings, in finding the appropriate psychological form that will arrest the attention and appeal to the hearts of the national masses. The broad masses of the people are not made up of diplomats or professors of public jurisprudence nor simply of persons who are able to form reasoned judgment in given cases, but a vacillating crowd of human children who are constantly wavering between one idea and another. (...) The great majority of a nation is so feminine in its character and outlook that its thought and conduct are ruled by sentiment rather than by sober reasoning. This sentiment, however, is not complex, but simple and consistent. It is not highly differentiated, but has only the negative and positive notions of love and hatred, right and wrong, truth and falsehood."

"Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and, in so far as it is favourable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice; yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favourable to its own side. (...) The receptive powers of the masses are very restricted, and their understanding is feeble. On the other hand, they quickly forget. Such being the case, all effective propaganda must be confined to a few bare essentials and those must be expressed as far as possible in stereotyped formulas. These slogans should be persistently repeated until the very last individual has come to grasp the idea that has been put forward. (...) Every change that is made in the subject of a propagandist message must always emphasize the same conclusion. The leading slogan must of course be illustrated in many ways and from several angles, but in the end one must always return to the assertion of the same formula."

SOUNDS LIKE OUR CURRENT LEVEL MEDIA COVERAGE FOR OBAMA

Sig, those codes must only be in the progressive/liberal playbook. Never heard of them. We have unprecedented long term unemployment. A little oil spill now and again is a small price to pay to allow people to go to work and feed their families. Besides, we have pipelines all over this country and no major leaks. I think this big nasty corporations who provide employment actually know how to build them. I really am annoyed by all this green propaganda, remember how Greece was going to lead us all to Nirvana will all their green employment--have you seen what is going on in the streets of Greece now. Please pull you head out of where you currently have it. Take a look around at the real world. Socialism/progressiveism, whatever you want to call it has destroyed Europe and now this president wants to make the US just like Europe. If you don't think he is an idiot, which I don't, then what is it that is driving him to push us over a cliff that everyone can see for certain is ahead of us. Think about it, if that is actually possible. Why does he want to pursue policy the end result of which is known economic disaster.

There is NO CHANCE that the American People are going to vote for Mitt "the Job Killer" Romney who made his millions shipping American jobs overseas.

The last time Republicans put 2 Oil Men in the White House, and what did do but use our American Taxpayer dollars AND our military to overthrow the 2nd largest oil producing nation in the world.

So now we're supposed to believe that if a guy who made his millions shipping our jobs overseas is going to stop shipping our jobs overseas if he gets in office?

Ha!, that's exactly WHY he wants to get in office.

We've seen this movie before, and we learned our lesson well.

Brüning's austerity measures brought little economic improvement and were extremely unpopular. Hitler exploited this weakness by targeting his political messages specifically to the segments of the population that had been affected by the inflation of the 1920s and the Depression, such as farmers, war veterans, and the middle class.

Lest see...austerity, AKA reduction of government benefits and services (fee ride)

I've got to agree with the part where you call yourself "stupid" if you try to claim you paid for ANYBODY's college education.

You should also add "delusional" on to the rest of the names you call yourself.

                                        Larry,

Just say No! to Mitt "the job killer" Romney!

How sad that the party of the people has actually adopted most of Goldwater's and the far right agenda.

If you are old enough to remember Eisenhower, he often said that if we allow corporations to flourish and create a large military industrialized complex this country is doomed. How right he was.

Also if you study writings of our founding fathers, they likewise warned of Religious zealots having a negative effect on the form of government they envisioned

Ed, Eisenhower Republicans were moderate/liberals who belonged to the Eastern Elites. They have nothing to do with the principles of Lincoln or Reagan.

Secondly, like most liberals you misstate what Eisenhower said about the military industrial complex.

A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction. Our military organization today bears little relation to that known of any of my predecessors in peacetime, or, indeed, by the fighting men of World War II or Korea.

Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense. We have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security alone more than the net income of all United States cooperations -- corporations.

Now this conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet, we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources, and livelihood are all involved. So is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

As to corporations, the facts say just the opposite

Eisenhower's choice of cabinet members demonstrated his support for big business. Eight of the nine members of Eisenhower's cabinet were millionaire corporate executives. Three men -- Charles E. Wilson, Arthur Summerfield, and Douglas McKay -- had ties to General Motors

                                                            #118.2 - Thu Jan 5, 2012 2:46 PM EST

                                                            Larry:

From your quote apparently you agree with my statement. Eisenhower is rolling in his grave due the Militarises vast influence and lavish spending. Do you know that we still pay for the maintenance and upkeep of obsolete 2nd world war equipment and arms.

As for his cabinet I think you better go back and bone up on their history in corporate management. Several made statement to the effect that if left to their own, our economic engine would eventual be controlled by a few (e.g. Wal Mart). Or don't you think it is wrong when a corporation moves into a town and does everything possible to under-sale locals and thus close down main street.

                                                              #118.3 - Thu Jan 5, 2012 3:55 PM EST

I don't agree at all and neither did Eisenhower. Ike stated that it was imperative to have the military industrial complex and a huge military because our world had changed.

So even a liberal president like Ike and Kennedy disagree with you. Just be honest with yourself and others. When ever someone says they are an Eisenhower Republican, they are saying they are a liberal.

Faux News has do wirth everything because it is where all of you looney conservatives go to get your lies and propaganda.

I don't watch fox news. Believe it or not, fox is not a Conservitive news media as the left would have you believe and refuses to ask the real hard and tuff questions when they interview a "moderate" or a liberal. At least MSDNC does that with the very few real Conservitives they have on.

What is funny is that all your conservatives want to go back and live in the 1700's. Progressive liberals made this country the greatest country on earth. Conservatives have done nothing but complain about it.

Really? Then you have NO IDEA what Conservitism is or for that matter what Liberalism is. Did you know that most of our founder were "liberals"? The word "liberal" is derived from the word "Liberty". Our founders believed in individual freedom and a limited government. When the government gets to big, it has to reduce YOUR liberty in order to keep itself going.

But todays liberalism is in no way to be confused with yesterdays liberalism. Liberalism/Progressivism was taken over by the American Socialists in the 1930's to 1050's. Read Karl Marx's "Communist Manifesto" and see where the policies of the left come from. Then read "The Rules for Radicals" and count how many of these rules the democrats are using to push thier policies, this includes Obama who used to teach "The Rules for Radicals".

                                                                          • 1 vote

don't bother with David- he is mentally incapable of independent thinking. the David's of this country are so brainwashed that they find history, facts, and the ideals of liberty alien to them.

These are people who actually LIKE being enslaved to the state. Modern marxist liberalism has rejected the philosophy of classical liberalism that shaped American and European thought in the 18th and 19th centuries. Instead they proclaim the "promises" of marxist liberalism which promotes collectivism over individual liberty and statism over republicanism (not the party but the assemblage of sovereign states united with a common purpose, that of promoting individual liberty protected within the rule of law)

Contrary to the lies fed to these weak minded liberals, it is conservatives who promote classical liberalism.

Classical liberalism is the philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government, constitutionalism, rule of law, due process, and liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets.[1][2]

Classical liberalism developed in the 19th century in Europe and the United States. Although classical liberalism built on ideas that had already developed by the end of the 18th century, it advocated a specific kind of society, government and public policy as a response to the Industrial Revolution and urbanization

Classical liberalism places a particular emphasis on the sovereignty of the individual, with private property rights being seen as essential to individual liberty (a point repeatedly made by the Founders).

Classical liberalism holds that individual rights are natural, inherent, or inalienable, and exist independently of government. Thomas Jefferson called these inalienable rights: "...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law', because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual."[21] For classical liberalism, rights are of a negative nature—rights that require that other individuals (and governments) refrain from interfering with individual liberty, whereas social liberalism (also called modern liberalism or welfare liberalism) holds that individuals have a right to be provided with certain benefits or services by others.[22] Unlike social liberals, classical liberals are "hostile to the welfare state."[17] They do not have an interest in material equality but only in "equality before the law".[23] Classical liberalism is critical of social liberalism and takes offense at group rights being pursued at the expense of individual rights.[24]

If more of you people knew something about the Mormon religion, you would never consider electing Mitt Romney. Don't tell me it's not a cult. Did you know that adults wear a garment underneath their clothes? Did you know that each and every person has to put two years in as a missionary, either knocking on doors in the US or as a missionary overseas? So his children, grandchildren, etc. all will have to do the service. The Secret Service will have to do it with them, or they could be kidnapped. The service is mandatory. There are a lot of really weird things about the Mormons, like how nobody can go inside their temple but a Mormon, so the secret service will have to be Mormons. How is this guy going to be a president when he is a member of this weird religion? Do you know that even if you hate the Mormon religion, they can induct you into it after you're dead? This is a true fact.

Since we have the 1st Amendment, I can not see how a persons religion has to do with them being president. Unless of course, you believe that the US Constitution is an out dated document and should no longer be aheard to like a lot of liberal media pundits say, "the Constitution is over a 100 years old!"

But at the same time, if Ron Paul is going to be hounded about a “racially charged newsletter from twenty years ago”, voters should also be made aware of the discriminatory practices of Romney’s church. For example, look up "black people and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

"(until) 1978, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) had a policy against ordaining black men of African descent to the priesthood. . . in the LDS Church virtually ALL (white) male head-of-household church members are part of the priesthood." (Wikipedia)

Today, women are not allowed to hold any position in the LDS church. Today, homosexuals are considered sinners by the LDS church and must repent their sins or face excommunication.

On the issues of homophobia, racism and gender discrimination, Romney's affiliation with the LDS Church leaves him with a far worse track record against minorities.

                                                                                      #125.1 - Thu Jan 5, 2012 2:33 PM EST

Of course, when I say Conservitives, I am NEVER talking about the Republican party, while there are Conservitives within the party, the party itself has lost it's Conservitive grounding and has since the civil war.

Because of this, his name is often invoked in debates over character. These sorts of comparisons are almost always unwarranted and wildly exaggerated. But now America has a new star politician, Obama, and the parallels between he and the most loathed man in history are very real. In this article, we will examine the methods of assuming power employed by both men, and the role of their decisions in the lives (and deaths) of six millions jews.

We can tell a lot about what a politician thinks of his audience based on his approach to speaking to them. A politician that believes his audience is mature and intelligent will appeal to their logic rather than emotion. He will tell them the unpleasant truth because he believes his audience can handle it. A politician that does not think very highly of his audience will do the opposite. He will remain as vague as possible and appeal to their emotions above all else.

"All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach."
                                                                                          — Adolf Hitler

It is not hard to deduce Obama's opinions of his audience. When he's in public he uses vague terms such as "hope" and "change" rather than attempt to define exactly what it is he intends to do. He appeals to the authority of examples in history in order to imbue their qualities into his words rather than extoll the virtues of any specific policy he proposes. Let's not forget his creative "borrowing" of other people's words either. (see: Deval Patrick) In essence, he aims to inspire, not inform.

"I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few."
                                                                                          — Adolf Hitler

Behind closed doors, however, Obama shows another side to him as he attempts social psychoanalysis on the people whose votes he seeks:

"[People in small towns] get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
                                                                                          — Obama, at a San Francisco fundraiser. (Behind closed doors)

Insults and condescension aside, what is wrong with this picture? Why doesn't Obama share his amatuer psychoanalyst-side with the rest of the people? Surely a great orator as Obama can do it without insulting them, right? It would be impressive for Obama to tell the American people exactly what they're thinking (as he seems to think himself capable of doing), but it appears he doesn't seem to think highly enough of voters to tell them what he thinks, only what he wants them to feel.

                                                                                          Tactics for seizing control:

"He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future."
                                                                                          — Adolf Hitler

Its no big secret that Obama bases most of his appeal with youth voters. This is a common occurrence in the history of the rise of tyrants. Most are supported fervently by the young. Hitler famously used this technique to gain power. The tyrant-to-be must hide his true ambitions behind a mask of emotional appeal in order to seduce the gullible and unwary. The youth most often falls into this category, not yet "broken in" to the number one rule in electing a ruler: watch their actions, not their lips.

"The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category."
                                                                                          — Adolf Hitler

In the year 2000, a fierce primary raged in the Republican party. Two candidates, John McCain and George W. Bush polarized the party. Some sleazy personal attacks against McCain appeared at a crucial moment. In the end, Bush won, but not without sowing the seeds of animosity. McCain believed he had been the victim of some dirty tricks and attributed the attacks to the Bush campaign. Bush denied it. The vitriol was so bad that many expected McCain to leave the party. By most accounts, including the Democrats that met with him to discuss such matters, he almost did. Nevertheless, to the surprise of many wide-eyed pundits, McCain strolled into the convention in support of Bush. Chalk it up to character or political posturing for another run. Despite this, the rivalry did not subside. The two men represented opposite ends of the Republican party.

In the years to follow, McCain became a vocal critic of the management of the Iraq war. When the blueprints for the Surge rolled out, he was one of the first to embrace it while rejecting the Bush doctrine. He has also been critical of the wasteful spending which the administration allowed and even its tax cuts. He earned the scorn of a lot of Republican leaders for this, as well as his "maverick" handle from the media, seeing him as a thorn in the administration's side. Despite their many differences and long history of rivalry, Obama attempts to caricature McCain as essentially a Bush-clone in many of his speeches.

"No matter what the costs, no matter what the consequences, John McCain seems determined to carry out a third Bush term…"
                                                                                          — Barack Obama

Returning to the subject of Obama's views of voters, what do you think this tells us about Obama? Surely the people must know Bush's policies, they've been the law of the land for nearly eight years. Surely, any voter interested in the issues would study the policies of the candidates carefully. If one candidate's policies were identical to the current administration's, wouldn't it be readily obvious even to the most untrained eye? Why would the average voter need Obama to tell them that Bush and McCain are the same person if its obvious? Only if they wouldn't get that impression from looking at the record, only if it weren't true.

"Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it."
                                                                                          — Adolf Hitler

(For the sake of accuracy, it should be noted that a version of this quote first originated with Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda minister. In this particular quote, Hitler was paraphrasing him.)

"Sooner will a camel pass through a needle's eye than a great man be "discovered" by an election."
                                                                                          — Adolf Hitler

January 2nd, 1996, Obama began his under-handed crusade for the senate. With a crack team of lawyers, he challenged hundreds of vote petitions and managed to eliminate all of his fellow Democrats from the ballot. One fellow candidate was Alice Palmer. Up to that point, she had been grooming Obama to succeed her once she retired. Not willing to wait, Obama took matters into his own hands and denied her the right to run for her own seat. Alice Palmer is the same woman who essentially launched his political career. Apparently, Obama didn't trust the voters to "discover" a great man in that election, so he chose for them.

                                                                                          The genes of tyranny:

Obama and Hitler both have displayed a penchant for eliminating "undesirable" infants. Hitler's case is well known; he believed he could create a master race through selective breeding, mandatory sterilization of "undesirable parents" and abortions. Obama's methods lack the scope of ambition but the end result is similar – Obama has legalized the murder of already-born infants.

In 2002, an important bill known as the "Induced Infant Liability Act" cropped up in the Illinois senate. The purpose of the bill was to protect infants who had been born alive after a failed abortion from being "aborted" after birth. In the United States, the second a person is born, they become a U.S. citizen. Taking the life of such a citizen is murder. That is something both pro-choice and pro-life advocates can agree on. Even the most pro-abortion lobby in the country, NARAL, did not oppose it nor the federal version of the law.

Obama on the other hand, did oppose it, TWICE. In doing so, he helped establish the legality of murder of infant Americans in his state.

Both Obama and Hitler are of mixed racial heritage, and distort this heritage to control public opinion. Hitler hated jews and made a career of it, so he hid the fact that jewish blood ran through his veins. Obama has made a career out of embracing his "blackness" and African American heritage. His first book, "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance", was based entirely on that premise. There's just one problem: Obama isn't an African American, Obama is an Arab American.

Obama is 50% caucasian, 43.75% arab, and 6.25% black. According to federal law, an American citizen must be at least 1/8th, or 12.5% of a particular race to be considered a member of that race. Obama meets that criteria easily to be considered an Arab American but not African American.

(The astute reader will have noticed that being that Obama is not truly African American, the title of this article is inaccurate. I have decided upon that title rather than an alternative due to the public's general familiarity with Obama as an "African American".)

                                                                                          Dead-end philosophy:

Pop Quiz: Which of these quotes was said by Hitler and which was said by Obama?

                                                                                          A. "…our individual salvation depends on collective salvation. Because thinking only about yourself, fulfilling your immediate wants and needs, betrays a poverty of ambition."

                                                                                          B. "Our nation can achieve permanent health only from within on the basis of the principle: The common interest before self-interest."

If these two statements seem similiar, it's because they both derive from the same philosophy: socialism. NAZI stands for "National Socialist German Workers' Party". The socialists of Hitler's era aren't much different from those of today in terms of ideology, though most socialists of the modern era are called "latte liberals". Indeed, Hitler would've fit right in with such a group. He was a vegetarian, pro-abortion, an advocate for strict gun control, desirous of universal health care, and continually extolling the virtues of state control.

Someone once asked me how Obama could become a socialist. I replied by asking how he could not. Obama has been surrounded by marxists his entire life. I'm not sure that he has contacted non-marxist/socialist ideas within his close circle of friends even once.

His father was a communist. His mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist. Obama explicitly admits to seeking out marxist professors in his autobiographical work and attending socialist meetings. His close friends, like Bill Ayers the former terrorist, leadership at Trinity, all hold distinctly socialist/marxist views. Obama had the most left-wing voting record in the entire senate for 2007. He was even more radical than senators who were openly socialist.

                                                                                            Reply#126 - Thu Jan 5, 2012 2:18 PM EST

You can bombard them with every fact in the book, but they will continuely say they know better and that what you say is nonsense. There is no other way to put it. You repubs would argue the world is flat if liberals proved to you it was round.

Progressive Liberals are who made this country the greatest country on earth. It had NOTHING to do with anything any conservatives did. Conservatives are only good for complaining about things, never about fixing things.

His statement is clearly an opinion and nothing more, so I would say by your reply he is very correct in his opinion but then again that is just my opinion.

More disenfranchisement tactics of the GOP. Yesterday I went to take a weld test at at a company in Louisville, Ohio. I passed the MIG test but failed the TIG test. I waited to speak with the manager who asked me if I had a time card yet. I told him no but would not be able to start today and had told the temporary agency that had called me that I would not be to start today.

I explained to the manager whose name is Mike Manfull that I would not be able to start at that very instant but would be able to start tomorrow once the temporary agency had everything in order for me to start such as the urinalysis test, time card etc. After telling him this information he said that I would be able to start tomorrow or today at 3:30 pm. Upon arriving home last night I called the temporary agencies after hour line and was told that I had not passed the weld test and would not be working for HP Products. I then told her that Mike Manful had told me in front of me and personally that I would be able to start today at 3:30 pm.

An outright lie. The real goal behind the ploy was another water boarding. Water boarding is being used by the GOP, especially the companies invested in Big Oil to force people not aligned to their political agenda to be on the side of their political agenda against companies like Chevy and the Chevy VOLT.

Put yourself in the position of felling good about getting a job and then being lied to which then causes angst, confusion and anger. The key word hear being angst that if your reconfigure the letters creates the word Stang. There is only person that I know of with the last name Stang and that is Mike Stang. Mike Stang used to work for Koch Knight in East Canton, Ohio and who does Koch Knight support? The Tea Party, Scott Walker and the extreme religious right agenda of turning America into a "Libertarian" country where the diversity that Charles Koch loves so well would be controlled by them through corporate mandates of higher wage employees telling lower wage employees what they can and cannot do on their offtime, where they can go and cannot go on their offtime and what they can or cannot believe in all based off of a controlled mentality of what the Koch Family wants each employee to believe in instead of each employee living by the Constitution of the United States of America.

The Tea Party and GOP has to go America in order for America to really prosper.

So why would Mike Manfull lie to my face and tell me that I had a job and could start the next day when in fact I could have started last night? The fact of the matter is HP Products is running a gasoline scam where they say that they need temporary employees but in fact really don't. The only goal is to cause the person to spend their money thinking that they might have a job which then goes into the pockets of corporations like Koch Knight where the person seeking a job will not become employeed unless they change their belief to that of what Koch Knight wants the person to believe.

So whats there to get Koch Knight? Everyone understand how mentality retarded and degenerate your employees really are.

So what is there to get again?

                                                                                                • 1 vote
