PITTSFIELD, NH -- Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman had this reaction to the news that John McCain -- whom Huntsman endorsed four years ago -- was backing Mitt Romney today in New Hampshire:
Nobody cares.
"I have great regard for Sen. McCain. I love the man. But it's another example of establishment piling on," Huntsman told reporters at Globe Incorporated, a first-responder fire suit manufacturer today.
"It seems the more establishment piles on, Dole, McCain, all the rest, nobody cares. Nobody cares about this. I mean, none of the endorsements that Romney picked up have been a thing in terms of how people respond, because the people are looking for a new generation of leadership. They're looking for a new approach to problem solving in this country. You can get all the Doles and McCains in the world as Romney probably will, but in the end, nobody cares."
Last night, Huntsman -- who has focused his entire campaign here and skipped Iowa -- had the same message for the eventual winner of the Iowa caucuses, Rick Santorum Mitt Romney: "Welcome to New Hampshire. Nobody cares."

Huntsman is absolutly right - the establishment is scared sh!tless that Willard may not be crowned King after all...
Watching the party of pale, male & stale frantically scramble to 'prop' Willard up is; PRICELESS!
Birds of a feather and all...
*popcorn*?
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
Nothing to add.
Describing yourself again... eh... Alan? lol
Huntsman is right, but it sounds awful unpresidential to say it.
Fiesty, get out already. You lost the bet. Get out! You are probably so fat that reality can't set inside your brain. Yes, I know you.
What the hell are you raving about?
Sorry sweet cheeks - I don't take orders, especially from right wing nuts!
In other words, I'm not going anywhere! ;o)
Seriously, this is the best you can do? lmao!
That certainly will not earn you a membership card to the Feisty Fan Club!
Practice a little harder and try again... K?
I will try not to try harder, as I do not like to waste my time talking with liberals that are making the United States a worst place to live. The type of mentality you are your supporters have is just pure avoidance of truth and live in a world were you can do what ever you want. Even when that mentality leads to your death. I respect your freedom of speech, yet do not agree and hope that as you grow up, you will see some truth. For the record, I am no Right Wing.
@10.3
But it is the truth, something more politicians should be speaking about.
What do you do redhead? Sit at your computer staring at it all day waiting for a new post so you can be first in line? It would be great if you worked on your content as opposed to you uncanny sense of timing.
Perhaps something of substance beyond your child's playground name calling would be refreshing. The "party of this" and "party of that" gets old real fast. It is like a repeat of a real boring commercial.
Do you know what "content" is? Mudslinging is the last desperate measure of someone who cannot understand, much less debate the issues.
Give them hell Feisty...
LOVE the way you can make the right wing nuts jobs have hissy fits.
Oh... no doubt there - I can not tell you how much I enjoy watching their heads EXPLODE!
F**K them & the ship they sailed in on...
And again - why DO I CARE?
Here's a helpful little hint, pal, check your own testosterone levels and call me in the morning little buddy!
It really is a shame you have NO ONE in your simple little life to fill the void!
I do however, thank YOU for playing and we have some lovely parting gifts for you! ;o)
feisty --- i think adams might be the guy working next to the guy called "peggy". in some dingy republican boiler room with dial phones and old tv monitors. the same crowd hired by the koch bros and waltons.

And he's establishment, who just did yeoman work in trying to crash Dr Paul's candidacy, didn't work, but they did try...
Although I completely understand what and why Huntsman is speaking the way he is, to me it's not coming across as genuine. IMO, if he compared himself to the day he first entered the race, he seems far more flippant, snarky and overtly dismissive than a man who served as a diplomat to China.
I'm hard-pressed to believe that we would have a press release if John McCain and/or Dole were to endorse Huntsman with the Huntsman campaign saying they don't give a damn who endorses them because nobody cares.
Coming across a bit more bitter than genuine, Jon. Anything short of a landslide in NH for you will be a complete flame out.
I agree--he sounds a bit too dismissive.
Yeah, agree with both characterizations.
I wonder if he is disillusioned at the absolute lace of traction he has gotten through this whole process. Could lead to snarkiness.
Bah, build the dang fence! I don't know how many homes I have! I want a fence! Bah, Nurse where is my fence!
Hee hee hee. That's funny. Now joining us in the center ring is Jon Huntsman. I do believe some on this site will take exception to his comment. Almost time for my Irish coffee and sit back and enjoy the exploding heads.
Aw, c'mon. I have been researching ancient Egyptians religion all day. I need a break. I need exploding heads taking exception to Ambassador Huntsman's comment!
Huntsman is right, however "poor sport" it sounds. But my $1 says Huntsman would sing a different tune if McCain endorsed him. Listening to the caucus coverage last night after I came home from the democratic one, the panel was discussing the close vote and how it could affect Romney. Steve Schmidt, McCain's former campaign guy, said that McCain (like Romney now) was never the GOP's favorite candidate; voters were never enthused about him. Although Schmidt's comment was last night, it would suggest today that a McCain endorsement is meaningless to the majority of republicans who do not want to pick the establishment GOP's chosen candidate.
After McCain's pick of Palin I would think his picks are highly suspect.
Is it just me or does anybody else think McCains endorsement is not a good thing for Romney?
I remember how the establishment GOP hated McCain.
McCains endorsement is not a good thing for Romney
What I remember is Republicans choosing McCain over their true conservatives in 2008 because he seemed more "electable."
Same mistake twice?
Hey, Forrest -
Speaking of Palin, McCain, and Steve Schmidt - have you seen the trailer yet for HBO's version of "Game Change"? Ed Harris is one of my favorite actors anyway.....and the look on Woody Harrelson's face as Steve Schmidt hears them chanting "Sarah! Sarah!" is priceless.....but Julianne Moore is downright spooky! Thanks to Dennis, Columbus for initially putting me on to this:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/2011/12/hbo-releases-game-change-trailer-108393.html
(P.S. - I don't even have cable, so hope this isn't considered advertising!)
Your lips to gods ears
In any other environment McCain's endorsement would be considered a boat anchor, but I'm afraid we will just have to settle for a pox upon him....
Huntsman is so right. Nobody cares. And msnbc split the screen while President Obama was talking. McCain is not news. Did you listen too his wacky comments? He is way over the top. That bombastic talk will do in the Republican Party in 2012. It only works with people filled with hatred. That is not the majority of registered voters. Not even the majority of Republicans. The likes of Karl Rove, Grover Norquist and Frank Lutz have outlived their usefullness. They have become predictable and their actions despicable to the general public.
4 years later & nothing has changed!
McGeezer is still a crotchety old coot who yells at the pigeons on the park bench!
Seeing that Michelle Obama likes to be called "your excellency". Should we refer to Barack as King Obama?
So, you take seriously a joke made on a tween show, ICarly to be precise, as gospel? Good grief. And I guess everything Spongebob says is true too!
I take indoctrination of children very seriously. The damage liberal "educators" have done to this country's moral fabric is astounding.
I wonder how many times nickelodeon asked George W. Bush or Laura to appear on one of their shows.
I'm guessing ZERO!
For Pete's sake. Get a life.
FYI Lara Bush DID appear on several children's tv shows. Look it up.
Rob Who indoctrination you? Keep reaching for straws cause thats all you have!
When politicians don't get endorsements, it's OK, because they don't want to be seen as "Washington insiders." When they do get endorsements, it is said, nobody cares.
I think I'll start following a sport like Ultimate Frisbee, it has rules that make sense.
Is "Insane McCain" off his medications?? Again! Has he escaped from the Nursing Home?? Again! Is he going to be piloting "Romulian Romney's" Bird Of Prey back to Romulus?? Maybe they have better Nursing Homes on "Romulian Romneys' home planet of Romulus?? Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! The Party Of NO has got to GO!!
Are you going to play ring around the rosy now? How about Red Rover? I have no clue what you are talking about beyond their might be something in there you don't like. Why you build a science fiction movie out of it I have no clue. Is there a particular issue, point of view or anything of substance?
I don't understand the Kool Aid guzzling then pom pom waving thing. Strange way to discuss issues.... assuming you have one.
It's unfortunate that Huntsman wasn't able to appeal to the masses. He really is a centrist - aka- non-Republican whack-job. I would still vote for Obama over him, but I would sure feel a lot better about having a Republican for president if he got the nomination. He's right though....I don't care about McCain's ridiculous endorcement or Bob Doles, or any of these old farts who are completely out of touch with America.
Nobody cares about you Huntsman, correction 769/ votes in Iowa? Just a little bitter and jealous of Romney? And Romney out of touch with America? That is exactly what we need! A leader with outstanding leadership ability, very hard to find. Not a community organizer. Obama is in touch with miliions of Americans all right, the ones on on the dole. Handouts all over the map. We need someone successful, Educated, and full of leadership experience and not a Washington insider, like obama and his pay for play cronies.
Then Mitt Romney should drop out. He certainly does not qualify as a leader to any true conservative or liberal IMO
I find it enlightening that Huntsman received any votes in the Iowa caucuses, considering he spent $0.00 there and even dismissed it as unimportant.
How much was spent per vote for Romney, Perry, and even Santorum ?
McCain is just a fat pale white grubworm who's been all over the place on issues. I've lived in Arizona the last 20 years so I read about this clown year around. He's about as phoney as they make em. And Sarah Palin? Did he even bother to research how truely ignorant and vindictive she is?
I voted for Paul last time around. Today I would have to go with Obama, Paul or Huntsman, thats it The rest of that group is out of the question. Huntsman like Ron Paul is being honest, I like that, it's a welcome change from all of the double talk from left and right extreemist.
And Santorium? Geezus, what a very very odd person. Being from Nebraska I've spent alot of time in Iowa so I'm puzzled by their support for him. Not what I expected at all. Really surprised they passed on Paul.
another %%$%^$% stupid lib comment
Oh, you don't have to be puzzled, it was planned that way..... It was planned so well that they almost knocked off their boy also....
I posted this earlier on another thread, it seems appropriate here also...
Hi Guys, I was a mite depressed after last night so I was just puddling around the net after the caucus and found something that is interesting...
I knew that the republicans would play dirty, looks like Santorum had more than just God's help....
Check some of these out...

Radio Interview....
www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQXVB9buAmc
She pretty much predicts the Iowa results the day before the caucus....
Iowa shouldn't be first in the nation... Politics is a Dirty Business but to be this bold faced about it, I'm not so depressed anymore I knew there had to be a reason someone come from 6% irrelevant in three days to almost win..........
Huntsman is a "realist' and not a GOP party stooge like Romney and Santorum. Perry flops all over the place but the other two are bought and paid for big GOP lobby stooges. They can do no wrong in the eyes of the GOP despite rarely having a decent answer to any questions. Their positions on subjects are 100% driven by what will appease the GOP lobby's and get them elected.... in that order.
Huntsman is second behind Ron Paul at being a realist and the most knowledgeable regarding financial issues. I would not vote for him for the simple reason he worked for the Federal Reserve. I consider that a deal breaking possible conflict of interest for a President.
The GOP only wants to back its candidates that toe the line and establish the points of the GOP lobby agenda. Unfortunately, we can't even tell the difference between the mainstream Democratic party or GOP. They are both first and foremost backed by IMF, Goldman Sachs, Federal Reserve, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Fannie/Freddie. Mobile Exxon, British Petroleum and it dribbles on from there. Both parties have been taking billions from these legacy lobbies for decades. Neither party can cut a fart without asking these lobby's what to do.
I can appreciate Huntsman's candor. Romney and Santorum lie so much they don't even know what candor is. When someone asks a question they look over at the GOP elites for the answer. ......... puppets....... just like Obama.
well said Adams101
All of these republicians runnong for office sounds like dictators. I will change this! I wiil change that! All of them with the exception of Huntsman and Paul have signed "The Pledge Not to raise Taxes". in plain english that means they are now owned by the Corporations just as the senate and house members who signed THE PLEDGE".
Forget the oath of office they have taken the oath of I work for the Corporations oath. The Repubs yelled and screamed and appeared on quick clips on every media "We are in debt! we must stop spending! When the payroll tax holiday and extend unemployment insurance benefits ( H.R. 3630 was up for a vote. The republicans tacted on the bill a 7.BILLION energy project, Yes they are going to spend $ 7. BILLION DOLLARS Wait I am wrong YOU are going TO PAY $ 7 BILLION DOLLARS for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline from Hardisty, Alberta, to Steele City, Nebraska, and to the United States Gulf Coast, through Cushing,Oklahoma.
Yes the repugs are really concerned about that $ 40,00 a year tax break you will receive! Check it out go to Thomas loc.gov look up the bill, H. RES. 501. They think the America Public, you and me, are too stupid to notice they just put us in debt another $ 7 BILLION dollars to an oil company. What's their cut for making this deal? stock options? member of the board with big salary for not doing a days work, just like they do in congress?
LOL.... idiot
Nobody cares is right ... Mc cain sold out in the last election and was scared to go after our racist ,marxist , socialist president.
A dictatorship is when you have an incumbent "leader" who demands to be the only candidate. No discussion whatsoever despite an atrocious record of next to zero meaningful accomplishments in a depression. Obama and the little elite group of "todies" or "chronies" are deciding for 150 million Democrats who will represent the party. Just shut up and drink the Kool-Aid. When we say "ready" hop around with the government issued Pom Pom's. THAT is a dictatorship.
I find this not only irresponsible but selfish and self serving. We have 45 million on food stamps, 15 million confirmed unemployed, 40 million making half the income they were 3 years ago, expanded 1 war to 3 with no end in sight. The military contractors are running the Pentagon and our foreign policy while the Federal Reserve plays Santa Clause to every foreign bank on the planet that screwed themselves with greed in the derivatives market. The FED is being allowed to print as much money as they please domestically, loan it to themselves at 0% interest then buy up all our defaulting homes, business's and stocks at 25 cents on the dollar.
This is for all practical purposes a coups d'éta by the global corporations who are stripping the US like a car to be sold for junk. All Obama has done for the last 3 years is run coverup operations for all these financial terrorists. He fought the Ron Paul sponsored "audit the FED" bill swearing up and down there was nothing to find. Despite finding $16 TRILLION was shoved out the backdoor between 2009 and 2010 Obama had "no comment". That's right.... while we were handing Goldman Sachs part of the $600 billion TARP money they had already been given $5 TRILLION from the FED.
Just to put that $16 TRILLION into perspective....... that is over $700,000 per family in the US.... but Obama knows you would rather give that kind of money to Goldman Sachs and mega wealthy European investors than skyrocket right out of a depression. Still not a word of discussion on this from Obama........... inexcusable. The FED also handed out $600 billion on Christmas 2011 to the same investors...... not a word out of Obama.
How long are you Democrats going to keep shooting yourselves in the foot? This guys idea of job creation is borrowing half a trillion then handing it out to all his lobby's and special interest groups. Yep, real job bill there and no wonder they fall flat in Congress. I just don't understand the complacency and ignorance of the Democratic party. At least the GOP Is talking about change.
Huntsman is so correct. McCain was irrelevant in 2008, Plastic Man will be irrelevant in 2012.
Isn't this like one loser endorsing another?
Yes. More like one loser endorsing another loser to then run against the biggest loser already in office. This next election will be like voting between Dumb and Dumber.
Here's the deal. The ONLY republican candidate who is NOT a right winger is Mitt Romey. He is also the ONLY candidate that has enough intellect and common sense to make sense. I personally don't like hime because he made A LOT OF his money PUTTING PEOPLE out of work, He is also a typical politician, saying nothing if he can get away with it AND saying what he has to in order to get elected. He was a conservative govenor in a liberal state, and he said enough here to convince people he was middle of the road. Once out, he changed his opinion on everything that would alienate the influential republican people, namely the right wing , the tea party, and their cohorts, the ideological religious. PRESIDENT OBAMA: DO THIS. IF the republicans nominate anyone BUT Romeny, you've got it made because they will shoot themselves in the foot. They can convince the right wing and some middle roaders, but thas's it. As far as Mitt goes, probably you're biggest worry, just bring up the fact MITT WANTS TO GO TO WAR WITH IRAQ, and ASK HIM how he is going to PAY FOR THAT if there is NO MONEY for social security, medicare, health care, or our veterans and homeless. This election WILL NOT be a cake walk BUT if you are proactive and campaing and fight, the REPUBLICANS DO NOT STAND A CHANCE and IT IS THEIR OWN FAULT.
Bill - Correct, Romney is not Conservative Right. He is just as much a politician as Obama is, and willing to play the part to get elected as Obama did. However, the difference is Romney actually has Real Life Business and Leadership experience as opposed to Obama's lack of experience. Your comment applies to most politicians in Washington...both Dems and Repubs, we should find a way to clean house. Either way, none of us voters are getting what we ideally want in a president and we will have to settle yet again for the lesser of two evils.
Why on earth would you assume Obama is not going to war with Iran??? Do you pay attention to anything? Did you even notice what he did on new years eve in Hawaii? Why was there no big Rose Garden ceremony with commemorative pens and Biden jerking off when he signed that bill? Think it has to do with him giving the right to the government to arrest and send Americans off to Guantanamo with no charges, no rights, indefinately? Remeber when he PROMISED to veto that if it ever came across his desk? Same way he promised to get rid of the Patriot Act. How did that go? Hell, it's like Bush never left office.
I couldn't stand McCain in 2008, but nonetheless I voted for him with my nose plugged. He and the GOP establishment screwed the Conservative base in 2008 and he still has no influence on my opinion of Romney even today. Just like Romney, he is more left even than a moderate, and certainly not a conservative.
Honestly we need a upper age limit on running for president , we already have a lower one .
We need to get rid of the frankly way way too old people trying to run our govt. There is a limit to how well anyone can do that job unless they are in their prime of life .
No one over 55 should be attempting to take on this incredibly difficult job.
You need to be at the top of your game in life to do this job , and I am speaking as someone that is not young myself so I do have a clue about this one .
We really need some fresh new ideas and energy in our govt , especially the senate and house of reps .
Does anyone care about the old old guard endorsing anyone , I really hope not .
McCain endorsing Romney? More like a nitwit endorses a Mittwit.
RP 2012 !!!
Allen...you are right Huntsman is getting a tad "snarky" but so am I after watching the whole Republican Primary process. God forbid that you should be articulate and have sound ideas for our country not just rhetoric to play to the base.....
