CHARLESTON, S.C. – As Rick Santorum’s supporters celebrated his strong Iowa showing, they were also making preparations for a push through South Carolina that will begin even before the New Hampshire primary vote.

U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum addresses a crowd in Iowa on Jan 3.
Santorum’s South Carolina fans, some of whom were gathered at his relatively well-appointed campaign headquarters to watch the caucus returns, will be able to see him in the Palmetto State on the afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 8th, when he stops in Greenville just two days before the New Hampshire vote.
His campaign also added another South Carolina staffer: political consultant Andrew Boucher, a former executive director of the New Hampshire Republican primary – a ramping-up of staff that suggests Santorum will seek to capitalize on his Iowa momentum here, a state that has picked every Republican presidential candidate since 1980.

Santorum’s supporters, about 15 of whom remained at the headquarters as the final votes trickled in, were ecstatic about his neck-and-neck finish with Mitt Romney – but some of them said they weren’t surprised he did so well.
“I knew this was going to happen,” Kathy Hughes, a retired teacher from Mt. Pleasant, said. “So many people were saying, ‘why are you supporting him? Santorum can’t win!’ But I knew.”
She added that the phones at Santorum’s headquarters here had been ringing non-stop over the past few days. The phone did buzz a few times into the wee hours of Wednesday morning; the last call, Hughes said, came from a voter in Peoria, Illinois who was trying to get in touch with one of Santorum’s early-state headquarters.
Joan Peters, a member of the Charleston Tea Party board from Moncks Corner, said she supported Santorum’s decision not to skip New Hampshire and come directly to South Carolina as Michele Bachmann is doing and Rick Perry was going to do before he announced he’d first return to Austin to reassess his campaign.
“He’s probably not going to win because Mitt Romney’s got New Hampshire pretty sewn up, but he’ll do well and then he’ll come down to South Carolina and the money’s going to start coming in,” Peters said. “People now realize what we’ve always realized, which is that he’s a credible candidate and he can win.”

B. Hussein Obama has played 90 rounds of golf, but on Thursday evening, 12/29/2011, was the very first time that our Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, America-hating, Democrat, Left wing Kook visited Pearl Harbor, since becoming POTUS!!!
PRIORITIES, PRIORITIES!!!
What is wrong with this picture? B. Hussein Obama has played 90 rounds of golf, however, his visit Thursday, December 29, 2011 to Pearl Harbor was the first time since becoming Commander-in-Chief. December 7, 2011 marked the 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the death of more than 2400 Brave, American Souls. However, B. Hussein Obama was no where to be found. Yet, he manages to visit Peal Harbor for the first time in between rounds of golf and shaved ice with the family while on vacation in Hawaii? As fate would have it, there were reporters there, imagine that!!
The president and first lady, Princess Michelle Obama visited the USS Arizona Memorial, where they observed a moment of silence in a room in which the names of crew members who died 70 years ago this month have been inscribed.
B. Hussein Obama, who visited the memorial before he was President in 2008, did not make any remarks at the memorial, according to a report. But he and the Princess dropped white and purple orchids onto the sunken battleship.
What an example he has sets as supposed Commander-in-Chief. At some point this guy will pay a political price for using the U.S. Military as a political prop. We'll remember in November (2012)!!!!
Johnny Bee, There is more to your story than meets the eye.
Johny Be- whew you obviously either need your medication or you need to see a doctor to get medication.
This message is from the Obama-Biden 2012 re-election committee
Hey, Johnny. This forum is about Rick Santorum. It's not to be used for inane blathering about Obama. Now, Bee gone, you impudent churl!
Rick Santorum,
I knew you had a few tricks up your sleeve. Glad to see you pulled this one out of your hat.
Santorum is ready to rock and he is on a roll.
GOD Bless his soul.
Jenasus Trinity Parks
yeah, his "trick" was to be a crazy science hating gay hating war happy evangelical.
Obama is PRAYING that rick gets the nomination. lol. He'll have all the moderates and independents voting for him again.
I will bring them with me. Its time to get the Party Started.
Santorum has suddenly emerged as the latest republican expert on the conditions in so-called inner cities. He has stated that there is no one there to serve as role models for the youth of those areas. No one can deny that there are indeed conditions and situations common to inner cities that are in desperate need of remedy. However, I have yet to read or hear of any comment(s) by Santorum apropos to sexual child abuse emanating within his Catholic Church domain, which by the way has been well documented. Similarly, the recent child abuse scandal at Penn State University, which of course is in Father Santorum's home state, has not been publicly addressed by the holier than thou one. The obvious question then, why not? Could it very well be Santorum considers those events as mere conincidence? Santorum, sin is sin, wrong is wrong. Neither are graded by degree or relegated to a particular ethnic group. Come from behind your self-appointed pulpit and remove the plank in your own eye so you might be able to see more clearly how to remove the speck from the eyes of others, particularly those who do not look like you.
May I ask what one issue has to do with the other? Your argument is illogical. He didn't bring up Indian reservations either. Does that prove he hates Indians? Nobody has time to discuss every issue.
johny bee --- are you on uppers or some kind of other stimulant? i've never seen anyone cut and paste like you. you need to chill out a little bit before you stain your drawers.
This guy as president would be like man-on-dog sex.
Are you talking about beastiality that P. Obama signed into law?
If RoSe'S are ReD and ViOLeTTe'S are BLuE than I will give my LOVE to YOU.
Why is it that the Dumbocracks are always getting so mixed up. They keep blaming the Rebuttlickens for the things Obama does. It just doesn't make any sense. How could so many people be so messed up?
They are being led straight off the cliff and they can't see it. WAKE UP!!!
There is certainly a lot of anger and disagreement out here ,but it certainly helps to pass the time, the t.v.being mind freezing ,shows being unable to develope a reasonable show as they advertise for 31 mins. per hour,so thank you all for the entertainment. There have been a few sneering comments about contributors being too dumb to use spell check, but I think that it is nearer to the truth to assume that some of us are not conversant with how to use it.I myself am not good on a typewriter, nor the computer, My grandchildren are quite a lot of help, but I do not see them too much ,so have to hack it myself, but I do think most of us get our points across. I am an engineer myself.I think/hope that as the reps.are moving further to the far right that they are loosing most of the centreists .I certainly hope so ,as this has always been an olgarcacy ,but with enough common sense to know how far to allow the oligarcs to have their way .
J B. Your phrase, left wing ,social, liberal marxist, socialist democrats, isn't making any oomph because that description only shows how little you know about political parties and history. For your information only . When the Marxists won the civil war ,their first aim was to wipe out the Liberals, Socialists, and Unionists. You should also study the pograms of Nazi Gerrmany and Spain. Oligarcic society has always, throughout history been against those members of their population. Study of those historical periods should help you to not repeat that phrase.
Of course it doesn't make any sense. J.B. is a run-of-the-mill ignorant right wing fool.
Rommell and Sanitarium tied in Iowa. On to New Hampshire. Now, we need Darth Nader to run again to spice up the other side !
Rich Santorum said, "All I know is that every Mormon I know is a good and decent person, has great moral values..."
Every atheist I know is a good and decent person, has great moral values. deringpoliticians.blogspot.com/2011/11/atheists-underrepresented.html”
I don't think he met Warren Jeffs.
Peace.
:)))))))))))))
Of course he didn't mention atheists, because there are no atheists currently running for president.
My views are at odds with Santorum so I am unable to support. I don't know what Romney and Gingrich views are since they keep changing. I agree with some on Ron Paul's views about smaller government, but not to the extent Ron Paul describes.
Got anyone else?
At first I thought your wife or your mother bought your sweaters and other clashing clothes....then I learned you were Catholic.
Forget what I just said, but don't try out to be a model for Gentleman's Quarterly, OK?
In any state with a high % of evangelical fundy thumprs, ole ricky is going to do quite well.
States with a high % of educated voters... Not so much..

Ayatollah Rick Shall Rise!
GOP, the Master Race.
Anybody but Obama has my vote.
I knew there was something about SANTORUM that was not right. Santorum HID the email sent to him asking him to "HELP OUT" his friend JOHN ENSIGN who was accused of flaundering and paying his mistress and her parents all that dough. So this is why he and NEWTIE have been friends for, what 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!! Santorum, you snake in the grass covering for your flaundering friends John Ensign & NEWTIE boy and trying to preach FAMILY values to everyone. Wait until Willard get a hold of this info.
This is getting better and better and G BUSH at home say "damn, I thought I was bad". I am NOT endorsing any of the fools". Don't we just love this side show. Go get'em RON PAUL!
Sounds like Johnny Bee has a crush on the PRESIDENT! How sweet :-)!!
We are about to find out that Santorum and his BS about family values and beliefs are just that, BS. When are people going to learn that the more someone preaches morality. The more likely they are going to have skeletons in their closet. Santorum is another in the line of Republican hypocricy. The preach family values and criticizes others, but when you examine their life you find out something completely different. Now we hav Santorum covering up for John Ensign which just surfaced. I am going to love the spin on this one. It should be one for the ages.
Just because some people have made mistakes doesn't make them hypocites. You can't look at a few obscure examples over decadeds and say they are hypocrites. You have to look at the entire life. Yes there might be a few skeletons, but there are also lots of good things Santorum has done to help the poor, minorities, and the disadvantaged. He has dedicated thousands of hours and thousands of dollars to help them.
His "surge" only highlights how screwed up the Republicans are right now. They still have all these conservatives and radical conservatives that actually believe that they can win the presidency so they won't accept the fact that Romney is a more moderate and could be electable. The American people will not elect someone that is very far right or left of center. It just won't happen. As for Santorium, as soon as the negative attacks start to happen, as they will, he will drop from sight. He has been lucky in that he has run a low key campaign in Iowa, stayed out of the limelight and thus avoided negative ads being thrown at him. He popped in at the end before the public was even aware of him and his evangelicals only knew he was one of them. So another round looms ahead
Obama 2012!!!!!!
