The patriarch of the Duggar family, the 19-member clan subject of a TLC reality show, joined Rick Santorum on the campaign trail Monday to endorse the former Pennsylvania senator.
Jim Bob Duggar made an appearance on behalf of Santorum at the Pizza Ranch in Boone, Iowa on Monday, "asking Christians in America to get behind Rick Santorum" in the battle for the GOP nomination.
The Santorum campaign, which is leaning on support from social conservatives in its bid to win tomorrow's Iowa caucuses, touted the Duggars' support in a subsequent release.
"Rick Santorum is a pro-life, Christian conservative with the family values and common sense business perspective that we need to get our nation back on track, to create jobs and to stand for what is right!" Michelle Duggar said in that statement.
The endorsement isn't the first social conservative act of support for Santorum; he'd been backed by Bob Vander Plaats, a social conservative leader in the state, and courted many of the same activists to have propelled former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee to victory in the 2008 Iowa caucuses.
But the Duggars' endorsement is maybe the most prominent for Santorum, given the ratings for their show, "19 Kids and Counting," and their identifiable status as evangelical Christians -- an important voting bloc in Iowa.

Have not watched anything on TLC for over a year. That network is in a downward spiral and gaining speed.
I used to watch a lot of TLC, but wireman, I agree, don't watch it anymore since the baby beauty pageants, the Duggers,and unlimited hours of birthing rooms......not my cup of tea. Oh, and the wedding dress fights......now that is really stupid. I watched when Trading Spaces was still on.

Maybe Iowa should postpone its caucuses for a few months so the Duggar assembly line can crank out a few more products and give the state to The Frothy One all by themselves.
Does this surprise anyone? Members of one wacky religious sect endorsing the member of another? I know that Rick Santorum is a very conservative Catholic; wacky just the same. I feel comfortable saying that because after 12 years of Catholic education I had to "retire" from active participation. When will be remember that we need to separate church from state? Theocracy, whether it be Christian, Islamic or anything else is bad news. Hundreds of years of history prove it.

I have to admit I like Senator Sanitorium. He's far too religious wacko for most, but he has a quality of honesty and for being real. He seems human and genuine. Good qualities for a leader. You can't say the same for Mitt.
Lots of people are honest, and lots of honest people are still creepy and incapable of running a diverse country where people of many beliefs work together for a common good without forcing any religion down anyone else's throat.

Considering all the attention Santorum’s been getting lately, I’m surprised that some newsie hasn’t brought up an incident that happened in 1996. Santorum’s wife had a premature delivery (20 weeks) that only lived a couple of hours. Santorum and his wife took the corpse home and introduced it to the rest of their children as their baby brother Gabriel. They even slept with it between them in their bed that night. They took it back to the hospital the next morning. I don’t know about you, but in addition to all of Santorum’s other flaws, I certainly wouldn’t want someone that creepy in the White House.
Well , I can't find my post . Ok , Social Security is denied if anyone opts out of Medicare . Obamacare is the first Administration to outright steal fica monies from it intended purpose which is pay for a Pension . It should make no difference if one one to opt out of Medicare which too has been corrupted by Obamacare in called maintenance chronic diseases only subject limited amounts of care or no care .
As to the candidate stating he know about pork , vs doing something about it , it is two different things .

I might take what you say seriously if you could learn to put together one sentence that made any sense. You are clearly unfamiliar with the Affordable Care act, as well as the Supreme Court Case - citizens United which was supported by all of your conservative friends who are supported by the Koch brothers and the corporate interests who secretly finance all of the PACs.

Don't know where you heard that garbage Chuck, but it is patenly untrue. Medicare part A is free and you can't opt out of it....but you can just not use it and pay for private insurance but you will not lose your SS.......I am on SS and I know it well.
