Let's see, obama even formed a debt reduction commitee and chartered private sector businesses to make recommendations for creating jobs. Just think, he has ignored them both untill he could ignore them no longer.

A healthcare plan spread out over so many years and having such controversy that I am sure it gives them <business> clarity as well. Financial reform, good for the long term, but the capital bank requirements not so much in the short term.
Hey, Hillary tried to derail Prez Obama in real time, especially when she saw she was about to lose and McCain tried pathetically to do it and both lost. What makes them think that they'll do any better when all Prez Obama has to do is use Mitch McConnell's own words against him and that's just for starters.

What is gonna' happen is Obama WILL be re-elected and then he will not have to worry about his own election any more (All 1st term POTUS waste way too much energy on thinking about their second term and do not lead as they could or should during the first term) ans you WILL see the "change" you so fear. Single payer health insurance, tax cuts for ONLY the middle-class and working class, supreme court appointees who are NOT moldy old white catholic men, defense spending cuts, etc.

Noisy - seems that obama had all those progressives in 2009/2010, what happened then? Sorry, just don't see the need to give obama and company another chance. If he had remained focused on the economy or not publicly blamed the opposition or wealthy at every turn I might give him the benefit of doubt.

It was never about the most important thing they SHOULD have wanted to achieve was working with this president to get us out of the mess Bush left us in, it is about regaining power at any cost, country be DAMNED.
This president has no intentions of getting us out of the mess. Just creating the groundwork for his much hoped for second term and leading us into the redistributionist and entitlement (and therefore dependence on GovCo) future his puppet masters have created for him.
Voters gave the Republican Party a second chance in 2010, to redeem themselves after two disastrous terms of George Bush, and what did they do with their opportunity? Fought to keep taxes low for the very rich, fought to reduce the benefits of firefighters, teachers and other public workers, and fought against getting everyone covered with health insurance. Oh, and engaging in three years of personal attacks on President Obama and his wife. No wonder Congress is at 9% approval and the three least popular governors are Teapublican.
No number one goes to Democrat Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii. You know, the one who certified the "certificate".
To all my liberal friends out there,
if you think that the election and movement that did it is dead you are badly mistaken, they were almost universally elected on the basis of stopping the liberal democrat agenda in it's tracks. That was their platform. Just because it was done under the republican label doesn't mean a thing, it could have easily been done under the democrat label.
They knew going into this it was going to take more than one election cycle to get it done. I've already heard media opinions on the Senate turning over in November and the House remaining republican but with a lesser majority. And, that isn't with any consideration of who is president, Obama or one of the republicans it doesn't matter.
The key point is that the people are not satisfied with the status quo, they want change and they want it NOW. One of the things that are going to hurt the president is his promise that he would bring the troops home as the first thing he does when he sits at the desk, it's also the first promise he broke.

Once that crap is taken care of (Obama gets re-elected after a wasteful and expensive campaign) he will stop the redistribution of wealth upwards in this country so we do not end up looking like an oligarchy like Mexico or Russia where 10 families control most of the wealth and the rest of us are serfs. Social Security is not an entitlement you nutjob. Universal healthcare is not either. Right now Tax deductions for jets and ski trips and yachts ARE entitlements. So Let's get rid of those entitlements NOW!!
Universal healthcare is not a right either. Spreading the wealth to those who won't get up and earn it like the evil rich did, is not a right. The tax cuts were across the board for all (thus the 47% who get back what they paid in and then some). The Robin Hood philosophy is BS and an insult to me and many other lower middle class citizens who worked to get to the level we are. The only thing stopping us from being in your imaginary 1% is the fact that we didn't need any mor than we could do for ourselves. No I am not a birther nut job but sure would like to see a little more "transparency" from the annointed one.

You teabaggers need to inform Mitch, Norquist, Rove, Boehner, Cantor, and the rest of the wingnuts that they may have slowed down the President's agenda and caused a lot of trouble detrimental to America and U.S. citizens, but you HAVE NOT (AND WILL NOT!) achieve the goal of "insuring Obama is a one-term President"; In fact, all you have done is insure the OPPOSITE.
But, hey... keep shouting your half-truth talking points; we voters understand that that is all you have left to cling to at this point.
What is so frustrating about politics today is that the candidates prefer to simply trash the other party as opposed to saying exactly what they will do better and how they will do that. And what's worse is that this does not stop once they are elected. Even after being elected, our representatives treat governing as if it were a sporting event with two political teams where the entire goal is to make sure that the other team does not win by getting its way. This is not what democracy and governing is all about!
The U.S. was never designed or intended to have a two party system (in fact, our founding fathers were against political parties in general because of the problems they create). Instead, democracy is about representatives of various groups of people in distinct locations and with distinct issues coming together to reach a solution that is in the best interests of the country as a whole. However, that is not how our system works anymore due, in large part, to the excessive power that the Reps and Dems have created for themselves over the last century and the campaign finance system that both keeps these two parties in power and causes elected representatives to be beholden to and to focus only on the needs and desires of the party with which they affiliate and the few large organizational contributors to that party.
That is why we need systemic changes that cause our elected representatives to refocus their energies on the American citizens that they represent! I encourage everyone to check out the American Overhaul Act at www.americanoverhaulact.org, which proposes the very types of changes that are needed to fix these problems. The Act forcuses on six separate areas of concern: Congressional Term Limits, Federal Election Campaign Reform, Congressional Size Limits, Congressional Compensation Limits, Elimination of Party Favoritism, and Federal Budget-Deficit Reform. Check it out! And, if you agree with the proposals in the Act, share it with your frineds and family so that we may continue to gain the support that we will need to make our government officials take notice!
Every ballot I have ever voted on had more than one party for President an most Senatorial and Congressional seats.
The country is falling apart because the Baby Boomer generation would only vote for parties which promised more benefits (Social Security, Medicare, Pensions, etc) than the system could possibly provide without breaking. Now it is broken.
Our current senior citizens voted for ever bigger government in exchange for benefits that do not apply to those who must pay for them

Romney started it months ago in his ads, and even defended such actions - there was a thread on her regarding that - ol' Mitt has taken the position that such conduct is okay. The reason why the Dems lost the house is because the voters wanted to keep taxes low for all Americans, and wanted to Appeal the Health Care Act.. If the American People wanted Higher Taxes they would have kept the the Dems in the Majority.

Nor do the polls back up your assertion that the voters "wanted to keep taxes low for all Americans." The majority of Americans did NOT want Obama to sign the extension of the Bush tax cuts for 2 years and for only 1 year of an unemployment insurance extension to boot. Lousy bargaining as I see it.
You sum up well why the Repubs have turned into the obstructionist party.
Just look at this in terms of the 1st term of any president is a waste of time and tax payer money as they are looking to re-election instead of governing. Once Obama is in for # 2 things will get going in a progressive way.

If you call trying to keep President Obama from frittering away any more of your hard earned tax dollars being the party of “obstructionists”, then I’m sure that is a title they would gladly accept! How much further does he have to put us into debt before he realizes he can’t spend his way out of this mess? I will be voting for the party that truly intends to overhaul the tax system. A flat tax is the only way to be fair for all. The less you earn the less you pay, the more you earn the more you pay. How can you possibly get fairer than that?
