WEST DES MOINES, IOWA -- Undeterred by the cold or by a steady drizzle, some 600 Iowans came out this morning to hear Mitt Romney, along with his surrogate and enforcer, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, rally the troops before Tuesday's Iowa caucus begins the 2012 primary campaign in earnest.
Romney, as he has done all week in Iowa, set the stakes for 2012 high, telling the crowd the race was not about just changing occupants of the oval office, but also about "saving the soul of America."
No one wages that fight better than Christie, said Romney; the New Jersey governor returned the favor.
"As we always do every four years, America's watching Iowa and Iowa's gonna be, gonna be the folks who are gonna help to start this process to get us going to make sure that the Republican Party nominates the very best person to take on President Obama in November," Christie told the shivering crowd. "Now when you look at that stage in these debates, I think you've gotta come to the conclusion I've come to: there is no person better qualified by his experience and his character to take on Barack Obama and to lead the United States of America than Gov. Mitt Romney"
Christie also jokingly warned the crowd that there would be consequences if they did not support Romney at Tuesday's caucuses. Christie said that he would return to Iowa "Jersey Style," a statement with different, but equally terrifying meaning, to fans of "The Sopranos" and "Jersey Shore" alike.
And while Romney largely focused his message today on sweeping patriotic themes and his own "business guy" credentials, the pugnacious New Jersey governor made certain to dispense some harsh words for President Obama in his closing thought.
"President Barack Obama came out to Iowa three years ago and he talked to you about hope and change. Well let me tell you, after three years of Obama, we are hopeless and changeless and we need Mitt Romney to bring us back, to bring America back," Christie said.

Yeah that's just what we need in national politics. Flip/flopper Romney and Crisco Christie. Christie railed against the New Jersey teachers union and then when it was pointed out he sends his kids to private schools he said it was nobody's business what he did with his kids. He preached austerity and laid off hundreds of New Jersey workers but was later seen taking a state police helicopter to his kid's game. Of course he parked it far enough away and climbed into his state limo to actually show up at the game. What a hypocrite.

I am a life long resident of New Jersey and I am totally embarassed to have this fat slob of a governor traveling around the country trashing my state. His pathetic attempt at humor falls flat and is insulting. "...he said that he would return to Iowa "Jersey Style,"..."

Governor, tomorrow morning tolls on the turnpike and parkway are rising 50%. And all you did about it was to blame your predecessor.
Instead of running around Iowa with your nose up Romney's butt, why don't you try to fix New Jersey's problems? After all, that's what you get paid to do.

FAT BOY Christie makes threats in Iowa. Why wasn't he arrested for making threats? Better yet Fat boy better hit the gym. Stages can not hold that much tonnage at one time. This shows you how weak Willard is. Willard can not stand on his own two feet. He can not attack the people he running against. he has to let others to do it for him. Then when Willard is questioned on his flip flopping he get mad and crosses his legs like girl does.

Mr. Christie is a bag of HOT AIR. His state is not doing that well and Mr. Romney says that Corporations are People. Gov. Christie must think that Iowans are stupid. Having lived there during my college years, I know that that is not true. I bet the people in New Jersey feel hopeless and changeless with him as Governor. That is for most of the people in his state except the wealthy and corporations which received additional tax breaks when he took office. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

I love how Chris Christie says this business about bringing America back. Back to what? I mean for me as an African American "bringing it back" means back to sitting in the back of the bus, which happened before I was born mind you, but the country has come a long way and still has farther to go. This business about taking it back is way off base as well, I mean what... does Canada somehow have the United States now?
Canada doesn't but China does thank to the community Organizer in Chief. All Obama has done is spend our children's and their children's money for fake jobs and unions. We need some one that's knows what he's doing. Obama is in way over his head and you people know it.

Remember the Boston Tea Party and I'm not talking about modern day 'teabaggers'. Dubya and his fake war of WMD(war for oil) at the cost of a trillion USA dollars and 4000 American lives not to mention a 100,000 Iraq lives raised the price of a barrel of crude from $38 a barrel to about a$100. Canada and other countries only need the US to buy their surplus oil at that hansome price. Hats off to Dubya.
