The media has given Paul a pass for far too long. And yet Paul's supporters have claimed the media was anti-Paul when they were ignoring Paul's crazy positions. Paul is seen as an oddball, that everyone but his supporters knows has zero chance at being the GOP nominee. Obama has been lucky in the past, but no one is that lucky. The media ignored Paul's nutty positions, because they didn't think Paul had a chance, and they elected not to tear the old man down. If the media was even a fraction as anti-Paul as Paul's have claimed since 2007, the media would have hauled out his racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic, and nutty conspiracy filled newsletters in every interview. The media would have exposed Paul for the crack pot he is, but instead they simply gave him little media attention.

Paul's Iowa supporters consistent of low information voters (who usually have little or no formal post HS education), college kids who want pot legalized (but are too intellectually immature to realize that even under a Paul Presidency Congress would have to change the federal drug laws, and there is currently zero chance of that happening), and engineers who are smart in math, but are otherwise clueless (and usually have no personality, which is why they find Paul so exciting).

When you ask a Paul supporter (be it a low information voter with little formal education, a college student who dreams of being able to smoke pot legally, or an Engineer) about specific Paul positions, they admit they disagree with him on pretty much what ever issue you mention. I have yet to meet a Paul supporter who thinks it would be a good idea to abolish the FAA, and turn over airplane inspections and air traffic to the airlines. That is just nuts, and unlike his racist newsletters this is a position Paul took in the fall debates.

According to the media, the Democratic Party has disbanded and its former members have taken up new hobbies, like cake decorating and ice fishing.

Well, when you get your brains bashed in the way they did last fall, what was it? about 0 for 60 in swing state House races or something like that,

and polls show you will definitely lose the Senate as well, if not more, in 2012,

it may be time to cake decorate.
